She's really nice and clear on what she wants to grade you on. She gladly answers any questions for clarification. The content of Bio Lab is boring itself, but she is not strict. You can get easy points in this lab.

The best teacher ever, she is nice, always here to help you, very clear on what she expect you to do, always let you know your grade. Very interesting.... very friendly..... she makes this course so fun, just take her class, you won't be disappointed.

Very hard exams, you really have to study or will not get an A. Even if you complete all the homework correctly but if you don't do well on the exams you will not earn an A. She is a very good person and Professor, she will explain everything but you have to memorize a lot. We asked her for extra credit and she refused.

i hate biology and shes not terribly easy, the quizzes can be a little confusing but she makes up the points with note cards and skill checks. funny and very nice, would recommend her to anyone.

best bio teacher ever!

She knows her material and gives you lots of notes BUT her exams are not from her notes- you have to read the book and know how to apply them-tests are not that easy- you definitely need to study- she seldom gives extra credit, but the final is not cummulative- does not drop any tests or quizzes. Be prepared to study and apply to notes!

I had her for the honors course and she was extremely helpful and nice. Her tests are average if you STUDY. You do have to put forth effort to pass the class. If you go over the lectures once in awhile you'll be fine. I would recommend Dr. Ayala.

taking prof. ayala's class is one of the best decisions i had this semester.She makes difficult material sound simple and understandable.she knows the right questions to ask in quizzes.i'm not inclined to science,but i really enjoyed her lab,it's fun and interesting.she's nice and very able in what she's doing.

Study for quizzes every week...your grade depends on it. She goes a little fast when explaining the labs and sometimes you can't understand what she says because she has a thick accent. She is very nice though and labs are easy!

i am not a science fan at ALL, and i actually ENJOYED her class. i'm also an extremely shy person when it comes to just about anything, but she is so personable and friendly that i was completely comfortable asking her questions. she is the best and the cutest everrr. take her, you'll love her. :)

She is a fine teacher. I wont say that she is great. Just read the book thoroughly. All her questions are from the book. She gives tricky questions so dont take it too easy. She drops lowest n u can also do exra credit. She is not that helpful in the lab. labs are just fine..I managed to get an A..but it was not very easy.

The tests were not difficult and came directly from the lectures (don't even bother buying the book, it is a waste of money since you never use it). She is very nice and helpful and thorough. I learned more from her than most; she is worthy.

U need to do your your part, study hard and there is no problem of getting an A. she is a very good teacher. She repeats her material enough so that you learn it right away.Just need to study and attend class

One of the best teachers ever. Yes her test are difficult if you dont read the book but she does an amazing job at explaining complex biological processes. You will leave the class with complete understanding of biology. I highly recommend her.

I had her in biology honors, her tests are easy, gives good reviews. Her accent is easy to understand. For honors we had to write a very long research paper and present it to the class. It took me days to do it and she gave a better grade to my friend who wrote it the day before.

I think Dr. Ayala is a great teacher. She's extremely nice & ALWAYS willing to help. She makes the class very interesting. Tests seem to be easy, and offers some extra credit and homework for extra points. I will miss her when she leaves to have her baby!

This is the best teacher at BC right now. She is very clear about her grading scale, yet in the end, she grades you on what you DESERVE. If you go to class everyday and put forth effort, but don't quite get that A, she'll give it to you anyway. She responds to emails promptly and is very helpful and open with her students. She's young and fun!

She is an excellent instructor. She has a slight hispanic accent, but overall you can understand her. She is extremly detail-oriented. She gives you awesome notes and she does a lot of powerpoint presentation. She also have extra credit points after the exam which is very helpful. I wish she was teaching BSC1005L Winter 2009 =(

I dont like biology, and thanks to her I passed with an A. She is an excellent prof. She mades everything very easy. The attendance is not mandatory, but believe me, once you go to her class you wont want to miss it. SHE IS THE BEST!!!!

An absolutely wonderful teacher. She gives you her website that has all the notes you will ever need that you just print out and bring to class. She has no problem going over something you do not understand and I had no trouble with her accent, which I found sexy. She really knew what she was talking about also, could go really in depth.

Dr. Ayala is CRYSTAL CLEAR in her lectures. Lec's and Pwrpnt's come DIRECTLY from the book as well as her tests. Covers material quickly so it is best to PAY ATTENTION to her lectures, and then take notes from the book AFTER class. Her PPT's are available online which makes reviewing for tests easy. Review sheet is given for tests. READ the book!!!

I took this class online..and hear me when I say I SUCK at BiOLOGy! and got a B in the class, and didnt read any of the chapters. Just make sure u do her quizzes..10 questions 10 min..have that book opened for answer! Assignments are super easy. Print out her test reviews and read her chapter notes online..very helpful. TAKE HER! U wont regret it!!

Excellent Professor. It's a shame she does not teach BSC1011. Her lectures are clear and interesting. The material is not easy but if you read the notes and browse through the chapters, you'll be fine. She gives reviews for tests (5 test total)and even gave us extra credit quizzes before each test. Take her, you won't be sorry!

Im horrible at biology and i never studied not one bit for her tests or anything. I still passed tho. As long as you study for her tests, 4, then you should have no problem passing. She is very nice and easy going. Her assignments are easy. I would DEF take her again

I took BSC1010 Lab, she is sweet nice professor. her grading can be hard at times but she is amazing at what she dose. if you want to learn about the subject then take her. if you just want an easy way out than i would not recommend her. i had to earn my grade. you have a quiz each class on the lab before, pre labs and lab report each week

Amazing professor! she really knows what shes doing and enjoys teaching. Biology wasn't my favorite or best subject before, but I got an A in her bio lab and thought she was a really nice and understanding professor, probably the best i've ever had at bcc. I definitely recommend her.

BSC1011L: Awesome professor. She is cute and always helpful. You don't have to do lab reports, only skill checks every lab. Quizzes every time before class; as long as you listen to what she goes over the lab before and study that material you can do well. Two practicals throughout the semester - it helps to study throughout the whole semester.

I took Dr. Ayala this summmer for bio Lab. She is absolutly AMAZING. Extremely helpful! She makes biology fun and interesting. Tests are easy and straight from your notes and in-lab activities. Without a doubt this is the BEST teacher I have had at BC thus far.

She is a great professor, but her test are killer hard. She does not drop the lowest grade, but we do not have a midterm or final. BEWARE you have to study her test because they are HARD!!!! Her bio lab is just as hard! STUDY STUDY STUDY

I dont understand how anyone could rate her poorly. Its BIOLOGY for science majors! Obviously you have to study but she gives extra credit for each exam as well as other assignments that help boost your grade. The class is not difficult at all she even gives a review sheet of everything that will be on the exam! Easy A if you study point blank.

Everything thats been said is true. Her online class is NOT easy. She LOVES what she does and is good at it. If you want to learn the material take HER class. Quiz and Exam questions come from class notes. She uses video clips to help teach info. Also, she provides exam review outlines, and all 4 EXAMS are taken at campus learning center.

A tough course, but she really does all she can to prepare you. Pay close attention to her lectures and you'll do well on the exams. DON'T SKIP CLASS. The lab reports and extra credit quizzes are easy points. Dr. Ayala is a biology expert and will take the time to help anyone as much as needed. She's a sweet science hottie who loves to teach.

She is wonderful. I took her online course. This was a hard subject for me, but she found a way for me to actually like the subject. I would advise reading her notes and reading the book. Some topics on the exams are not covered in detail in the notes, but they are in the book. If you need a science class, she is a must if you want to do well.

I am a senior at UM now, but I had Dr. Ayala for bio at Broward before I transferred. I felt compelled to come back here and update my review of Dr. Ayala. I cannot even begin to tell you how her class has helped prepare my for my upper level classes. She is an amazing resource and if you are serious about bio you will use every single tiny detail that she has taught you for the next few years. We have amazing professors at UM but Ayala ranks right up there with the best of them. Take her class!

Dr. Ayala is an amazing professor. Her class is difficult but she will be available to help and really wants you to do well. I wanted to drop the class but she encouraged me to hang in there and I am glad I did. Take her if you want to learn a lot, study hard and you will make it. Gives 6 tests, 2 group projects and extra credit quizes.

This Professor is Awesome. I realized after two weeks that I did not want to take Biology anymore, however, this class was not difficult at all. Put it this way, I studied sometimes the day of the Midterms and I passed the class. She offers extra credit so that helped me too. But if you like Bio and want an A or B, take her.

So easy. She is funny, the sweetest, and adorable! I loved this class so much fun. Went by fast but got over a hundred percent that easy plus she drops the lowest grade for quizzes, labs, and prelabs.

Took this class on line. She was very clear about what was expected. Actual class work that was due didn't take too much time, but a good amount of studying is needed for the tests. The extra credit is literally worth like half a percent by the end of the semester and takes quite a bit of time, but it helped a lot with my tests. Great professor!

i loved that she was very passionate about biology. Her first three tests are semi easy, but you HAVE to study study study! Study the book, her test are very detailed! the fourth and fifth were the hardest test. This bio class is NOT an easy A! and she doesnt drop the lowest grade. test average were never higher than a 75%

Dr. Ayala is a brilliant professor! But make no mistake, this is a very hard class and you have to study very hard. She does not give any "gifts," you get what you earn. She is extremely knowledgable and very helpful, but YOU have to do the work. There are no easy micro teachers. Had for Lab and Lecture! Very difficult, but worth it!

This Professor is AWESOME! Can't wait to take her again for Bio 1. She is really smart and helpful. Show up to lecture, study hard and you should do fine. Not an easy A but if you work hard you could do it. She does talk really fast and has a Spanish accent, but is worth taking!

This class is very hard. Although I got an A I busted my butt. I would study for hours. She is a good teacher but make sure that you read your book!! many people fail because they don't read it helps you APPLY the material. She has extra credit quizzes and assessments; so your grades aren't just tests. Be prepared to work hard. You can do it.

Dr.Ayala is an amazing professor. She is dedicated to helping her students. Her class is easy if you study and read the notes she gives you. She also gives pre-labs which helps to make you understand the material before attending class. She gives extra credit and she makes microbiology understandable.

This class is hard. You must read the chapters, and understand what you are reading not just memorize or you will not pass the class. There are 5 exams 5 assignments,5 extra credits, and a case study. I got a B :) she is a very nice lady, but she won't give any Extra credit beyond the 5 points in total for the whole semester.

The tests are not easy. If you read the book you should pass the class. You don't need a tutor to pass with a C. You just need to read the book. If you get a tutor maybe you can get an A or B. Test questions are very specific. Read the book.

Getting an A in this class is possible. She's a great professor and really understands the material. She will take time to talk to you if you need help or have any questions. Read the chapters, take notes during lecture, and do the online assignments and extra credit. The tests are challenging but she gives you the tools you need to get your A.

She is one of the best teachers I've ever had. She makes everything clear, easy to understand and is very helpful.This class is a lot of work. You have pre-labs, post-lab quizzes, written exams and practicals, but this is standard for most of the micro labs. There is a 30 point extra credit opportunity. If you do all the work, you can get an A.

Dr. Ayala Is one of the most knowledgeable people I know. She knows her students. When I didn't do as well on her exams. she personally asked me if everything is ok. I've taken her for several classes. Micro, Bio and Genetics. Her class is not easy, but you will learn. you have to read the book. Read and Re-Read. I highly recommend her.

Attendance is important. Safety is important. Dr. Ayala is very proficient in this field and I grew to admire and respect her deeply. I will remember her in my future endeavors. She is very understanding but she's serious about microbiology she's the best!

Her syllabus and exams don't sound like how she is in lecture. Her lectures are not bad to listen to. Her exams are an eye-opener; make sure you study those chapters ASAP. Pay attention on what she emphasizes on ppts. Do the assessments and extra credit quizzes online, they'll help. There's one group project at the end.

I LOVE Dr. Ayala. Amazing professor, made microbiology interesting. I took her for lab and lecture. Lab was not a joke, definitely had to study and work for it and attendance is required. Lecture exams were straight forward, either you studied and knew the info or you didn't. Great teaching style, she is so caring. I would recommend her to anyone!!

This professor is by FAR the best I've had at BC my whole 2years of college!!!! She listens when you have a problem with the coursework and is there to help. I had her for lecture and lab and her lectures are interesting because she relates it to real world events. Her labs are super fun and she explains every single lab before class.

I can't say she was easy because you actually have to study, but definitely if you read her lessons online under the unit chapters, complete the online quizzes and assignments which are not hard at all! and you study everything she specifies to study for in her exam guide, you should pass with an A. The tests are about all she tells you study for.

Took online over the summer. Most I'll say is that you don't have to remember everything. Just don't miss deadlines and you'll be fine.

If you are looking for an online biology class, I would highly recommend Dr. Ayala. Professor was very organized and answers your emails within a day. This class is not an easy A, but if you put the effort in and finish all assignment by the due date, you should pass with a C.

Professor tells you what will be on the exam on her power points & lectures, which is a life saver considering the book contains a lot of details. She is aware that we won't all be working in genetics, so she tests on key concepts. Her tests were easy, IMO but I took the time to prepare well for her exams. Very fair grader.

Professor Ayala is an amazing professor. She's very well informed and cares about her students and their grades. This class has a lot of information but if you attend class and study you'll pass.

Professor Ayala cares about her students, she makes she you understand what you're doing before you even begin the lab. There are pre labs for every lab and post labs as well, if you study and pay attention to what she tells you then there is no reason that you wouldn't pass her class, really wished she taught Micro lecture.

Bio can be a hard subject for some but professor Ayala really breaks it down for everyone and wants you to pass. She may come off as intimidating at first but she's honestly a real sweetheart and don't be afraid to ask questions and is very understanding. Dr. Ayala made my last semester at BC exciting but nerve breaking at the same time. Micro is a difficult subject overall but she breaks it down and made it easy to understand. She cares deeply about her students. She is very sweet and helpful. I passed with a B, an A is not hard just put in the work for the practicals.

(Class was during summer 2017) I really enjoyed her class! She made biology fun for those of us who aren't majoring in biology/any science related field. Grading is just pre-lab (10 questions), quizzes (from the previous lab), and participation. Just show up, participate in the lab, and do a quick review and you will be just fine!

She is passionate about Biology! Very knowledgeable! I was really scared that I wasn't going to pass because it was a lot of information to take in a short amount of time (summer class). But she does great review games that really help. I studied a lot and made flash cards for every test! She is kind and I highly recommend. Defiantly passable.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER TAKEN. I have struggled my whole life with biology, and she made it so easy to learn! she's kind, she is willing to help, she is an excellent professor. As long as you do what she asks you do too, (this includes preparing for quizzes and reading the book) you'll pass with an A. I will actually miss her!!!!!!

Wonderful professor. 5 Unit tests and a final. She drops your lowest of the 6 exams (which includes the final). HW is done through Connect and D2L. She provides study guidelines to help you focus on what's important for the test and is a really clear explainer of all the topics. Uses Kahoot as a study tool and many questions show up on the test!

This is a solid professor to take if you need to pass Biology. I took this professor in a short 6 week course and since its condensed there are a lot of assignments due throughout the week (5-10 assignments, discussions, or quizzes all together). There are 3 extra credit assignments and she drops your lowest quiz grade. 5 exams 5th one optional.

She's so easy. Take this class online. Quiz questions are the same as test questions. She has lecture notes that really helps. EXTRRRA CREDITT!!! She was very helpful when my course notes weren't available she emailed me them. She responds very quickly.

Took this class in session 3 of the summer (6 weeks long). Multiple assignments, discussions, and quizzes were due every week. Lot's of reading (for a 6 week class). 3x easy extra credit. She also uses the remind app. It helped me remember work that was due.

This isn't an easy A, but it is definitely doable. Study and take notes! Assignments and quizzes are only worth 10 pts while the proctored exams are worth 100 pts. I wouldn't suggest you to take this class during the summer because it can be a bit overwhelming. Everything is due within 48hrs because she doesn't like to open assignments up early.

I RECOMMEND THIS CLASS TO EVERYONE! A very easy A, and this is coming from someone who hates science. There is a test online before every class (easy) and there's a test each class going over what you did in the last class. For those I studied 20 minutes before the class began, and I never got anything less than an A. For CW, just participate, 100

She is amazing. Very organized, sweet, and funny. Always available. She replies within 5 minutes. Tests are similar to what she talks about in class. She posts the grades quickly. Super nice and caring. She is also very good at explaining the material. The only con is the connect lab assignments that are very time consuming. Do the connect labs!!

Amazing professor, she explains everything clearly that'll be on post labs, written tests, and midterms/finals practicals. Best professor ever!! She is so passionate about what she teaches and it shows. I loved her lectures. One needs to work hard to get a good grade but it was still a very enjoyable class. Reading the textbook helped me so much, definitely recommend that. Be aware she assigns an online portion that is very time consuming but is a great study tool.

She is the best. Micro is hard but study hard and you will be fine. No pop quizzes and she gives DETAILED in depth REVIEWS for both her written tests and practicals. She is super nice and organized. Take Obenauf for lecture and Ayala for lab. Perfect combination. I got As in both of them. You will not pass if you fail to study.

One of the best teacher I had so far. She does amazing lectures and she is accessible outside the class or on the app call remind. She gives pre lab and post lab quizzes on d2L, and her exams are only about her lectures, no surprise, if you studie you will pass the class with a A. I highly recommend her.

Good choice. Lots of homework, but its SUPER short/easy & helps your grade because she doesnt give extra credit or bump up. Very organized. Microbiology lab is a bit challenging, but hers is probably the easiest. Grades are weighted fairly. Only negative comments are that she presents the info rather than teaches it and she can be a bit picky

She was a good professor, she set up a remind group chat and reminded the class of assignments that were due and offered 4 extra credit quizzes. The discussions and assignments were super easy, the exam, SUPER HARD. THE STUDY GUIDE DOES NOT PREPARE YOU! THE STUDY GUIDES ARE NOTHING LIKE THE TESTS. AND THE TEST WERE WORTH MAJORITY OF YOUR GRADE.

i'm so glad i took her, she gives a lot of extra credits and honestly if you do all the discussions, quizzes, assignments, you will do good. There's 4 exams and one final, she dropped the lowest exams grade and quiz grade. if you happy with your grade you don't have to take the final. she also give study guides. And this was 6 weeks class online.

Wish I could have also selected "hilarious," Dr. A. gives incredible lectures, always with a sense of humor. She is extremely intelligent and has a lot of knowledge to share, and provides excellent materials for exam prep. You will learn so much from her. If she sees that you care about the class she will help you. there are a lot of assignments and hw, but you have time to do it. her class is made to pass at least with a C, the assignments help a lot. she rounds your final grade and she drops your lowest test score. Final test its optional you can take it if you want to replace your lowest score.

TAKE HER. She's straight to the point, sweet and caring. So many quizzes that are SO easy and ends up helping you with your overall grade. Her practical and exams are EXACTLY like what she tells you to study. I slacked in the beginning is why I received the B but honestly an easy A. Show up to class and do the lab. She's willing to help.

Very clear when explaining. I took two classes with her and got an A for both. You just have to study and at least read her powerpoints, and take notes. Very fair when giving exams and grading.

Dr. Ayala is an awesome prof and this was my 2nd time taking her class for Science. This prof is very passionate and cares about the students but you need to do your part to pass the class. The class consist of 4 disc, 7 assign, 11 quizzes, 5 exams & 4 extra credit. The exams are very hard and they consists of several chapters so study study study.

She was a wonderful professor. Microbiology is a heavy course but she tried her hardest to work with us. Homework assignments help boost grade and include questions on her test. She tells you what to study for and gives practice questions during class. Study what she tells you to and you should be just fine.

Dr. Ayala is the best micro professor! micro is already difficult but she provides study guides for each exam and extra lecture videos. As long as you meet her half way, you are set for success. there is homework for each chapter and she might just be extra nice and give out extra credit. over all she is very caring, funny, and understanding.

I had Dr. Ayala for both lecture and lab. Lab was very to the point and easy. study guides were given for midterm and final as well as in between exams. there were 4 exams total there is an exam before the midterm and final which help tremendously . she provided mini lectures on the exercises and powerpoints. A group project was done but not hard.

Class is not mandatory. She pre records her lectures and gives you all the info you need. Her test are based off of her study guides, Kahoot and connect homework questions... She really cares about her students and truly wants them all to pass. 5 exams, Connect homework, and 1 project that you work on with a partner.

I really enjoyed this class. The teacher gave clear instructions. She drops the lowest quiz and exam grades and gives extra credit. Even though there were many exams, the reading and assignments helped me understand everything I needed and the exams were not as hard as I imagined. She's one of my favorite teachers I've had so far.

She usually does Kahoot for her classes but if you are unsure about a topic she will explain it until you get it. Her exams are kind of difficult but she gives many resources for you to study from. Make sure to do all of the homework on time and study a lot. Follow her duty guide, many things are not on her exam but she won't tell you that.

I took her for a session 2, both lecture and lab and didnt have a life outside her class. If you take her dont take her for a short session! Shes definitely worth the rating; although her class wasnt easy and the grade I received makes me feel like I couldve done much more I shouldve done things that couldve been better for my grade overall; nothing but respect for her she truly is a good bio professor; I have to retake the course but I know things will be different when it comes.

Professor Ayala is very passionate and knowledgeable. She goes fast during her lectures but she provides very detailed notes that help. Her exam are hard so you have to study. She gives an exam outline with topics on the exam but it is mostly a review not exactly like the exam. She does a kahoot and uses McGraw-Hill for homework.

Professor Idelisa Ayala was a good overall professor. There was a lot of reading and many test, so prepare to do your work. She is straight forward with her assessments and reviews all your work before grading. Take her full time it is a lot of work. Apart from the quizzes, you have 4 heavy exams that are the majority of your grade.

I had took Professor Ayala for both MCB2010 and MCB2010L and I do not regret taking her online course. If you want to pass microbiology lecture/lab it a must you take her class. Her exams doesn't affect your grade just focus on the connect assignments and quizzes. Quizzes and exams are honor lock except finals exams. It a very easy class!

However, she is an individual who will display empathy and leniency if you explain your challenges to her; and she will also reschedule due dates in favor of the class. Took this class during my post-bac year. Dr. Ayala is the most caring professor I have ever met(including my whole undergrad career). She genuinely wants you to succeed and makes sure to provide her students with plenty of resources to ensure you understand the material. Her exams are extremely straightforward too.

Genuinely one of the nicest and most caring professors ever. She is incredibly sweet and wants to see everyone succeed. Her classes are short and cover 90% of the material on her exams, with the rest being in her short and easy modules online. The rest of the grade comes from weekly connect assignments/quizzes and two very fun and simple projects.

She made the material fun and easy to understand. While she doesn't lecture much on the lab and the majority of it is learned either in the weekly connect assignments/quizzes, the skills are taught very well and you will leave feeling proficient in them. The m practical's are the hardest part of this class, but are both passable with effort.

I LOVE professor Ayala. I had her for both the lecture and lab and she's the best. She provides all the resources necessary in order to do good on the quizzes/exams. You do need to obviously do your part in studying for the class but it's really not that bad especially with the kahoots and the study guides.

Took her class this spring for lab and lecture if you didnt get a good grade and complain they didnt put in the work period. Her lecture is really heavy, study guide alone is not good enough the kahoots will help out so much. and lab dont bother missing a day everyday counts. pay attention take good notes study at the asc work with groups!!

Gives extra credit vocab quizzes which help your grade and gives study guides for the 4 exams, but they include a lot of content so studying a lot is a must because the exams can be difficult otherwise. She also removes the lowest test grade which really helps if you don't do well on one of them.

This was a very tough class with a ton of reading and homework. It requires strong focus and plenty of study time. However, the professor was extremely helpful...clear grading criteria, sends reminders for due dates, extra credit opportunities, and great feedback. Very challenging course for me personally, but an excellent professor!

I really enjoyed her lab. She is an excellent lab instructor. I had her for both lab and lecture. No, don't take her for lecture. She is a very though grade. If you want a A in lab, she is the right professor but if you are very sensitive like me and you tend to be affected by how people make you feel, don't take her.
