Professor Melmamed is the easiest Math Professor at Kingsborough. His exams are OPEN-BOOK, even the FINAL is OPEN-BOOK!!! I will be taking him again for Math 9.

One of the best professors in kcc, he knows how to teach, he is funny and easy going. don't get me wrong - you need to work hard for your grade! also, his accent is not as bad as it sounds at the first moment. everybody can understand him. i will definitely recommend him to friends.

This guy is an amazing professor. He presents his work in a very clean and clear manner, it's hard not to understand what he's teaching. His russian accent is not that thick, it's just right. He gives out a review sheet before exams. If you do your HW and review sheets, the exams are a piece of cake.

I had this professor when i started at kingsborough for my compass exam i had to drop his class due to family issues. I took my compass twice and i never passed it but when i finally got took him again this past semester i passed with a 79 when i was only suppose to get a 45.This professor i know in my heart wants a student to learn. I realized after taking his class, it was me all along that was weak at math, but he was the first math teacher in my entire life to actually get through to me. This guy is a great professor. He is very clear and descriptive with his lessons. The dictation that he gives us is amazingly on point. I wish he was able to be my professor for MAT 10, 14 and 15. But unfortunately he isn't teaching in the winter, but will def try to get him for Mat 15! Highly recommend him if you really want to learn your math!

I used to HATEEEEE math until I took this class. It comes off as a hard class but as long as you pay VERY close attention and study your notes, you'll do great. He's a very funny professor. He comes off as strict but he just wants you to do good. Highly recommend!

Got an A and he's truly the best and felt so confident with him. 4 tests, and drops lowest grade. But don't worry, the tests are super easy if you listen to him.

Best math prof. ever! I wish he taught every math course at KBCC. I dislike algebra a lot but he made learning at 8 a.m. so easy; thorough and clear. Light hw (rarely checked it) but does help refresh your memory. Good attendance is important. Drops lowest test score.

After dropping 2 math classes from teachers that themselves had no idea what they were doing and barely spoke english, it was a blessing to have a professor like Igor Melamed. He knew how to actually teach math and made it relatively easy to understand what was going on.

I took his class during the summer so don't let the tough grader scare you away from his class. His lectures on the different math equations and rules really help you understand the concept. Homework is important so don't skip it even if you feel you know the subject.

He came off as hard at first, put in the effort, attend class and pass this course that people are scared of. Hey, ask questions if you dont understand cause he usually thinks people already get the hang of something when they dont. Also submit your Homework, i repeat submit your correct homework. His tests are harder, exam is easier.

This is probably the best math professor you will ever have. I SUCK at math and received an A- with him, open notes tests and he's very clear on what will be on them.

He is actually the best. If you get the chance to take him, DO IT. He is patient and will go over anything you need, but he will make funny little remarks/comebacks that'll make you and everyone laugh if you continuously ask the same question. While he technically gives hw every night, he doesn't check it. DO IT ANYWAY SO YOU LEARN! 100% worth it.

Great professor who actually teaches and teaches a bit ahead which will be helpful in future courses. Is not available for tutoring most of the time, so if you are a student who depends on tutoring that may be an issue if you do not like the math resource center. His knowledge is impressive, very wise person, and gives great advice when asked.

Professor Melamed is so great, I just had to take him again. I took his R3 course (got an A) and loved it. He made me so good at math, Im on my way to my second A in Math! He may seem unfriendly when he first enters the classroom, but he is not really that way. Hes friendly and encouraging. Dont miss the chance to take him!

Thanks to this professor, I started thinking faster, which made me proud of myself. After getting D in R 3 with professor Melamed I took my next level, Mat 900 with him again. No jokes, I chose him again and made it for an A. He is intelligent professor with good handwriting (i hate when professors write on a board like students). Take him.

I took this professor first time, he was teaching me R3, it is a super easy class, glad that I took in the winter session. He is amazing, I was surprised to see how many times he can explain the same materials to students who do not understand, without any negative feedback. Hes a good professor, but the not the best. He expects you to know everything and keeps saying you learned this and that in high school. I personally didnt like his style of teaching, and I passed math 900 because it was easy! However, the good thing this professor does is giving homework which help you to prepare for the final!

Everything was explained in a manner that was easy to understand. This is coming from someone who is generally weak in mathematics. He will start with easy problems and gradually progress to harder ones depending how the class is understanding the material. Highly recommend.

If your not good at Math this is the best Math Professor Hands down in KBCC. Enroll with him you wont regret it, I sucked in the beginning I didnt even know how to add and subtract negative numbers or subtract numbers, I was extremely bad. But this guy will get you through it and hes very funny. Hell break down problems and motivate you!

Prof Melamed is an incredible prof! He goes a bit fast but if u have a question abt a problem he'll be glad to go over it until u understand. The grades are based on attendance, 3/4 test (drops the lowest grade) & the final. Attendance is important & mandatory but if u come within the 1st 15 mins of class he'll mark u as if u were on time. Ive taken professor Melamed for M1 & M2. He has a wonderful personality and is very clear with his lessons in class, he doesnt rush through and always asks if anyone needs to go over anything. He doesnt get annoyed when asked to do so. Do your homework he will randomly ask you for answers in class from the homework. Attendance is a must.

Professor Melamed taught me for both M1 and M2, when I saw him again as my teacher for M2 I was ecstatic, he is not only a great professor but he is very invested in making sure you understand the course content. He is very easy going and will work to help you if you fail a quiz. He drops the lowest grade on exams as well. Great professor!

I had Professor Melamed for M1 and M5. I was always pretty bad at math, but this professor made everything feel much easier to me. He is very good at explaining things, and he has more patiences than most math professors i've had in the past. He drops the lowest test grade, and assigns homework but its not graded. I 100% recommend taking him.

If you love math you will love the professor and his way of teaching, it's just so simple with him. He will explain every step and if you do your homework you will pass with an A. It was great having him, has a sense of humor and goes out of his way to help you but you must be willing to help your own self.

It was a pleasure having this class. I needed it just for the credit, however, I enjoyed it a lot. Everything was on point! Extra credit every week, a reasonable amount of homework, and great lectures. If you are struggling with math I would 100% recommend Professor Melamed.

Professor Melamed is a great professor. I took Mat 9B0. Homework every week (pretty easy if you pay attention to the weekly material), 4 exams and final. Drops 2 lowest homeworks and 1 exam. He explains everything and makes math seems easy. I would take him again. Highly recommended.
