He's the best math professor in the world. I had to take remedial math, and he never made me feel stupid. He wrote equations on the board step by step which made it easy for note taking. He didn't just tell you to cross cancel, he had the arrows and the slashed numbers so that when you looked at it later you knew what he was talking about.

He can only describe things one way, his way. He has a PhD in math and he likes to show that off to his students. He likes to hear himself talk, and chooses to use complex terms instead of simple terms, which is what he should use considering his students don't have PhDs yet, we are there to learn, not to bow down to him and praise him.

Dr. McKraig makes class easy- the tests are not difficult so long as you follow lectures and there's no homework. While this means tests are the only thing that counts toward your grade, he drops the lowest. Textbook was suggested but not needed- just use mymathlab He is also timely with email replies and respectful. Wish I could take him for 162!

Unfortunately, I had to drop this course as I did not have the prior knowledge that I needed going into it such as trig. and precalc 2. Precalc 1 was the only prereq. stated when enrolling but that is not the professor's fault. He's a friendly teacher and is willing to answer any questions. Though only grades in the gradebook are tests, so beware.

6 tests drops the lowest grade, I dropped his class after adding MDE61 expecting it to help. Not at all.. He would answer 5 questions from the homework then leave the class to go to his office for you to study on your own. I could do that at home. It became apparent I needed a lower math as a refresher. Cool guy, not the teacher I needed for math.

He is amazing at lecturing. He explains why we do the things we do in class and how to also solve the problems. He also has his notes posted in canvas for you to go back to at your own convenience. This really helps when studying for tests or doing homework. He releases a practice test about a week before the test. I would recommend doing them.

I haven't been in a math class in over 10 years. I did have a study partner that helped work through a few difficult homework problems but other than that if you fail Mr. McKaig's class, it's because you didn't try. Also, his accent makes listening to a math lecture easier. TAKE HIM!!! If I can do it so can you!

This was actually my second time taking Calc I because I was struggling a lot with understanding the first teacher I had took. I have to say that I was very impressed with Mr. McKaig. I do struggle with math in general but he helped me understand material through his lectures and examples. I recommend him. He knows the material very well!

Lectures were very easy to follow and made things easy to understand. However, he doesn't grade homework on MyLab, grades are only based on the tests, and as someone who is a horrible tester, this really screwed me over. I would do great on the homework, but many times the tests were just confusing compared to the hw
