Dr. Ian was one of the best professors Ive had at Eastern Michigan. I would recommend his section to everyone that wants to teach early education. Hes super relatable, funny, and has the most adorable British accent. Absolutely loved this guy.

Ian is a wonderful professor! He's thoughtful, understanding, and he loves a good class discussion. No quizzes, no test, just two writing assignments and a presentation. He gives great feedback on everything. He sometimes shares food with the class (ask about his walnut paté), but he never shares the recipes - no matter how often you ask! :)

Prof Wojcik is one of the best professors I've ever had. I took this class for a gen ed without having much interest in it and he greatly surprised me by presenting the subject in a really interesting manner. His lectures are thought provoking and I enjoyed the required readings for the class. It is literature, so be ready to read, but Ian is great

Very nice professor who truly cares about you. Lectures aren't boring but aren't full of life either. Extremely helpful and very accessible outside of class, responds to emails with helpful information and in a timely manner.

Ian is a nice and awesome teacher! Many books since it's a reading class, but the assignments are very easy and even fun to complete! No lectures, just class discussions on interesting and philosophical ideas pertaining to the readings! Read the books and participate! He gives encouraging feedback and truly wants to hear your thoughts & opinions!

Ian is amazing! I really enjoyed taking this class. He makes learning about Children's Lit even more fun than it already is. The best part? The man has a British accent! Take his class if you have the opportunity! It is so much fun and he always makes us laugh.

Get ready to take notes, I fill several pages every lecture. As long as you're in class and take good notes, you'll do well on the tests and quizzes, which are all online and you're allowed to take them outside of class. The class discussions are pretty interesting, and he is a pretty funny guy.

Ian was a great professor. All classes are in a lecture format. His slides can be lengthy and not everything is on the slide, so take notes. He would throw out pop-quizzes. But as long as you knew what you were talking about, you'd get full credit.

Very kind and intelligent professor. Definitely one of the few professors I enjoy having after class conversations with. Lectures could take the entire class time but they are only pictured slides. All books can also be found online as pdf's. Do not be intimidated by the amount of books! Only literature class I have enjoyed in my years of school.

This was was interesting to take but kinda boring. I took this class during COVID so the format was a little different and i could tell the professor didnt understand online format very well. overall, he was very easy to reach out to and i would take this class again.

A lot of books were required & they were all free online pdf format but the assignments really didnt have anything to do with the books specifically, just lectures. Did not have a lot of assignments what so ever, about 6 assignments, 2 quizzes, and a 5-6 page research page at the end along with a final. Many lectures videos/power-points.

I can't say this was my favorite course because it was just boring. It is an easy A class with probably about 5 easy assignments. Ian is very knowledgable on children's literature and always asks for student interaction/discussion. He does not take attendance which makes it a little bit harder to actually go to class.
