That last review HAS to be a mistake. Either that or the person is just straight-up bulls**tting. Prof. Housen is the most knowledgeable, fun professor I have EVER had. His class is easy too, so any idiot that only takes easy classes is taken care of.

I would highly recommend taking Sociology with Prof Housen if it's required for your major. If you attend the lectures, the tests are extremely easy. I never cracked a book or studied, his tests are based 100% on the lecture. The only bad thing about him is he has some odd political conspiracy theory views that weirded me out. He is an easy A.

EXCELLENT teacher, his class was very interesting and you never have to really study. Exams are straight off of his lectures and he provides you with all the notes. I wish every professor could be as nice.

Take this class flexible learning. It is so easy and you do not need 3 meetings a week to understand it if you have common sense. If you don't already know what a transvestite is you've got real problems. His class was the most stress free class ever and we only had to go for the midterm and final and watch some videos at home.

And yes, you have to study for his tests, just like all tests in all subjects, but he will NEVER test you on something he didnt cover. you wont get As by just showing up. i took this course accelerated over summer A at 8am and he just made it so enjoyable i actually looked foward to his class. Make sure you're there for lectures, work is not hard, basically every thing is in a workbook he wrote. He works with you even if you're doin bad, he tries to help bring you on point. Tests are not hard. Just pay attention. Just a little bit of effort and doing your work on time can get an easy A.

HILLARIOUS is the best word to describe him. He loves to teach and you can't miss that. You won't pass without the Workbook. If you are satisfied with a "B" then don't buy the Textbook, if you want an "A" u need the Textbook. There are little facts in the Text that are the difference between an A & B. Prof. Housen is absolutely the most amazing teacher of all the time!! Keeps the lecture lively, and interesting. Never a dull moment, and always willing to help you out! You get to have fun while you learn, the only bad thing is the limited class time! There was always more to discuss, just never enough time :(! Super recommend!!!

No need to buy the textbook, everything he tests on it either lectured/in the workbook. So much fun if you're in a vocal class, he loves to get off topic but still covers material.

Professor Housen is an amazing teacher and is the best sociology professor ever! I took him and he made me want to go to class everyday. His lectures are always interesting and he gives you handouts for each section. You have 4 quizzes and 4 tests. Easy A! I recommend him for anyone!

Professor Housen is AMAZING. Every lecture in his class is important, so don't miss a class. He will go through a segment and relate it to your life, which definitely helps you learn the material. BEST PROFESSOR EVER! I took him for general sociology too! He has never given below a C, just study for the tests and quizzes and take notes! HIs powerpoints are super easy to read, and he prints them out and gives them to you. You must take this class!

Amazing teacher. Every lecture uses real world examples that stick with you. This class made me love sociology. I never studied for a test and got an A from listening to the lectures and filling in the study guide as he taught. Class was fun and enlightening.

Professor Housen is by far the best educator I've ever had. All the positive comment ring true. He relates your issues to the information required to learn. He makes class so enjoyable that we've even stayed in our seats 20 minutes after class has ended just because a certain topic discussed was so interesting.

Professor Housen is THE BEST!! Hes very engaging and hes got alot of interesting stories that are relevant to the topic hes talking about. His tests are easy, if you study the notes you'll get an A. Make sure you buy his workbook b/c he gives you extra credit at the end for completing it. The textbook isnt really mandatory, never used in class.

This was the second class I've taken with him. He is a brilliant professor and here ally is interesting in the stuff he teaches. He is the reason why I chose sociology to be my major! If you haven't taken a class with him, I suggest do so ASAP. Your mind will be so open about so many things. I am going to miss this class!!

One of the best teaches at Broward College! So entertaining and very enthusiastic, he keeps the conversation and lecture interesting. I have taken him for sociology and his marriage and family class. You will learn so much without being bored. Tests are all on his powerpoints so if you go to class and study the handouts you will get an A!

Hands down best professor ever! He is very thorough in his teaching, but not only that, he makes learning the material fun. His attendance isn't mandatory, but class discussions are so good that you wont want to miss class.

I truly enjoyed this class with Housen. You don't need the textbook but get his workbook, at the end if the semester he using it for 10 pts extra credit. Tests and quizzes are easy as long as you pay attention and ask questions. Big 7 page writing assignment at the end but it is about yourself.

By far one of the BEST professor I've taken at bC! He is AMAZING I'm constantly talking about him and his class outside of his class cause the way he presents the topics are just fascinating! Amazing teacher. I recommend his class to everyone. Lectures are interactive so be ready to voice your thoughts but his examples really help you learn the material. Tests and quizzes are pretty easy as well. barely used the textbook, his lecture notes are basically all you need if you pay attention in class. Also gives extra credit for workbook.

I didn't know what to expect the first day in his class but he definitely surprised me. He knows his stuff for sure. He explains everything with crystal clear examples. BY FAR THE BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD AT BROWARD COLLEGE! All you have to do to ace the class is show up and pay attention. Best professor in BC! Semi-easy A. His lectures are literally amazing! He makes class fun and everything he teaches you pertains to real life situations with CLEAR examples. You do 4 tests & 4 quizzes. The test are semi hard but the quizzes are easy. STUDY THE LECTURE NOTES FOR AN A+! Also, do his extra credit book while he lectures, easy points.

He is one of my favorite professors for sure and he clearly wants everyone to learn and succeed. There is plenty of tests and quizzes but if you study then they will be a breeze. While also being fairly easy to succeed, you actually truly learn stuff in this class. I highly recommend this professor, I say take him while you can.

Pay attention in class. The lecture notes are very helpful, the workbook helps, and read the book (just what was discussed in class). If he explains something not in the lecture notes, look it up. You will be engaged, have deep debates, and be taught some useful life lessons. Please study, it's mostly memorization and examples go a long way.
