As a compatriot, I really don't want to give him a negative comment:-( His lecture is really so boring. He use the word "maybe" on the lecture very often and that make me feel he was not so sure about what he teached. But he is very patient to answer your questions.Labs, assignments and exams are not so hard (but a lot).

Professor Hui is amazing. He is so helpful, kind, funny, informative, and passionate about what he's teaching. He stays after lectures to answer any questions students may have, and he spends a lot of time to help students with the requests they have. Go to his lectures, do the labs, and understand the material in his slides, recipe for success.

Had Minas, and then switched to his section and never looked back. Ask any student in the department, if youre going to take a prof for 2031 you should take it with Hui. If youre the type of student that works hard, and can understand East Asian accents, then this is the guy for you. Ask any student, his RMP rating should be at least a 4.

Not the work CS prof, but his lectures are very boring and his accent is hard to understand. The weekly labs take a long time but are mostly doable if you follow the lectures notes he posts. However they're worth really little. Lab tests are OK and are based on the labs, but the midterm and exam were very difficult, testing us on trivial concepts.

He's the best instructor for EECS 2031. Provides great lecture notes, manageable labs, from which you can learn a great deal from, and his lab tests and exams are all fair and doable. He's also a very nice person because he listens to his students and wants them to pass or get good grades. He tends to put in quit a bit of effort into his teaching.

One of the best EECS profs. Guaranteed A for 2031, just make sure to do the labs by yourself and spend time understanding it. He usually makes the labtests similar to the labs and trys to combine the 'harder exercises' together. As for written tests make sure to go to lectures, he tends to give lots of hints. Also, you will mainly do ANSI-C(89). Gl

Nice prof but hard to understand imo. This course is time consuming (not even my major) I taught myself most of material, as much as u can, try & do well on assignments since tests r on the hard side. He also doesn't respond if there's a prblem.

Professor Wang was so caring, and he taught material using everyday analogies so that computer science would be understandable for non-majors. If you attend all lectures or listen to his recordings, this course is easy A/A+. Assignments are time-consuming, but he is always available to help with assignments during his office hours.

He is very nice and wants all his students to do well. He has cut out a lot of the unnecessary parts of this course so that students can have an easier time. Don't worry about the accent, you will get used to it and understand him clearly. He posts lec recordings so you can always rewatch. His assignments are actually pretty fun imo

Hui Wang is a nice guy; he teaches well with a heavy accent. However, his lab tests are EXTREMELY more difficult than any other professor teaching this course. Lets use an analogy: He teaches 1+1=2 in his lectures, then his lab tests have you solving the millennium problems. Avoid taking EECS 1022 with him.

he doesn't prepare practice questions for the exams, he asks hard detail oriented questions as multiple choice and you have to read lots of slides which is impossible to memorize. so prepare to get lower grades on multiple choice test than actual coding. I skip the lectures, he has an accent and I don't understand most of the things he is saying.

He reads off slides for a 2030 class and goes while skipping parts saying "we will come back to it" and gives us other slides on eClass Announces in-class quizzes last minute. His accent is thick and he has no real lesson plan. Has the hardest tests (you can get a 0) with no feedback and harder mcq tests

Dont take this course!

Dr Wang has good intentions but this course in general is bad. His accent is very thick and there are lecture recordings but you can't see or understand anything so not useful. He's decent as a person, but his teaching was not it. The R lectures were the worst, be prepared to teach yourself how to code; his explanations were so insufficient and unclear for the R HWs, and lectures were often confusing and rushed. The only thing he was clear about was content on upcoming tests. Strong accent, but you get used to it quickly.
