This is by far the best teacher I have ever had, primarily because he is hilarious. I might already know all the content of this class, but I go to class every day because of how funny he is. In addition to that, his accent isn't very strong (so hes easy to understan), he is good at explaining every concept and cares about your understanding.
Mr. Dinh is the BEST math teacher I have ever had!! I wish I could have him for every single math class ever because he's very funny and makes learning math super easy. As long as you show up and do the work you'll pass easily
I can tell that Professor Dinh loves his job and he is a fantastic teacher. He respects his students and they respect him. He is very knowledgeable and makes every class enjoyable. Every day I learn a lot and laugh a lot. Professor Dinh knows how to perfectly balance serious learning and fun and I would definitely recommend him.
He's very straightforward- do the online homework, take the tests, do the work. He does not take participation unless enough students are missing from class. He's very good at explaining everything and his class is very interactive. He will always take questions and address any problems you may have.
This teacher is hilarious whilst still being able to teach the material in a very understandable fashion, making the topic fun whilst still helping the class succeed academically.
He was great and funny. I never new that laughing in a MATH class was actually a thing until I had him. He loves what he does and would say " Don't you guys love Calculus? Isn't it so much fun?" Apart from being smart, he knows how to explain things when you ask.
Always willing to help and explain the material if you do not understand. He is young and yokes around a lot.
He is great! I would highly recommend taking his class. He cares about his students, as long as you show up.
Professor Dinh's class is one that i could miss every day but you dont want to because he makes class fun. There are absolutely zero tests and he goes over the quizes in class
This professor was amazing. He makes jokes all the time and always gets right to the point. He goes over exactly what we needed to know for the homework and does the quizzes in class. Would highly recommend!
I could learn the math on my own, but I come to class everyday because he is such a fun teacher. He always makes class interesting and I learn the content faster when listening to him teach.
He is so funny. This class was a very easy one and it flew by with all the corny jokes he made. He told us not to try and pronounce his name and just to call him "Yo Dog" for the rest of semester. The math we studied was basic algebra. Easy A and a fun class.
Professor is so funny and makes the class fun even though he doesn't require you to be there. Somewhat hard to contact outside of class, but usually don't really need him outside class. Does the homework in class and quizzes aren't too bad because he goes over the material.
Professor Dinh is very funny and somehow made stats less painful. I can't say I fully understand everything, but he walks you through the steps and goes over the homework in class. He's sassy and often ends class early because he doesn't want to do math anymore. Even though you technically don't have to show up, you should so you can pass.
He was a great professor and if you're really bad at math, I highly recommend taking Dinh's class because he goes over every single homework assignment
Huy made Probs and Stats a bearable class - and even though he never counted participation I always wanted to go to class because his humor is the best. He understands that no one wants to be in this class, so he always goes through all of the homework and even the bigger assignments. He made a lot of the quizzes "take home" too.
Huy was amazing! He made my statistics course so much fun and easy to understand. He usually got straight to the point of what we needed to know and helped us understand both our homework and projects. Plus he was so funny in class. His humor made the class enjoyable and would highly recommend if you are taking statistics!
Professor Dinh is very funny and it makes his class fun to attend. Dinh does a good job of explaining the complicated projects and assignments but the course itself is very complicated and unclear. I don't feel like I learned probability or Statistics, I feel like I learned how to get points in the class without doing the work..
Funniest, nicest professor ever
Best professor I had at GCU so far! Very nice, funny & always willing to help. Class wasn't hard, when though subjects were covered he gave lots of examples w/ good feedback. He would curve grades or give you another chance when you mess up. He skipped some material that was unnecessary as classes are designed by GCU and professors just teach them.
Doesn't actually lecture, just reads off the slides. Not very helpful. Had to teach myself EVERYTHING!
Funny guy, keeps you engaged.
Professor Dinh is great. He is funny and makes class entertaining. We only had a few exams the whole semester though we did have homework and quizzes. These were all fairly easy if you followed along in lectures. He is very laid back and answers any questions you may have. I would highly recommend!
One of the best professors ever! I was constantly laughing from his jokes and was always excited to go to class. PreCalc is a difficult subject, but he definitely made it manageable. I would highly recommend taking PreCalc with professor Dinh!
Dinh was a gem. He's funny and keeps class light, but also is really good at teaching. I was able to understand concepts well, and he gives great answers to questions. Office hours were also amazing. He wants you to do well and will help you however he can. I'm taking him again for calc 2. 1000/10 would recommend.
Professor Dinh is a really great prof. While calc is hard itself if you pay attention and do the homework (HW is graded for correctness btw which sucks), but is actually really beneficial in actually understanding concepts. He also curves the tests a pretty significant amount and very understanding during this more challenging time. TAKE HIM
DINH IS A GEM get him whenever possible. His exams are hard but he curves. He is a very good teacher, excellent at explaining, lets us ask lots of questions. Also HILARIOUS will not fall asleep. He does everything he can to help you pass and just explains things so well and we get our early a lot! Take him, I have for two semesters. Best teacher.
Huy is easily the best calculus teacher I've ever had. While calculus is a difficult subject in itself, he explains things really well and makes them easy to understand unlike many calc teachers. He is also really funny and makes class enjoyable. I would highly recommend taking him for any math class.
Professor Dinh is funny and makes MAT264 approachable. His lectures are excellent and they often include homework problems so you must attend class. He gives paper tests rather than using WileyPlus and is more lenient about late work but he will still deduct points based on GCU policy. I highly recommend professor Dihn for any math class at GCU.
Professor Dinh is an excellent professor. He teaches exactly what you need to know for the homework and exams. Show up to class and pay attention! Ask questions if you need to. He is very helpful and available outside of class during office hours. He has a much more lax attendance policy than most profs do at GCU. I would 100% recommend taking him.
Professor Huy Dinh is by far the best professor I have had at GCU! Just pay attention in class, do the homework and assignments and youre golden! This professor is there for you and willing to help you get the grade you want if you are a hard worker! Super lax on attendance and the assignments are manageable, he is available outside of class too!
Super nice guy, he made stats really easy to understand. He was the best professor for math Ive ever had, and he made the assignments super clear in what was expected.
Very chill guy all around, everything from regular class to tests are very laid back for the most part. Very down to Earth and most definitely a, by the book sort of guy. Cracks some good jokes in class every now and again too :). Overall he is honestly a great professor and I would love to have him again in the future.
He was my favorite professor! He makes class fun and cracks a lot of jokes to break the silence. I never regretted going to his class. He is straight to the point and lets you out early every day. He is super helpful and wants you to succeed. I would love to have him again! You'll love him!
Calc with Professor Dinh was always a highlight of my week. I took calc in High School so it was mostly all review but he taught the material very well and lecture was easy to track with. He's really hilarious, so if you take him get ready to laugh. He answers questions well and made everyone in the class feel comfortable talking. Highly recommend!
He makes math more interesting with his personality to crack jokes at times. He does a great job at explaining how to work through problems and never shames anyone for asking questions. Professor Dinh makes math more understandable.
best professor at GCU
Professor Dinh was an amazing professor! I had him for Algebra and Pre Calc. He is a funny teacher and makes a lot of jokes. Attendance is necessary if you want to understand the upcoming homework assignments and also always has time for you; either in class, math center or office hours. I definitely recommend him.
The best math professor at the school
He was a very funny and helpful professor. I don't think I would have understood calc as well without this teacher. Knew what he was doing and had fun mat lab projects that had clear instructions. Very funny guy and let the class out after he completed the lector. Would take it again.
Best professor. Don't take anyone else for a math course. Answers questions, is available outside of class, and always finished class early.
Best professor to take for stats. He is very helpful in class and goes over the homework and notes. The class is a flipped classroom but its super easy because he goes over everything. He is very funny and understanding and easily accessible. I recommend taking him over anyone else!
Dinh was absolutely hilarious, and made calculus so easy to understand! He always makes sure to take the least complicated route in solving problems. Once the lecture was over we were allowed to leave, he never held us there just because the class period "wasn't over." Highly recommend!
This professor is amazing, made an impact in years of learning. I would say to take this professor as he can explain clearly and is very easy to talk to. He clearly goes over homework and assignments which guides you. I would 100% choose this professor every single time; an amazing professor does make a good difference.
Professor Dinh is THE best math professor at GCU. He was very informative and willing to help others! I am terrible when is comes to math, but he worked with me, and I earned an A. He is very funny and will be more than willing to help if you have any questions. He also goes over the homework in class so you don't have to stress at home
Hands down the best math teacher ever. He made statistics so easy for everybody. gives a bunch ton of problems to practice, lectures are not mandatory but I would recommend going because literally goes over the homework. The best part is the way he teaches and doesn't hog you till the end of class. I would fight to get this teacher.
The best professor at gcu hands down. If he is an option, take him. I had him for MAT-261 and MAT-252, both ended with an A+. We get out of class early every time and participation is optional... if you want to know what you are doing though, you should attend class. He is funny and has some office hours too.
very funny and was overall a great professor, notes are required and doing the homework is vital to your grade but he does the homework in class so its very easy to get a good grade, test are very easy as long as you know how to use excel
Professor Dinh was an amazing statistics teacher. He explains all the important and necessary content needed for the homework and does many homework problems with the class. There is a lot of homework, but I think that's a general thing. The is one project for the class, but he explains all the steps (and basically does all the work for you).
Dr. Dinh made sure everything learnt in class was on the slides for students at the end of each week. In the starting topics you might not need to show up, but later on it is a good idea to attend. This class can be difficult at the end, but he makes sure to tell you exactly how to do problems and what excel sheets to use!
This teacher was a fantastic teacher, though the class is not mandatory to attend he does go over the homework during class and basically gets it done before the anticipated due date. Going in I thought STATS was going to be super hard, but with the way he taught and went over the questions it made it really easy to understand.
Professor Dinh was the best math professor I have had! You don't have to show up, but he goes through the homework and project in class so it is very easy to get 100% on them. He also attaches the PowerPoints for review. He only lectures for the first hour, you can leave or stay if you need help with homework. I would definitely take him again!
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU CAN! Professor Dinh was such an awesome person to be around, he was funny, smart, caring, and helpful. For every single homework assignment that we had, he would go over it with us and explain in very simple terms how to do each problem. He is very thoughtful in his approach to teaching and he never once confused me
His class is probably the easiest class I have ever taken. He is funny and doesn't require daily attendance. He grades participation by checking notebooks during the midterm and final. He gives a template so it's basically just plugging in numbers and recording your answer. There's a project but he does it with you so it's insanely easy.
He is awesome. Made math make a lot of sense. ALEKS was used so a lot of online work. I have him for another class next semester and literally have the worst time slot for math just so I could have him again. If you can take hime take his class. Takes a while to grade, but grades are also in ALEKS. He is also funny.
One of my favorite professors at GCU! I loved his class and all of his lectures. The class overall was pretty easy.
Professor Dinh made statistics easy to understand. His lectures were straightforward and easy to follow and he was available to help when needed.
I struggle with math but this professor made understanding stats so simple. Used PowerPoints to help you with the homework and how in class office hours to help you. Which was so helpful and I did not feel judged at all asking questions. He is has such a dry humor to which was entertaining. Overall super recommend Dinh!
This professor is great!! Go to his office hours if you have any questions and he will really help you out. He explains all of the homework topics in class and posts the slides after. The mid-term is difficult so just make sure you studying ahead of time.
His lectures are just reading off the slides, doesn't teach the concepts in depth. He helps you do everything via excel though and the lectures are very short with only 1 exam in the class. he is very easy to approach if you have questions however.
Professor Dinh reads his lectures off the slide but guides you through the homework, which is super helpful when it comes to finishing the homework! He has a "notebook check" of notes for midterm and the end of the semester however, he gives you time to complete it and turn it in, nothing crazy. He's very approachable for questions, which is a plus
Professor Dinh was a good professor, however he does go through the problems pretty fast. Since everything is on Aleks now, some topics might be locked, so make sure to write down how to do the problems while he's going through them. Also keep those notes for participation. He is very helpful with topics you struggle with.
Bro is goated
Fantastic teacher, and funny, too. I went into the school year without calculus experience, but he does a fantastic job at explaining the thought process and patterns in class. Make sure you go to class, as it will save your grade and help your understanding greatly. I had to do a little outside learning, but always preferred to be in person.
Dinh teaches you exactly how to solve all of the homework and quiz problems in the easiest way possible and shows you exactly how to complete all of the MATLAB assignments, making the class an absolute breeze. He focuses more on solving problems than teaching concepts so if your into math theory plan for self studying, otherwise he's the best!
I have personally always had kind of a rough time asking for help when it comes to math & I quickly learned that professor dinh would never make me feel bad for asking questions. He was very enthusiastic and cracked a lot of funny jokes in class to make students more comfortable. He is very accessible outside of class as well and was happy to help
Mr, Dinh is by far the most straightforward and easy-to-understand math teacher I've ever had, he's willing to meet the class where they are, reiterate important concepts, and is in general, super down to earth. If you have the option to take him against anyone else PICK HIM!!!
Lectures were super short, but he took his time explaining the topics. Made everything simple for us to understand. Much better than any professors I've had before.
Professor Dinh doesn't require you to come to class if you are understanding the material, but I recommend you go anyway! He explains things a lot better than the math platform does. He is super sweet and very chill
Professor Dinh is a good professor. The best part of his class is he goes over all of the homework problems in class, and shows you how to do everything. And he posts all of the power points he uses in class. He does speak kinda softly, so it is best to get a seat towards the front of the class for optimal hearing.
I only went to the class in person because that's how I learn better but I do recommend going in person because he teaches how to do the work in an easier way than ALEKS does. He also gives an Excel worksheet to help and you are allowed to use it on exams 2 and 3. Harder to get feedback so if you need help you do need to go after the class ends.
Easy class with no required participation, Dinh is a funny dude. Nuff said
He made our class a 'flipped classroom' where we did not have to come to class if we did not want to. He didn't ever lecture, he just went through example Aleks problems in case you needed help. The only days that I went into class was for the midterm, final, and for the major project (he gives you the answers).
Professor Dinh is super funny and a very nice professor. He makes power points that help grasp the content and are super helpful. Participation is given is based on ALEKS completion which is awesome. Overall he is very nice and takes a potentially difficult class and simplifies it.
Make sure to do all the assignments to 90-100% for a high grade, the exam reviews are identical to the exams (just switch the numbers) so as long as you retake them (unlimited attempts) and do all your homework you will be sure to get an A you just have to put in the work. His lectures can be boring often times I found myself learning outside.
took for DifEq. Legendary teacher. He's super out of pocket and his class always made my day better. He's super helpful if you ask questions and explains steps very cleanly in lecture. Usually ended class early, but still felt super confident in material. Overall one of the best professors ever!
This guy teaches math really well and answers questions really well. If a question is really hard, he'll get rid of it. Not much else to say, this guy's pretty good.
Pretty good professor, i never payed attention in class just did the homework's and did a bunch of practice problems and was able to pass with a A. But he does explain the lectures well and posts them right after. If we don't cover anything in class, he makes sure not to test you on it.
Huy Dinh... the man, the myth. the legend. A figure of unmatched grandeur. The math King of unparalleled magnificence. The supreme monarch of splendor. A regal sovereign of legendary stature. The absolute GOAT. Best professor I've ever had anywhere. 1000% would take him again. No class will ever match his greatness. Huy Dinh is a real one.
Teaches everything that is needed to take exams and do homework. Will skip problems if unnecessarily hard and even take them off of the homework for us. Participation does not matter but you should take this class.
He was an extremely good teacher, and while attendance wasn't mandatory, he explained exactly how to do every problem on the homework/ exams if you went to class.
Dinh was very funny and gave great instructions. He clearly explains what is one the exams and is super helpful if you need him to explain something. Super chill guy and stats was so much easier because of his teaching.
