He was very difficult to an unnecessary point. He would tell you specifically what to study and then test you on something totally different! He was never helpful when asking questions and never reviewed tests to know what you got wrong.
You have to put in your time. He is not really helpful.
BCC I AM SORRY FOR YOUR POOR JUDGEMENT IN HIRIING A DIE HEARTED HUMAN BEING FROM SOUTH AFRICA
I passed with an 89% (1 point from an A) and I must say I have never taught myself through a class like I did in this one. He doesnt show up to office hours. He used to be a surgeon overseas (which he brags about) and expects everyone to learn at the level only a doctor would understand. The only A in the class was another doctor taking the class.
I listened to what he wanted, did the work, and got the grade whiners
Really interesting class but a lot of serious reading and study. I took this class because I wanted to get into a real university afterwards.
He provides no instruction and could care less if he was teaching. He is my lab instructor and I don't see how Broward College allows for someone who doesn't answer questions, not friendly, and not teach to have a job. Do not take a class where he is the instuctor.
He makes you write an essay on each chapter and only has two tests for the entire semester. I dont know what I have gotten myself into. Each test covers 9 chapters and his tests are horrible. When you go to him for help he makes you feel worse than before. I would not recommend him to anyone. It makes you wonder who does the hiring at BCC.
His classes are quite challenging. You have to read, study, and review alot. We only take two test with about 9 chapters each so be prepared. As far as a lab teacher he's great but not necessary for anatomy and physiology.
Most people complain about him, but dont base your decisions on the ratings. He's honestly not that hard, but he is indeed challenging. Most students are not used to that, therefore they just complain but if your smart, you'll be alright.
I DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE THE CLASS, BASED ON HIS RATINGS..BUT I AM HAPPY I DID..I WORK 40+ HOURS PER WEEK AND I TAKE 4 CLASSES..HIS QUIZES ARE GOOD..U DO STUDY A LOT, BUT IF U WANT TO LEARN SOMETING TAKE HIM...MY FINAL GRADE WAS B
I read the ratings before I took a class and was I wrong to have believed the loser comments here. This Professor was always helpful and shared his knowledge frequently. Take his class. I have already signed up for an advanced class with him.
This professor definitely teaches and gets my vote. He is so funny, and his analogies really helped me remember the explanations. Recommended.

Super nice Professor.Helps with Scholarship and references for me.
Great professor. Loved his sense of humor. Very helpful.
Anatomy 1: This professor is not easy. He teaches through his own power point slides and does not use the book. He goes very fast so it is hard to take notes, but he will let you out 30 minutes early. He only gives 2 test in one semester with no review and makes you write 1.5 page journal for every chapter to turn in.
GREAT PROFESSOR, HIS LECTURES ARE VERY INTERESTING,THERE ARE 2 TESTS ONLY AND PAPER ON EVERY CHAPTER LEARNED, VERY TIME CONSUMING BUT AT THE END YOU LEARN A LOT. IF YOU LOVE THIS SUBJECT YOU WILL ENJOY HIM VERY MUCH. CLASS SEEMS VERY DIFFICULT AT FIRST BUT IF YOU DO WHAT HE TELLS YOU, YOU WILL GET AN A.
Dr. Kaye was a great teacher! I enjoyed attending his class. He is sharp, articulate and very funny. If you listen to him you will learn a lot and you will succeed.
Great professor. Makes subject very interesting and has good sense of humor. If you study what he says during his lectures and turn in your journals, you are sure to get a good grade.
The best!!!
Dr. Kaye is a great professor and a very kind man. He has a wonderful sense of humor. Tip: do the journals...do them well...and don't procrastinate on them! You are sure to pass.
I really liked this teacher but those of you looking for an easy A won't find it here. You have to work and study hard but you should be doing that anyway. I would recommend this prof to those who want to walk out having learned something. I would not reccomend him to lazy people expecting to get a good grade for nothing. Final grade A.
Professor Kaye is one the best. He is very funny, making learning fun. Read the book and make sure to prepare the journals; one journal on each chapter which can only help you memorizing and feeling more at ease. Also he is very fair. Got A on all journal. Since, I put some hard work, I meant that he really reads them. Take him!!
Decent teacher. Took him for the lab. He gave us a paper and said do this. Midterm and final didn't have a study guide or review. Told us to know all the five chapters or so. His tests were easy though if you did the chapter reviews he assigns you. Other than that it was boring. Probably won't take him again.
Professor Kaye has a great, dry sense of humor and gives good analogies to help you remember the material. He isn't easy, but he's very fair. His tests are tricky, so make sure to study thoroughly. He?s not the most approachable guy, but he does know his stuff. If you come to class, read the book, & keep up with the journals, you?ll be successful.
Professor Kaye is a good professor, intesting, and in a way entertaining. He knows what he is talking about and relates that info to the material being taught. As long as you pay attention to the powerpoints, do the journals, and the study guides, you'll do fine.
RUN!RUN!RUN! AND STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE THIS IS THE WORST TEACHER EVER!! NO REVIEW NO NOTHING HE JUST TELLS YOU TO KNOW THE WHOLE BOOK AND DO JOURNALS ON EACH CHAPTER THE JOURNALS HAS TO BE AS IF U R WRITING A STORY ABOUT ANATOMY STAY AWAY FROM THIS TEACHER YOU LOSE SLEEP AND YOUR LIFE IF YOU TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
Anyone who discourages taking this class with Professor Kaye probably isn't putting in the work. He is a fantastic instructor that is passionate about the subject!
W0W i CAN'T BELIEVE H0W MANY PE0PLE SAiD S0METHiNG BAD AB0UT DR. KAYE! HE iS A GREAT PR0FESS0R, HE BREAKS iT D0WN F0R Y0U! GiVES A REViEW BEF0RE THE EXAMS. WRiTE THE QUESTi0NS AND ANSWERS D0WN Y0U WiLL SEE THEM AGAiN! 0NLY BAD THiNG iS THE J0URNALS, THEY TAKE UP AL0T 0F TiME. i G0T AN A HiS LECTURE AND B iN HiS LAB.
he is nice/rude at the same time. expects you to study 20-25 hours a week(as if you have nothing else to do,like i dk WORK?!),2 page journals on ALL 14 CHAPTERS.only grades you on midterm, final, journals,THAT IS IT.if you have time to devote then yes you will learn but if you have other things to do RUN THE F*&^ AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR!seriously!
His lab sucks... if you want to pass his class study the book and nothing of what he says.... 6 quizzes, a mid and final...26 people in class- 8 people showed for the final. At least half the class audited him...
I had this professor for Lab. Run for the hills. I think he gave himself a good review. Horrible teacher for lab. Most people in my lab dropped out or audited. Took another lab professor and they were awesome. Horrible professor for lab.
One of the best Professor at BC. He gives good reviews and makes sure you understand the material so you can pass (if you do not, this is not his fault). He does not "bear" a smile on his face, but he is the MOST HILARIOUS person on earth, making his classes more enjoyable. At first, I did not like the fact that we had to write a journal on ever
......But, I soon realized that it was for own good. I had to read so I could write, and this helped me a lot in getting an A+ in this class. Go Prof. Kaye!
Heard he was a good teacher for the lecture class but the lab class really sucked.
Whoever gave this teacher a good review must have photographic memory, unfortunately I do not. I have to study to do well. He does not answer my questions, his practice quiz was worded different than the notes and the book. His teaching style is horrible, I am thirty and have a 3.66 GPA, I took this class seriously, butcant memorize the whole book.
need a photographic memory!taking notes is the hardest part he only teaches using powerpint and moves so quickly and is on the next slide before you are even done writing the first sentence!on top of that you cant record his lectures to review what u missed in class and there is no homework.ur grade is based on 4 things, 2:12pg journals n 2exams
I have Dr. Kaye for lecture. At first it's pretty shocking that the grade is based on 2 journals, and a midterm and final. after taking the midterm and handing in Journal 1 i realized that it's really for the best! He gives a review before the exam, and as long as you go to class, LISTEN, and DON'T PROCRASTINATE on your journals you'll do AWESOME!!
I am very average and had to study way more than usual. Got my A
Definitely rates better than other classes but OMG a lot of work
had to study my brain off to get a B!he is kinda sorta fun, but man you gotta pay attention to details and JOURNALS! do it! start doing it after classes!!! they are not that hard, but it takes time!
THIS TEACHER IS EASY...TOOK HIM FOR BSC1085 DNT MIND THE OTHER REVIEWS. YOU HAVE 2 EASY JOURNALS THAT ARE BASICALLY SUMMARIES OF CHAPTERS...AND 2 TESTS WHICH HE GIVES WORD 4 WORD REVIEW ON! TAKE HIM, BARELY STUDIED AND MADE A "B"!!!!
Dr. Kaye is awesome, i love his funny stories and his dry jokes. Take my advice and start the jounrnals ASAP, cause if you wait, in the end they will haunt u. Exams are pretty easy, gives you a good word 4 word review. I took him and got a B, his voice can be a lil boring but his stories keep you attentive...sometimes
OMG...this class is sooo dreadfully boring. Its hard to stay awake during lectures. I am still in the class and thought I would have to drop because I didnt finish the journals or study for the first test and still got a C..this time I will study and make an A or B. Dry hunor is cute but the lecture seemed to have nothing to do with the exams!
Worst professor EVER!!!! Too much writing and not enough time to write. His voice is very low and after I advised him of my slight hearing problem and even though I sat in the front and center, he made no efforts to improve his tone. He could not even hand out the syllabus for his class. Very boring and not very helpful before or after classes.
When I first began taking your class in lab I was not sure if I was going to stay or not. But as time went on, 4 weeks into the class I realized how interesting and beneficial this class actually was. Not to mention, I started to see that you were a really cool teacher and you made the class very fun and easy to learn.
GREAT professor. grades are based on 2 journals and 2 exams. He teaches exactly what you need to know for test and future. He is also funny. I enjoyed his class and will look for him when i take A&P2.
No tests, quizzes or homework!! Only multiple-choice midterm/final exam and mid-semester/end of semester journal of notes turn-in.
A medical doctor by training. Very intelligent. Very precise and clear in his teaching. Too much sexual content in much of his joking. Uncomfortable. Must read book diligently. 50% of grade is from very subjective "journals". 50% from Midterm & Final, multiple/multiple choice. Earned an A, but a lot of work.
This professor is really funny. Meat & Potatoes-very strict, no non sense, attendance is mandatory. Lectures from Powerpoints, covers every single item in chapter. Journals are time consuming, dont wait until the last minute, and study way in advance. It would be impossible for you to pass a test with only 1 day of cramming info for his class.
Professor Kaye has a dry wit that and deadpan presence, but is a good lecturer. Students must keep up with textbook reading. Journal writing (part of grade)takes time, but makes you learn the material so I appreciate the method. Would take him for APII if he was available for my schedule.
He's very intelligent and sometimes funny, but if you dont have time for this class, dont take it! Journals are 50% of grade and takes a VERY LONG TIME -full pages single space! no quizzes or tests, midterm and final only, but its do or die! no extra credit.Start journals early and dont wait for last min to study! Good Luck!!
2 journals/midterm/final is all there is to worry about. I had five classes this semester and this was the 1 I had to study for the most. Dont fall behind on journals. If I didn't have a full time job I would have had more time to study and instead of a B I would have had an A but thats my own fault..Good teacher though! wish he was teaching 1086!
Took for A&P Lab. Lab book is a must. Attendance is mandatory. Quiz every class. He doesn't really go over the material. Nor tells you what to study. HE just says to study everything. You need to self taught/study. Practicals are very hard. He tests you on things he didn't cover. He wasn't very helpful.
This Professor is a great teacher you just have to study for both lab and lecture its anatomy its intense, Lecture you have journals to write about on each chapter and 2 tests midterm and final which means its harder to have 2 tests that meansare more chapters than just an exam every other weeks like other professors do..
I am so impressed with Dr. Kaye! I think people that complain are the ones who don't come to class or don't listen (texting, talking). He is soft spoken, but covers the material so that it can be applied to the real world. He is intelligent & helpful with questions. I always skimmed the readings BEFORE class and that helped a LOT. thanks, Dr. Kaye!
I was not looking forward to writng 16 journals for this class but it really does help you learn and study the material. Professor Kaye gives 10 points XTra credit just for printing out the class policy online. I recieved an A in his class.
Good professor. Be prepared to work your tail off on the required journals that he assigns. It's a lot of work but it helps towards the midterm and final. If you do the work, you'll pass. I passed with a B.
I should have listen to my friend & not take his class. He is a hard grader, yet very tricky! If you buy his notes, you will be able to pass his class. Study everything! His review for the midterm was useless. The final review was similar to his final, but it was hard to google the answers to it. Please complete all your journals! U have been WARNED
I TOOK BSC2085 AT BROWARD WITH PROFESSOR KAYE. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. HE DOES NOT EXPLAIN THING TO YOU. HE MAKE YOU FEEL AS IF YOUR SLOW. WHY DID I TAKE HIS CLASS?? HIS LECTURES ARE VERY SHORT AND HE DOES NOT EXPLAIN THING TO YOU. OH YEA, THERE ARE THESE STUPID JOURNAL THAT YOU HAVE TO WRITE. THE JURNALS ARE HARD BECAUSE HE DOENT COVER MUCH. OYYYYYYY
terrible, I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO SAY
I thought this man was a wonderful professor! He is more on the tough side and his attendance policy is a no joke, he WILL remove you from the class if you disobey it. Great at explaining the different parts of the body and if you ask, he will give you more in depth descriptions of body areas-- almost like clues-- making it easier to remember.
Lectures are interesting and not boring. He has a good sense of humor. There are 2 tests and 2 journal NOVELS. The journals took forever and ever to type, but DO it! You cannot pass unless you take the time to do the 16 page, no spacing, size 12 font journals! Overall awsome professor and keeps you awake and interested.
Great Professor! The journals are long but necessary. You will learn a lot if you read and take good notes. He gives good explanations. He claims you don't have to buy the book and suggests other notes and materials you can purchase, but you should just buy the book! It's the most helpful for tests and quizzes. He rarely uses your quiz grades.
Ian kaye is an okay professor and a bit funny if you do his journals you will be fine because it is 50% of your grade the journal is hard to complete because you basically have to type a 3 page summary in 12 inch font per chapter and there are 8 he covers... so basically if you dont do the journals you might as well say you failed the class
PROFESSOR KAYE WAS A PRETTY FUNNY GUY. HIS LECTURES AREN'T THAT BAD BUT HE DOES ASSIGN JOURNALS WHICH IS HALF YOUR GRADE. AS LONG AS YOU COMPLETE THE JOURNALS YOU WILL LEARN A LOT AND PASS. I STRONGLY SUGGEST GETTING ALL HIS POWER POINT SLIDES BECAUSE IT CONDENSES THE TEXT BOOK. OVERALL IF HE TAUGHT AP 2 I WOULD DEFINITELY TAKE HIS CLASS.
Dr kaye is an amazing teacher, he has a good sense of humor and not everyone gets it. He does not baby students he says things as he sees them and some students may feel offense. Just be on time and do the journals!!!!!!! these are 50% of your grades and is a good way to study!!!! His exam reviews are very helpful and class normally last 40-45 min
Dr Kaye was a pleasure, takes his teaching serious. Very helpful after class. Humorous too. Journals are long, but imagine getting two good test grades without taking two tests?! He does a thorough review of the two tests before. Journals are time consuming, but are great tools to study (as well as keep for future reading). Work hard, get an A.
He has a bit of a dry sense of humor and can come off a little "out there" but over all his class is easy. He goes fast and has a heavy accent so it can be hard at times to keep up. As long as you write your journals (2-3pgs on each chapter) you should be fine. His grading is 2 journals and midterm and final. Counts attendance every day!
I had prof. kaye for bsc2068 because my teacher had to retire in the middle of the semester. He was not cooperative at all with our class which only had 12 students. He didn't care about what we learned nor said.
Took prof. kaye for a&p1 lecture. He made us do a 16 page single space size 11 font journal. which is ridiculous. we only had a midterm and final. and pop quizzes. He's very condescending and rude. I got a 79.99 in his class and he wouldn't give me he extra .01 point. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! RUN FAR AWAY FROM HIM!
This prof took over my A&P 2 lecture class after the professor we had decided to retire right before the end of our course. This prof REFUSED to apply a test grade that we had already taken with the prior professor & this brought many of the student's grades down. He makes you feel stupid when you ask a question & makes you write all the notes.
NO POWERPOINTS IN HIS CLASS. MAKES YOU WRITE NOTES -- BE PREPARED TO DRAW ALSO. HE HAS AN ACCENT AND IS DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND SOMETIMES.. 85-90% OF WHAT HE TEACHES YOU ISN'T EVEN ON THE TEST. WASTE OF TIME!
I thought this man was a wonderful professor! Great at explaining the different parts of the body and if you ask, he will give you more in depth descriptions of body areas-- almost like clues-- making it easier to remember.
He's not interactive. He breezes over what he says and expects us to get it and copy it in one take. Rarely, unless you ask him to repeat himself he does it. he doesn't use additional illustrations so you'll just have to sit and listen to him carry on. He's monotonic and has an accent so it's kind of hard to understand him. he's just so bland! :(
His tests are tough so make sure you STUDY!! He also makes you type up these journals (2 pages per chapter SINGLE SPACED) but it's worth it! I got C's on my exams, but with my journals, I passed with an A! His lectures include a lot of drawings, and he's kinda funny. & He gives pop quizzes for extra credit, so it wouldn't matter if you fail those.
This class was not easy but it was possible to do well. Essays and extra credit can really help your grade so make sure you go to every class. The tests are difficult but pretty straight forward and fair if you take good notes in class and READ the book. These types of classes aren't supposed to be easy. Work hard, get an A. Professor is nice/funny
Dr. Kaye is a no nonsense instructor. Pay close attention to his lectures and take good notes. His classes are very entertaining and he uses very funny stories to make concepts stick. Very important to attend each class and take good notes. Do not wait to do the journals, read and study his notes after each class and always be prepared.
I took his class in the summer because he was one of the only professors that fit my schedule. I TRULY REGRET taking his class, the grade is based solely off of the midterm, final, and journals and he is a VERY tough grader. To be honest, I'm not a good test taker. DO YOUR JOURNALS!!! This was the hardest class I have ever taken so far.
Dr. Ian kaye was fine, he really knows his stuff. His grades are 2 journals a midterm and a final. As lone as you do the journals trust me you will pass. DO THE JOURNALS!!!!!!!!
He does not have a heavy accent as some people state , it is a light British accent, 50% of grade is midterm and final; 50% is written journal. As long as you do the journal, take notes during class, and be prepared for a few extra credit pop quiz's you will pass.
Better be serious in this course. He seems to reward hard workers.
You are graded solely on 2 journals, the midterm and the final. The first journal covers ch.1-8, while the second journal covers chapters 9-16. The journals are like mini textbook chapters that you create. He doesn't tell you what info to include, which makes it harder. The MT and FE are both multiple choice. He gives pop quizzes however theyre EC!
I learned that there are good and not so good colleges. This Professor is amazing and talented and I never expected to have the level of teaching I received.
Every class was hard. If you don't work and seriously listen, do not go. ECExams and extra credit pushed me over the top.
learn his notes and do the reviews
you get one assignment project witch took a while to make and you have to draw pictures, I did not, so I got a B for that. The midterm and final are MC but about 20% of the test is writing the functions of this or that, obviously I wrote the best I could and got Bs for that also, just barely made it. He was the only one giving this class online
