Fun teacher, learned alot, tests on book and notes, read book!!

Dr. Howard doesn't let you slack but makes it clear what he wants you to know. If you're willing to do the reading and the homework, you'll almost never be blindsided by a test question. Also, unlike most profs, he actually cares whether or not you understand. Despite repeating, ad nauseum, that chemistry isn't intuitive, he's an exccelent prof.

I'm glad I took Organic Chem with Dr. Rosenzweig. It?s been a while since I took my last CHM class before organic, and he made sure that we understood all the. He also was genuinely interested in his own subject, sometimes pulling on some personal or real work examples to explain certain topics. I consider him one of my best teachers.

Dr. Howard is the best professor at Oakton!! He is extremely helpful. Everyone says organic chem is very hard but if you follow his instructions, take good notes, do homework and study hard you will get an A for sure. He gives a lot of hints for the tests....the labs are very easy. I strongly recommend taking him cause he is excellent teacher!

If you really want to learn organic chemistry, take it with Dr. Howard, after you take this class, you will feel very confident and knowledgeble about orgo so if you are premed,dental,or pharm, he's the only way to go. For the whole class Dr. Howard was very clear on exactly what was needed to know on the tests. If you pay attention in class and do the reading and homework, you should have no problem doing well. Also very fair policy on labs and grading. Answers all questions well. Very good professor.

Dr. Rosenzweig made Organic understandable and enjoyable. I am not going to say he hands out A's, but an A is attainable if you pay attention and study. Overall, Dr. R is a very good professor and I look forward to Organic 2 with him.

Dr Rosenzweig is the best professor of organic chemistry I and II. He explains very clearly, and ask everything according to what he teaches. If you pay attention in class,and take notes, do everything from quizes then easy A in this class. Out of 4 exams only 3 is counted toward final grades. He curves if needed. Great class. Dr Howard is such a nice n accommodating guy! You have to go to class since it is of your grade. But really, pay attention in class, and study. Organic is not an easy subject but if you study a few days before the exam and go through the reactions at the end of each chapter you will be fine. He even tells you whats going to be on the exam!

Dr. Rosenzweig is a great professor and teaches with enthusiasm. Organic Chemistry is difficult, but Dr. Howard tells you what you need to know. The quizzes do not count towards the course grade, and often questions on the exam are very similar to quizzes. The lab portion is also very manageable. Dr. Howard always answers students' questions.

This was a really painless way to take orgo. The lab grades are not emphasized, so you can focus on doing well in lecture. We got out early every day and yet we still were ahead and learned a substantial amount of material. I would never take orgo for fun but if you have to do it, this is the guy to teach you.

I took this course over the summer. I studied about 2 hours a day. I got an A because Dr. Howard tells you what the test will cover. The labs are a blow off. And, for showing up to lab you get 3% added to your grade. Participation is an easy 100% if you show up. Take orgo with him if you want a good grade and you want to learn the subject.

MUCH better than my past chem teachers. Goes by the book so if you read/do hw, you'll do fine in class. But class time isnt a total waste - he clarifies points that might be more difficult and points out what'll be important on the test. The book is good but a classmate got thru with just paying attn in class - never opened the book except for HW.

Professor Rosenzwieg is a wonderful teacher! He makes organic chem enjoyable and teaches with a drive that makes students want to succeed in his class. Great professor to take during the semester if you are interested in understanding organic chemistry. He love to teach the topic and attempts to help students when possible. Dr. Howard is not uptight about little things, but stresses that you make an effort to do well. Overall I would definitely recommend him...great guy.

I was very nervous about taking Organic Chemistry but Dr. Howard makes the complex information easy to understand. He does a great job explaining the material. Do the homework, read the book for extra help, and study the quizzes and you will do fine in this class. If you have questions don't be afraid to ask and he will take the time to help.

I was one of the few students who visited him often during his tutoring hours. There, he would explain concepts I did not understand, and he cares about his students so much, that we eventually became good friends just through conversations varying from religion to politics. He deserves to be a full-time faculty member (...and signed solo artist).

Dr. Rosenzweig is by the far the best professor at Oakton. He has a great sense of humor and makes classes interesting and fun. I took 5 sciences this semester, and his class was the only one I looked forward to throughout the week. He has a great grading policy and homework is optional. Great teacher!The class is not overwhelming as other science classes, although you do have to study and memorize a lot of mechanisms and reactions.Homework is not graded, so you don't have to worry about deadlines and loosing points for little mistakes. There are 4 tests, he drops one with the lowest score; attendance is mandatory.

Dr Howard is involved and cares about his students. If you make flashcards and read the labs beforehand you will do fine. If you need tutoring he has frequent office hours and is always there. Is very passionate about the subject. Also he drops the lowest exam grade and his pop quizzes don't count(though they are helpful in studying for the exams).

I cannot thank Dr. Rosenzweig for giving me the grade I deserve. He is at the tutoring center for a reason. I fully took the advantage of that and I'm glad that it helped me throughout the course. Set all of your preconceived fears of Organic Chemistry aside. Professor Rosenzweig makes the class reasonable by giving ungraded quizzes to prepare you for exams and consistently pointing out "exam worthy" lecture material. The subject itself is challenging, but if you pay attention, study what he tells you and ask questions, you will be ok.

Dr Howard is excellent at distilling complex concepts into palatable, easy to digest portions. By no means is the class easy, but show up, pay attention and Dr Howard essentially lets you know exactly what you need to study in order to do well in the class.

I just finished the spring semester of Organic Chemistry (Chem 207) with Dr. Rosenzweig and it was a very enjoyable course. In particular, Dr. R. provides a clear roadmap to understanding the concepts and what you need to know for each exam. There are absolutely no surprises. For me, the course was a tidal wave of new and wonderful knowledge.

Definitely attend all of the lectures and take good notes because he will give clues to what will be on exams. If you attend/complete the labs, he will likely give you the full credit. Highly recommend!

Dr. Howard is a truly wonderful professor. He is extremely knowledgeable and explains material very well. The labs and lectures are fun and interesting, and the format of the course is well-structured with fair exams. Overall, he is a really caring, kind, supportive, and helpful professor. I thoroughly enjoyed his class and highly recommend him!

This professor is extremely kind and caring. I will say for many of my classmates this class was very difficult. But this professor wants his students to succeed so it is very unlikely anyone would fail his class . Practice quizzes not graded but helpful, labs and exams graded, lowest exam score gets dropped.

Dr. Howard was one of the most inspirational professors I've ever had at Oakton. From the very start of class, he makes it very clear that he understands that orgo is a hard subject- but he also makes it clear that he wants you to succeed. He'll work with you for that success. Tells you exactly what's on the test, no homework (only studying).

Dr. Howard is one of my favorite professors in Oakton. It is true that organic chemistry is a tough subject. But if you study, you'll get a good grade. Dr. Howard tells us exactly what's in the exams and gives us notes for exams. Just stick to the notes and lectures he provides, and make to record lectures or take notes during the lectures.
