I absolutely hated calculas, but he makes the material as easy to understand as possible. Very willing to help students. For those who have trouble in math and need a good professor, I highly recommend him! Took him a year ago and would definitely take him if I had to take another math.

He is an ok teacher but I do not like how he wants you to have hi sview on things and not your own. We had to write a paper and in it we had to say our view on something, I disagreed on the idea and I got a C on my paper because of it. I have As on everything else though, that is my lowest grade.

He is moody but the class is easy. He tries to come off as laid back but pretty wound tight. If you can just go with the flow and keep your mouth shut his class is an easy A.

I enjoyed going to his class everyday. He teaches so that you can understand it. It does not assume that you already know which is good. He is point blank the best math teacher in the entire department. I recommend him I will be taking him for the next math class that I go to. Best math teacher I ever had. If you go to class and take notes you should get an A or a B+. Most of his test anf final come from his in-class reviews and homework. And take advantage of take home qiuzzes because it is his way of given an easy A.

By far the best teacher on campus. Very helpful and it seems like he can teach pre-calc to a second grader. If you dont understand it he will help you out a lot. He uses a lot of real world examples to compare it to the information which makes it very interesting. I will recommend him for anyone. I SURE WISH HE WAS TEACHING CALC THOUGH.

Okay everyone, he is not moody or short tempered. He treats everyone like an adult. That means doing the homework, showing on time to class, and paying attention to the material. This is college and he is the instructor regardless of his personal opinions. Be adults take away something other than ill feelings toward him.

hes can be an ****, but if you can suck it up, youll get an easy A. if you ask a question he might have a sudden mood swing. Most of the time he gives a straight forward answer. he gets pissed off pretty quick but pretends to be laid back. he'll piss you off with the attitude but just stay quiet, hes slack. the i can't empasize enough, EASY A!

I did the work and went to office hours, and despite this I still got the feeling that he did not like me. He is not a good teacher if you have difficulty with math. Some people really liked him but if you want someone who is open to trying new things that work better for you don't take him.

Mr. Lindner is the best math teacher that I have ever had in my life. If you want to be prepared for Calculus, take him. You will have work to do. If you don't want to do work or if you're lazy, try TCC and that might not even work for you. Just get into Course Compass, the homework and go to class and you'll do well.

Amazing teacher! he is really laid back and has a sense of humor! I hate Calculus with a passion, but he makes it easier to understand. My only regret is that I wasn't able to do the first few course compass HW because I couldn't afford the key. Follow Course compass and go to test reviews! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

You need to take him. I made sure I took him for both M162 and M200. Yes, you need to study and pay attention but he will always help you. He tests you on what he teaches, it's really not that complicated.

TAKE HIS CLASS HW(25% of the grade): by course compass(.com) fairly easy Only from stuff he explained in his lecture Attendance: mandatory but he gave us a lot of Fridays off tests and exams: 5 tests and a final exam tests are from homework and lecture notes and he give a whole class just for review be4 each test which is great( take this class)

Nice professor. It's calculus, so you can't expect it to be easy. Go to class, listen, do homework, if needed go to his office hours, you will get an A in the end.

I have taken him for precalc and calc. His teaching methods are crystal clear & he will only test you on properly covered material. He is always available for extra help, but you must be willing to put in WORK to this course. He grades hard but FAIR. Do your HW, attend class, & you will reap the rewards. I couldn't ask for a better math teacher!

Forgets to record a B grade on a test, accuses me of not taking the test when I have the test in front of me, gives me an F in the class because he didn't record the test, and then tells me that I should have fun spending my parents' money and partying at the frat house when I only had nice things to say to him. 'Nuff said.....

great professor, only teaches you what you need to know. If you go to class, do the online homework and review the material he says to study for the tests you'll do fine. If the class doesnt understand the material he will postpone the test/hw. one of the best Prof's i've had.

He's alright, kinda goes on random tangents a bit. But, he'll get the point across. Don't aggravate him; he has a short temper. Tests are HARD. He won't let you fail if you try hard, like doing the optional textbook problems or going to office hours. Again, He's alright.

Awhile back somebody typed on here that professor Lindner forgot to put their test grade in and also made it seem like he stereotypes against fraternities. Well that whole thing written was about me and it was written in first person. The person may have had good intentions but Professor Lindner is a good teacher. He's clear and fun to listen to.

Great Teacher! He bent over backwards as long as you gave effort...those who don't like him must not have put much effort into their work or are the type of student that wants everything given to them. Would have failed the class without him!

I found he was a good professor, having pilots and military in my family I enjoyed the references he made. He is a good teacher but fair, I forgot a pencil to an exam and he shrugged and said he couldn't help. However, he allowed me to run out and grab one from my car (luckily I parked really close). I would love to have him again.

For those who give this teacher a poor review, I hang my head in shame. Professor Lindner is one of the BEST math teachers here at ODU. BUSCalculus made me unsure of what my GPA would be by the end of the class. However, after taking his class I'm sure my GPA will shoot through the roof. This class has caused me to appreciate math more than ever.

He is a good prof. Gave my class tons of extra credit opportunities and he wouldnt move on to the next section unless everyone understood the material. He is also very funny. I got a B and I didnt do half of the online HW.

I had my ups and downs throughout the semester but overall I liked this professor. I found him pretty easy to understand. Only had a problem on one test and luckily it didn't affect my overall grade. He is pretty sarcastic at times but not overkill. If you like math I don't see why you wouldn't do well in his class.

I had him for Math 163 and when our instructor for Math 162 took a leave of absence for her pregnancy. GREAT instructor. He only test on what he teaches. If you do the homework problems, go to class and office hours, and study for the test (i.e. do problems similar to the study guide) you will have an A+. I finished MATH 163 with a 100%.

I was unsure about signing up for his class because of the bad ratings as I alway get advice from this site. HOWEVER_Prof. Lindner was clear, kind, respectful, kinder to the students than any other teacher ever. He explains Math in a way that people who are afraid of Math understand. I am very grateful to have him for Math200. I learned a lot.

Some of these reviews make Prof. Lindner sound mean, but it's the farthest thing from the truth. He's very caring and helpfull and is a great professor. I really enjoyed his class.

I was skeptical in taking him at first, but my schedule somewhat forced me to. I am glad I did. He was very clear. Kept things concise, and to the point. The Mathlab, and textbook hw, along with the test review before each class was EXTREMELY helpful. You have to do the above to be successful. I didn't at first, but eventually did.

I really like prof Lindner. He's really easy to go see if you have any problems and homework isn't mandatory but you should do it. Takes attendance. The tests aren't easy but he tells you exactly what is on them so they're fair.

GREAT TEACHER! My favorite teacher since 2nd grade. As long as you aren't an immature freshman taking calc for the first time you will be fine. He is extremely helpful. Always lets you know the exact type of problems that will be on the test. Do the homework and go to every class.

I took him for 3 different classes and got an A in all 3. If you do your work and pay attention in class you can get an A. Very helpful met with him during office hours and he helped me learn what I needed to pass the class and keep my GPA up.

Amazing teacher. I could not say enought about him. if you have trouble with math he is some how capable of teaching basic algebra while simultaneously teaching a upper level calculus problem. He has good office hours and often stays behind till you are done, he really is there for you and he has pride in that.Take him!

He is extremely sarcastic and very funny. He may dumb down things a lot, but it is seriously way easier to understand what he is talking about. His tests and quizzes are usually short. He posts grades like within the week the test/quiz was taken. He only test what he had covered in class and he always keep his office hour opened.

GET THIS PROFESSOR. He is possibly the most entertaining teacher I have ever had. He works hard to learn everybodys name, & is always in his office during office hours, which are very convenient. If you want to learn calculus the right way then take it with Mr. Lindner. He does an awesome job recalling past information needed to know for the class, and really goes into depth to make sure you understand the subject. He was easily the best teacher I've ever had.

I had him for MATH163(A+) and that course convinced me to take him for 200. He ONLY tests on material covered and reviews are identical (some problems literally) to the exam. Lessons are outlined and structured. Book work isn't necessary, but MyMathLab is required. Excellent professor in my opinion, recommended for prior military members.

Mr. Lindner is the GREATEST professor I have ever had. He is more than willing to help you, if you are willing to help yourself. Go to his office hours and get to know him, not only as a professor, but as a person and you won't regret it. Take any of his classes any chance you get. You won't be disappointed. Once you know what he expects you to do, then you are set. DO HOMEWORK, you use it for your quizzes. 3 Tests, 4 quizzes; no more than 10 problems each, so know how to do them by practicing the sections assigned. Go to class, and office hours. He records everything. If I could take him for every math class for the next four years I would.

If you do your homework and prepare for the exams, then you will have no problem. I recommend for anyone who is prior military, he is clear in lecture and consistent in the material that he tested throughout the semester. The final was difficult, and I felt many problems were more complex than the knowledge that was tested during the exams.

Lindner is a really great teacher. He is practical and attempts to apply what we are learning to real world experiences. He sometimes confuses what he is teaching and can mix students up a bit, but his class is overall good. I would recommend him to anyone.
