Lots of homework but it barely even affects the grade. Tests are worth 70% and he doesn't prepare you for the difficulty. It's like being taught to ride a bike through the homework and getting sent down a mountain on that bike on the tests. Not a fun time. At this point, the class is taught by Teaching Assistants which isn't all that bad. The homework is pretty easy, and the tests aren't too difficult either. Class is very boring, and having mandatory attendance makes me feel like I'm having my time wasted some days. If you have no programming experience take the lab as well, it helps newcomers.

This class is basically online using zybooks, most of what I have learned is from independent study from the zybooks work. Professor Kwon's lectures clear up any questions and addresses common issues. Overall, this class heavily relies on your discipline and working through the assigned modules.

Dr. Kwon's lectures were packed with information. The notes don't always have the clearest direction, so recommend going to class. The tests are somewhat hard, but there is a practice test beforehand and they're open note. The material is dense and sometimes you can't see the usefulness of it. Dr. Kwon handles it well though.

loved Dr. Kwon, very informative, very clear speaker. he went a little off the rails with some big picture stuff towards the end, but the first 4/5 of the class were super well organized and structured. his tests are EXACTLY like the study guides, which are released with answers and are open note. if confused, copy answers down exactly

You will not see Hugh Kwon outside of the very first lecture. He puts all of the grading, lectures, and lab supervision on the TAs. the lab was just to work on HW and the lecture was 2-3 HWs behind. If you have had some programming before, this is easy, if not, it will still be relatively easy, as the homework is an interactive textbook.

TA-taught class, optional attendance except on test days. 40% of the grade comes from online textbook work. Labs are usually quiet, I used them to work through the textbook. Tests are very similar to the mock exams, programming tests are easier than textbook example programming tests. The lectures are helpful if struggling, otherwise not worth it.

Attendance is very optional. The lecture is taught by a TA. Tests are really similar to mock exams given as practice. If you work through the Zybook for understanding, programming tests are also really easy. If you're familiar with any basic programming language, picking up Matlab will not be very hard in this course. Canvas is very organized.

Dr. Kwon's class was super easy for me. I only attended 1 lecture in person, and that was on the first day of class and I was fine. As long as you do the zybooks assignments, you should be good. There's some open-ended coding problems that are confusing but, if you throw it into chatgpt, it handles it no problem and offers an explanation.
