too sexy.
Very symapathetic
HE WEARS HIKING SHORTS IN THE WINTER AND THE GIRLS LIKE TO STARE AT HIS MOUNTAIN CLIMBER LEGS.
Damn right we do!
Love him! Funny, sexy and intelligent. Thank you for the great year!
Tonnes of material, but very well executed lectures. Always chipper and friendly. Usually keeps the class on course / not too many side-tracking. Likes to answer pertainent questions. Nice to look at.
Loved this class! The teacher was nice, very interesting and obviously knew his stuff. Great Slide presentations. Tests were fair but challenging. I hope to have him again in the future :)
he's an amazing prof and very enthusiastic about his teachings
Great prof!!! Keeps the class interested always in the labs and always available to help those who need it. covered all the material he was supposed to and all in all rocked my universe
good teacher, fun and clear, makes class interesting and answers all questions.highly recommended.
nothing describes him and his classes except...EXCELLENT! Very dedicated to teaching.
realy hot in a weird way
i really enjoy this prof because he knows how to keep the class alive eventhough the some of the topics we are covering is dull. amazing prof. i enjoy attending his classes and labs
What? Hot?!? I dunno about that but he is very helpful. Makes many corny jokes that you just can't help laughing at. Take as much notes as you can so you don't have to read the crappy book. In fact, don't buy the book. Use another bio book.
The kind of professor that sparks your interest in the subject at hand and lets you actually enjoy the course. I had never taken biology in my life (took this as an elective), and I loved it.
Warning: this class and the lab are a whole lot of work! But the prof is amazing, he's so funny, you won't mind coming to class. Study for the lab quizzes bc you'll have a test in the end anyway. Really memorize the things you look at in the microscope. Be prepared to write fast; the prof talks fast
Well, he knows his stuff and can lecture well. But, if he screws up in marking an exam, don't bother bringing it to his attention. He will lie and cover up his error without giving you the marks you deserved. He will even claim the opposite of Biological knowledge to avoid admitting a mistake.
Hard class, but he makes it as interesting as it can be. He has a great sense of humour!! Overall I would recommend him
AMAZING proff!! made the class tones of fun!! is clear in his explanations and knows wat he's talkin about,ur sure to get a good grade u pay attention in class!
why did everyone invite the mushroom to parties.....because he's a FUNGI!!! sooo funny, i never thought id enjoy and 8:45 so much. and the labs, pure jokes. hes a good teacher and loves his work. sexy legs with those shorts ;) LOL
Awesome prof. Knows how to make a class and subject come alive.
Very good professor. Very fair, clear and helpful. Lots of fun. If you take 201 you'll get him. You'll love his classes.
excellent teacher! cares about his students, and is a pleasure to have as a prof. we definitely need more of these in the university world. offers office hours and gives everyone time to ask questions... very patient, and just a fun guy to sit in class with
he is the best bio teacher I had ever had. He is just cool and sweete to talk with. I enjoyed his classes so much and I hope that can take another class with him. This Teacher is a must have on your List!!!!!!!!!
This prof is a fun prof and has some quarky jokes. Makes class interesting and east to understand. Just make sure you attend all the lectures and you will ace the midterm and final.
Just the best! I took this class because it was required and was totally surprised. He made the material very easy to understand and it all makes a lot of sense. He is a great guy! We need more profs like him at Concordia
Wow, I have never seen so many positive comments about a prof before. Everyone put a happy face, so Prof Ferguson must be an excellent prof.
He was an awesome teacher! I got a D- on the midterm but ended up with an A on the final, so an overall of a B, and the reason for my high grade was of Ian, he's so helpful and funny and always up for discussions. Never had such a nice teacher in university in my life! i'm so not a science student and i had a lab with this guy! BEST TEACHER EVER!
Introduction to Biology for non biology majors: There is A TON of memorization and loads of studying for the midterm and final. It is a challenging course, and you must put a lot of work into the course. The prof wears shorts in the winter, and I'm perplexed as to why. He's a nice man, he's been teaching bio for a while now,he knows what he's doing
Just simply stellar! His exams are fair, material is interesting, makes funny jokes and he is quite lively and vibrant. He cares about students and their success. He is entertaining, and he makes you want to learn more about biology. Challenging concepts to learn at times, other things are very simple. It averages out.
Very heavy course load if you're not familiar with basic biology material. His class is very entertaining but you need to read thoroughly before attending his lecture of you'll feel overwhelmed as his pace is fast. I've never seen him wearing anything other than shorts.
He is an INCREDIBLE teacher. Not only does he know his stuff, but he explains it very clearly. He is helpful in class and after class, whether it be explaining things from class or lab, or asking permission for late submissions if needed. I recommend this teacher to everyone!! *PS, He wore shorts the entire semester, but at the final he wore JEANS!
making a good and clear description of biology for a binginner.
Amazing teacher, except for the excessive note taking. He answers any questions and knows his material really well.
i dreaded this class because i was so not into his teaching style or the topic. true, he tells cute little jokes and wears shorts all year (haha...), but he does talk really fast, and every class you cover more topics than you can really handle (in terms of absorbtion). some exam questions were surprisingly hard. but he's certainly enthusiastic!
Hes a great prof, keeps his classes and labs very interesting and is always available to help..
He tought this intro class as if it was'nt an intro class! REALLY BAD!
Great teaching, makes in interesting, easy to understand, tries to help students understand the material, all in all a superb prof.
liked him alot!
BY FAR THE most incredible profs out there! easy to talk to and cheesy, but motivating sense of humor. Very reliable and understanding...however, it can be challenging the course material, but is very strait forward and comprehendible. When he lectures he as though speaks to each and individual student.
This prof is a gem!!! not so may like him at concordia. He made this course the best course for me. He is so easy to talk to, so clear with his explanation, so approachable, i mean there is nothing bad about him at all. Also, he is Hot, and wear shorts all the time.
Take his course if you need to be "reminded" of how fun learning can be! If everyone took Prof Ferguson's course, everyone would want to be a biologist! He is serious when he needs to be and fun when he can be. Here is someone who really really knows what being a professor is all about!
Easy going prof, clear explanations & expectations, organized and has a sense of humor.
My first Biology teacher at Concordia, and by far my favorite, i would recommend taking this class with him 100% It's too bad he doesn't teach any other higher level bio's because I would love to have him as a teacher again, he's such a nice guy!!
Wonderful to attend lectures with Dr. Ferguson. Infectious enthusiasm and comprehensive understanding of relevant material. Great speaker!
I loveeeee this prof. He's the best, hottest, funniest, coolest Biol teacher so far. The lecture material is A LOT though, and you need to take notes, no slides =( rush your hand with his speed!
BEST TEACHER YOU CAN HAVE!! so amazing in every way!! gotta take him!
Very organized and clear, a good educator (soo rare in university!) You absolutely need to do the readings - don't be fooled into thinking the lectures are enough. Test/exams are VERY specific, so study hard and read the text!
very good teacher
Class attendance is mandatory or else you wont know whats happening. Excellent prof, great sense of humor which made class very easy to comprehend as some of his metaphors were the only things I remembered when I was stumped on a certain unit. I would definately attend more classes if there were more profs as patient as he was.
Great teacher! Kind, funny and ridiculously smart. To the point and interesting. The class itself is hard and lots of material, but he makes it interesting. His exams are hard though! But labs are fun. Overall, very happy I took his class. He's adorable.
I have never seen a teacher so organized in my life!!! It helps a lot. Very chipper, very very down to earth regardless of the fact that hes a genius. love him.
Yep. What was up with his final I hated that super general question about homeostasis. duh. ?? anyways he is yes very well versed in his teachings and tends to be very fluid in his words he is humble, wise, and kind. take him definitely.
I LOVE HIM! He's one of the best prof you can have at concordia. It's hard to find a prof like him who is an excellent lecturer and easy marker at the same time! Cover everything needed in the class, super nice and funny. This is one class which I was always looking forward to. I miss him so much since I dont have BIOL anymore.
Fantastic lecturer, one of the best in the Biology department at Concordia. His slides are clear and informative, he's very helpful and an overall fun teacher to have. He'll stop, explain and help you in the labs, and yes there is a lot of in this course. Not that hard of a marker, his classes are fun to go to.
I completely agree with the rest: Dr. Ferguson is an amazing teacher and you will not regret taking his class. e is very knowledgeable about the course material and presents it in such a way that he makes even very boring topics bearable. Also does an amazing job preparing students for the final. If you can, definitely take him for BIOL 201/225.
DR.FERGUSON IS AWESOME! He demystifies biology and makes it super simple to understand. He genuinely cares whether his students understand the material he is teaching. I'm looking forward to BIOL 225!
By far the best professor ive had, I find it unreal how someone can make a class so fun to go to, I skipped everyother classes i had, but there was no way I could miss his lectures, A+ Ferguson, A+
Basically 2 y1 bio courses in 1. Prepare to work really hard. Lectures were good but too much info. He doesn't give you his power points-must attend. Lab exam=EXTREMELY difficult. Study along way and make sure to never fall behind. Lots of lecture materials to know. Exams FAIR but tricky questions. Take another prof if you plan to not go to class.
Ian is a professor that knows his material very well but is horrible and communicating it to his students. He really need to let his students access his notes for study material, even if only for the final exam. He does not do any review for heavy course content. He skims over important topics and doesn't care about if his students understand.
BEST PROF EVER! I had such an amazing time in this class!! He speaks incredibly fast, and covers a lot in his lectures (which aren't in his slides). But, he's hilarious, and I was never bored. His class is a lot of work, but you really feel like you've learned useful things.
he's really helpful in the lab that goes with this class! He's really, really good! keeps his lectures entertaining with jokes/etc.
You cannot be bored in his class! Such a fun class, same with the labs! I really miss that class because you just don't get teachers like him any more :( There's still effort needed in course but mostly memorizing. However, just by attending lectures, doing the labs properly, you're guaranteed a B and above.
Covers material quickly, as a result - you don't have time to be distracted.
Dr. Ferguson is an amazing teacher. He covers the material quickly in class, but keeps everything basic and allows ample time to copy his notes down. His exam questions are straight forward and not tricky. He asks questions directly from his notes so review his notes as much as you can and you will do well!
This prof doesn't know how to teach! He talks so fast! He is nice as a person but a terrible teacher! Book is useless don't bother. His exam is really hard! Its an INTRO CLASS come on!
DO NOT MISS ANY CLASS, exams are based on the notes, and don't be worried, he REALLY gives you lots of time to copy. Very approachable, loves to answer questions if you had and if he has time he offers a review session on the final day of the course. Take him =)!
He is an amazing teacher and an amazing guy - I regret not going to class though, YOU NEED TO.
Excellent teacher! Very funny :) A lot of material so be ready to study hard !
Funny, clear, and knows what it takes to be a good lecturer. Gives ppl a chance to copy notes, which you must MEMORIZE (and understand) like nothing else, bcuz exams Qs come right off them. the study guide that came with the book really helped me.
Very good teacher. Easy to understand and loves his job. He knows the material inside and out and is very good at taking the time to answer questions during class. Read the recommended readings and you will pass with flying colours.
Dr. Ferguson is quite possibly one of the best teachers I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students, and it shows. I enjoyed his lectures, they were thorough and easy to understand. If youre thinking about taking biology and Dr. Ferguson is your teacher, GO FOR IT!
Too much material for the animals section... You have to be prepared to write all the time because he refuses to post his slides. For the exams learn all your notes and try to make your own notes from the chapters. And learn all the phyla and all their characteristics , one third of the exam is about the characteristics of different phyla.
Extremely clear. extremely helpful. extremely knowledgeable. TONS of notes. memorization is a must. study time is a must or you will not pass. great class. i would take him again.
Amazing prof! definitely take him. You do need to attend class and take notes and STUDY them. Once you do that, you get an A. He is always ready to help and answer your questions, always joking, and he wears his shorts even when it's below zero!! Take him without even thinking twice.
He is a great prof! Very clear and so helpful. He can be a picky grader but that is only if he can tell that you don't know what you're talking about. Take him. Study your notes and attend lectures and you can get an A.
Awesome prof! Attending lectures is a must(and they are always fun).Be prepared to write down lots of notes and study them. If you do so, you will get a very good mark.
Very good professor, and he had funny class when most of people took.
I absolutely love Ferguson. He is by far the best professor I've ever had. He is clear and knowledgeable, but you absolutely must go to the lectures and study. I am basing all my future biology classes on whether or not I can have him as my prof.
he is a very good teacher he never let you down
Ferguson is amazing, and everything you want in a prof - enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. Not an easy class though. Your mark will reflect the effort you put into it. Go to class, take notes, read the book and study if you want to do well.
He's a nice teacher who is enthusiastic about what he teaches and explains it clearly. His manner is a bit annoying for someone who likes to take very organized notes. He doesn't post his slides online and he makes extremely corny jokes that I find mildly annoying.
Fantastic teacher. If you attend all his lectures and take detailed notes of what he says it is very easy to get an A without opening the text book. He's always available to help during his office hours. The only bad thing is that he doesn't post his slides online so if you want to avoid reading the text book go to class!
Amazing professor. He's very funny and his lectures are clear and very organized. I never wanted to miss a lecture because it was so interesting. Highly recommend!
Easily the best teacher in the whole biology department. If you take decent notes during his lectures and correlate them with the manual you should easily get an A+ if you study a decent amount of time.
Good teacher and funny lecturer, but doesn't provide slides and talks very fast so you end up frantically typing notes for most of the class. Easy exams if you study!
Ian is awesome. His notes are really clear and he's super enthusiastic about what he's teaching. The exam questions are easy and straightforward.
great teacher
If Concordia University had all its teachers like Ferguson, it could easily compete with Harvard. It is a regret he is not doing any research at the moment. He should be an excellent person to work for as well.
AVOID!!!!!
He is the best teacher i take this semester. although we have to remember a lot in this class, but he makes things easy and clearif all the teacher are like him, we will take less time to review at home.
If you attend and take detailed notes during the lectures, you won't even need to use the book. Also he's so enthusiastic about the subject, which makes the lectures more enjoyable.
He's a great teacher, knows what he's talking about and will help you out with any questions.
Wonderful, knowledgeable teacher who's eager to help. He creates upbeat, enthusiastic lectures (full of funny Dad-like puns) and gives you sufficient time to copy down notes before continuing with comprehensive explanations. Exams are very fair. Class is so enjoyable it hardly matters that you're taking down notes like a madman. Highly recommended!
Ian is a true teacher, I wish all of my professors were like him! One of the most awesome experiences you will ever have, he is both knowledgeable and eager to teach, and can explain a complex concept so it's crystal clear. Take his course!
Best teacher ever! your notes are your guide and your grade he's fast make sure you keep up the paste
Great Teacher! Explains everything very clear! You have to go to class and take notes. If you study your notes then it is an easy A! The class is interesting and he makes time go by very fast! You have to study but as long as you do its easy!
Great teacher! Super enthusiastic! Fair exams. Memorize everything he said in class and start studying early and you will get an A. Don't buy the textbook
He is a good teacher and he is a bit fast. we didn't have slides for 225 so had to take down notes. Also there were bonus questions worth 1%. The test was mainly from his notes. Just need to study them. Lot of content so is important to start studying early
Great guy! However, you are forced to write/type the notes from his powerpoint slides because he does not post them online. He's not at all boring though, so you wouldn't want to skip his classes anyway :)
Mr. Ferguson is not easy and you must do your share and studying. You need to know almost everything by heart, which is crucial for a good grade. Average students beware. Students for easy grades don't try it.
I took him for 201 and 225. He was great for 201 but excepted student to know way to much detail for the 225 exams.
Took biol 225 with him and made the mistake of skipping a few classes. He doesn't post his lectures so definitely go to every class and take notes for sure. He also gives bonus marks so definitely take advantage of that. Final exam on animal section was such a joke. He didn't teach plant section though and that section was a bit tough.
Not posting lectures makes it really hard to ever skip a class! He's usually good with giving you time to write notes but you're definitely going to have to read to make sure you got it all! Midterm grade was worse than I thought it'd be but the final did not seem too difficult!
Good prof, funny and cares about the students
A lot of memorizing, a lot of reading, but if you stay on top of readings and don't fall behind you'll do good. He is a great teacher, really approachable. Don't miss a lecture though, he doesn't post his slides. So attend and pay attention and do the suggested readings before attending lectures, you'll understand a lot more.
Great teacher! Very informative in lectures. Important to pay attention to what he tends to repeat in class. Do your readings!
FUN! EASY! SIMPLE!
Lectures are very clear and easy to follow. Very friendly. Try not to miss any classes though because he doesn't post his slide shows so missing class means not having notes on important concepts. Very easy midterm.
He's my favorite teacher. He does not post his slides online so attend all the lectures. And they are really interesting . Questions all highly welcomed in or after class. Not many students in my class get A's compared with my other classes. But fewfewfew people fail it. Suggest for nonENGLISH speakers: try not to take this in your 1st term/y
very good in doing his job, lectures are interesting. very important to attend lectures in order to make your class notes that would spare you a lot of advanced reading from the textbook. questions are very welcomed. great spirit. i had his lecture at 8:45 am and never missed one.
Ok prof. Class was a lot of memorization! If you're bad with memorizing tonnes of terms, you may have trouble. Don't miss his classes, no power-points are posted online. He does respond to e-mails fairly quickly, spends about 5-10 minutes after class answering questions.
Students beware. He does not post his lecture slides online and does not give a study guide. He is passionate about his lectures (yay!), but this makes it very hard to know what material is necessary vs complimentary and without a study guide or online lectures to review after class it's a free for all! And there's a ton of material so good luck!
He is a Knowledgeable prof and explains all the essentials during lectures. Lectures are not mandatory but if you want to get a good grade , attend them. Moreover, he is available during office hours and occasionally by making appointments and he is welcoming to clarify all subjects for students .
I only had my labs with him. amazing prof, amazing guy, funny and approachable, He definitely takes the time to answer your questions, however, will make you work for your grade. DONT BE LATE FOR LABS BECAUSE HE WILL TAKE THE PRETEST ORALLY WHICH IS TORTURE
Best teacher i've had. Kind, Funny, Helpful. I forgot my lab manual once and he printed a whole copy of the lab for me in minutes. It's a shame i don't need any more biology so i won't have this prof again. Makes me kind of sad.
Dr. Ferguson is a god. Amazing and clear lectures that you shouldn't skip. No need for textbook, just show up to class and take notes on EVERYTHING he says, and memorize those notes. Boom, you've just gotten an A+. Beware of the lab exam though, as the class average was around 50% or so.
Dr. Ferguson is a big NO for beginners, he may be great for student of bio but not for other majors, he teaches fast and he assume you know the basics. don't take it with him as an elective, although he's wiling to help and super organized and kind, but you should be really into bio if not don't take it with him
He does not post his lectures online, so be prepared to attend every class. There is also a lot of material and he speaks extremely fast, so I would recommend recording his lectures and sharing notes with other students. Would only recommend to students coming from a Biology background and who do not rely on slides.
best prof ever I ever had. never seen such an understanding prof before. he accepted my late works with a smile.
My favourite prof at concordia. He's very clear and doesn't rush through content during lectures. He can joke around but also take the course seriously when it needs to be.
Dr. Ferguson is a great lecturer and an overall funny, caring professor. He tries to make the classes interesting and explains very well. He doesn't post lecture slides so come to class. Beware for the lab exam. Make sure to start studying right from the beginning since it's a lot to learn by heart (It would have made exam time much easier for me!)
he is a great teachers for getting a good grade you only need to attend the classes and read through his slides that he post you can also take notes those are very helpful
Ian is by far the best teacher in Concordia, I'm not saying that lightly I've had over 20 professors teach me so far and he's easily the best, attend his lectures study only what he says and everything he says, easiest A+ you'll get in the biology department, you only gotta watch out for the lab exam
IAN IS MY GUY, He's very good at getting his point across and explaining complicated topics. Is very understanding when it comes to absences/unseen circumstances and answers ever/any question thrown his way!!! 10/1o ANY IAN Ferguson BIO class there is take it!!!!!
amazing prof!! however, the midterms and finals are pretty challenging with Dr. Ian, so study well! Other than that, he is so good he makes you love his lectures and the subject!
Dr. Ferguson was by far my best prof this semester. He makes his lectures interesting and really cares about the material. Also offered recordings of his lectures from when it was online, not 1:1 with inperson lectures but super convenient. Difficulty wise, fairly straight forward mid and final mainly, MC. But every topic covered.
One of the best profs I've seen.
Good prof. Good lecturer. Nothing not to like.
Had a really great time taking his class. The lectures are packed with information but he does a good job at breaking down more difficult concepts. He's also rather funny.
Dr. Ferguson is an extremely caring teacher. He clearly wants his students to succeed. Lectures are detailed and easy to follow, and all information needed in the course will be taught during lectures. Textbook is optional but not mandatory, and if you attend class, take good notes and do every weekly assignment, this course is easy to ace.
Had a quiz every week. Lab's were essentially easy hundreds as long as you showed up. Midterm and Final were based literally on the lecture alone (there is a lot of memorization, I recommend Anki to deal with that) so forget the textbook unless you are super confused. Should be an easy A.
Provides high quality lectures that he's clearly polished over the years. Mostly enjoyable labs with quizzes every week. Though the concepts are not too difficult, it is a very dense course, serving as a thorough intro to everything. Exams are made difficult through the sheer level of detail demanded. When he tells you not to memorize, ignore him.
Amazing professor during the lectures, does fair midterms and final, if you paid attention and learned you should get a good grade. The labs with him were great!
one of the best professors at concordia
Great Professor
Briefly, He was awful.
Very strong.
Mr. Ferguson is hands down one of the best professors I have had at Concordia. Textbook readings are available for those who are still confused, but the material is heavily leacture-centered (Everything you need to know is in the lectures!) Studying may be time consuming, but he is super easy to reach out to, and will provide tips whenever
The best professor I've had so far, biology was fun thanks to him!
Ruins gpa. No slide no recordings. Many high ratings but only those with a good mark. Regret taking course with him
He is kind and Caring. Exam questions are from lectures only. Great teaching skills during lectures. He is helpful in the labs and answers questions.
All the material on tests is dependent on his lectures in class: don't skip. And if you do, have a friend catch you up on the material you missed. Sometimes he's a bit fast with explaining things, but he's a really good teacher overall. Accessible outside of class if you don't understand certain concepts: take advantage of office hours!
The epitome of a great university professor. Fun and caring, but serious when necessary. While attendance is not mandatory and textbook isn't required, not all slides are readily available so it's vital to take notes during lectures. Exams are all about the important concepts (e.g. no ridiculous history questions).
Amazing lectures. Sometimes he talks a little fast and it can be easy to get lost. You kinda have to go to class because he dosent put anything on moodle... so you gotta take good notes or you're screwed. Other than that, he dosent give assignments or anything so the class is pretty chill. Hes a great prof and he puts the fun in learning.
The best professor! Makes all the subjects so interesting, clear, answers questions in depth. The material is heavy, but as long as you go to the lecture, take notes, that's exactly what he puts in the exams. Exams are not complicated, but he focuses on the small details. Such a caring prof, always happy, good energy and funny! Definitely recomend.
It's bio so it's quite an amount of concepts but prof Ian did a great job explaining and clearing out doubts!! Made me love more the class than I already did! Would 100% take another class with him
Professor Ferguson makes this tough biology course engaging. Attend lectures, take notes, and use resources like Unstuck AI to ace the exams. The workload is manageable, and the prof is approachable if you need extra help.
Dr Ferguson has great lectures, very clear, and makes cute occasional dad jokes. Overall makes your learning experience very enjoyable. Attendance is important for note taking since his exams are all about what he speaks about in class.
He is an amazing prof, one of the few who can actually teach and make it interesting. I 100% recommend taking, make sure to take notes all the time but the exam is completely reasonable as long as you went to class. Sweetest guy, plenty of unfunny dad jokes, my favorite class by far.
Dr. Ferguson is a really good teacher. I only put him as a difficult teacher because he doesn't post his powerpoint and talks really fast. So get ready to take lots of notes and pictures. The two lecture exams are pretty easy, with multiple choices. The readings are only to help you understand something if you didn't understand it in class
bestttt teacher at concordia, i really wish he could teach all my classes. knows what he's talking about and cares about his students. Go to his classes because his exams are all based on his lectures and the slides aren't posted, but his lectures are great and i'm someone who usually skips whenever I can. THANK YOU
The finest educator I've had the pleasure of learning from in my entire life. Incredibly easy to digest information from. I will go out of my way to take every opportunity to enrol in his lectures for the rest of my years at Concordia. Dr Ferguson is brilliant and deeply inspiring.
Charismatic, funny, available and organised, he makes biology interesting. There is lots of material to cover, so be ready, and the prof doesn't really specify what will be in the exams. Sometimes the 'work to worth' ratio sucks, like for example, a lab report took me 5+ hours to complete outside of class, but was only worth 1% of the final grade
His lectures are super engaging, I'm in my second year now and Dr. Ferguson is still the best bio prof I've had. As long as you show up and take notes the textbook isn't really necessary, his evaluations only include the material covered in class.
if you dont bring notes from an online source his lectures will no be enough for you to pass, very fast paced and no slides posted for you to check later bad experience i was very lost and unable to catch up with his lectures
Really engaging, but PowerPoint will not be posted, so attending lectures is a must.
Nicest prof ever, he's genuinely the sweetest. Made me want to take another class with him just because of how nice he is.
I absolutely love this professor, super nice and sweet! Makes me want to come to his class!
He is a very nice person and always tries to make the class enthusiastic and you can tell he's passionate However he is not a great teacher for slow and visual learners. He doesn't have power points and only shows interactive images in class or diagrams but when he post them nothing is identifie. He talks very fast, and very content heavy.
best prof at concordia , i wish he taught all the classes!!
Good Riddance Dr. Ferguson, despite what his reviews say this has been a very aggrivating experience. He goes way too fast through the material, doesnt post the notes, and gives vague questions on exams. He overcomplicates everything, and the labs are poorly organized too. This likely wont ruin your GPA, but your sanity is definetly on the line
Dr. Ferguson: - does not post his notes - goes way too fast in the lecture - his exams are just "study everything lol". No chance to prep, no sample. Labs are a bit disorganized. Overall, very heavy class. I recommend getting notes from online sources or someone who takes good notes. "B-but he's so funny tho" - delusional Ferguson glazers
Ferguson seems like a nice guy but the course I took with him was very tough, simply because there is so much content to memorize and you are introduced to the content VERY fast. The WORST mistake you can make is assume that, because something was sped through in the presentation, it won't be on the exams. Study EVERYTHING as early as you can.
good prof. loved the class. important to attend the lectures but they're super chill and as long as you take notes you'll be fine
