My fav class. She is so nice and definately will help you if you need it. All quizs are open notes and you get essay ques. before the test. Take her!

So far my favorite teacher at moraine. She helps you with any questions you have. She looks like a student but she's about 30 years old! She knows what she's talking about and makes class enjoyable.

Great class. She is really willing to help you out and answer questions about anything. Tough research paper, but the class is my favorite. Tries hard to make the subject interesting to everyone.

Best teacher ever! She is so adorable! She makes Humanities actually really fun to learn. She is very understanding and extremely willing to help. Awesome teacher, i highly recommend her!!!

Was told to take this class... and it's hard but really good. I would take it if you are interested in the material but would not take it if you're looking for an easy A. Teacher is very good -- and very into the subject matter -- she makes it interesting.

Originally, I didn't think I was so interested in the whole "humanities" topic, but this class actually ended up being my favorite. This teacher really knows her stuff, and even throws in random facts she's looked up on her own. I ended up loving a class that I didn't think I'd even really like, which made it easy to get the grade.

Awesome teacher, and a great class. She makes the subjects really interesting and you can tell she's really into the class as well. You get prepared well for all the tests and quizzes, and if you do the work, you'll get a good grade.

Love her! An excellent teacher who desires her students to do well. I would reccomend her to anyone, I wish she could teach all my classes! You definitely need the textbook to do the assigned reading but we didn't use it in class.

Best teacher you will ever have. She really cares about all her students. She wants them to succeed. She has an open-door policy, if you need help, she's always there. She knows her stuff, and makes it very intresting. You hardly get any homeworl and the tests arent bad at all because you have reviews. She is young, and full of life.

She is by far the best teacher i have ever had in all my life from kindergarten to present. It's almost like you're are being taught by one your own friends who will help you in any way possible, im taking her for hum 102 next sem since i need it for my major, but even if i didnt need it i would still take just because she is an incredible teacher.

Hruby is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I had her for 101 and am in her 102 class. She is very passionate about teaching and wants her students to succeed. She explains everything well and really prepares you for the exams. Definitely take her!!

I took this class b/c i had to but and i hated history. After i took this class,i fell in love with history and art! We only get like a 5 question take home quiz every week for h/w

Awesome teacher! She makes class really fun and you learn a lot. You take a lot of notes, but she uses a power point and shows movie clips and explains everything too, so the material is easy to understand. I'm taking her 102 class now because i really liked her 101 class. Definitely take her class, you'll really enjoy it!

Summer session is hard bc you still have all the work- paper, hmrk each week and 3 or 4 tests and final. she's super nice but stict on attendence.lots of notes but some movies too. i loved her but i think summer is hard

I had her for Hum101 and just had to take her for 102. Shes very smart and knows what she is talking about she will help you whenever you need it. Lots of notes but they are great becuase tests come word for word from the notes. GREAT TEACHER!!!!!!!!!!!

I love her!! I had her for 101 last sem. and am in 102 now. Yes you take lots of notes and its mostly lecture but the tests are exactly on the notes! She's really funny and sweet and gets to know you. take this one for sure

I absolutely LOVE Mrs. Hruby! She is young and really easy going. I didn't want to take 101 because it's earlier history, but 102 was AMAZING! She is so passionate about what she teaches and she lectures on power point and has interesting movie clips. We play jeopardy before every test (lots of fun!). Best teacher for HUM!!!!

Took as online class. The Test reviews could use some improvement as to what to study for. However, the PowerPoint's were very helpful, and the chapter quizzes were easy A's. She is also VERY easy to contact, and gets back to you usually the same day. Recommended :-)

I actually saw myself wanting to go her class...very interesting stuff if you participate...you only use the book when you have to fill out the unit review packet...but over all BEST TEACHER for hum 101 :)

took her for 101 and 102, never walked out of her class disappointed! it's not a blow-off class, but it's not impossible either. i left each day wishing the lecture could go longer! hum was only gonna be an elective but her class made me want to major in it, and i couldn't be happier about it! take her!

My absolute favorite teacher. Also one of the easiest class I've ever taken. As long as you take notes you are going to get an A. She makes the class fun and she's attractive so that's an added bonus. But overall I learned a lot and enjoyed doing so.

This teacher is WONDERFUL!!! I took her online humanities class and I could not have asked for a better teacher. All of her quizes, tests and finals are taken at home. You can use your notes at all times. As long as you do the work it is an easy A.

AWESOME TEACHER!!! homework is a "packet"(3-1page ONLY THING YOU USE THE BOOK FOR) due at on the day of the test, you only have 3 tests and a final a semester. She is funny, outgoing, and makes this class fun. tons of opportunity for extra credit. She has a paper, written on ANY event you attend that you can relate back to HUM, BEST TEACHER BY FAR!

One of the best professors out there! Her class was so interesting i hated hum 101 and i was dreading to take this class but she keeps you awake and want to learn. Her tests are really easy as long as you study!

Took online class, loved it. Quick to answer questions. Gives you some room to work at your own pace. Four mandatory postings, four exams including final. Offers EC. Has good PP but def need to read book to pass tests. Enjoyed class overall, would take her again and I wasn't looking forward to a hum class at all! Def learned a lot!

I hate Moraine Valley. Mrs. Hruby is the only thing that makes me continue going here. Not only do I as a future teacher want to be just like her, I consider her a lifelong friend. Sweet, smart, adorable, and the perfect example of an AMAZING teacher. As for class, e.c. for perfect attendance, don't buy the book, and lots of note taking.

I took her class online and everything was very fair and ok except the tests in the testing center. They had allot of questions that had nothing to do with the things she put on our study guides or the things in the power points. You really have to read the book if you want to pass the online class.

Mrs Hruby is by far the best teacher that MVCC has to offer. I took her for 101 and 102, merely because I loved going to her class. She is the reason I want to stay at MVCC and not transfer. Hruby is the 3rd best teacher I've had at MVCC, she is a very good one. She makes it fun, and gives you chances to boost your grade with in-class assignments and extra credit. I sure wish Mrs. Hruby was around when I took Hum 101, I would have liked it more. Hruby is beautiful too, I wish she was single. Definitely take her class !

i took this class out of interest and gen ed requirements but now i am thinking about majoring in art history. she is sooo nice, hilarious and probably the fairest teacher you'll ever have. exam is easy if you pay attention and its like no other you'll ever take. my favorite teacher of all time

Best teacher at MVCC. She loves teaching and people love going to her class. She is very good teacher, does everything she can to help students do their best. To good in class, you have to pay attention and take all the notes, if you study the material, you should have no problems. She is a great Hum teachers and makes you want to learn.

After taking this class for the third time, I finally found a teacher who I enjoyed learning Humanities from. She is extremely helpful, specific and sweet. She gives extra credit and participation points. A lot of note taking, but if you're like me you won't mind it too much. Excellent reviewing for tests. I would totally take her again! A++++

I adore her. Took 101 last spring, take 102 now online. In class is a lot of lecture but she is funny and tells lots of stories to get stuff across. Online is hard but she answers questions fast and there are 3 tests and extra credit. She is by far my favorite teacher

Love love love. Took 102 after 101 with her, and it was amazing. She completely changed my view on this subject, and I am a history major now bc of her. Class is mostly lecture, video clips, extra credit, and a few group things. She is super sweet and hilarious - seriously, I consider her a friend.

I love her. Took HUM 101 and taking 102 with her. She is clear with her lectures and is hilarious. She always has a positive attitude and is always willing to help. There is no way to fail this class. Only if you don't do the work.

She is easily one of my most favorite professors I have ever had! Her lectures are interesting, and they make you want to learn! While she doesn't mandate attendance, it is to your benefit you attend every class because exams are lecture-based. The study guides are nearly identical to the exams. I would take her again a million times if I could!

Took her online humanities 101. easiest class. She literally gives you everything you need to get an A. If u don't get an A ur just lazy. Take her online. No need to go to class. She's a gem and very nice

I loved this class. It is almost all lecture, with video clips and a few activities, but I feel like I learned a ton that I didn't know. Tests are hard if you don't go to class but if you take notes you'll be fine. She gives lots of extra credit too so if you fail it's prob bc you didn't go to class.

i love this class- but one of the hardest ive ever taken. attendance isn't mandatory but good luck if u dont come. class will b impossible. grade is only from tests, no other points. i love her, but my bf dropped bc he got thrown out for sleeping! shes not a pushover at all even tho she looks young. take if u want to learn, avoid if u want easy A

TAKE HER! She is awesome, loves what she does. Definitely need to try and care, but it is easy. Take notes, read the needed chapters, and you will be fine. Study guides are just like the test. I LOVE Professor Hruby!! Her teaching is so conversational that her classes go by in a matter of minutes. Learned a lot this semester, highly recommend her. Treats you like an adult. She is such a sweetheart and I plan on keeping in touch with her even after this semester ends. She is not only a professor, but also a friend.

pros: learned a lot, open book textbook tests, easy to get in touch with her and she writes you back fast. cons: super hard tests, very strict on deadlines, and tons of reading. overall, really enjoyed the class but you def have to work for it

She's a very nice teacher. You will pean ALOT from this class. SOOOOO MUCH READING, if you dont have time to read dont take this class because you'll fail. 3 unit test and 3 open book and nots quizzes no final.

I only took her online so I can't say about regular classes. Online summer is hard. 3 tests, lots of quizzes, and a TON of reading. She is dead set on deadlines and wont budge at all if your late or forget. Beware if you dont want to read.

Hruby is hilarious! She makes her lectures so interesting bc she understands that they tend to get boring. She always incorporates her own personal stories into almost every lecture. Very sweet person. I'm actually taking her 102 online for the fall (: take her!!!

Love Hruby! She has a ton of energy and loves what she does. We take notes every single day though so if that's not your thing, beware. She's also WAY more strict than she looks, so don't push her or use your phone in class! SHe will take it away

this is for online only. i took 101 and 102. both are set up the same way. 3 tests, lots of discussion boards, a lot of reading, but nothing hard to understand. due dates are really strict, she won't extend anything if your late or miss assignments. she answers email so thats good. prob an easier class than others.

Amazing teacher who actually follows her presentation. By this I mean you do need to buy the textbook, bc she has an open book test with a wkst and if you have the book, A+ for you .. . As for the tests, its literally word for word her presentations. Such an easy A and she is so passionate, it makes class fun! Class isn't mandatory but do NOT skip!

The Best teacher I had this semester, the way she teaches is amazing will make you want to focus on this class more. It was the first class in the morning but I was always motivated to go to that class because in that we actually learn stuff and she is also funny and have a cute bright smile.

As this was an online class, it was very heavy reading. Each unit had a discussion forum on Canvas, a few quizzes and an exam. When I had questions about the answers on the quizzes, Professor Hruby met with me and let me defend my answers and raising my grade. She really was very fair about it.

I loved this online class because there were two units and you were given 2 months to complete each unit at your own pace. There are simple reading quizzes with unlimited time that help you earn points. The tests are hard because the questions are very specific and it is timed! Easy paper and and easy 20 point extra credit assignment

3 units, 3 assignments per unit & one paper. She provides all material needed to complete the course. If you read/watch the videos, it's impossible to fail. However, I did feel we only learned about women of liberal preference which left out a few other important women throughout history...

unlike other profs who teach online, she was always very polite when I emailed her with a question. there are mini-quizzes where you have to watch a video and answer the questions,very easy. 3 unit exams (read the ppts. and go back to them if needed) No final, 2 easy papers easy going prof. Extra credit queen- paper (20 points) No Proctoring.

This was a breeze for me! Super easy never worried about this one. All open book and three EC chances, one each unit. She gave me a ton of feedback on all of my writing which was nice - most here barely even read the stuff I turn in. She's very friendly over email and writes back same day! I'm taking 102 soon.

I absolutely loved this class!!! I didn't know what to think at first but ended up being my favorite this whole semester. Hruby is really good and interesting and genuinely likes what she does. I have had so many teachers who don't care but shr really does. the reading is kind of hard sometimes but it's really not bad. Hands down favorite class.

She cares about the students and treat them with kindness. She is very knowledgably and experienced of her teaching that it fits most of students' learning styles. Her class is always fun because she uses her sense of humor to entertain students! 3 open notes tests, 3 closed notes, & lots of extra credit. Prof Hruby is truly the best of all times.
