Awesome teacher. Look up his reviews under his old school, Santa Fe Community College. Funny, helpful, and gets tests back to you really quickly. Doesn't collect homework. Wish he was teaching 49B next quarter so I could take it with him.
he is Great teacher, nice and helpful if you can take his class. if you studied and took good notes you will get an A
Good teacher. Slight accent, but still understandable. Does say funny things from time to time. Explains a lot and is a very fair teacher ie. if everyone does bad on a test, he will allow you to correct your wrong answers for half credit. Highly recommend!
He is a great teacher. Really smart. If you do goo din his class you can miss a couple of days but he will start to rag on you. I wish he was teaching the summer
This professor is no doubt THE BEST MATH PROFESSOR I have ever had. He is clear and concise even though his very minor accent. He is very helpful and if a student has trouble understanding he goes over the problem and breaks down all the steps clearly. He even has a clever sense of humor, he makes class go by fast and honestly made math fun.
Took his summer class, "Fast like bullet train" Thick accent, nice fair teacher. If you pay attention hella easy. I had my homework done by the end of class every day. His own kinda funny sense of humor. Would take him again.
He is a really good teacher.
Great teacher, gotta love that accent! Easy math class, and he's very into the history behind mathematics, making it more interesting to learn / grasp.
I took his Math 1B class, and it was great experience. I got A+. He tried to explain too much but it could help some students. Overall, take him if you can.
Best math teacher I ever had. He is extremely helpful; helped me every time I dropped into his office hour and doesn't mind it at all. He also always encourage students to study and reviews with students frequently before tests. His review sheets are what will be on his test and same goes for his class lectures. No surprises on tests. :)
He's really nice, and knows what he's talking about. He does have favorites, and if you want to learn everything be on time, and sit in the front because i've realized that he picks on people in the back/middle. And best of all sometimes mysterious points get added onto the test even if you re-calculated it. so don't ask about it just take it
Please take him, do your homework, read textbook then you will get an easy A.
This teach really knows his stuff. I wish he assigned the odd numbered problems in the text book so that way you can know if you are doing it right. Good teacher all around.
He is a great teacher, but he treats some students with favor. He only teachs subject to his favorit students. If you are not his favorit, he will never see you. Also, he doesn't like students who are lazy and jarhead.
This teacher was really bad. I couldn't understand what he was teaching. It has nothing to do with his accent, just his teaching style. I just saw him put numbers on the board and talk on and on and on. Also, all he does is LECTURE!! When you do problems, he gives you, like, 30 seconds to do it and then he talks for LONGER about how to do it.
other math professors need to take a class from him
well, he's so great! His tests are straight forward and his final exam is for you to pull up your grade (just M.C.!) If you do your HW, you must understand all his test problems!
HE IS THE BEST!!! HIS LECTURE IS VERY HELPFUL. TAKE HIS CLASS.
Great teacher! I took him for both 212 and 114, and got an A+ both quarters. I went into the class loathing math, but came out loving it! Kryliouk explains everything in great detail. Just as long as you pay attention during lecture and do your homework on time you will do fine. By the way the practice final is the same as the actual final.
one day when we had an in class quiz someone blabbed out that it should be a take-home quiz and he said OK...this other time i was late for one of the extra credit stuff but he didn't mind. He says 1-2 jokes per class. Doesn't collect homework. He teaches well and is very helpfull
His teaching is great, but sometimes his lectures are right out of the book. If that happens, I start sleeping. His summer session is "fast like a bullet train", make sure you are only taking at most 2 classes. Some of his quizzes and test prbs are not directly from the book and harder, but same material. 1% EC. He loves messing with trig so much.
I took him for Math 212 and Math 114. Seriously, I dreaded taking more math in college. But after his classes, I fear it no longer! He is a great teacher and makes sure you completely understand what's going on, so there is no memorization involved. Strict on his policies, but as long as you go to every class, turn all your homework in, you'll do w
He has an accent and I was sort of scared that I wouldn't understand anything..but he's explains it well and will answer any questions asked. Make sure you answer the questions he asks though! He cracks a few jokes once in awhile if you get on his good side.. and he curves the grades sometimes.
He is the best Math Pro. ever. His class is the only class that makes me want to go to school. Higly recommended.
Great prof! will recommend. His teachings are organized and thorough. It seems that every semester he needs more time for his lectures, but definitely not hard at all. As long as you study, attend class, and pay attention/take good notes, you should be fine. Ask questions if you can, he's friendly and will answer what he can.
He is the best math professor I have had! The best thing about his class is the test have question similar to the ones in the book so as along as you do your homework this class will be easy.
His lecture is very clear and well organized. You'll do fine as long as you do all the homework he assigns. Highly recommended!
You cannot expect more from a Math, teacher, but Dr. Kryliouk deliver really clear lectures. You will never lost track of the progress, definitely attend every single lecture and you will do good. Quizzes and test not straight forward, but make sure you do some of the homework he assigned even he don't collect them, they are helpful for the tests.
He had two multiple choice tests, which can easily ruin your grade. His lecture was not that clear. Extra credit problems were only few and difficult. He has an accent.
i dont know y ppl said his lecture is clear! definately avoid him!otherwise i m sure you will regret!he is not nice at all. and miniproject is hard. bearly can understand his class!
BEST EASIEST TEACHER
Great professor, clear, concise and pretty funny. He can ramble at times but he will totally make you laugh. Lots of hw so keep on top of it. 5 quizzes, 4 tests, and read read read.
YOU'LL EXPERIENCE...IF YOU TAKE THIS. RECOMMEND FOR MATHEMATICIANS.
Worst teacher ever. He wastes time on unimportant things, yells viciously at students for texting/sleeping/eating/not paying attention, to an unreasonable extent. Can't form complete/comprehensive sentences. Doesn't explain how to do problems, only concepts. Unreasonable. Rude to students. Comes to class unprepared/late all the time. Mean. =[ =[ =[
Horrible, literally reads the textbook to you and does not explain what he is teaching. If you ask for clarification he tells you that he already explained it. Tests are super hard but he grades kind of easy.. but he gives no guidelines on how you should go about studying for the tests as it does not even relate to any of the home/classwork.
he is super difficult, especially in summer. require stuff out of the textbook. seems that he like talent scientists and always mention them in class although he even doesnt have enough time fore lecture. i feel several guys in the class have past paper.
Mean, unreasonable, uncomprehensible, rude, insults people for basic questions, poor english = bad at explaining and understanding asked questions, wastes time, "this will not be on test, but I do not want to give too much time for test, so I will prove theorem".... 15 min before the test is supposed to start... "do not do that in my presence"
Definitely not the easiest teacher or the clearest, but if you give him and math a chance he can be a good professor. Even though the tests are long and not easy he grades leniently and if you remember all his notes and methods it shouldn't be a problem. If you're interested in an education and not just a grade to pass math he's definitely good.
Dr Kryliouk does his best to help you learn the material. Unlike many other math teachers, he doesn't want you to memorise anything, but rather wants you to understand it. He encourages questions in class and is really helpful in office hour. He taught me how to study well, and that's been so useful many times since his class. Thanks :)
Great professor! He made trig. so easy and interesting. He doesn't want you to memorize a thing, he focuses on understanding, so he let us use a formula sheet on all tests and the final! Highly recommend him! Goes out of his way to make sure students understand the material. fyi HW was on webassign, if you have old textbook, will have to pay extra!
The first impression you will probably get is his "accent" and you will be ohhh god, how will I understand. But later into the quarter you will understand everything! Hes really not that bad. One thing is this guy will never cancel class and he is always on time!
Hes really not that bad! Take him. Hes really good and his grading is sooo much easier than most professors. If you try to attempt a problem and still get it wrong, he will still give you partial credit for it! He assigns online hw for every sections though! I guess it helped, but it was always due at the end of the night.
He's super into math and you can tell just by the way he teaches. He goes really into depth, but takes his time. One of the best math teachers I've ever had
He really loves math and teaching it, and tries hard for us to learn it rather than memorize formulas. He has a Russian accent, but if you're comfortable with English you should be fine. He has very lenient grading, and his tests are based off the online hw. Good, safe choice for a math teacher. I did all the work and got an A. :D
The best instructor for math.So helpful and the test and quiz are pretty much like the HW.One quiz is take home. Not like Ms.Ison just memorize the formula.all formulas given in test and using calculator a lot. really wants to teach you the depth not all formulas. If he thinks you got the point,he grades you the way you can get the max point.
He is brilliant. Knows the subject in depth. He gives bonus point homework questions. Teaching is very clear. His grading style is very lenient!
Omg!! He is great. Took his class last quarter and got an A =). I would recommend him to anyone taking his class.
He is the boss!! Very nice teacher. I liked his class a lottt
This professor has an extraordinary command of the material and a passion for math that motivates even disinterested students. Thick accent sometimes makes him difficult to understand. Focuses on teaching the concept instead of memorization. Later exams allow a small index card cheat sheet. Mandatory Webassign homework.
Totally awesome professor! Got an A.
He is very inspiring teacher. Also grades leniently.
Homework is the key to get A in his class because most of his questions are related to his webassign homework.
I had him for 41 and found it easy, but with 42 the material was harder. He teaches pretty well, and is a fair grader (as long as you have the right idea you'll get some points). Online hw is important for doing well on tests/quizzes. The final was basically all the previous tests. I managed to scrape by with an A by the quarter's end. Recommended!
Pretty good class. Explains clear. His russian accent sounds cool!!. I changed my major to MATH after his MATH 1B class!
Professor kryliouk is a pro. He really prepares the class for math 1c. I took him for math 1b and now i am gonna take him for math 1c
He is the best math teacher at de anza. Thats all i can say
Just checked my grades from the spring quarter. Got an A, thought to rate him :). He is actually pretty good. Lectures are clear and interesting. Recomended!!
Took him for both 41 and 42, got an A+ in both. Great teacher with a lot of passion. Maybe it's the material but his quizzes and tests are extremely easy: same questions as on (WebAssign) homework. Has an accent but I never had trouble understanding. Recommended.
Very good teacher overall. He knows the material and, for the most part, knows how to communicate it. He is prone to making simple mistakes on the board. Watch out on tests. He's used series of questions where the beginning numbers of one are the answer to the previous one. But if you do the work and do some outside practice, you will pass.
very unclear, with strong accent, and he go through the materials too fast, very hard to catch up.
Awesome teacher! Probably the best math teacher in De Anza. He also has a cool russian accent haha but it is understandable.
No idea how I got an A. I was sure I was going to get a B+ or A-. He has an accent but it's not that bad. He tells you what each test question is about the day before the test (take advantage of that). Webassign homework is mandatory and is assigned 3-4 times a week and is due within 2 days after he posts it. He can be a little rude at times.
He's a good teacher. Tells you exactly what the questions are about on the test the day before. Fair grader. He gives you points for effort on exams. Final is basically all of the questions on previous exams combined (with some numbers changed). Homework due 2-3 times a week on Webassign. Recommended - I wouldn't hesitate to take him again.
He is my favorite math professor at De Anza for sure! He prepares you well for his tests if you attend class and do the hw. I got an A without having to study very much outside of doing all the webassign hw. :D His final is just all his previous tests combined. I hope I can get him again!! Plus he's a likable person, and has a fun accent. :D
His tests are definitely easy to get an A in if you've done all the homework and have studied the problems from the textbook. He is also VERY friendly, and would explain problems to me during his office hours, and so I always looked forward (somewhat) to going to his class, even though I hate calculus and think it's ridiculous. (Bio major).
He is a nice guy! Make sure you do all his homework on webassign, they will definitely appear on the quiz and tests! Nice class at all!
Plus, he doesn't give incredibly hard exams, always try to make us connect the dots.U can tell he certainly have huge passions toward mathematics by just the way he lectures. Hope I could take him again.
He is an AMAZING professor. Super easy and helpful. Has such a great sense of humor in class that keeps you going all the time. He does care about his students and never tries to trick students with test questions that look exactly the same as the homework ones
Awesome teacher. He's incredibly smart but is able to "dumb down" to our level. He gives practice tests before midterms and final (which are fairly similar to the actual tests). He doesn't have any problems that he hasn't fully taught us in class. He has an accent that can take anywhere from 1 day to a week to get used to. I had no problem tho
Sincere and genuine professor -- one of the best at De Anza. Towards the end of the quarter he starts spoon-feeding questions on the tests/final. He does go all out for Diff Eq and Linear Algebra (he is much harder for 2A&2B than for calculus). He is one of those professors that makes you feel like you "earned" the grade at the end -- totally fair
As a student I'm constantly witnessing the immeasurable wealth of Dr. Kryliouk's knowledge of mathematics, which gives me a true understanding of how math needs to be learned. And it was by his generosity, I found learning math is not just about solving problems, but also understanding the concepts behind it. He is a truly fair/easy professor.
To the end of my days, I would take this professor. His unparalleled knowledge of mathematics and the depth of the origin in the theorems and formulas he describes really helped me understand math. He is a humbled master with a great sense of kindness. If you meet him in his office hours, he really steps out of his way to help you.
I took Math 2B with Dr. Kryliouk and it was very easy. Even if I take him, I need test accommodation. I got an A in his class. I like Dr. Kryliouk the best. I'd like to take him (Dr. Kryliouk) for Math 2A to the end of my days next year.
This class is pretty difficult; however, one who has taken his class before understands the necessity of actively paying attention and constantly doing the homework he assigns. These things are absolute, and they're crucial in order to strive for excellence. If these conditions are met through diligence, he'll assist one on their quest to success.
Kryliouk is a great professor. He has a good sense of humor, a relaxed attitude, and is very willing to help students understand content. His class is never unruly or rushed. Grading is very fair (lowest midterm score dropped). Homework is online but not bad as far as that goes. I highly recommend him for those who really want to master content.
Helpful, friendly, and super easy. Do homework, cuz it will be on your exams, almost exactly the same. He does have accent, so if you struggle to do stuff, meet him in his office, he will explain more. 4 quizzes, 4 tests, 1 final
He is russian and hilarious to listen to for his lectures. Half of my class dropped but this class will separate the delinquents from the people willing to learn. If you're going to college as a formality, you know who you are. If you are here to give a damn about your life you will do fine. his tests are EASY beyond belief... the hw is easier
He's ok. Have Russian Accent. Required Web Assign but he's not grading the HWs. Quizzes are harder than tests! He gives hints on test! Grading is very generous.
Sometimes he gets all wordy and make me want to sleep. He doesn't mind to fall behind the teaching schedule, because he wants everyone to do well in the class. He does have an accent but even an international student like me can understands his accent. Do HW, study the quiz cuz it will show up on your test and final! pay attention and u will get A
Great profesor just take him and you will be fine. wish he was teaching 43 this quarter
He is the teacher who got me over my fear of math. Very clear explanations. As long as you don't miss class, do all your hw, study for quizzes, you will be fine. Every lesson is important as u learn something new each time. Btw, he is Ukrainian, not Russian. Speaks with an accent but it isn't that hard to understand him. Very lenient on grading!
In my personal experience, I believe this professor doesn't deserve to receive high ratings for Calculus. I took his MATH 1C and his lectures were confusing, unclear and doesn't know how to build connections with the concepts. Prepare to teach the material to yourself. Quizzes and Mid-terms are fair.
He is the best.
Super easy with tests and quizzes but I honestly felt like I didn't completely grasp the material. I'm the kind of person that likes to go in depth but didn't find that in this class. Mandatory online homework. Don't know if it's because we have an early morning class, but he's kind of mean sometimes...
Heard great things about my boy kryliouk, but his lectures in 2B make no sense at all. atleast he grades easily. this was basically a self learned class.
Alright math professor. His tests are easy, but his quizzes can be difficult. Lecture is dry and boring, so you may not learn a single thing because of how dull it is. Gives test questions day before test. I learned everything from Webassign.
I''ve been taking maths with Prof. Kryliouk ever since Math 42 and TBH this cute Russian man is definitely one of the best math teachers in De Anza for his care for his students to do good on the tests. Does have a little accent however. He would go over all the materials before tests AND HAS great senses of humor. Take m if u care about ur GPA.
Have to listen carefully, he speaks with an accent. Teaches by examples only. Tests are harder than the problems he does in class. Homework online on WebAssign with 5 attempts per problem. Send email out very late and expects students to have read it (Got one at 3 am). Only used textbook to self study for tests. Dropped from class after 3 no-shows.
He is a great professor. I would love to take him again if possible! He is always willing to help his students. He doesn't give a lot of homework, but you gotta make sure you are gonna be prepared for his tests and quizzes. His quizzes are more difficult than tests. I still don't know how is his final exam looks like.
He always seems to get irritated when people ask questions and answers them like it was so obvious. Quizzes are tougher than tests, but they're both fairly hard. Webassign homework weekly. No extra credit provided. He has a heavy accent so it's fairly difficult to understand him. He goes through problems very quick and often off screen
Funny. Helpful. Tells you what'll be on the test and grades them generously. Accent isn't bad at all.
i think he is one of the easiest math teacher i had; however i already knew Calc A concepts before so that might be why. also, i usually got A-'s in high school math, so i guess im above average. i got an A in his class. only thing is i didn't understand him through his accent, and he is grumpy. u need to self study, and the tests are fair imo.
Meh! Heard many students saying as well as comments on this website that his class is an easy A.---Idiot! I was fooled! They're all rumors! 4 quizzes+ 4 tests made up of our miserable judgment days! We're only given 40 minutes to finish a 20 Question test, "I CAN hear BEATS of my HEART at the last minute of the test!" Believe it or not. B.S.
Prof. Kryliouk was always very polite to me and was willing to answer any of my questions. His test and quizzes were a little on the lengthy side but if you knew the material it wasn't impossible-even tells you what will be on the test. He may come off as tough but overall he's a genuinely nice guy and a really great teacher! Definitely recommend.
The class is boring and you need to self study. 4 tests and 4 quizzes which are very easy. the only thing is the final is ridiculous
Definitely he is one of the most popular professor in deanza. He only has one 1B this quarter on7:30am. I can't even add in ! Plus my register time is not that late . I took his 1A in fall . He was helpful and funny. If u wanna a easy A, don't choose him. But if u really wanna learn something for ur future 1B,1C, he is the Choice.
He's a little bit confusing and unclear when teaching the concepts especially after the first unit. Otherwise, he was extremely helpful during his office hours since helped clarify what he was teaching.
Don't take this class. You'll regret it.
Kryliouk is a great professor. He taught 41 in a way that was easy to understand. Gives study guides for every test and told us every single thing we would need to study for the final. Help is always there when you need it, definitely recommend!
This teacher is so good, I would definitely recommend this teacher. His quizzes are harder than his test but are manageable & he tells you exactly whats on the test. He assigns hw to be completed on web assign & its usually 2-3 times a week (extensions are allowed). His handwriting is a bit messy but other than that he's a great teacher! TAKE HIM!!
Kryilouk is an awesome professor! Don't get thrown off by his heavy accent. It's hard to understand at first, but you'll get used it later on. His quizzes and tests tend to be more than 2 pages, but he's lenient in grading. As some other reviews say, his writing is messy but don't hesitate to ask him to clarify or for help!
Doesnt give extra credit,BUT he is extremely generous in grading. Honestly i deserved the lower grades, but Yaroslav is not greedy about giving the poiNts. It relates to other students as well. He reviews each question in upcoming tests and final! Thats so useful!
Kryliouk is not a very good professor. For one thing, he never asks the class if there are any questions and doesn't seem to care if students are engaged in the lecture. I've noticed that the vast majority of the class zones out and resorts to WebAssign for exam preparation. Exams are easy and test you on a superficial level. -Nagasai (Spring 2015)
Great proffesor. Gets straight to the point and is good at clarifying if needed. He is reasonable. Would recommend taking him
Make sure you ask questions! His lectures are straight forwards but you need to ask questions if you don't understand. If math is a struggle for you, get a tutor! I didn't have time for a tutor and would have done better. Don't miss class of you don't know what's going on in the lesson of the day before. You'll fall behind.
At the beginning, his accent makes me very confused, but you will get used to it in a week. He will give past exams before quiz and tests, so it's easy to get good grades. And he's very nice!
Lectures every day, but his accent is hard to understand, and his handwriting is a bit messy, so lecture notes were often hard to follow. Self-studying was enough to do okay on tests/quizzes. Gives old tests or quizzes for practice, which is basically the material on the actual test/quiz. Gives partial credit and is a fairly easy, generous grader.
Would have been better if the homework was from the book since Web Assign is so expensive and writing is a better form of memorization. Also his accent is hard to understand and his lesson is hard to follow, since everything is dude "ALGEBRAIC". However, his test should be easy since he emails you a review test/quiz
Don't take him. You are warned. Even though he gives you review tests and quizzes to practice on, you won't get it unless you actually get his lesson. Everything is self taught in my opinion. His lectures are confusing and way too complicated to understand. Also accent is hard to follow.
Had him for Calc 1A,1B,1C and now math 2B. Quizzes are on the harder size but prepare you for the tests which are much easier. If you go to office hours, he will happily help you. Decent amount of hw which he collects. Overall, he's a nice guy and good teacher. Definitely one of the best math teachers Ive had at de anza.
it was alright
Took him for linear Algebra. He is better than most math prof here at Deanza. He is more than fair with giving your partial credit on the quiz and exams even if u get the question wrong. His quiz and exams are medium difficulty, but not easy. His final is hard and it dropped my A to a B+. Hk is handwritten, 8-15 questions. He grades hk easy.
Summer class. He was pretty easy on us. It was okay to me. A+
he's very good.
Has unique, true russian personality. Does not have that "fake" personality; he is very direct person with a warn heart. If you need help, he will surely explain you unclear points during the office hours. He may seem strict at first, but believe me he wants you to succeed and do well. Have lots of respect for him. Thank you, Mr. Kryliouk!
I took Math 2A before with him. He's good.
Don't buy your textbook from Amazon because you need a WebAssign access code for this course which you get from the school or buying an e-book through WebAssign (about $90). He cracks jokes and explains the history of math which makes things interesting. Good teacher although he has an accent, and is fast-paced- so pay attention at all times.
Okay, I've always been pretty mediocre in math, but even if you are as well, follow his lectures and do the assigned HW, high score on the final and you'll pass the class. Received D's and C- on exams, scored a high A on the final and passed with a B-. Recommend to any who may be insecure with their math skills, he's willing to review in class.
His lecture is very basic, sometimes due to time management, even rush through it. You have to self-taught via textbook or Webassign in order to do well on tests and quizes. Problem on test and quiz are way advance from his lecture, on par with some hard webassign questions. Quizes and tests almost everyday. Not recommend if 1B is your last math.
Kryliouk's class is very lecture hvy Most of the class just zones out then runs up after class to take pictures of his notes During lecture you will have NO time to copy anything down he goes through the notes like he is Savitar the GOD of SPEED he writes so fast its like his notes contain a hidden message and you need a decoder ring to decipher it
His accent makes his class hard to understand. Web Assign is used, and get ready to do tons of homework. Also, you gotta study by yourself, watch some math videos on Youtube, so you'll be able to pass the class. Quizzes and tests are hard. Do not expect an easy A.
Diff equations is a complicated topic and he does a better job explaining difficult concepts than other teachers. At first, he seems rude but once you get to know him, he is actually nice. He is easy on students, test are very doable and gives lots of partial credit. Of course lots of self learning to complement lectures guys this is math duh!!
I liked take home quizzes if some students struggle the quizzes. Small homework everyday, 12 quizzes, and three exams. I enjoyed studying math, even though I'm an ESL student.
Great professor. You will learn a lot if you pay attention in class, and the quiz give everyone a chance to study and get good grades on test( if you study)
Doesn't try to trick you on tests. All the questions were similar to the homework questions. Lectures a bit fast and has an accent that may take some time to get used to. At first seems unenthusiastic but is actually pretty caring towards students. Reasonable grader and very accessible and willing to help students during office hours.
He makes the class easy for you. 4 quizzes that are sort of difficult, but 3 tests that are significantly easier. Before each test, he literally goes over each question that will be on the test and summarizes the concept needed for that question. That, along with the notecard he allows for each test, makes the tests a breeze. Highly recommended.
Very understanding professor. He takes attendance quite often. Lectures are not that clear, but you'll understand once he gives examples. There are 4 exams&based on the related quiz, examples he gave, and review day. 3x5 inch Cheat sheet is allowed during exams, but no particular examples. A lot of WebAssign HWs. Final is based on review day.
I had a good time in his class. Lectures are important to understand the content so attendance is important. Likes to explain theory before showing examples. He has a lot of quizzes and tests throughout the quarter. The content of the test always mirrors the quiz, and problems are almost always the same or similar. Didn't have too much trouble.
He has a really heavy Russian accent so its really difficult to understand him. Plus he goes so fast over things and he thinks everyone knows the material already. You will need understand anything!!! Avoid him at any cost! you will regret taking him even if you are good at math. Good luck
Kryliouk is one of the best math professors I have had. He goes over problems very slowly and will tell you exactly the types of problems he will put on the tests, so there's no surprises. His lectures were very clear and informative. Overall, very straightforward professor that cares about his students.
This class had 6 quizzes and 3 exams and a final. The quizzes can sometimes be pretty hard because he likes to ask true/false problems. The lectures are sometimes really boring but, they are pretty easy to follow. There are 2 projects worth 25 points which are quite easy. For exams, he tells you what will be on them before you take. Exams are hard
I loved him. He goes over the types of problems which will be on the test making them a breeze. imo the hw is harder than the tests (he will gladly give u extensions on the hw if you were too busy to do it). 2 mini projects which are basically a 1 sided worksheets which takes like 30 min to do. He does have a lot of quizzes (20 points each).
Lectures are clear and well prepared. You need to pay for HW on WebAssign. YOU NEED TO ASK FOR WHY HE DEDUCTS POINTS. If he can't explain it, he gives your points back. That's why he is a tough grader. Other than that he is good. First 3 tests are hard, last 2 are easy. You will find some help you need from students who have attend his class.
To be honest, this professor is a really good guy. He is very passionate about mathematics but don't mistake passionate with being a good lecturer. The only reason why I would even go to lecture is because he drops you if you get too many absences. The hw is online and it does not help you prepare for the test. Good luck if you take him.
MATH41 btw, the professor is a really nice guy, the class is pretty easy, he's pretty chill and don't expect highly from his students,... the thing is that he have a quite heavy Russian accent so I recommend sitting in the front so that you could better hear him, also for homework you'd have to pay $100 for the website after 14 days of trials.
Maybe he's not an amazing lecturer, but his 1D class is definitely not hard compared to other sections. He doesn't expect his students to be creative, so there's no extremely hard or weird problem on his tests (but there may be weird boundaries). It can be a little difficult to understand chapter 16, so do some reading. Don't expect extra credits.
he was much harder in math 43 than math 41. i sitll reccommend him. the day before the test he preps you for most of the questions but not all. some questions require critical thinking (frq). u can have a cheat sheet. it's important to go to lecture and practice HIS examples because most exam questions are his examples not the textbook.
He's easy. Do the web assign homework. He tells you what's on the test beforehand.
Prof. Kryliouk isnt a bad guy. He is really knowledgeable when it comes to math. He is not however a good educator. Being is his class consists basically of watching him do math. I would not recomend taking his course unless you have no other option.
Kryliouk is not the best teacher, but he is by far the easiest professor for 1D. He tells you the concept used on each question of the test the day before. Also, for quizzes and tests, he allows a 3x5 notecard for formulas, one side. Overall, if you are decent at self-studying, take him.
So long as you do the homework and show up to class, you will get an A. No ridiculous questions on tests. Tests are short since the class is (was) 50 minutes
Kryliouk is a decent teacher, but he is sometimes hard to follow and understand unless if you read the lesson beforehand. Lots of self study. Homework was on webassign for MATH1C and 1D. On the day before exams, he actually tells you the exact types of problems that will be on the exam. He gives generous points on his tests and quizzes too!
He's an okay teacher, he mostly solves problems from the textbook in class. Doesn't have a lot of interaction with the class, nobody ever asks questions lol. No notes on tests/quizzes but they are similar to the homework problems and his grading is very generous - if you write anything random down he will give some points for a problem.
Really good teacher. He grades easy too. I hope he has a nice retirement in Florida
No assignments only test, be prepared all the time. If the final answer is not correct, the grading depends on his mood. My friend got full marks for incorrect answer while I dint, guess he didn't like me very much Be prepared to write in small fonts because the space in paper is so limited that he can't finish answer in that space. worst teacher
