He's not the easiest teacher as many have proclaimed. He's a regular math teacher. If you do your homework, you'll be fine. You still need to study the material in order to pass. Overall he's average in easiness. He's not that easy as many say. There's still people getting D's and C's and fails.

Schwesky is the man. He teaches what is most needed to prepare you for calc 2. I had always gotten c's in math. After four years of not taking math I took his class and got an "A". He gives 4 tests plus a final. He drops you lowest of the tests. Take him. You will not be dissappointed. He helps make math less intimidating. Good luck!

This is a professor you must take! He is very helpful, very clear. He is an awesome teacher. Makes the class fun. I love his stories right before break, they were the best! mr. schwesky makes calculus unintimidating. i am not a math person but he is the first professor who has explained the subject well. he is very animated, loves what he does, and tells stories to students to rest their minds during lecture. he's pleasant, nice, and goes over every hw problem during lecture. tests are fair, you get to drop one.

I Recommend. Tests are similar to material covered in notes (not too many curveballs). Great teaching style; makes material simple enough to learn, though I had some trouble understanding the basics. I've a 4.0 GPA and got an A through hours of practice and commitment. It's feasible; don't be lazy.

Prof. Schwesky is an amazing Calculus teacher. He made a difficult subject look so easy. I came to class, took notes, studied for a couple hours before each test, and had a A in the class. Going into the final with 99% is the best feeling. I am not taking Calc 262 until he is teaching it. Take calculus with Prof. Schwesky, he is the best!

Wonderful professor! Dreaded Calc 1 before stepping into his classroom, but he made it fun and informative. Plus the real-life stories are a hoot! This is the greatest Calculus teacher I have EVER TAKEN. I have had some good teachers but this professor is not only crystal clear but an easy grader. His tests are Easy, his grading is flexible, he drops one test, and he curves if necessary. He's exceptional at explaining and very helpful, he also has funny stories.

Awesome professor. Easy to understand(not someone with a thick accent). The real way to succeed in his class (or any class for that matter) is to be disciplined enough to do the homework. It isn't mandatory, but the more you practice it, the easier it'll be to do the tests. When he does review, he goes everything you'll need for the test.

If you take him at moorpark his test are very easy and simple. At moorpark college the final you take is not by him. And is extremely hard! Most likely will end up with a B in the class if Ace all test and quizzes.

Forget everything written about him and read this: I am a straight A student with 70 units so far all A's, and this is my first B ever. He explains the subject very thoroughly and answers questions. He grades you ONLY based on your exams ( no H.W, no quizzes, etc..). He gives VERY LITTLE partial pts. Knowing the review is not enough for the exams

I took the online course but the Final was in person. He had a review session and pretty much everything at the review was on the Final. Throughout the semester he was very generous with extra credit. I should have gotten a B but was given an A. You must work for your grade though. Overall, he's fair, generous, & clear about what he wants from you.

Professor Schweskb makes math enjoyable. I genuinely respect him as a professor because he takes his time to make sure all subject matter is understood. Tests resemble the homework, however, he does throw a slight curveball in each test to make sure you grasp the subject. Definitely my favorite math teacher thus far.

I love his stories and in his class, you would forget all your stress and laugh hard. He gives exactly what you deserve. I am sad that I couldn't register for his class for next semester as they are highly demanded.

He writes clearly & large, so the material is easy to follow. He tells a story (or two) a day, but they are deliberate diversions (a "mental break") & not accidental rambling tangents. He uses the Stewart Precalculus text, which seems better than alternatives. He grades based on 4 tests + final only. A good final will replace 1 lowest test score.

He is been changed. there are 3 multiple choose quiz, each 6 to 7 question, worth 100. then 3 midterm worth 400. some extra credit, vary for each person depend on your grad. do not talk or discuss about your grad he gets mad easily, but tried not to show, dose not work. nice person but so rigid about exam and grad. study hard, youll be fine.

Schwesky is probably my all time favorite professor at Pierce. Somehow he manages to dumb down material so that everyone can understand it, no matter the difficulty level. For calc 1 his tests are pretty conceptual/hard but he prepared us for the final really well. Overall, a great teacher with a personality that doesn't make class boring!

If anyone says Schwesky is hard/not good, do not listen to them. This is a fun class and he makes it easy. you want an A? do the HW, and go find similar problems on the test. Never seen long/hard problem on any of his test. I got 100% on the 4 exams. You might not learn a lot, so be ready to face challenges when applying Diff Eq in engineering.

He usually puts some of the homework problems on the exams. You have four exams and a final. Not a lot of homework & offers review before exams.

I'm not sure a professor can teach Calculus 2 or math better than him. Its still Calculus 2 so its inherently difficult, expect to work. This professor however makes things very easy to learn and is very helpful in getting you on the right track and helping you out. I had always been terrible at math (or so I thought), but he has such a talent for teaching and explaining things so clearly that I was able to get A's on all his tests. I took his class over the summer, so it was about four hours long, four days a week. But his class was so engaging that time really flew by. Plus his stories are hilarious.

Everything on the exams are exact problems that we did in class. There are no surprises, you just have to practice. He gives homework to practice, but it isnt graded. You dont need the code to do homework, so buy a used book. To be honest I barely touched my textbook. Calc is hard and requires effort but I got an A and the professor is the best.

I haven't taken a math class in 20+ years, now needed this class to move up at work . Prof. Schwesky always returned my emails promptly and was encouraging . Due to my work schedules I had took the class online . Lots of reading and his videos are the best ! PS. I'm horrible at MATH, I passed !

However, his class was so smooth. explains really well, assigns homework which he doesn't collect. and the best part is , he goes through them in case someone didn't get a problem. gives study guides which the exams are based on them. Overall, no stress, easy A. I strongly recommend him :))

I was really scared to take math online. He just has a gift for teaching it seems. I had to read a lot in the textbook. The textbook assigned is pretty much the lecture and if you have any questions you can email him. He assigns homework accordingly to readings and exams. He is super helpful! I will take him in person whenever I find the chance.

An amazing professor who understands his students' needs well. Homework is light and not collected for credit. Your grade is completely determined by midterms with questions from the homework and a final with similar questions. The questions are easy and short, but he makes sure you understand well. Besides being a great father figure, he has a fantastic technique that tames the terminology to be friendly absorbed. For fundamental fairness, he works halfway with you; he wants you to succeed.

I'm an engineering major so I have to take difficult math. I get it hard material in 13-24 weeks? yeah, not a lot of time. But he breaks it down for you in a clear direct way. He even gives you time to process with a hilarious story. Homework is given but you don't need to turn them in, BUT YOU MUST DO IT. The material is so much easier to grasp!

Professor Schwesky is by far my favorite professor at Pierce. He really makes sure that every student understands what he is teaching and he is super accommodating. I wish he taught Statway B so I could take him again. Such a great professor!

Professor Schwesky is amazing!! He is very patient with all of his students and really makes you understand everything in the most simplest way. His tests are based off of homework problems (some are even identical to the homework). Final is cumulative and based off previous tests. Hw is not required but doing it helps a lot!

Such a great professor. I took his online class, and while there was a good amount of homework (5+ assignments a week), they were extremely easy. He was always on top of things in case the system was down, and would remind the class weekly about assignments and quizzes that are due. Added 6% on our final grade for the system malfunctioning.

Hes one of the best professor that I meet at Pierce, and this is really an easy A class, no quiz, only 5 tests and final. His tests are straightforward and mostly from homework problems. He also tells some funny stories about his life during class. Too bad that he does not teach Math 270. I really want to take him for 270.

This is by far the best trigonometry teacher at Pierce. He is extremely straightfoward and makes sure all students understand before proceeding. The only thing that counts in his class are a couple quizzes and tests. He gives you a review sheet before the test to study and is exactly what is going to be on the exams. It was pretty intense as every class is in a short semester but professor Schwesky made it so much easy. He gives homework for you to practice and 50% of the exam will be exactly the same as the homework and the other similar.

Am taking currently for the spring, and I love it! With the whole corona virus going he has been great. If your not that good with math no need to worry he will help you, am pretty good with math so this class is a breeze. DOESN'T COLLECT HOMEWORK! He gives you homework and if you do it, will help you for exams. Grades only based off tests.

Excellent professor, taught everything so clearly and made it easy to understand. He is also very funny which made the class fun. Class is exam heavy so make sure to study and redo all homework problems without any notes to test yourself.

Professor Schwesky knows how to teach and is really patient with all of his students. Homework is not required so it is up to you if you want to practice or not. There were four exams and four quizzes. He is inspiring and his teaching style is enjoyable. He is able to keep the class interesting. He provides an online textbook. Definitely take him.

Took professor Schwesky in fall and i loved every minute of it. The lectures are very good and he doesn't make it boring because of his stories lol. His tests and quizzes are fair and easy and he tells you whats going to be on them before. Homework was optional but it helped with studying for the tests. Schwesky is truly a gem and a goat.

Took Calc 1 over 16 weeks online. Hes THE BEST. Although math can be a tricky subject, he did everything in his power to accommodate students by not making his tests too convoluted. Quizzes are similar to the HW. Hw is NOT mandatory but its SUPER helpful for the test and quizzes. Study hard and ATTEND OFFICD HRS! Hes a really nice person!

Just take him and you won't regret it. He is amazing and actually enjoys his jobs and even gives very funny stories during the break. You need the book to do homework and some of the quizzes. In total 4 quizzes, 4 tests, and one Final. All real easy if you do the HW and attend the lecturs. Easiest Math class of my life.

Took him for a 5-week winter course, definitely would recommend. Makes difficult concepts very easy to understand, grades very fairly and does the most to make sure you succeed. Tests are very straightforward and homework is not mandatory (although you should do a lot of practice since its a 5-week course).

Direct teaching, loads of examples. Covers homework questions at the start of class. Teaches some non-orthodox methods but they work well. Doesn't bother with theory, will take you straight to the derivation. Takes time to explore interesting parts of the math you might not think about. Best storyteller on campus. He's the GOAT of Pierce Math.

He is just amazing, I had him for calc 1 and 2 and he was just amazing. You can literally not even listen to lecture and get over 100% in his class. A solid choice, if you can get him right away.

Obviously, he is the easiest math prof. I took Calc3 because it is the last series in Calc. Easy A class. The graded 100% from the test and quizz. If you're not serious with math take him. but if you're major involve a lot of math take the others. (if you take calc2 with him, you have to take calc3 with him too, otherwise impossible to pass)

Professor Schwesky was the best prof I have taken so far. I took him online over Winter for Trig and he made things very easy & although there was always homework for each chapter it was never excessive. You will pass as long as you do the hw, study the study guides and make sure you at least get the concepts of the work he gives.

HW is optional and your grade is only based on 5 exams, but the exams are very straight forward and there are no tricks, as long as you come to class and take notes on lecture and do the optional HW you will be guaranteed an A. His class is easy to get by. Attendance is mandatory. Hw is optional but very helpful in exams. They are straight forward and similar to hw. Your grade will heavily rely on the exams. Calc 1 and 2 was tough for me coming out of Covid but I was able to pass them. I thought Calc 3 was gonna be tough but man was I wrong. With Professor Schwesky, he made the concept so easy to understand that it blows my mind. One of a kind professor that I highly recommend. Do your homework though it will help.

Took 262 and 263 with him, The best math professor I have taken my entire college career. The exams very closely resemble the hw problems, he gives hw everyday and reviews the hw everyday. Grade is based on 4 exams and final, plus 3-4 online quizzes. All hw is based on in class lecture, and exam study guides. Also tells funny stories all the time.

Probably the easiest math class that I've taken at Pierce. After every class he gives out a few questions. These aren't for a grade, but instead what you'll see on his tests. For each test you'll get about a total of twenty questions, they're all pretty simple. The class was graded solely on the tests, but I never got below a 95%.

You'll never have a better professor in your entire life. You're lucky if you're blessed with Schwesky's teaching. Had him for calc 2 & 3, learned so much from him. He makes difficult material so much easier, and his stories are so unique and interesting. I'm sad that the calc series is ending now because I wish I could take this professor again.

Took him for precalc and calc 1&2. The best math professor I have taken. He explains the material well. He will clarify any questions. Exams are your grade and are straightforward. Doing the hw helps a lot as long as you understand the material. I would love to take calc 3 with him again if I could! His stories give me life when class feels tense!

Homework isn't graded but obv recommended. That being said I didn't do a single page and got an A. He reviews homework at the start of class and study guides before exams. I can't give him a 5 just because he's almost too easy. He doesn't care for formalities or math notation which are things I tend to appreciate. If you don't, this is your guy.

Great professor, tests were not too bad and he gave study guides for each test. His grading system is 88%+ is an A, 78%+ B, and so on. He does this so that curves aren't disputed. This means you MUST get this percentage or higher. He will not go .5% down, but this is still quite generous. He also gives partial credit on exams which is helpful.

He gave us a review day before the tests and the problems were very similar to the homework. He does not put any trick questions on exams.

Took a 5 course summer course with him. It was very fast-paced, but he was so clear to explain every concept needed. He gives a review before the exam. No trick questions. The homework was optional, but doing them helped. He would review the homework every beginning of class. He would give us mental breaks and tell us funny stories about his life.

Greatest professor you will ever have. I had him for 262, 263, 270, and 275. His tests are very similar to homework, and his practice questions. He is very accessible outside the classroom and has no problem answering questions. Do not hesitate to take him. Made taking math an enjoyable experience.

You are graded 100% off of test and quizzes. Most of the time he does not curve. If you are not good at test I do not recommend this class. That being said, he has probably the easiest math test I have ever had. Its very straight forward, no tricks, almost every problem is straight from the book. Do not be discouraged because its 100% test based.

Attendance matters, he covers concepts and formulas in class that will come in the tests. He also has class reviews of the problems assigned in the homework, which helps with comprehension as the class progresses. He teaches really well, made Pre-Calculus ( Math 260 ) very enjoyable and not daunting- and I took a winter class at that and passed.

I didn't pass the class because of personal issues, but I wish I'd got to retake it with him. He's funny and a storyteller. Exams were pretty easy too, but you need to study. They were based on homework he assigned. I retook it with prof. Pearsall and it wasn't the same (way harder). Calc 2 is hard so DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE IT WITH HIM!

This was the easiest course I have taken at Pierce thus far. I took it during the summer and still had too much free time, even after reading the textbook and taking extra notes (not mandatory, I just do too much). His exams were 3 free response and the rest were MC/TF. Schwesky revived my love for math after it was demolished by P*mar.
