Very knowledgeable in Middle Eastern and world history. Probably the most interesting style of teaching I have ever had. Explains the topic that makes it easy for anyone not to understand. Mid-term and final (no essays. Has two film reviews for your writing requirement. I would strongly recommend him for both history and non-history majors.

He remembers every detail of history, probably has a photographic memory. When I took him he was off topic much of the time talking about the proper way to structure films, propaganda techniques, and not focusing on middle east women. The readings were too general and we never read any specific books or novels about famous women.

One of the best professors Ive taken at CSUSM. There were weekly discussion posts (only a few sentences), a midterm, a final, and a final paper. Hes an easy grader, hes just looking to see if you put in effort. The answers to the midterm and final are found in the lectures and he even hints to what will possibly be on the exam. Highly recommend

He is a really funny guy in lectures and uses personal experience to ground everything. Organization and due dates are often murky, but if you read the syllabus it is all in there. The book isn't required (its assigned but you don't have to read it to pass) and the tests are fairly easy. Just watch the lectures and read the articles carefully.

The professor has long lectures that you get weekly, so it is smart to split them up instead of watching in one sitting. The midterm and final are same format, and you don't get feedback on what about your submission was correct or why it was incorrect so it kind of makes it hard to improve for the final.

Avoid this professor by all means! There's little to no lecture in class however, you're still expected to attend and listen to random discussions started by students that have little to nothing to do with the class. Did I mention you have to watch his un-organized lectures online? He cares more about his personal research than being a professor.

This guy threatens you via email to drop the course, he'll give you an A on the midterm for a good review here. doesn't post any messages or updates. his lectures are literally collages of 35 minutes of memes on youtube. his final exam makes no sense and his study guide doesn't help anyone. I get the vibe he wants to be fired, we are reporting him.
