Has good sense of humor but class is hard. He's a "textbook" kind of guy... as in no flexibility on H/W due dates and stuff. He's well prepared and has good grasp of material.
He has very poor teaching ability, shows up to class half ****. I have gone to hiss office to try to get help, HAH! He doesn't talk to you, he talks at you and treats you with a grave disrespect.
this guy is really rude and useless other than to get a failing grade
He's knows his stuff, rather crass, don't look for much help after class.
Keller is always late to class because he has to sneak in a cigarette at the bottom of the steps between ET and BS. He is extremely rude--most of his jokes are in poor taste. To his advantage, he explains the examples with great clarity during class. Not very helpful in office hours though.
Hard but fair, and knows what he is talking about
He is a fair professor who treats his students like adults. He is fair, and will tell you what he expects. There are no surprises if you pay attention. If you come to class and follow his lectures, you do the required homework and turn everything in on time, you will ace this class.
Very knowledgeable and helpful, has worked as a CPA and has many yrs of first hand knowledge. Humorous as well
He needs to get a life. And stop talking about how he enjoys drinking "adult beverages"

Obnoxious, **** (seriously, enough with the comments about "sexy business women", unhelpful, and difficult to understand...find a different instructor if possible.
Exams are unreal, he throws a big curve though
LOVED HIM!!!!! this guy below is right on!
I did not like his class...he cancelled class one day 5 minutes into it...sucked because I drove all that way just for that class that day. If you could get another professor, I would recommend it. Oh, and to the guy berating everyone who says that he/she does not like Keller needs to learn that insulting people does NOT help get his point across, he just comes across as the things he/she is calling everyone else...
Keller is sweet. By far a favorite of mine in the Kelley School.

to be frank, I do not enjoy his class very much although I did well in this course. He did not do curve at all this spring semester, even the average was only 53. He talked about practice questions directly in class without expaining the textbook first. You must be prepared before go to his class! And his exams, how to say? Wierd??
Keller is stuborn and sets students up to fail. Although I got a B in the class, the average on the tests were low 60's. He never returns emails and IF he curves tests, he does it on an uneven curve so that people who have a low D will get a C- (which was a majority of the class) and yet I had a B- and it was only curved to a B.
Dry and unreasonable!
His attitude is unacceptable, say nothing about his teaching. He is rude and rediculous. I do not think anybody would like his class
He's kind of mean, but he teaches the accounting and makes it understandable, but you still have to work your butt off to get a decent grade.
I do not understand how anyone could not pass this class with him teaching it. He takes time in class to work out examples. I suppose it has more to do with people hating accounting than hating him. The tests are difficult, but this is college and oftentimes students must apply concepts while in college. Go to class, do the online problems, and
Rude. Unhelpful. Unfriendly. Don't ask him questions after class- it just pisses him off. Would probably kick a baby.
Kind of dry, but fair and reasonable. Goes over the problems, which is very helpful. However, doing the homework on your own prior to the class is important for getting a good grade. Treats students like adults.
Teaches one way, then tests another. Seems like he's out more to trick students than to teach them. He gives us problems that suggest we've been studying the topics learned for 15 years. Be prepared for a frustrating semester
Terrible to say the least. Prof cannot teach worth anything. I attended every single class and paid attention, however, still ended up teaching myself--so definitely get the book (the international edition will work just fine and save you $$). Don't take A201 with him, try Tindall instead.
He is an alright professor, however he can be very uncaring at times. I had approached him out side of class with a homework question and he told me to "go to class and ask my friends for the answers". He also does not do reviews for the exams :(
I personally didn't care for him much. He's not very clear when speaking to students, a bit rude and dogmatic. You can get a decent grade with him, but be prepared to study four to eight hours a week for this course. I felt as if his main objective was to trick students, not teach. The other reviews are perfectly accurate...
he was a very fun teacher! teaching was clear and he was very helpful! the tests were kind of hard but if you do the homework and study the handouts you'll do fine! would take him again!
Horrible professor.. You have to really love accounting in order to get an A. The class average is always 50 to 60 percent. He teaches math and tests on theory, which makes no sense. The stuff on the tests are completely different than what he teaches. What I recomend is to take this course in Ivy tech.
I'd rather get a pap smear with a rake than to take another class with this prof.
Attending class and asking questions really helps.
Despite what all the reviews say on this site, Keller is actually a decent professor, lecture-wise. I found his lectures were usually interesting, and he?s pretty funny sometimes. However, I found the tests were nearly impossible to study for, and the homework took HOURS every week. While he does give a huge curve, this class is HARD.
Reviews are unnecessarily harsh. The material isn?t all that easy by its nature, but this is college. If you read the book and do the homework, you should be alright. Homework is very time consuming and the tests are usually difficult. However, Keller has a rather large curve in place, meaning if you at least try, you WILL pass.
He's very to the point and serious about the class. Despite what these reviews say, he is an excellent teacher as far as explaining the material goes. However, he is not going to hold your hand through the class. It is somewhat difficult material and he leaves it mostly up to you to make sure you can keep up. Good professor. I'd recommend him.
He is very unapproachable which is hard when you don't understand or find the subject difficult (me). I went to tutoring and he told me not to worry about the last exam. Exams are not cumulative. Yet accounting is! I ended up going to tutoring with Tindall and learned so much. I wish I had her all along.
Go to every class. Take notes. Pay attention. Do the homework. Study for the test. And you should be okay. Keller is a comedian at hurt, but his tests are hard. You will need to the know the subject inside and out to do well. The class is curved heavily because of this.
It's a tough class. Definitely make sure you come to class and pay attention, as well as do the homework. He curves the class heavily at the end, which helps. A lot of people really don't like him, but honestly those are the type of people who don't want to put in their share of work to the class. If you try hard, you'll get a B at least.
Excellent teacher, highly recommend. He told you exactly what you need to know to do well on the test. Zero surprises. Tough material, very well taught. Go to class, complete requirements, you will do well.
I believe those who put the good ratings for him are the ones that actually understood accounting. People like me dont and he assumes that everybody knows accounting and asking him questions and for help is impossible. I would definitely not recommend him and you are better off taking it with tindall or over the summer with a much better professor.
This guy got me excited to go to a 3-hour night class. He actually made accounting both interesting and entertaining. He is very funny and easily approachable. I heard everyone in my class complaining about both him and the material for being too hard, but I barely did any studying at all and always ended up with A's on the tests, and in the class.
Liked his lectures, he did a good job of relating the material to real life applications. He writes very good tests in that they are written to test application. I felt like I had failed each test but got an A and a B because he grades on a curve. I felt he was a very good instructor that wrote great tests because challenging
Great summer class. You only have 2 exams with no cumulative final. Material was somewhat difficult so make sure you show up and do the homework. He almost always let you out early.
So glad I had Keller!!! He gives great handouts that walk you through exactly what you will need to know from a very dense textbook. He has real world accounting experience so he discusses how everything we do in class relates to on the job tasks. He isn't great at reviewing material but that is just because so much has to be covered in the class.
perfect professor who made me love accounting
Lectures are easier to understand than other professor, Tindall. Tindall makes you write too much and its hard to keep up. He gives note handouts in class to fill in, using examples that will help you on the homework. Tests are hard, but I dont like accounting so may be from my lack of interest. Otherwise, great teacher and funny guy.
Mr. Keller is very knowledgeable in accounting and explains things very well. His class is easy enough, but actually going to class is the best way to do well. He doesn't stand up there and lecture on and on, he goes through examples, which is really helpful. Warning though, he is very no nonsense, but friendly enough.
Professor Keller knows his accounting. He's an experienced teacher and is very good at explaining things.
He's good at explaining the material, and you'll understand the stuff during the lecture. But the tests are so hard and difficult. Hardest tests I've ever taken in a class. He really is a good teacher tho
10-15 hrs work including HWs = easy B. Final will cover most theory based questions compare 2 previous two tests of 150 points each, final is much easier than prevs tests. 120 points in each tests will lead you to easy "B" with 7-9 grade point curve in the end.
His course curve typically falls about 3 to 9 percentage points less than a standard (90,80,70,60) grade scale. Class averages around 62-66%...horrible but lol...Learn by heart HW & class problems to get easy "C".
He starts class 5,7 minutes late and dismiss class on an average 10 mins early. Result he rushes through material by touching only imp concepts. However, does explain them well. Reading book thoroughly is highly recommended to avoid getting lost in this hard weed out Kelley admission class. 10 hrs/week or more needed to pass class.
This class is extremely difficult, no matter what professor you take it with. I took it with Keller because he makes the exams, but that didn't make a difference because the tests were still very hard and confusing. Keller is hilarious. He is good at explaining things and is always willing to help you. You usually get out of class super early too!
This class was a lot harder than it needed to be! The professor did not explain the material very well. The homework and test questions had nothing to do with the notes! The class is curved at the end. THE CLASS WAS HELL!!! Read the chapters in the book and study on a daily basis.
Keller is the best of the 3 main profs that teach the course. You get a lot more hints about what's going to be on the exams if you're in his class. He gets you ready for the tests, Tindall mainly just gets you ready for the homework.
Took it in the summer, and he did not teach at all. He went over the handouts just by filling it in. He laughs if you ask questions because he basically thinks you should know it before you enter the class. Only being a required minor course, the class was way more difficult then I expected. Really don't recommend him in the summer or at all!
To be honest, Keller's an alright guy. He's somewhat funny and shares his experiences as an accountant that are very helpful. That said, I hated this class. I found the material interesting, but his tests are impossible. Don't take any of his classes
You are on your own in this class. Gives basic material that does not help pr clarify the much much harder homework and tests. Most of the class consisted of re-takers. You feel so pumped in class after a lecture only to stumble and fall- hard, on the homework and tests. Waste of time. At least have our lectures reflect the material in Connect
Mr. Keller told us on the first day that the book was essentially useless and we should just watch the chapter review videos on the Connect site. Review videos only gloss over seemingly important points. Lectures make tons of sense but, again, only sort of touch on a few points you'll be tested on. Prepare for 10+hrswk in the book to succeed.
I'm not an accounting major. This class was merely a prerequisite for another. That being said, Keller was exemplary at making me enjoy a course in which I had no previous experience. If you do the homework, listen to the online examples, and GO TO CLASS there is no reason you should not be able to pass, his generous curve notwithstanding.
Keller is great. It is key to go to class and follow along with the notes, the notes are exactly what are on the tests.
I would like to describe Professor Keller in mathematical formula. Let's say he will teach you Simultaneous equation with 2 variables, and you practice hard to prepare exam. Once the exam comes, you will find the same simultaneous equation with three variables. If you haven't seen an equation with 3 variables before, you will fail the exam.
As a man, I respect him. As a professor: He is one of the hardest exam makers I have ever taken. The material is hard enough, and then his tests are extremely tough and tricky. You either get it or you don't. This is the hardest class I have ever taken, and I hope to even pass with a C in this class. BEWARE - Final is pure tricks. I hate accouting
Professor Keller is a great teacher. I took non-major accounting with him, and I did not find tests challenging at all. They were exactly what was on the notes. He's an interesting professor and ties in real life examples to his lectures which helps you better understand the material. If you don't show up to class or study, you will struggle.
A202 is a weed-out course for business majors, so obviously it's going to be tough. To pass the tests, you should review the homework and his notes from in class and actually understand the processes involved, not just how to get your final answer. His tests are hard but he is a good professor and i would definitely recommend him.
Mr. Keller was very interesting and down-to-earth. While this was my most anxiety ridden course of the semester, it was also one of my faves. I came out with a C, thanks to the study group we formed. Book was rarely used. Homework did not reflect tests well! STUDY CLASS NOTES. This prof. writes very tricky tests. With the curve, you can pass.
Amazing teacher. His tests are very difficult though. It's not a mystery what will be on the tests. Be prepared to know the concepts inside and out. He gives very detailed notes that will help you immensely on the homeworks and tests. Do the homeworks, attend class, and apply yourself. With the curve it won't be a problem to get a good grade!
Keller is a great professor. The people who do poorly in his class are the ones who are lazy and dont put forth any effort. This class will require a lot of studying if you want to be successful. I was able to get an A pretty easily, but I also put in several hours a week studying. Dont buy the book, you just need the online access for HW
Not a good professor. He seems chummy in class, but berated students who asked legitimate questions. Also, come test time, you'll be wondering what he was teaching you. The test questions are infinitely harder and different than what he discussed in class. Even worse, he forced students to take his exams on Sundays! What a sham.
Writes tests that always result in failing class averages on them, has been for years, then curves the class at the end to justify it. Where does that help in the learning process..? I havnt been able to figure it out in 2 years of his courses. Writes tests for all accounting classes. Hes unhelpful and doesn't answer emails or oncourse messages.
Took A201 and A202 with him. Passed both with a B+... Extremely difficult classes. Tests are the hardest tests I have ever taken, and I'm an A student. I earned a B in both classes because I spent nearly 31 hours before each test studying. Very tough stuff. This IS the weed out class for Kelley. I recommend A202 in summer, only 6 weeks!
The lectures are nothing like the homework or exams. Good luck
Nothing against Professor Keller at all, but this class is impossible. The lectures and lecture notes don't help with the homework or test at all. I spent hours studying the lecture notes before taking the first test, but it didn't help. Tests are extremely hard and tricky.
Keller is just not meant to be a teacher he knows his stuff almost too well so he assumes everyone else does too makes you feel low if you ask questions class concluded early every meeting but you will not gain your money's worth or learn the concepts needed for exams no study guides or test review he won't email you back ever
To call him a bad professor is putting it lightly. When explaining course material during class, gives minimal information on the topic. Lectures make it more difficult to understand the concepts reviewed in the book. Makes tests more difficult than they need to be and are not similar to any example given in homework or class. Stay away at all cost
Keller's lectures are very long if you take the tuesday classes, he explains the material very fast which makes the material very confusing. Expect homework every single sunday and they are long. His test are very hard and he makes them for the whole accounting classes. He is a tough grader because the exams are worth 150 points.
Just like BUS-A201. Test are tough but I felt that the material covered in A202 was easier than A201. If you get the choice to take any accounting classes with Keller just do it. It's much easier to take it with him since he creates the test for everyone. Just do your best to get a C and move on.
Boring. Tests are extremely difficult even if you do study. They are nothing like the homework and in class work.
He makes the exams for all of the Accounting 201 and 202 and he makes them nearly impossible to get higher than C
Great guy. He'll take the time to explain any questions. He tends to tell stories a lot which make class longer than it needs to be. Expect HARD exams and a full letter grade curve.
Don't sign up for his classes or any accounting through the Kelley school. If anything goes wrong during your semester they will not work with you, and he structures his tests against the standardized testing flow. They range from recognition to recall tests that have an uneven flow and will have you flipping from the beginning to ending and back.
This professor is awful at teaching. He makes you feel stupid for asking questions. His tests are hard and look nothing like his class handouts or homework. He is the only instructor for Accounting so good luck to all his future students.
I loved him as a prof. He was easy to follow along with, gave you all information you needed, and had a hard to understand but good humor. He understood that no one wanted to be there, and neither did he, so he got to the point. Homework was long, but fair, giving you 2 chances to do it. CAN NOT REACH BY EMAIL. If you go to class, youll do fine.
Grade is based on weekly ten-point assignments through online software (which he then tells you isn't related to material on tests) and three tests (each worth 150 pts). Percentage-wise, you won't do well on tests. But the curve is huge in the class because of it. Funny prof, only choice. Not too horrible. Find people to study with.
Makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Rude. Hours worth of homework not related to test. Didn't come to class over half of the semester and thinks video lectures are an appropriate substitute. If you want to pass, you have to read the book.
