A wonderful professor. He is very knowledgeable about Business Law. He gives lectures every day over what he wants his students to know, gives a study guide over what he teaches and then goes over the study guide before every test. Great teacher.Enjoyable to be around.And takes a subject that could be very boring and makes it a lot more interesting

His grading is tough, and his tests are difficult. However, if you pay attention in class you will get all the info you need to be prepared.

It’s surprising this professor’s rating is so low. He makes clear what students should know for tests, and gives ample time for questions and/or further explanations of study guide material. Students may dislike his teaching style only because he requires class participation, which is not an unreasonable expectation. I highly recommend him.

I enjoyed this class, he helped the international students, he will give you a studyguide, you dont need to through all the books, just focus on the meterial which he gives to you, you will get a good score, he is also a nice person

Very fast paced, but if you show up and pay attention to what Dr. Alkhatib is saying, you should do well. He also provides a study guide that covers that you should know. Bus Law in general is a very difficult class but Dr. Alkhatib does a great job of going over what u need to know. As long as u pay attention, do the study guide given & make note cards of the vocab you reviewed in class you will done fine. There is a lot of content and Alkhatib realizes that and make u understand the surface stuff! He is also funny

Coming in to the class, I was very worried about it being a lecture formatted class. However, Mr. Alkhatib made it a very interesting class. He uses the book every day in class for you to follow along with. You are allowed a study guide for each test. Take advantage of the study guide because there is a ton of material to be covered!

Complete lecture. Use the book every day. While he is often moody, he is one of my favorite professors. He uses real-world examples and makes the information fun. He often makes jokes and the class is enjoyable. One of my favorite classes at MSU to date. Wonderful guy. Plus, he gives a huge curve at the end of the semester, hint hint

He is a pretty clear cut professor. All of the tests are TF, fill in the blank and open response questions. He gives you a study guide for each class so you won't be completely in the dark. His tests aren't too hard. Not a bad class. I would definitely take him. It's not an easy class. You will have to study.

It would help if you read the power points online before you come to class everything on there will be on the test. He makes the class interesting with his funny examples. The examples he gives in class are on the test too. If you read the PowerPoint presentations and do the study guide you can get a good grade.

Class is ALL lectures. But they are entertaining and you actually learn if you take notes and pay attention. Only grades in class were 4 Exams and 2 'papers'. He grades tough on exams and his questions are purposely tricky. He gives study guides that make up most of the test. Study well and you'll do fine. I would take again! He is hilarious!

This was my second year with him. This was an interesting class I would highly suggest for legal studies minors. You learn so much and Dr. Alkhatib is so funny. He truly cares about the students and goes out of his way to help you. Great man. I will take him again. He treats this class as a true elective.

A requirement for legal studies minors. You need to read the book and put all of your effort into the assignments. Study for exams. Ultimately if you genuinely put in the work Dr. Alkhatib will see that. He is always there for the students. This is the third class I have taken with him and I will be taking more. He is precedented as a very tough teacher. However, he is great! He is very funny and keeps his lectures interesting. The expectations for the tests are clear, but there is always a lot of true/false and it is very challenging. One negative is that the writing assignments are very ambiguous on grading--no clear guidelines.

I took Dr. Alkhatib for LST240 online & I was really concerned to begin the class because i'd never taken an online class before... the class is now finished & I HIGHLY recommend him. He was extremely helpful, answered all my emails within 24 hours (most with 3 hours), & gave study guides for everything. If you're considering this online.. DO IT!:)

Dr. Alkhatib keeps his lectures interesting by relating the current topics to stories he has from his past experience as a legal consultant. Before each exam, he has a review day where any student can ask questions about the material - but you'll want to read the study guide before then. If he gives you an open book exam - don't underestimate it!

Dr. Alkhatib is sometimes difficult to understand due to the language barrier, but most of the time the information that he is trying to convey is clear. Make sure to go to class--the bulk of the test material comes from the lecture. He gives quite a bit of extra credit throughout the semester that you can take advantage of if you need better grade

Probably one of my favorite classes so far. Took it since it is mandatory for the business program and he makes everything you are learning applicable to real life situations. So many easy opportunities for extra credit and you are given a study guide for each test, and if you do it then you are golden.

He's a funny guy. Here really had the class interacting with the lecture and he gives study guides for every chapter, video and exam.

He is a very reasonable man if you go to class and participate. He is very funny and will give you second chances to fix your work, so take them.

Dr Alkhatib expects you to be in class. What ever he goes over in class is what is on the test. Participation is a must. This can make a deference in a B or C. He is very knowledgeable about law and ethics and will use examples in class. Very good professor. I have had him for 2 classes.

He gives you a chance to correct most assignments after he grades them for a chance to get a higher grade. He doesn't give the best feedback on your paper but he gives you a chance to ask questions about the assignments. The homework is reasonable and the tests are mostly putting what you've learned into practice.

Even though Dr. Alkhatib does not return exams, he was very good about allowing students to review their exam 1-on-1 to discuss any issues. I learned a lot and had a great class.

His lecture's are easy to follow & it's important to bring your book to class. Some of his test questions are difficult but he offers extra credit for most of his exams.

Super awesome professor. If you just talk in class and use the study guides before the exam then you will pass if not get an A. All of our exams were open book this semester, then we had one very short paper and one presentation that as long as you had something to say you got a 100%. Favorite professor at MSU!

This was a fun and informative class. As long as you pay attention and review your notes, you'll do great. He also provided a big extra credit opportunity. Very fair grading, reasonable assignments, and test questions very closely matched study guide questions. I definitely would take a class from him again.

Dr. Alkhatib is a great man with lots of life experience practicing as a lawyer, and lots of funny personal stories. His lectures can be dry sometimes. There is no homework - only tests and some papers. Do all of the readings. Do all of the extra credit. If you are concerned about your grade - go talk to him! He is very nice and helpful.

This class is structured around tests- read ppts. You have two writing assignments and if you put effort- you will get 100% on them. The rest of your grade depends on the tests. He provides you with study guides---DO THEM and you will do good on the tests. Not everything on the study guides will be on the test and some other random things maybe on.

This is my favorite professor. He's very helpful in explaining what you do not understand and how he graded your assignment. We got tons of in-class practice instead of tons of graded material, and this was very beneficial because it helped us to be better prepared to do well on graded assignments. Pretty much read off of slides for the whole class. He told random little stories that didn't relate but were funny. His tests didn't have a lot of questions, but that meant that each question was worth more so if you missed four, you were already at a B. He's really goof about rounding up grades if you talk to him. So much extra credit! Good guy.

This class was definitely doable if you attended the lectures and studied for the exams. There are plenty of opportunities for extra credit and he sometimes allows open book/note tests. I dont know is an acceptable answer in class discussions and he wont make you feel stupid for not knowing. Just be prepared to get called on in class!

I had Professor Alkhatib two semesters and he was nothing but helpful with each question I had. I enjoyed going to his class and office hours to talk about the exam because he will explain why your answer was wrong and explain the correct answer. He is a really great professor. I took it online and he was clear on what he wanted. If you had any questions and you emailed him, he responses quickly. Do the discussion boards, they are a huge part of your grade. I didnt do so good on the test, but i still got a good grade. His quizes questions are not on his test. You have to work for your grade

Ive had Dr. Alkhatib for several classes and LST 310 was no different than the others. He is very funny and has practiced law himself so he is very knowledgeable about the content. If you need time or extra help he is always more than happy to accommodate you. Take as many classes with him as you can.

Dr. Alkhatib takes attendance every day but you will want to go to class. He makes each class enjoyable with stories from his life but also gets you prepared for his tests and assignments. There are usually lots of extra credit opportunities in his classes and these can make a tremendous difference if you take advantage of them all.

Show up, dont look lost, answer with something reasonable if called on. No homework in the class, just 5 exams and a couple other assignments. Hes funny and understands most people dont have a passion for law. He knows law and knows that we dont. Not a hard class to get an A in if you study decently.

The tests are the most important parts of class. There are 4 exams and 1 final plus two projects during the semester but that is it. No other grades. If you study hard and pay attention in class you would have no issue passing the class.

Overall the class is not hard if you show up to class, take notes and listen. If you need help with anything he is always available during his office hours ! He will work with you and is very understanding I recommend taking his course

Dr. Alkhatib as a professor is great. Go to the lectures, even if you don't want to. He takes attendance, but if you honestly just show up, skim the readings and pay attention, you'll do fine in the course. He makes the course enjoyable and engaging. The book is used in this course and you should study, but don't break your back over it.

Does not use any notes, powerpoints, or visuals

This professor is so funny! Uses great stories to help you understand content. Do the study guide and study it because the test has all the same content. Answers can be found using the powerpoints on canvas. 5 tests, 1 read and answer, and a courthouse visit. The only way you could not get an A is not coming to class and not doing the studyguide.

Best professor I've had in any university. Had Dr. Alkhatib for a two week summer class (4 hours a day). He made things interesting and I learned more from 2 weeks from him than I did from most in an entire semester. Anyone can see that he truly cares about his students. He had interesting stories and real life experience related to the material.

I really enjoy his perspective on the issues he discusses, and his lectures are very engaging. All you need to do to pass is show up to class, read the chapters, and use the study guides and you're set.

This class has a unique, but rewarding structure. Most of your grades will come from the five exams given throughout the semester. There is not much homework for this class, but you will need to keep up with the reading and take good notes for the exams. The professor is really funny and relates most of the topics to his own experiences.

One of my favorite professors ever. SO SO funny. The only downside is that his tests don't correlate with his study guides. Though, before our final he asked for feedback and I told him that, and the last exam was very similar to the guide, and it helped so much. So much extra credit. I got at least 10% on almost all my exams, and 20% twice.

My only complaint is that he randomly calls on people. And always the same people. My name was at the top of the role, and I was called on every single day. While other students were called maybe 2-3 times the entire semester. The questions range from an opinion on a moral question, random questions just to see if u know, and reading out loud.

In the beginning, it's gonna seem like a lot, but towards the end of semester, the test start to become open book and he gives a lot more extra credit. He will pass you if you care about his class.
