As long as you read the chapters and do the required exercises, you'll do fine. Don't expect any kind of help from him. He is the worst teacher you can have. He just can't explain. However, as I mentioned, just read the book, understand on your own.

Horrible!!! He doesn't explain anything, just does his powerpoint presentation which by the way is just the definitions in the book. Don't go to him for help, he will just tell you to read whatever page. AVOID HIM!!!

He says that he is your friend and makes you think that an A+ is no problem at all. No one understands anything he says. Extremely unhelpful and makes you feel stupid when you ask him a question or in his words "qusston". Believe you me, taking his class will put you off from ever taking accounting again. People like this man should not be allowed to become teachers. He doesn't actually do any teaching and he's not clear at all. I was a science student who took this course thinking that I might do an MBA after my undergrad degree and he told me that I was wasting my time considering taking business courses. What kind of advice is that!?!?

Listen, to all those who have taken his class, does this guy teach in Arabic or English? Joking aside (though communication is a major issue), the teacher is condescending, unapproachable, and merely skims the material as a formality. Fortunately, COMM 305 can be easily self-taught in its entirety.

This professor has the most incomprehensible accent out of all the Concordia professors. He cannot teach if his life depended on it. He asks very difficult questions on the exams and on the final there are no multiple choice. They are replaced by a question from the midterm. Good luck if you are stuck with him.

I got a B in this class, but I worked hard for it. Practice makes perfect, because you can't rely on this guy to help you out much. He's difficult to understand, and he throws curveballs at you on the final. Take SOS or whatever tutoring service you prefer, and study hard. You can get a good grade, just not with only 15 minutes, like he claims.

Difficult to understand what he says, I took class online, I went to his review sessions and learned nothing from it, he reviewed easy stuff and left important stuff which were on tests out. Plus test problems which count for alot were very different from what was on wiley plus. Difficult, don't know what to expect and grades are low!!!

What I remember the most from taking this course three times is "monkey see, monkey do." I take some accountability for not passing the first time, however I received nothing but poor explanations, dead end guidance and in the end sought out assistance from a CA at Deloitte. There is a distinct lack of clarity in his lectures, notably due to his accent and his chicken-scratch notes on the board. This is a difficult course as is, so either attend the tutorials instead or find a different lecturer.

First and foremost, Aly is an enemy not a friend. Approach his class with caution because it just may be the one that makes you consider dropping out of university. Attend the tutorials they're your only hope. Beware you have been warned ..

Guys just don't do it. Take the online class instead if you have to and go to the tutorials (a must to pass the midterm & final). Aly is the course coordinator & his exams are HARD. Better to take the class with a teacher that will explain the material in a way that you will understand inside out so you are prepared for his exams.

Even if you learned the bulk of the central concepts he will make the final about the things that are in the textbook once and have no importance in the grand scale of the course. Probably the worst teacher at JMSB. His lectures are useless and he tries to motivate students by talking about his philosophy in life. Avoid him at all cost, even though he is the course coordinator.

This is the worst professor in concordia. I have choosen the alternate date for my exam and he assigned me the normal date and I had to rush between work and when I emailed him that his reponse was no one rushed you to do this.

this prof genuinely doesn't care about his students and this proved to be accurate during these times I had sent him an email regarding the exam and if could include commas int the midterms and final since sometimes its hard to see and he replied saying I should study more . that is despicable behaviour from a high level prof he is inconsiderate

he is the course coordinator and he is the toughest grader. his questions are waaaay too long for the time you have. i really really do NOT recommend him otherwise your GPA is going to drop because of him.

Literally the worst prof ever. He's so inconsiderate I sent him a 5 paragraph email asking about some questions and concerns that I had regarding the exam and his reply was "I wish you all the best, sent from my iPhone". He has never showed any support during the semester, the tutors basically carried his whole class this is totally unacceptable.

COMM 305 is a class that requires lots of practice. The two midterm and final were on Wiley plus and were made unnecessarily hard. Time was a major constraint and Aly did not care about preparing us for what to expect. The fact that this man is the Course cordinator is shocking. I Emailed him once for a problem and he was blatantly rude. the worst.

The two midterms and final exam were incredibly long. Barely any time to complete them. Aly did not tell us the formats of the exam beforehand so it was really hard to prepare properly. The problems he suggests from the textbook also aren't the problems that show up on the final. Aly is extremely rude and unhelpful. Do not take his class.

There's no escaping him, he makes the exam for 305. And he makes it very difficult, that the students who study will barely pass. 40 calculation MCQs and 6 long (as in LOOOOOONG) answers for midterm 1. Probably ruined a lot of students confidence right off the bat. But it got better after that. Acc to others, he's terrible at handling wiley issues.

Worst class i've taken at jmsb. Hard or impossible to finish exams, you'd have assignments due on the same day as your 2 midterms. However, he's the coordinator so he manages to ruin all the sections with his exams and deadlines! Mathew's tutorials taught me more than he ever will. And any good review here is probably him writing about himself lol.

The hardest professor ever. Tough grader and it feels like he just wants to make us miserable. He is very inconsiderate, I had a huge problem for midterm 1 and he couldn't care less. As a student who never got a grade less than A- in my university studies, I can tell you that this guy ruined my confidence, to the extent that I considered dropping out of JMSB. I barely passed the class even though I studied the most for this class. Exams are impossible to complete. Luckily I can replace my grade with the "pass" notation.

Honestly, Aly is the worst professor you will ever get. He just goes on rants and tries to give you life advice rather than simplifying or even explaining the material. His lectures were completely useless. I just went to the tutorials and did very well because of it. I hope he leaves so someone better can take his place.

Horrible. The exams are horrendously long - almost everyone hands them in incomplete. The practice questions and assignments are nowhere near how difficult and complex the exam questions are. He claims that this class can be passed well if you do like 100 different things every week except most people take 4-5 classes per semester and can't do so.

His class feels more and more impossible to pass every year, Ive learned less about managerial accounting and more about managing panic attacks for this class. It is absolutely unnecessary to make this course so difficult. He is also not helpful at all with questions.

Dr. Aly's way of instruction is as unclear as it gets. His online exams consist of trick questions, lengthy case problems and is not designed for comprehension of course material. Fail. Single-handedly made Accounting the bane of many students' existence. For more clarification, briefly search on Casa JMSB's Facebook group. It will serve you well.

For every bad comment written about him it seems like he writes a good comment to balance it out. Dont fall for it. He doesnt help. He just commands and makes your life hard if you ask for help or run into a problem. There was a tech error in an online exam and he said study harder. What does your terrible system have to do with us studying?

Doesn't reply to emails, sloppy in his announcements (unclear and often leaves out critical information he promised to post), and an awful grader. The midterm averages are the lowest of any class I've seen and truly understanding the material is out of the question.

Took online class with Ibrahim Aly as the exam and course coordinator. No matter how hard you study, he makes the exam so long and confusing just for you to fail it. He is just trying to make your life more complicated. The class average for the midterm was around 30 to 40%, which explains everything. Made me hate this class and accounting

Taking Dr. Aly's class is like entering a challenge where the goal is to survive, not learn. His tests are so tough, he must enjoy making students miserable!!

All the other COMM 305 professors are super nice and helpful, except for him. He is the course coordinator and the one who writes the final exam. Because he's the coordinator, no one enjoys managerial accounting, especially those whose major isn't accounting!

COMM 305 is already a tough course, and even medium difficulty questions are challenging for students. But this instructor makes it even harder, causing more students to struggle. I really want to know why he does this.

I had deaths in my family and emailed as soon as I submitted short term absence leave. Didn't give extensions for wiley plus assignments and told me I could email him my other assignment after the deadline but I couldn't gain access to the questions. He did not care.

The course is tough without practice, and the instructor purposely makes the questions overly difficult to mislead students. He complicates even the easiest chapters, and there are no partial credits, only final answers count.
