Hung Duong is easily the most adaptable, sincere and eager to help teacher I have ever had- especially in math. Could NOT recommend a better, more precise learning experience for statistics.

Being a statistician, his understanding of Stats is WONDERFUL. But to say, he doesn't know how to explain very well sometimes. His exam's revisions and homework questions are somehow irrelevant to the actual exam. His grading is EXTREMELY generous - you thought you gonna have 80%, while he gives you 98%. A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED teacher,5/5 stars!

A will to help students from A to Z is this teacher's first priority. The level of understanding in Stats is excellent. If you want to expand your understanding about Stats, then take his class. One thing to mention, his accent is sometimes funny to listen to, but except for that, every of him is PERFECT!

Great Guy!!!! Take his class!! Gives you extra credit for attendance and test retakes if you do bad and a sample test which is pretty much identical to the actual test. Walked out with a hard on a few times but duong is more than wiling to help if you stay late!!

I took AP Stats in high school so I knew more than most going in, but he litterally spends the entire first week teaching you how to make a histogram and how to find mean, median and mode. Like second grade stuff. Easiest A in the history of math if thats what youre looking for. If you are taking stats for a profession, choose a different teacher.

He was extremely enthusiastic about the subject which made it a lot easier to learn and listen in class. I could tell he really cares about what and how he teaches his students. He was always helpful in that he made sure everyone understood the concepts he taught in class before moving on to the next one. He's super understanding with late HW!

This teacher is one of the best in GRC. Easy class and sample exam is provided before the test, so you can actually practice with that. The test format is 90% same. However, if you actually want to learn something, I dont recommend this class. If you are a student who just want to get grade, go ahead and take this class.

Mr. Duong is an amazing math professor. If you don't understand the material, he will try his best to be there for you and help you get the concepts. He is extremely considerate and generous when it comes to extra credit and grading. I am not very good at Math and did not expect to do well in the class, but I surprisingly did which is encouraging.

This class was extremely boring. He goes through everything very slowly and does many examples, which can be helpful but I found it boring. He is very nice and there is minimal homework. The tests are rather odd grading wise, but fairly easy. Also offers extra credit. Attendance is extra credit. Textbook was online.

Hung Duong was an amazing teacher. He really wants the students to understand the content and does trick you on test. He gives you a practice test and the order of the questions are the same on the practice and the real one so its easy to understand. He helps you if you don't understand something. I previously got C's in math but got an A in his.

Mr. Duong was always caring as he wanted to make sure that every student understands his points. He is always willing to go over things with you if you are confused. He was always so positive and has a silly personality that you just can't be bored in his class. He really encourages you to work hard in stats and tries to make it fun.

Professor Duong is amazing! I strongly recommend him for any calculus class. I only had the chance to take calc 3 with him. I guarantee you will get a 4.0 in his classes. Just do the practice tests, homework, and try to get decent scores on his Monday quizzes. Don't worry if you fail a test, you have various opportunities to raise your grade.

I took him for MATH 256 (stats) and he was so amazing. Easy A, but you have to put in the work and study/show up for lectures. I found that he made math fun for me and I ended up loving his class.

Even though he gives lots of homework (like for one week, we can receive 3-4 homework), he is the very best teacher I've ever had. I mean, homework does make students practice better. He is not a tough grader. You can easily get a 4.0 in his class. His lecture is simple and understandable (SUPER CLEAR). He also answers questions comprehensively.

One of the best teachers in GRCC. His lectures are understandable for everyone. It is really important to not skip lectures. If you wont skip lectures youll do good on your test! He checks attendance and helps that ones who come every day!

He is great teacher. Clearly and thoroughly explains things and does not move until he is assure class understands. He is available for additional help if needed. Lots of patients. I was nervous to take stats but was told he is a great teacher and highly recommended. I agree and have referred anyone that needs to take stats to him.

Amazing lecture! Each study guide is helpful. If you attend the class "everyday", your grade will be +5% at the end of the quarter. Exam3 is harder than previous two exams. His is one of my best instructor!

An AMAZING teacher! His lectures are very simple & necessary in order to do the online homework (There's about 22). The book isn't mandatory, just come to class every day & take good notes. There are sample exams given prior to the exam which are similar to the actual exam. He takes attendance every day for extra credit. WOULD 100% TAKE HIM AGAIN!

Hands down the best math teacher on campus. I highly recommend taking his class. Lectures are very clear and well planned out for students to learn at a reasonable pace. You will have to work for your grade, but all lectures and hw assignments are designed to help you excel in the exams.

Math 256 with Hung was fascinating. I am grateful he taught the class Winter 2020. You dont need to buy the book. Just come to class and take good notes. The practice tests on WAMAP are the same as the real tests, just the numbers are changed. Dont be afraid to take Hung Duong.

Hung Duong is the best teacher I have ever known. I like him and will remember him because he is very good at math. He is doing his job very well by giving good and easy lectures for complicated topics in math. Math 256 was my last math class, but I regretted not taking my other math classes with him. There were 3 homework assignments on brand new topics every week. Each one of those hw assignments had a written assignment to go with it. each hw assignment had usually 3 hours of recorded lectures per. The lectures are very long but they help you understand. A lot of hw and lectures but he seems like a nice guy.

Course was pretty straightforward. Graded only on homework and discussions. No exams. The lectures were long (adjust the speed), but he went over many examples. Helped me understand the concepts better. The hw problems were similar to the examples so it was fairly easy, but he will also answer any questions you have.

Professor Duong was a professor who you can tell is very nice, even without meeting him. In Calculus 1, there was a fair amount of homework, although most of it was not super hard. His lengthy lectures helped explain the concepts very well. I came out of the class enjoying Calculus a lot, but maybe that's just me. He played a part in that though.

I took this professor literally 6 years ago and I just thought about him because he is the best math teacher Ive ever had. I went from getting 1.7 gpa in a previous class, to 4.0 with Duong and I literally got the highest exam score at one point (will never forget this because I thought I was such a failure). He explains math like its easy!

Mr. Duong was a wonderful teacher who truly cares about the success of his students. I appreciated the fact that I could get in contact with him and he was quick to respond to questions or concerns that I had. The videos and examples help make the information make better sense. If I had to take another math class I would only take his class.

I loved this Professor! Very long video lectures, but thorough, and that's what I needed! The online HW had to be written in part for online uploading. Prof. Duong is great. Although the lectures can be very long at times, they are useful and informative. The homework can get overwhelming, however, so do not let yourself get behind.

He's wonderful at teaching, he goes over things multiple times which is very helpful, and since his lectures are recorded on YouTube, you can fast forward or skip or rewind things as much as you like. Very easy class and very understandable. One of the best teachers at GRC.

The teacher's online course is very simple. Mainly reply to a discussion every week, attend lectures and finish homework. There is no exam for the teacher's class! Professor Duong is an amazing math teacher! There are three homework assignments due each week, but you are given them a week prior so you can work ahead. There are lectures for each piece of homework but are very easy to follow! If you have any questions, he messages back quickly. I highly suggest taking a math class from Professor Duong!

3 homework due per week. Pretty flexible with extensions. No exam the whole quarter even though the syllabus says there'll be. Only downside is his lectures are WAYYYYY too long, so I ended up studying from the textbook. He has a thick Vietnamese accent, so might be hard to understand. Just do the work and you'll be guaranteed an A+.

Professor Duong is genuinely one of the best professors I've had. His passion for math is evident and he's very supportive with making sure you're understanding the material. His lectures can be very long at times so I highly encourage you to not waste any time. The class lectures and set up is clear and he truly cares about your grade.

Mr D was an absolute pleasure to learn from. We were supposed to have 2 exams but he got swamped with work so we got lucky and our entire grade was based on homework and weekly discussion posts. If you do the work you will excel in this class. He cares very much and his lectures are amazing. You would be lucky to have him as a professor.

Solid professor. I missed a few assignments but he reopens them if you ask. Sometimes his lectures are long but I just put them on 2x. He gives a reasonable amount of homework and responds to emails within a day. He is straightforward, will work with you during office hours, and exams are not too difficult. Stay consistent and you will do fine.

By far the most caring prof I've had at grc. We didn't have a final because he believed cramming all the concepts in a week wasn't healthy and he allows extensions. Uses WAMAP, textbook is free, exams are multiple-choice, and I barely stressed in this class. If I take any other math courses I'll definitely look for his class. 10/10 recommend.

Literally the EASIEST math class I have ever taken! Professor Duong knows how to teach stats incredibly well! This is my 2nd class with him (took PreCalc 1) and this was even better. Had a 20-credit course load (this class included) and the homework wasn't even that time-consuming. Just make sure you know how to work a scientific calculator!

Lectures varied between 1 hour and 3.5 hours weekly. However, he explains material in a clear and understandable way. Made Calc 1 pretty easy to learn. There is "online homework" every week where you just type in the answer on WAMAP. Also "written homework" where you have to write out your work for a couple of the online HW questions and submit.

He is a good professor, the assignments are clear and fair. The homework load is manageable. The lectures however can be a bit long and tedious.

grading criteria is in ur favor. 5% extra cred for attendance. lectures are usually good but he can move fast/be confusing at times. 2-4 WAMAP hw a week, and 1 quiz each Sunday (quizzes are p easy though, just practice a little beforehand). sample exams r super similar to real exams. final is cumulative. MAY allow exam corrections. just study

ONE OF THE BEST MATH PROFESSORS. Gives out unlimited extensions, extremely friendly and nice, shows alot of examples, two exams (10 questions with one extra credit) and one final, they are all pretty decent. I enjoy his class alot and barely stressed. HW was similar and he is accessible outside of class and always willing to help. TAKE HIM IF U CAN

Awesome prof! I expected to struggle w/ this class but he provided so many clear examples during his lectures that helped me a lot. Another thing I appreciated is that the HW is the bulk of the weighted grade, & you get 5% extra credit added to your final grade for attendance. Exams aren't too difficult either (practice ones are very similar).

Mr. Duong is a very dedicated professor. Genuinely cares for his students. Would take him for the rest of my math career if I could. Discussions once a week, with extra credit if you respond within 24hrs. He was also willing to work with you during non-office hours which I really appreciated. Lectures although long were detailed. Wish him the best!

His lectures can be long, however, they are crucial in helping you manage your workload from WAMAP, the techniques he offered are much more understandable than the ones you search online. One of my favorite professors at green river. Would recommend it if math isn't your best subject.

Easiest math class I took. attendance is "mandatory" but I showed up 50% of the time and it didn't seem to affect my grade much. All tests are multiple choice, does not doc down for late work and can get as many extensions as needed. Loved this class, super easy, take it!

3 multiple choice exams, 40 questions in 90 min, not hard imo. HW was harder than exams. He gave us no final! 1-3 HW weekly on WAMAP. Hours of lectures weekly, I put it on 2x speed. Allows endless extensions- no penalty. Concepts weren't too hard to get, just take notes while watching his vids. Took 21 credits this qtr and this class was fine.

Kinda lecture-heavy but not THAT much work. Low-maintenance but don't expect to pass the class if you never watch the lectures. But everything on the homework/quizzes is covered in lectures so no need to seek outside help. He's kind, understanding, and helpful when you attend office hours!

Professor.D is awesome, a LOT of lectures, but put then on 1.5x speed and then it's fine, everything is done on WAMAP, if you are stuck on a homework REWATCH THE LECTURES, everything is on there, other than that, know your material, can't really cheat in his class because all of the problems are word problems, so know your material, will be fine

This Professor if very passionate about maths making you more passionate about it! this in itself makes it easier to learn in his class as well as him having a good grading criteria means its very achievable if you put the work in.

Prof. D is amazing - he makes math enjoyable and accessible. Lectures are lengthy but digestible at 1.5x speed. unstuck study's tools were super helpful for acing the word-problem exams. Flexible deadlines and no final exam - a fantastic class!

Great guy explains very well, and the exam is related to what he teaches. If you're not used to his accent, it will be kind of hard to understand at first, but you will get used to it. Even though I took the class in-person, the midterm and the finals are online.

Easy A!! You can get 5% extra credit. Unlimited homeworker tries, 2 tries on just four short quizzes, exams are from homework. You get sample paper before exam which is simply carbon copy of the exam, so you know the blueprint, you know exact method how to solve the exact question number just by solving the sample paper.

A great teacher gets a little boring. Watch his videos, and you will be successful.

I always struggle with math and this is the first math class I've taken that I've passed without too much struggle. Mr.D's lectures were extremely helpful and with communication you could get extensions on homework, which you get unlimited tries for before the due date. He actually wants everyone to pass his class without stressing.
