Ms. Loubser teaches English. She helps her students everyday and has the papers graded in a respectuful amount of time. If English is not your strong pursuit, she helps you through it and will help you all semester. She is wonderful and you need to take her. you will learn a lot.

Very easy and nice teacher. has alot of busy work but isnt so bad. took her over the summer and she was very lenient on the grades and assignments. she helps you alot if u ask for it. got an A in the course, wouldnt mind takin her agian for another class. pretty hot and fun so it makes the class go by faster.

Well once you get past her looks you realize that she has allot to offer! Well read and world traveler so she has allot to say, the class was never dull, in class discussion were great and so was the hottie next to me that kept me laughing all day. She is a very nice teacher. Very understanding and will take time out to help you personally. There were no quizzes nor busy-works assigned which made the class so much more managable. This class is great. Prof Loubser is a bit of a feminist but I'm not complaining. She's really understanding & always gives extensions on all our papers. She's always willing to help on anything you have trouble on. Just do the work on time & you're good. The only reason why anyone would get a bad grade in this class is because you're REALLY lazy!

Very nice and easy. She only made you write 3 out of class essays, and the rest were in class. All you have to do is finish the assignments and you will do fine. And she even reviews your essays during the peer review. I guess some people just want an easy grade without having to do any of the work. Sad!

Prof. Loubser is what I expected for college level, fair and thorough. I learned plenty of things in her class, probably mostly because I was interested to begin with. If you are looking for an easy pass, pass on her class. If, however, you're actually wanting to learn about writing, I suggest her ENGL 1301 class. She makes it as fun as she can.

She is a pretty good prefessor. This class made writing essays very easy. She grades kind of hard though but there is always help available during peer reviews. she has good tips in writing. I SAY TAKE THE CLASS! you'll learn to write better!

I like this class, seems hard but its all a matter of keeping up with your work, extremely helpfull, will guide you how to achieve a good paper, would recomend her,

compared to other 1302 classes she gives A LOT of assignments but they are not terrible. I believe we ended up with 12 papers in total. She has high expectations of her students and gives fair grades. If you're in college to be challenged, this is the right class. Over all, I appreciate her ability to push beyond the normal expectations.

Prof Loubser is not easy but you will definitely learn how to write properly. We wrote four essays, one research paper, and six journals. It is a lot of work but if you follow her instructions and outline, you will get a decent grade.

This class will make you want to enjoy writing. She cares about her students and helps them on their final grade, if she sees them working hard. Her class consists of 4 essays and journals (must read before class!). All in all, she's great.

Great teacher. She always worked with me. But I wanted to be a better writer. She is not easy, but I learned how to organize an essay and how to write a research paper. She missed class because she had the stomache flu and she made sure that we didn't suffer because of it. I think some people just like to complain!

She was awsome. Very clear about what she expects. I finally learned organization with my papers, if your a mama's boy and full of excuses don't take it only for dedicated mature students. The class will be a sucess if you apply yourself.

I took her class over the Summer and it was well worth my time and effort. She is helpful and understanding of her students and if you put forth the effort and do what she says you will make a good grade. Professor Loubser's class is no walk in the park. She grades hard, but it helps students learn. She is a very fun teacher to be around and is constantly making the class laugh. I do not exaggerate when i say this lady has personal problems. She is very insightful when it comes to literature, however it does not make up for her teaching/grading/assignment policys, stricter than bootcamp. Professor Loubser is by far the hardest professor I have ever had. However, I can honestly say that I lerned so much about writing because of her. I love how structured her class is, it makes it so much easier to follow. Her outlines may seem a bit overwhelming, but trust me when I say its only for your benefit as a student.

Professor Loubser is a great teacher. I learned a lot in her class and I made a good grade. The only thing that made her class hard to get through is her attitude about every one else. She seems to think she is perfect and it can get annoying. She also misuses big words sometimes which is funny because she did criticize some students for that.

This professor is a bit difficult. SHe is willing to help you out though... before or after class. She grades very hard on essays. She just wants you to be able to write correctly. But she gives you chances by re-writes. I recommend taking her if you want to learn how to write. But don't take her if you are lazy.

I took this professor in Spring of 2011. She was excellent. She really taught me how to structure an essay and how to actually write it. She is a bit strict, but if you do the work, it shouldn't be too difficult to pass. She loves PARTICIPATION so read the text and participate in class discussions

Worst teacher ever! very difficult, and had to write an essay every single day. Her emails are pages long. She explains everything very thoroughlt but she is very boring and her deadlines are brutal. Do not take her unless you love writing and you understand and know what you are doing!

Best English professor I've ever had. Her assignments are tough but if you follow everything she teaches during her lectures, you should be able to make a solid grade. She is very helpful so you should seek out her during her office hours whenever you need help on your essay. Online discussions are easy and so are the online MyCompLab assignments.

I've taken Professor Loubser for the past two semesters for ENGL 1301 and 1302, and let me just say, I did not regret it. At first, she comes off as intimidating, and seems like the epitome of a college professor, but once you talk to her, she's really the sweetest person every. Take the class, work for your grade, and talk to her. Simple.

It was super scare at the first class. She has very high demand. However, just take good note in class. On your essay, reword what she said in class and you will be good. Extremely intimidating. The first week of class I contemplated dropping her, but if you're a student that values a true learning experience you'll realize her cause. Grades aren't given, they're earned. Time is sensitive in this class. You'll write at least 10K words in this class. You will learn in this class, or you'll cry. The choice is yours.

Professor Loubser is definitely not an easy A, but if you are focused, willing to put time into your papers, and don't stray away from key points in her lectures you learn ALOT from her. She is also intimidating and high maintenanced so do not miss deadlines.

Our honors English class was a very tough one. One thing for sure that i got out of that class was how to actually write a paper. The class was very intense and reading was important. 3 papers and one final paper. Online homework and 3 presentations. Take the professor if you are really up for the task. If you're not a hardworking student, this class isn't for you. Otherwise, she's an amazing professor and will truly make you a better writer if you commit. She forces you to read beyond the text of novel, discovering the implied meaning, not simply the plot of the story. As a result, I have a newfound appreciation for literature.

She is not a mean teacher nor a rude person, however she is very particular in how she wants things. She has the best intent for her students and wants to make sure you pass. If you have English as secondary language be aware you have to work double . She expects from us to write a pretigious essay without any errors . I feels like I am not ready for English 1302 even I did great in 1301.

Going into the class, you should already be aware of the basics of English pertaining to writing and constructing essays in a sufficient manner. Professor Loubser requires and expects the same level of competence from all her students no matter what age or background. She does not tolerate laziness and expects the best out of all her students.

Professor Loubser is the first teacher I met who is willing to read my essay before I submit the assignment. She will go over the whole essay and tell you which part you should do some change. HOWEVER,I would not say this class is an easy A class, but it really a good class. I highly recommend the students who expect to learn things take her class.

took her for ENGL 3430 at UHV this spring 2020 semester. Her class is well structured and gives you examples of how she wants your assignments to look. Did not consider her hard 5 or 6 assignments and discussions due every friday. one big research paper 12 page minimum but it is related to your career. Choose her

Professor Loubser is the best professor I've had at HCC so far. She is not an easy professor, but you learn a lot about English and how to write clear, detailed papers. Don't take this class if you're not willing to work hard, because she has high expectations, but she is fair. She is great at explaining concepts and grading papers clearly.

If English is not your first language I dont recommend this class unless your English is good. If you take this class theres 3 essays and a final essay which count for most of the grade and some participation things that dont count a lot but still count. My experience in person was ok and online was better because we had been in person helped.

You can make an A but it is quite a bit of work. It is doable but you need time to do this class if you want to make an A. If you know basic English then you can take her and put in the work to get an A. Theres 4 essays and one group presentation and some participation assignments that are easy because you just have to do them or participate.

That is my first time ever writing a review for any professor, but Professor Loubser is worth it! Never I had such an amazing teacher who actually knows what she is talking about. Once one student told me that after Professor Loubser, I will get an easy A in other English courses. That is 100% true! Hard work in class will succeed in the future!

I loved taking her classes. Her Canvas was organized and easy to navigate. Only 3 assignments and she gives over a month to work on each of them. She LITERALLY hands it all to you, you just have to follow her rubric. She purposefully makes herself appear intimidating, but she warms up. Tough grader, but if you follow her requirements, you'll pass.

The teacher is great. I can guarantee the people that are hating on her didn't follow instructions.She gave precise instruction on what to do, what to avoid and her essays were easy, she told us on what to write in which paragraph, even gave topic sentences. U only have to find quotes & write your thoughts. Btw I got 95.2 in her class.
