If you need to break Acct 1 into 21 & 22.... this is the guy you WANT to take. He is helpful, experienced, cares about his students, is fair and makes the stuff fun. Easy A if you study and pay attention in class. I was lucky enough to take him and wish he taught other accounting courses since the other insctructors at VC SUCK!

Excellent meathods to teach a class that is really hard. He lectures one week then goes over the homework the next week. Do the homework or you will be lost in this class - but if you do the work you will succeed. The tests are not easy but if you listen in class and do the homework you will do fine.

He's a great teacher! You have to keep up with your homework and attend every week or else you will get lost. But he gives you 3 exams and a final, and he drops the lowest exam. I just wish that he taught other accounting classes, it's a shame.

Definitely the teacher to take. Class is structured and to the point, and he makes a difficult subject manageable. Mr. Levine is very passionate about accounting and knows what he's talking about (CPA). It is a shame that LAVC limits his classes to only Acctg 21, because he would be the BEST option for any of the Acctg courses offered.

Seriously the best professor I have ever had. Knows his stuff, and expects you to do the work, which is fine if you really are serious about learning. Wants you to do well, wanders around the room and can figure out if you are lost and, if so, will help. Available in his office if you ever have questions. I can't imagine taking anybody else.

Levine is a really nice professor but I hated his teaching style. He basically just regurgitates everything that you read in the book which can make it pretty difficult to understand. You have three tests + a MC final and he drops your lowest test score. Make sure you do all your hw it counts for a lot more than you realize!

Tests are a bit difficult, but he gives you lots of changes to improve. Be on time and do your homework online and you should be fine with the class. You really will learn a lot from him. Wish he taught more classes.

We went thru each chapter in one class and he gives examples that are amazing from his experiences. Not only are his teaching techniques straight forward, he also brings in outside sources to help student succeed. Only thing he asks is for undivided attention (aka no phones).

The class is straight forward, you learn about different aspects of business. The class is based on group projects, be prepared to work with a team of individuals for a whole semester. It may be a good thing, for it will be less individual work, or the death of you if your group is lazy. The tests are open book and are straightforward.

He was in business and brings stuff from his business, unlike the other professors ho dont have lots of experience. I wish I had him for accounting classes, he is that good.

I had this professor for Bus 1 & Actg 2. He was actually in the business world & brings that experience to the class. I liked how he tells what is actually done in real life. No matter who is teaching accounting 1, it is very tough to learn at first so don't assume you could find an ''easy instructor'' because no matter who teaches it, the material stays the same. Just show up every session and take as many notes because copying everything that an instructor says will help you pass the exams since its open notes.

Very organized grading you will never wonder what your grade is. Personally felt it was not too difficult until the last few chapters. As long as you try you will do at least okay. I met Professor Levine about 2 years ago and now here I sit taking accounting courses at USC, this man gave me the tools and the mindset to even attempt to apply at this prestigious school. Very Clear outline given that allows you to track your grade with no surprises. Weekly Quizzes and homework plus a class project. He offers extra credit, make a commercial for the product from the class project. Not many people did the extra credit. I took full advantage of the extra credit why not. Each chapter has 10 T/F questions and a few accounting problems. 3 exams, you can use a flashcard (drops the lowest one) and a final which is open book.
