Dr. Dussek makes really nerdy jokes, and teaches in a very comical manner. He refers to civilizations as being "sacked", too funny. He is also very nice about make-up tests and extensions on assignments.

Great teacher. Took the class online. Is really helpful and gives you plenty of time to get your work done. Tests are really easy as well.

Very good teacher! Not only does he explain everything clearly in class, but he is open to questions at anytime to clarify any confusion that you might have. He is friendly, and cooperative with makeup assignments and tests. All in all, he is a true teacher. If you have to take history, take it with him!

One of the best teachers I've ever seen. He is clear, easy to understand, and will work with you on all assingments so that you can get a good grade. He is friendly, and always willing to help you. He also focuses on the important things, and not on remembering 1000 dates.

He is a very nice man, very easy, helpful. Too bad there aren't more history teachers like him and LESS like George Warren who is the WORST teacher I've ever had (and there's more out there just like him unfortunately! Esp. at UNCC!). If you have to take a history class make sure you get Mr. Dussek. If you don't do well it's not his fault at all!

He was easy and that's really all that needs to be said. And although you can miss class, I suggest not missing a lot of classes just because he's a very interesting person and he's british and has a wonderful accent. :) great teacher. Very helpful and lenient.

I had Dr. Dussek for His111 and he is terrific professor! Very well organize, and everyday he comes in with a smile with an attitude that he enjoys teaching and helping. He teaches mainly off of powerpoint and his material are good stuff and funny! Even if you don't like history, he makes it enjoyable and your really do learn. Hes a TRUE Professor!

Mr. Dussek has a love for History and it shows. This was not a class I was excited to take, but he really gets your interest in all the discussions. I took the class online and it was a lot of work, but there is tons of flexibilty and time to get your assignments done. Great teacher! Highly recommend!!!

Mr. Dussek is the best teacher I've ever had. You should absolutely try and get into any class he teaches. His lectures and clear and interesting, and he really enjoys what he does.

Really laid back, yet very responsible. Grades all assignments and test quickly. Awesome attitude, great powerpoints. Powerpoints= stuff on test. It's also really funny when he starts to get all excited with the topic at hand. He trys to hold it in, but he really geeks out. Great videos and images to go along with his powerpoints. Take his class!!!

Dr. Dussek is a GREAT professor. His classes are pretty fun (he is always showing us something from youtube). He is very easy and gives a ton of extra credit - not like you will need it. His tests come from the slides, so you need to go to class. He has a wonderful British accent so it's fun to listen to him.I would take him again if I could.

He is an extremely good teacher. I really loathed having to take a history class so I put it off until my last semester. Once I began the class, I actually enjoyed the class and learned much. If you don't do well in this class, it's your fault. He gives you every opportunity to succeed.

Took this class online. He's the easiest grader for a professor I have ever had. One assignment per week, 100 words. Three tests, no final. Discussions every two weeks. Easy, interesting, helpful. I ended up learning a lot. I don't know why you WOULDN'T take his class! He's awesome. Grades very fast, and he loves what he teaches! Great class!!!

Awesome teacher! I never had such an engaged and animated professor. He explains everything very well, tells you very interesting things, and always answers all your questions about the material.

Professor is a great professor. His test are extremely easy, 50 question, all multiple choice. Easy questions like, "What is a river in Egypt?" Super easy. He was funny and quirky. Cool British accent. Just do the work, come to class, and you'll be fine. Never even opened textbook. Allowed everything to be turned in late.

He was so awesome! When I was selecting my classes I checked him out on this site and all the review were very true. This is the first time I've rated an instructor. This class had a decent amount of reading but the material isn't that bad and test are fair and simple. Whatever you do try and get him!

All assignments require some thought. But as long as you do the reading that is required you will get an A.

Mr. Dussek is a timely grader and his summer session class ended a week early. He is on top of any issues his students may have and doesn't overwhelm you with work over the summer. The summer session ended quickly and I would definitely recommend this teacher.

Enjoyed Professor Dussek's online American History course. Took as a required class, but learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed! Definitely take him!

He was a great online teacher! His quizzes came straight from his notes so were easy. He gave multiple research options for his weekly discussion posts & only required it to be 100 word minimum. He accepted late work in my class & I still got full credit for the few I did turn in late. I found his class to be interesting & easy.

This class was amazing! The book is required (rent it on Amazon it was cheap). As long as you read the book (which isn't much reading), few papers, and tests are simple if you review the study guides. Prof. Dussek wrote out all of the assignments in the syllabus, if you want a good grade FOLLOW IT! If possible, take it online.

If you take this class and do not get an A, you are lazy and honestly pathetic. I literally needed at 49 on the final to get an A. Gives tons of extra credit. DOES NOT CARE ABOUT LATE WORK. HW is all online and can be turned in literally anytime, and its easy. Simply go to class and pay attention.

Mr. Dussek is a very good teacher. The grading criteria is clear and assignments are simple. If I had a question Mr. Dussek always had the time to answer them . I had absolutely no problems getting A on almost all of the assignments and I indeed have learnt a lot.

Easiest history class I've taken. I hate history, this was a breeze. Online has 1 disc. a week (very minimal to contribute) 2-3 tests through out semester, if you get stuck on those the answers are online. There are 2 papers to write but honestly they are a breeze too. Just follow the prompt on what he wants and you will pass easy. easy elective

One of the most caring Professors I have ever had. No deductions for late work which made my whole semester less stressful. Lengthy tests but if you review a good bit, you will be fine. People sit on their phones in class which I think is RUDE as he cares so much about his students and treats us with the upmost respect.

Dussek is the type of teacher that makes you want to see your grandparents. He is so charming and has his little corny jokes. He tries to make his class bearable, but sometimes you can get a little sleepy. He lectures and has a PowerPoint, it's easy because you only have to show up on reveiw day and get the important things that are on test.

Literally all you have to do is create flashcards for the material covered on review day. His lectures and experiences can be interesting and sometimes boring. Group "activities" at least once a week which are pointless. Do the quick writing assignments (less than a page) and review for the test... I needed a 12% on the final test to get an A

Took online over summer only 8 weeks. Read his notes and he gives you a study guide for each test, if you do this, you will get an A. Discussion boards are frequently used.

He is the one of the best Professors at Cpcc. He cares about his students, alwas response to email and phone calls. I learned alot in this class. He makes history very interesting

This was a fully online class. Weekly reading and discussion posts. 3 writing assignments. 3 unit tests which were easy. 1 research paper. 1 final essay. Due dates are announced well in advance and expectations are clear. Would take Dussek anytime again. Easy A as long as you read and put some care in your research and writing assignments.

This class was amazing! This class was online only. Do the homework and you will get an A. He gives great feedback on assignments. The tests are open book and open notes. Really interesting assignments. You will not be bored. I would definitely take another class with this professor.

I took the class for 16 weeks- one discussion post a week that I finished in less than 5 minutes. The tests are open notes (pasted all notes onto a google doc) and I got a 100 on all of them. Projects are straightforward- easy to fake it till you make it. Final essay took me 30 mins. Super easy class. I loved his lectures too- so funny. No textbook

Professor Dussek is amazing!!! I had him last semester (fall 2021) and he was great. He takes late work and doesn't take off points for the assignment being late. The tests are very easy and the homework was easy as well. I would never take more then 10 minutes on the discussion boards because they were also easy. He is overall very funny and kind

Professor Hugh Dussek is a-ma-zing. I took both HIS 131 and 132 through him and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. Although it was online, it was very easy to understand. One 200-word essay discussion post a week, three simple projects with lots of freedom, and three 50-question tests. It sounds like a lot but the tests are very easy!!

Professor Dussek is great! He is very kind and caring to his students. His lectures are very clear and easy to understand. Not a lot of assignments or tests, also provides ample time for each assignment. Highly recommend!

This course was fairly easy. One chapter per week with a discussion, project or test (3 tests/3 units).Tests are open-note and a study guide is provided. Not a tough grader, just follow the rubric and you'll do fine. SA wasn't too bad and there was no midterm/final exam. This course just goes a bit more in depth of HS American History

I really enjoyed his class and who he is as a person. He seems to really care about his students. His grading is lenient and he does not have much of a late policy. He also is interested in what he is teaching and is always trying to learn more, which improves the class.

He is the most amazing history professor to ever exist, and I say this when I hate history. This class was so easy, barely any work. Three tests that are online throughout the entire course. No assignments on test week. He also doesn't take off points for late work as long as you turn it in at the very end of the course, also super sweet and funny.

Honestly, such a great teacher. He doesn't give much work, nor does he assign classwork. His lectures are very lively as he is such an upbeat professor. All of his assignments are online and are not very difficult. As long as you do the assignment, you will pass this class with flying colours. Plus, he is also very lenient with late work.
