Very bad professor. I do not recommend him. He will totally ruin your gpa. You can't understand anything he says, he's very unorganized and his powerpoints have misspellings! The lab work wasn't even helpful b/c we never got the labs back before the test. And students always argued with him over test questions once we got them back.
Very bad teacher. Labs have nothing to do with the class. Powerpoint are horrible. He doesn't explain anything, all he does is read his powerpoints and e-mal them to you. Do not recommend him.
i took him for nutrition on Fridays-extra long class time, and could not understand a word the man said! i mean its not just his Nigerian accent but also he is so lazy he mumbles everything!but his class was easy got an A i basically taught my self, and he offended me sometimes b/c of his spanking kids views but over all lectures were boring
He was very nice but it is really hard to understand what hell is he talking about. He will give a review before the each tests and all you have to study the review and study guide that is on the website and you will do good on the exam.
He is hard to understand and his notes are just read straight from the board.
He was awsome! Yes sometimes hard to understand, but his powerpoints are straight and to the point. His test come STRAIGHT from his power points. If you look else where, you will mess yourself up. I highly recommend him. If you need clarity, don't be rude about it, just ask and he will clarify. He is definitely about helping not hindering students
I took him for A&P I. He is the easiest professor I have ever had. The class is so much fun. He teaches well too. He gives out the review and the test is almost exactly the same. He gave us 2 take home exams. I would definitely recommend him. It is hard to not to make an A in his class if u try. He has an accent but i can still understand him.
He is difficult to understand (because of the accent), but he was willing to explain things we didn't understand. He likes students who show an interest in the material, and in learning (duh). Print out his power point presentations and you can understand him better!
I made an A in the class, but only because I read the book and printed out his powerpoints. I couldn't understand a damn thing he said, his accent is so bad. He also had no control over the students in class. there was a lot of cheating going on with him right in the classroom. He is a VERY NICE person, I just wouldn't recommend him as a teacher.
This professor is horrible. You can not understand what he is saying, he just reads his powerepoint and does not make sure you understand. I would not take him again and if you want to learn something do not waste your time in his class. We did not even do lab. He is very lazy and unorganized.

Complete waste of time! He is rude, inappropriate, and unprofessional. He is unorganized, frequently late to class, and does not teach at all. His tests are hard because he is such a terrible teacher-all he does is read off slides. If you have any interest in this topic. don't ruin your opportunity to learn. Being in his class is PURE TORTURE!
A real nice guy - but unorganized, scattered, incredibly difficult to understand (thick accent), not good at explanation of concepts, typically late to class. That aside, study the slides - you will do well. Grades on a curve, gives easy bonus questions, labs are a joke - never even graded them - just checked to see we did them. Easy A.
Nice guy, but sux as a prof. His teaching method is awful, he only teaches from his powerpoint slides, absoulutely boring. Do not take if you want to learn. His tests are hard & beware he might even mix them up & give you the wrong grade. He'll tell you what to study, but it's not on the test. VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND!! Save yourself.I didn't learn
He is not too bad. He does have a heavy accent, but you can ask him to repeat himself. He does grade on a curve and he is not about failing his students. Just study the powerpoints and if you still don't understand, then read the book. I pass his class.
I took Bio 1406 & 1407 w/ Prof Chukwu. Notes for all his classes are online and easily accessible. I recommend reading these beforehand because his accent can be a bit incomprehensible. He's helpful and gives reviews before exams which are not difficult at all. He's pretty good; I'd recommend him if you're not interested in studying Bio in depth.
H.Chukwu is a good man. He definitely has a sense of humor and nice personality. He is not letting his students down. I would recommend him to my friends.
Attendence is expected, but silly since labs are useless and lecture is online.He reads a powerpoint instead of lecturing. Very nice man, but gets off topic easily. I like him, but if you need to really learn - do NOT take him.

Nice instructor! I took him this 2nd summer.Hard work led to my success of having an 'A'.Try and listen to his teachings in class, take good notes as most of what he says in class are usually test materials.He is a great user of powerpoint which are quite self explanatory.Above all, he grades on a curve with attendance and some bonus questions.
WOW! Wonderful professor. I learned alot. Very knowledgable. Helpful. Gives test review. If you do those you will atleast make a B. Participate in class. Gives power points which are also on the test. Straight forward. Test are kind of difficult, but if you study powerpoint and reviews both online and the one's he gives in class you'll get a B.
Took Dr. Chukwu for A&P I. Very helpful & informative. He provided us with a review 1 week prior to each exam. The exams were straight from his powerpoints & the review. He was a little hard to understand sometimes, but easy to follow for the most part. I would have taken him for A&P II, but he wasn't teaching this summer.
Prof Chukwu is funny and knows his stuff. He teaches as well as give tests from his powerpoint presentations. If you ask, he will take the time to help you to understand. At times, he is hard to understand but overall, you get what you earn in his class. Not hard at all.

Dr Chukwu is a professor with good personality. He gives good explanations on his lecture powerpoints, and his reviews are easy to understand if you read powerpoints. His class is never boring. He listens to the students questions, and always ready to help with good answers. It was a great opportunity learning from him.
I would not recommend this professor. Very unorganized and does not help you at all. You really can't understand him especially when he gives you the exam reviews (which come from the actual test itself). The Lab Final was completely different from the review he gave. He also includes new material on the current test so prepare to study ahead!
If you are not good in biology, don't take this class because he didn't teach anything. Hard to understand. He just put out the power point presentations and read it, not explain anything. No lab, he is really disorganized. The worst teacher I have had at HCC

Bad teacher! You might think some of the reviews are exaggerating but he isnt a good teacher! Goes off topic to stretch class time, makes things up about biology and only READS the powerpoints! I'm a bio major so I did well but I know he's hard for other people! Unless you can study bio by yourself, DONT TAKE HIM
Although you have to work hard for an A... it's very possible.. and I learned a lot. If you're willing to work.. take him.

Professor is very hard to understand. Only teaches from power points. If you have the time to teach yourself biology then go for it, otherwise, do not take this class.
Get ready for some independent studying because with this teacher it is a certain guarantee. He reads from his own notes, does not explain things, and you can't even understand him ! I wouldn't take the time to write this review if I was exaggerating, I'm warning you if you don't have a advanced understanding of biology already, you will FAIL.
His lectures are long and hard to conceptualize. He is strict on coming early and actively attending. Best way to survive this class is read the textbook before class and take good notes during lectures. It is a lot of independent learning.
Power points are pretty useful when it comes to studying. He is big on participation.
It's hard to understand him especially when he goes in depth on one of the slides. After a few lectures it's easier but pay attention. If you've taken a biology class in highschool this should be easy. He bases his tests off his powerpoints that are available online but his reviews are unreliable. Don't buy the book just read the powerpoints.
Took for A&P I. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!! He is VERY difficult to understand and he is incredibly BORING. He reads directly off of a power point so going to class is basically pointless. He also goes off topic a lot. His test reviews are confusing and none of the info presented on them is on the test. Probably the worst teacher I've ever had.
Great lecturer. Background reading is wise.. Funny, willing to help and made my summer classes worthwhile. Success is absolutely yours if you study hard, attend to reviews and cooperate with serious classmates.
I recommend any student who want to take A&P 1, 2 to take Prof. Chukwu's class. Chukwu will make you understand the course very well and ready to help when needed. He has open door policy and always in good mood.

If you need structure and clear understanding when learning, do not take this guy. Tests are hard but if you slave away and study the book of notes he made you buy, you can pass. I love Professor Chukwu!! He is funny and he knows his material. I got a B in his class. I had to study really hard to get a B. If you study you will do well. Also, he likes for you to ask questions in class, that will get you extra points at the end of the semester. He will tell you that in the beginning of class.
He is an easy teacher but if you actually want to learn the information then don't take him. He is hard to understand, goes off topic a lot, and you will get bored. He takes attendance at the end of the class. He gives a review before the test, and it has majority of the test info however make sure you know mostly everything on his power points.
PLEASE RUN!!! I Love biology but this has been the worst class I've ever taken. His tests are not the same as lectures and the lectures are from 10 years ago. When someone made a petition against him, he acted 10x worse and would complain about that during class. He would also talk about controversial topics that had nothing to do with biology.
There are questions on the exam that are from chapters that weren't supposed to be on the exam. Difficult to understand. Lots of significant errors in his exams. Does not answer your questions clearly.

I only had him for A&P lab. He didn't talk much in class at all. We just sat in the class and worked on our workbook the whole class. Didn't do any physical work in his class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF. I had him for AP2 lab. He doesn't teach at all. He sits at the front of the room silently listening to his music and you just work on the lab book independently. I learned nothing. Doesn't answer questions clearly and doesn't care to add structure to the class. Avoid him at all costs if you actually want to learn something.
He is better than some other A&P teacher at Spring Branch. He will provide you with the information you need to succeed and will not give you stress.
i had him for lab. apart from the fact he did nothing in lab. he didnt post the grades on time! i was supposed to get my grade so i can apply somewhere else he just disappeard and nobody could find him. very irresponsible
He is very knowledgeable, however due to his heavy accent and low tone voice, is very very hard to understand him. His reviews do help in the test, however you have to read on your own as well. His test are extensive 90+ questions multiple choice, matching and T/F. He is not specific when you ask him a question about anything. Very unorganized.
He is hilarious, this help a lot to ease the tension associated with A and P rigorous nature. He allows you independence by allowing you do stuff yourself but he is not leaving you alone, you are free to ask any question, he will try his best to answer.
I don't rate profs, but I'd to do this one. Read and understand his powerpoints, most of his exams questions came out from there. He is hilarious and funny. At the start of the semester, I thought I will finish this class with a B, fortunately, I'd A cos I read a lot. NOTE: You MUST read to pass. He's very PRECISE. TAKE HIM. Not a bad prof!.
Yea, he doesn't talk much in Lab class bcos it is a dry Lab not much is to be done. He leaves you to work on the Labbook yourself(I think its ok) nd if you have any question, he will do is possibly best to explain to u and the whole class. If he starts to Xplain evrytin in the Lab you won't have the time to work on the book. That book is HUMONGOUS!

Prof Chukwu is an amazing professor. Take his class and follow the rules you make your "A". I took him in my A&P 2 and 1. A lot of human parts to memorize but was not difficult because he gave us area of concentration. Take him you wants to make an "A". Student complain about accent, he speaks fluent polished English
Took him for A&P Lab. Although we did everything on our own, attendance was still mandatory. He's a bit hard to understand because of his accent but when you could understand him, he's helpful. Very patient and helps you IF YOU ASK. He's also really fun, cheerful, and has a good sense of humor.
He's a great guy but not the best Lab Professor. Students basically teach theirselves, even then attendance is mandatory. We work from a lab manual and find all the answers ourselves while he sits at his computer and plays older R&B music. Tests are 90 questions all are which are hand written with no word bank. Does not offer any extra credit.
Take notes. Review powerpoints. Pp vs textbook; Read related material. Tests and lectures are based off powerpoints. Not a serious proctor during exams. TEST REVIEWS are legit. Textbook is free via pdf, located in syllabus. Don't buy new book. 4 - 100 q's exams, 1 dept final 50q's consist of exam 3&4 q's and 50 q's dept regulated. +he's HILARIOUS
A&P1 Lab.... HARD!! Professor Chukwu is an amazing guy w a funny personality! You have to work HARD however for the exams. He gives verbal reviews, but its mainly what the exam will be over. This man is a joke and so is his class. He doesn't teach at all. His accent is strong and he speaks very low. Don't even think about asking him any questions because he wouldn't know the answer. All he does is sit at a computer texting all class. You will easily pass if you're willing to flirt with him and laugh at his corny inappropriate jokes.
This guy is extremely unorganized. Absolutely no structure in this class whatsoever. He makes up test dates as he goes. However, don't expect him to teach anything! You pretty much teach yourself independently every lab and turn in the book at the end of the semester.
This class isn't too demanding but he doesn't give lectures. His exams are 100 questions each . He only gives 2 so you're pretty screwed if you bomb one. We don't do anything in lab. Everyone works independently on their manuals while he sits at the front watching youtube videos.
You cant understand what he is saying, his test are 100 question. I repeat do not take this class, his accent is so strong and he wonder why we dont ask questions because we dont understand what hes saying. No test review, he gives the question by month which you dont understand. I hate i took this professor.

Forget about the bad reviews, this professor is awesome. AP is not a joke so you have to read too to compliment his lectures. Im taking his class for second summer (5 weeks) and Im impressed. hes from Africa and he speaks polished English.

Prof. Hyginus Chukwu is a great instructor that cares for his students, and I honestly have learnt quite a lot in a short-while of being in his class. The summer session is still on, but I had to come & review him even b4 it is over. Try not to pay attention to all the negative reviews. Prof. Chukwu is simply amazing & I'm glad to be in his class.
This is an easy class if you put in just a little effort. Prof Chukwu basically go over the topic of the day and the rest of the class time is to be used to work on your lab manual and he's always there for any question or concerns you may have while working on your lab manual. Very helpful review for exams! It was an easy class! Take him!
This is my dudeeeeeeeee right here. Easy A just as long as you study, plan ahead and ask questions ! He helps our a lot and loves his students ! Funny Nigerian man . Im going to miss this man
