He's cool. Do the homework and review sheets and you will see no surprises on the test. Lectures can be a little dry..But its math. Really fair teacher, knows his stuff and he is nice. Quizzes everyday but they are copying three of the homework questions, easy way to boost your grade. Do homework and show that you are trying = A.

MR. MCCANCE IS A REALLY EASY TEACHER. HE TRIES TO TEACH UNTIL THE WHOLE CLASS UNDERSTANDS. HE ACTUALLY USES LITTLE OBJECTS TO TEACH US SOMETIMES. HE IS A GOOD TEACHER AND IF YOU GET HIM AL YOU GOT TO DO IS WORK AND YOUR FINE!!

The teacher is great. He trys to help everyone, love the visual aids. He makes math fun. Take him you'll learn alot !

Very good teacher. Clear on what he teaches, if you don't like math he'll make it less painful. Prepares you for the next level of math. High speed at times, but pay attention and you'll be okay. Do recommend.

He is very helpful and tries to get everyone involved in learning. There was a quiz and homework due every week. There was four test and a final. Just study the math worksheets he has you do during class and you will do just fine.

good teacher. really likes math. he's fair & willing to help if u need it. he gives out practice test and worksheets that help with the test. most of the questions on the test are from the practice test & wkshts. if you're taking geometry...study those conjectures!!!

I thought Mr. McCance was a good teacher. He explained things well and was very helpful. I can't imagine that he would refuse to help someone. Don't believe the last comment...after all would you believe someone that can't even spell "friends" correctly.

Very good at what he does! Take if you are scared of math makes it easier. You have to work hard and do all homework! If you can do that you will enjoy the class.

Are you not too good at math? Do you get confused easily? WELL if that is the case take McCance, his teaching techniques make learning the materal easy! He always makes time to make sure EVERYONE is on the same page & if there is a question on the materal do NOT hesitate to ask. This professor is by far one of the best math professors Cerritos =).

He is very fair. Try not to be late, if you are late you cannot turn in your homework. He gives note packets so you don't have to take notes and give worksheets for more pratice. Tries to keep the class at the same pase and is sometimes a little fast, but if you stay after he will clarify and review. Uses props to try and make things interesting

He is a really good teacher. He is a little fast. He is fair and clarifys if you don't understand. He very willing to help. I would recomend taking him. I wish he taught stats.

This professor is great never once was he grouchy or in a rush even though it was a summer class. He is great and very helpful i would take his class again I recommend him. He is very easy the exams and final are just like the review sheets he hands out take him =)

Easy instructor, but you will actually learn the material. Do the homework and really focus on the test reviews and you will easily pass. He never showed irritation or anger from any of my questions.

A great professor, teaches well, and is GREAT when you ask him a question. Make sure to do the homework, because it gives you a better shot at passing the class. Quizzes just about every week. Does give study guides, so make sure to study them and you'll pass with flying colors.

Took Business Calculus with this professor and its a decently hard subject. PUT THE TIME IN, he stresses this alot. He makes sure you understand the material and gives you study guides VERY similar to the test. Hes down to earth and realllly chill and wont get mad when you ask questions and is pretty funny in class. Do the SG and ull pass!

He is so awesome! Super clear on the subject. Has note packets available online so you don't have to write everything out. Gives homework everyday, but fairly easy. Quizzes are every 3 sections, 5 questions, 1 point each. Not bad. Total of 5 exams, and a Final. He always gives review packets for tests and whatever is on the review is on the test just different numbers. You won't regret taking his class!

he is the BEST math professor ever! IF ONLY HE TAUGHT MATH 80! he has print out notes & study guides. the test is pretty much the study guide & he will tell you whats on the test. Extra Credit not that much. no one needs it though.He's helpful & Funny & super easy too pass. no one should be failing his class.!

McCance is very helpful, but warning to female students, he's eye candy and could be distracting. He doesn't give many examples on the board. I would have rather taken another professor.

This class was by far the best math class i've taken. I'm usually bad at math but thanks to this teacher I aced every test. He does give hw and doesn't collect it but you still have to do it in order for the material to stick. The tests are also straight forward just study the review and you're good to go. I hope I can take him again for math 80.

Ian McCance was personally a great instructor. I took math 60 in spring with another professor and was failing so i dropped the class and took math 40 with him in the summer. Aced it like it was nothing! His lectures were online and fairly short (5-15 mins) He is clear. and will go around helping the students who ask for help. I enjoyed having him

Very helpful teacher. He does online lecture notes and then when you show up to class you can ask him questions you have about the lesson. He is really helpful and does teaching in a different way which I liked.

Do the homework & study, you'll pass. He explains well and always gives study guides for the tests. He's passionate about math & likes teaching, so don't be afraid to ask for help. Some extra credit, do it while you can.

Possibly one of the best math professors ever. He's very clear and cares about his students a lot. He makes sure that everyone understands the lecture before moving on. A LOT of homework, but it helps you and your grade. He doesn't try to trick you in exams.

Great professor definitely finishing all math through him. The class is very well planed out even if you miss a class you can still get a lecture from his prerecord YouTube lectures that follows the notes laid out. Not only that he will always come by and check to see if you understand or get the sections. He is available almost all the time to help and is an easy person to talk to. Definitely recommend to people who want a good professor to walk you though each lesson and provide help.

He is really passionate about math and tries his hardest to explain in the easiest way possible so that everyone is able to understand. Notes are posted on his websites with videos of him teaching the material which helps a lot when you don't understand something. The test consist of homework questions so make sure to do the homework.

Prof McCance is a great professor and is very passionate in teaching and wants his students to succeed. I took math 60&80 9week and i learned alot by taking his class for such a short time. Yes the HW was time consuming but it comes in handy understanding the material when it came to quizzes and exams. Just study and you should be able to pass :)

The textbooks are either free source or inexpensive. Provides printout notes and those notes are video lectures on YouTube if you ever need to refresh your memory or if you've missed a day. Extra credit and exam reviews were helpful. He often reiterates to visit his office if you're in need of extra help, do it.

McCance was one of the best math professors I've ever had, even professors in general. He's patience and dedicated to teaching. As someone who totally struggles in math, McCance was very friendly and was ready to help. It was easy to ask him questions as he actually cares if his students succeed. He's a great teacher. I had him for Math 80A. Very easy to understand. Lot of homework but its cery easy and he doesn't put difficult questions on the test. Grades very easy as long as you understand it.

Professor McCance is the best math professor I've had! He teaches in a way that makes sense to you and is always there to help when you need it. He makes you work for the grade but also offers plenty of extra credit opportunities. This class is not too hard as long as you put the TIME and EFFORT to learn you'll do great!

First math teacher Ive taken. He offers his office hours for you to walk in and he will teach you step by step, breaks it down for you. I felt that he teaches too fast but its okay he explain examples in different ways for one to understand either one.

Professor McCance is the best math professor in Cerritos! I've taken him for Math 60, 80 and 114 and I was so bummed out when I found out he wasn't available for Math 116 this semester. Wow the best math professor Ive had at Cerritos, he is so patient and his teaching style is just out of this world there are 9 exams and then the final all are exactly like the study guides which he gives filled out. Is always willing to help before during and after class. If you have the chance take this professor to actually learn mathematics!��

The most amazing professor, he really teach you math, you can tell he loves his job. he have a lot of patience and office hours. I took him for math 60 and 80. its not an easy A. I would recommend him over any other professor.

Professor McCance is pretty tough and you will have to work for the grade but its really not too bad. For 170 he gave exam reviews (doesnt collect them) that were EXACTLY like the test. So if you can understand how to do the exam reviews, then you'll do fine on the tests. Pretty much homework daily because he goes a bit fast.

I was so worried to take Calc 1 and Professor McCance definitely made it smooth. He is my favorite math teacher so far. Exam reviews are extremely helpful to pass the exams. He even put in extra time on fridays in case we needed any help on the review. I wish he was teaching the higher calc classes! He is great!

He gives a lot of home work but sets you up for success. You will need tutoring if your not good at math but he does want you to succeed. At times a little moody but I would take him again for sure.

He gives out a study guides which are exactly like the exam! Homework helps and I recommend you do it for extra points! He gave out 2 extra credit chances. He gives out 4 packets through the semester as well. Just study the reviews he gives out and you should be good. He does lecture fast. Just STUDY Reviews and do the hw and You'll PASS!

Mr. McCance is better Professor in Math 60, he explains every details on Chapter 1 to 9. Sometimes hell put us in Group Test which it makes a lot easier and help each other during the test, and also making sure if our answers are the same.

Go to office hours If you need extra help. Lectures can be fast paced. Be sure to participate when he asks. This helps reinforce the material. Yes, can be moody but wants to see you succeed.

Great professor! He cares for his students and if you need help with a problem he makes sure you understand it. He takes the time to explain the problem lots of homework but thats math. I highly recommend for and online class. You work for your own grade.

I took him for math 40 on campus and math 60, onlline both experence were good. He gives lots of homework. I think it was really helpfull taking him for both 40 and 60 once you bulid a repor with your professer its alot easier to ask him for help, which I did, he was always avalibe when needed and never made me feel imbarssed for making mistakes.

Professor McCance is my favorite professor in Cerritos! Hes very good in explaining the concepts and really gave me a good foundation in Calculus. He provides study guides which are identical to the actual exams. So glad I took his class :)

Professor McCance is THE BEST Math professor ever! I took him for my Calc 1 class in Spring 2019 and he gave me a good foundation for the Calculus series. Take him if you want to understand Calculus well! He gave us study guides that are the same format as the exams. Wish I couldve taken him for my other Calc classes, too. Thanks, Prof McCance! :)

Had him back Fall Semester 2015. Class was easy so you'll get an easy grade from him.

Professor McCance was a good professor! I took Calc 1, and it smoothly. His online set-up is very organized, which is nice nowadays. I encourage you watch all of his lecture videos (they're really good) in order to get good grades. He provides everything you need like practice exams, and he responds to emails quickly. There is some homework though.

The class was not that hard and he made a lot of adjustments to make it easier considering it is online. You should be fine on the exams if you understand the exam review material well.

Beware: he is one of the professors who uses nearly the full settings for Proctorio such as webcam, room scan, etc. I say he is alright for Calc, and you will do well in his class if you keep up with the work and practice the study guide. Very systematic and outlines a schedule of due dates. Not the best person to ask for math help; get a tutor.

Calc 2 online was great with him. Favorite professor so far. All the packets should be started early because they are worth a lot of points. Study guide is the test so exams are doable. Consistent schedule too! Calc 2 requires effort so if you're going to be lazy it wont work for you no matter the professor. Anyone can do well in this class!!

Course was online, of course. He uses WebAssign for homework. Just like problems from book where you work them out on paper and then input the answer into the program. He uses Proctorio, but if you have issues he allows re-entry. Gives practice quizzes and was always helpful with issues. Uses his own videos with lecture notes for videos.

Great Professor, you have to work a lot, He makes a lot of videos for the sections. He responds the email fast and for every test he makes an especial office hours to help you with the test. well organized.

The overall grade depends a lot on the exams but theyre open notes so its not very hard! (He also dropped the lowest score) I enjoyed his class thoroughly, I just recommend doing the homework problems and taking proper notes on them and you'll be a-okay!

McCance wants you to succeed;but be warned his class can be a heavy workload especially if you have other classes. Graded by chapter discussions, chapter packets, WebAssign homework, 6 exams(open note). Exam reviews are optional but recommended as they reflect the exams. Graphing calculator is recommended but doable w/o. Makes Calc2 less of a pain.

Professor Mccance sets his class up in a way that makes it nearly impossible to fail. Lectures cover all the material you'll see on the exams, and to make things even better, they're all open note. Make sure to do the practice exams as well as they are nearly identical to the actual ones. Bad part is the immense load of HW, harder than exams imo.

Calc is pretty hard but once you understand the format of the class you should be good. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT, it saved me. The homework is super hard (don't focus on that so much) but what is on the test is the exam review he gives. If you get what's on it you set. For the packets use office hours. He also lets you use cheat sheets.

I was a bit anxious to take this class for Math 104 (math is my worst subject), but if you really put in the work and try your best to understand the lessons, you'll pass. During the semester, we had 5 exams on proctorio, but he allowed us a cheat sheet. Exam reviews are very similar to the exams, so study everything on them and you'll be fine!

Instructor Ian is the best! I took him for Math 104 online and i have never taken a math class online but i dropped last semester and tried again and I am so glad i tried again with him. Instructor Ian CARES. he CARES. He is fair and passionate about math and loves helping his students. Ask for help if you need to everyday.

MATH 104: Professor McCance is an outstanding math educator who consistently goes above and beyond for his students. His passion for math is infectious, making the class engaging and inspiring. He is incredibly approachable and offers help during office hours. He also quickly responds to emails asking for help, ensuring no student is left behind.

This course was an informative class if you want to refresh your knowledge of different math topics. Professor Ian McCance is really approachable and took the time during his office hours to explain through any questions I had. He is a fair grader. My best advice is to watch the videos that go along with the homework questions!

The class is challenging, but the exam format and extra credit help. Use office hours and Unstuckstudy for guidance. Overall, a manageable course if you stay engaged.

Professor McCance is super cool and straight forward. He uses lecture outlines that are easy to understand, and his unit reviews are very similar to exams. No quizzes, only lectures, homework, and exams. Cheat sheets allowed. This is a pretty difficult class, but just keep up with the homework and pay attention in lectures and you'll be good!

Prof Mccance is a frikin legend I love Prof Mccance, he's very nice and he's always going out of his way to help you if he can, and if you ask questions during class if he has time he won't care to explain but if he doesn't have time he'll tell you that he's more than happy to help you during office hours. Hw isn't graded heavily, exam are helpful

One of the best professors in Cerritos College---from the first day he gives you the schedule of the class and everything from homework, quizzes, exam dates are all posted; organized & manageable. Very passionate about math, & does his best to help in & outside class. Extra credit opportunities. Really great professor, on my life I recommend him.
