She is not funny. She is not inspirational. She does not care. She does not show any signs of being respectful to her students. I'm Glad I wasn't in her lecture, because she is threatened by questions! Progress emails are bull. But according to her " Just Hang In There" is the best answer. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. You have been warned.
She came to school to help for midterm and final. She reads her e-mails. I got responses every time I e-mailed her. I do not know know what the other Math 8 students are talking about. If you take an online class you have to teach yourself period. She gives homework but reasonable. You have to repeat it to learn it. I highly recommend her.
She is a God sent for returning students and older students like myself. I have not done math for 30 years. She explained everything step by step. I came to class everyday. It paid off. I will take her next class in the spring. If she offers everything else I will take her.
Honestly a good teacher. A lot of homework though. I guess you need to practice a lot. Sometimes repetitive.
Professor White was a wonderful instructor. She is always willing to help and support. Her videos helped me a lot during the class, and she is always welcome students to come to her office hours. I would take her class again!

Even though this was an online class I came in to use her office hours. She was very clear about how to solve problems step by step. I also used her videos. Yes there was homework but I do not see how else you can learn the material in an online class. I will take statistics with her next.
She gave extra credit for each quiz we took. She gave worksheets at every class. Homework was online but manageable. Quizzes were in class. I took modules while I did this class. I am glad I did. Too bad she is not teaching beginning algebra next semester. I am seriously considering to wait for her to teach it before I take the next class.
NEVER TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!! You won't learn anything from her classes. Tough class if you take this class. Nothing learned in her course. All the materials in classes are from the book. However, the tests are much harder than what you learned. I can't learn anything from her class.
Somewhat hard class for non engineering majors. However if you are an engineering or science major you are in for a treat. A lot of hands-on applicable stuff, stories and support. If you are in her class just to get by take someone else. If you want to learn and get educated, take her.
The best math professor I have had. She is exceptionally organized. She should train other teachers on how to be organized, clear, and concise. She provides every piece of information in her lectures. Lectures are lucid, but you have to earn your grade by following the instructions and timely doing the homework. Then, you will succeed.
She is an awesome teacher when you are ready to learn. She may be impatient with losers. It is too bad that I will not be able to take her class next semester since she is not teaching 3B. I highly recommend her.
All she does is give you TONS of work with no aid. This is 100% a self-taught class. I watched lectures from 4 different professors throughout the course (none of her own material). Midterm and Final in person. She was so impersonal and rude, definitely does not care to have a relationship with her students. No EC offered. Horrible math class.
I was browsing through ended up in Prof. White's review. I could not help myself and had to post. Prof. White is an excellent teacher. I took her class a few years ago ended up with an A. Be careful reading posts from online students who complain about her requirement to self teach an online class.
Expect homework. LOTS. 300 questions/ chapter. I was only able to get 75% of the homework done and I gave it my all. However the Professor was very helpful even making special midterm reviews and Final reviews for the online students around my schedule. She is very funny and personable in person with a no BS attitude. Not easy/good teacher tho.
Hopefully she teaches 3B. Retaking the class with her even though got a non passing grade. Highly recommended.

Professor White is very knowledgeable and funny.
I took her class online. Amazingly she was very helpful. I was reluctant at first. She made the class pretty easy to follow. She came to school in the evenings and reviewed the material. It really is not an online class. But it sure beats the traditional class.
Short Summary of the class: the majority of the class is failing, she mocks/disrespects students in front of their peers, has thick accent, has poor teaching skills, I struggled and self-taught Calculus by the book, only five students with an A (me included), and I ended up dropping because I was tired of self-teaching and got into Gupta instead.
Took 3A from her. She is very organized. She puts lectures online which helps. Not the easiest but if you do homework a sure A. I recommend her.
She is willing to help outside of class, but does not answer your questions in class and will dismiss some legitimate questions as "stupid" and will not answer them; assumes you are automatically wrong and she is right when explaining struggles or constructive criticism about her class. She also teaches very, very fast and does not slow down.

Leant a lot from the class. A bunch of projects are required throughout the semester, which comprise the majority of the grade. Need to invest time for this class.
She is a very nice Math Professor and wants to see everyone pass. Before the Mid-term and Final she held a in-person meeting for those who wanted to come and prepare for the test. I found that to be very caring and helpful for the class to get a good grade.
So I took her online course and I got a B. This class will be a difficult A and you have to work for your B, but in my opinion, an easy C. She can be a little intimidating when you first meet her but if you ask for help she will always be there. Yes there's a lot of hw but it's helpful. Quizzes are EASY points if you do hw. Study for midterm&final
Never once in my time I have spent in her class have I ever regretted taking her class. She never ceased to disappoint me, and I know that she sees the brightest potential in everyone even though others prove her otherwise. So please go do yourself a favor and take White if you ever get a chance to, and want to learn a ton. :)
Dont do it for petes sake. Stay away from this class. Don't be a fool and make the same mistake i did. Worst person ever. Can't even call her a professor because she doesnt deserve it.

I'm still a current student in her class. I'll manage to get a B by the end. HOWEVER, she teaches very fast, and you WILL have to self-study to pass. Tests don't have curves at all, but she always lets you redeem at usually 3 points, which raisees the score by 15%. Midterm doesn't apply. Last test is a takehome test so you can get a 100%. it's hard
DO NOT TAKE HER. Tests make up 20% of your grade, HW is worth 20%, midterm's worth another 20%, and the final is worth 40%. She is the toughest grader ever, she almost never gives partial credit. She teaches under the assumption that every student in her class is an engineer so she goes really fast. She basically humiliates you if you ask questions
This was the single worst Professor I have ever taken. She fails to explain the material clearly and gets mad at students for asking questions. EXTREMELY rude and condescending. By the second midterm half the class had dropped because they were failing. The study guides are not AT ALL reflective of the test material, and the tests are really hard.
DO NOT TAKE HER! I'll say about her is that she can teach. I was able to teach myself w/the online HW tho. Other than that, she is RUDE and NOT HELPFUL. If you ask her a question, she'll humiliate you for even asking a question. She did that to me and then continued to joke about it to the class. Only upside is that HW helps your grade alot.
Probably the worst professor I've ever had. Her notes didn't make any sense and she moved through the material quickly. She never bothered to really answer anybody's questions to make sure the class knew what was going on. Half the class stopped showing up because everybody realized we're better off teaching ourselves. Avoid this class if you can.
A $100 calculator+ a $100 subscription to Pearson are required. Unclear lectures with lots of giant formulas that you won't ever have to use in the end and in general many unnecessary info that will only confuse you Look out because it will get a lot harder after the midterm, do the hw in advance as they are really a lot each time and use YouTube!
Sometimes funny, not really helpful. She gets angry if you don't raise your hand and once you do, she tells a student to answer it instead of her. Fantastic.
If you read the posts carefully you can see the bad ones are posted by slackers. I took the Math 10 with her and aced it. She is very flexible. She lets you use graphing calculators and teaches you how to use them. I learned quite a bit. I recommend her.
She is a terrible teacher. She basically leaves you to fend for yourself. Unfortunately, her lectures are hard to understand because of her accent as well. Do not take unless you're really dedicated to teaching yourself.

I took her class online. She gave us choices of attending office hours at 9 pm at night. That worked out really well for me. During office hours, she solved about 15 problems an hour. I ended up with an A. You do the work, you get the credit. I am a returning student (a little older).
I took her hybrid class. I however attended every lecture. If you do what she tells you to do. You will be ok. I thought she was way better than a few other math teachers I had.
This professor is a seemingly nice person, but she snaps at people and is not a good representation of how a professor should act. Though her tests are not that difficult, and she may know the subject well, she is not great at teaching it. She's also blind to the fact that over 50% of her class fails tests and states "Overall, the class did well."
This professor is extremely condescending and rude. She doesn't answer any questions you ask her in class with an absolute answer; instead, she will imply that you're an idiot. She fails to explain things thoroughly and just assumes you're dumb if you don't understand it.

I asked her if I could redo the midterm drill, she said no. When I asked for help, she was too busy. Worst professor!
Ay caramba. This class was very problematic for me there is such a heavy and tedious workload. The weekly quizzes are very hard, the midterm and final (m/c and written parts) also very challenging. The syllabus makes no sense so it takes a while to get into the routine.I don't recommend this prof since she is inaccessible and condescending. rip tbh
Professor Erbas-White is the most coolest professor I've ever met. She can make the Mathematic class easy and fun. I really enjoyed it! I attended her her online office hours every week. That was a life saver. You attend office hours, do homework, no brainer you will get an A

Expect no help from her, when you ask her a question she will say "figure it out" or "not my problem" or"watch the videos online". This course will have HW online, from "Pearson" textbook is also online, and you have pay $107 extra for the access code. She lectures very fast, does not wait for the students to understand. She's funny though.
Not worth it to take this professor, took stats decided to give her a try as a last resort teacher to finish stats, totally not worth it, if are in same position i am, dont bother, wait another semester to transfer. I got an A in calc and my friend made me help him with her study guide and it was difficult. Half the class fails the exams no curve. She shuns you for not knowing stuff
She is condescending and rude. Her comments are off color and funny but definitely rude at the same time. If you don't know the material, she won't help you. You're basically teaching the material to yourself. Good luck keeping up during lectures as she speeds through them and won't slow down for anyone.
I've loved math my whole life. However taking this class with Professor White has made me question my major: Electrical Engineering. The Course is pretty difficult, however, if you have the right professor, you should be fine. Professor White repeatedly skips steps during a lecture, which is unacceptable while teaching such an intricate subject.
Iwouldnt say she's the best for first impressions. She kinda expects her students to know what theyre learning, not really the best to negotiate with grades. can be rude at times. but she is kinda nice. we get redemptions on tests if most of us didnt perform well. and gives us practice tests which is similar to the actual test. she is loud
I took Math 10 from her and let me tell you that she is not very good at teaching. She gets up set when you ask question because "you should already know it". I would not recommend anyone to take her course but if you have to, you should be able to learn the material by yourself.
Do not take her class if you're not good at math. She lectures very fast and very few people get A's in her class. She has no care for students who are struggling and will get mad at you if you don't understand something. Most of this class is teaching yourself and it's very time-consuming. Take someone else.
She gives TONS of extra points in forms of test redemption so your chances of getting an A are high. I'm talking a whole 10-15% increase in a test score. Those that expect a passing grade to be handed on a silver platter should not take this class. You really have to work for and strive for the highest grade possible.

Tests are impossible to pass, class average is an F. They are timed, and more than 50% did not even finish them. She doesn't know how to teach, she assumes everyone knows the material as much as she does. Homework is online and takes a long time to do, most of it is new material not learned in class so you need to google the answer.
I took her online. I however came to school to see her. If you are not serious do not take her. She will not pamper you. If you want to learn go right ahead. Ideal for older returning students.

Tests are 10x harder than her study guides and contains material thats not in the book
Verbally bullies many students who don't understand previous/current lessons. If she's having a bad day, she'll even make it personal depending on who you are. I group study with others and tests are very hard to earn an A. HW is easy and doesn't help. Tests are different than the study guides she gives.
A lot of extra credit if you do not do well. Not recommended for lighthearted.

Honestly, her teaching methods were sometimes unorganized and confusing. But still try to attend class and take notes, because you'll still learn. Also, she gives a lot of extra credit in the form of test redemptions (too much, imo). If you do all the test redemptions and don't get at least a B in the class, then you are probably unmotivated.

She's not tactful but is honest. Online homework required. Exams are very difficult. A lot of extra credit to redeem your grade though in the form of redoing all of your missed test problems. Lectures weren't helpful because she moves too quickly and doesn't explain what step she's doing (assuming you will know). Still learned a lot.

She expects you learn everything quickly. Not suitable for someone who studies math slowly and takes time to process new topics. She did help boost my grade by giving redemptions for almost every test. But i still had troubles in getting a better grade.

I am one of those students that took intermediate algebra 4 times before being able to pass. That being said, statistics was very intimidating. Professor Eras-White is very straight to the point, helpful, easily available by phone or email. I had to work to earn my grade, but I was extremely satisfied in the end.

I took her math3A in the fall and got an A. She is very clear and concise about what she wants and how she will grade. Math 3B is a much harder class and she did not give out as much redemptions(extra credit) as she did the first sem. Her lectures were very rushed and some tests were very hard. You got to really put in the time if you want an A.
She does not teach, she writes problems on the board and if you get it wrong, she puts an unhappy face. She does not ever show you what you did wrong or how to fix it. She is a funny lady, but her teaching days need to be over. She is extremely unorganized. I only passed by asking other students for help and spending long hours outside of class.

She has a dry sense of humor, and teaches best when the class is being sarcastic and humorous in return. Everyday was the same schedule so class was predictable. I took intermediate algebra and my math skills improved a lot in that time. Use her office hours and youtube videos if the class lecture was lacking.

She is honestly such a kind woman. I heard she was super tough and could be mean, but those people probably just didn't follow directions because she's been nothing but really sweet. Just follow the rules and do your homework as soon in the week as you can, ask for help if you need it, and you will do great with her. She's much nicer than most.

I took her during the summer so class was very fast paced. She is very quick to respond to emails. She does a web seminar to go over the midterm and final. You are able to ask questions from the practice exams. I failed my last class and was able to pass this one with an A. She really seems to care about her students and wants to see you succeed.
Hw 2x a week and mini projects every other week. She typed up everything she wants you to know from the book for you. She does give participation but you dont need to listen to her lecture. She just read everything she typed which you could download. For the final, study all the quizzes and exams and youll be fine.
Professor White is not a great teacher. She is hard to understand due to her heavy accent and she goes extremely quick through the material. She is very smart so her way of thinking is different from many of her students. In addition, she is pretty rude and frequently yelled or made fun of students. The class was all self-teaching.
I did ok for her math3A class. expected an A but ended up getting a B. I decided to take her again for math3B, near the final I was at a borderline C. So I decided to fail the class because my major requirements required at least a B. If you decide to be in her class, make sure that you work hard for it. The prof is tough.

My tutor had to leave the country the week of my finals & Professor White was extremely understanding & helpful. She genuinely cares if you put in the effort & will help you pass the class. The tests were considerably different from the practice tests, so make sure you REALLY know the material even further than what she tells you to practice.

She is respected in the academic community. However she can come off as abrasive, rude or unhelpful during her lecture times. I feel like she is indeed pushing students to understand the content on their own- which is the point of education I guess. I wished she were more helpful with some topics during her lectures. Shes a terrible teacher, she has a very strong accent thats hard to understand, shes rude, and assigns a lot of webassign homework. She once gave credit to others for a question, I asked to get credit and she told me what, you want to go from an F to an F+? I ended up getting a W, I was learning all the material online because she cant teach.

IVC doesn't use the grading schema of +/- letter grades. So all the reviews for IVC you see on this site where the student claims he got a letter grade +/- is simply fake and not written by a student from that College.

This class was difficult because it was all online. If you struggle with Math or online classes do not take this one. The quizzes and tests were hard so find extra time to review. The professor was helpful with questions I had but could still be confusing. I would recommend taking a Math class on campus you are able to.
The class was like a constant roller coaster where at every slight turn you got smacked in the face by a water balloon. Learning in this class is comparable to slamming your head onto the table fifteen times and hoping that you were able to understand her. I highly recommend that you NEVER take this professor. Professor White expectations are clear. 4 Tests , 1 midterm and 1 Final. However online mandatory homework wan't helpful , it rather wasted my time and didn't help me to understand the concepts. if math is not easy for you, DO NOT take her online class. It was so much work, she has confrence hours/videos/lectures avail. but if you need more hands-on learning I don not recommend this class. The tests/quizzes are fairly easy, but the online program hw can be really rough. I do not personally find her teaching easy, so I got a tutor.

She is a extremely tough grader and is test heavy. Her class is boring and un-helpful.
Terrible teacher. When you ask questions she replies with "Because I say so" or "Solve it and you will find out." She just solves the problem and does not explain the steps to solving the problem. She had very obvious favorites in the class and was oblivious when they cheat on tests. Also, her class felt like an ad for her club.

Taking a math class online? Save yourself- do not take this professor's class. She is technologically illiterate, and if you ask her to explain a concept or a problem, she will not describe her steps and will instead give you a vague "hint" of what you need to do to solve a problem. She asks classmates to help you instead because she won't.
She periodically asks if we understand what she is saying during the lectures. This was really helpful especially because I am not that great in math. Despite the fact that this was an 8 week summer course, it was not as rushed as I thought it would be. But this is because she was able to explain everything efficiently. Good teacher!

Online using Zoom, Canvas, and MyLab (Pearson). As the class progressed, the amount of homework was unbearable, too many things due at the same time or too close to each other. Professor White is one of the most caring but hardest Professors Ive ever taken. She is a tough grader but she offers a lot of extra credit. She cares for her students and really wants them to succeed which is why she is tough when it comes to her tests and does not tolerate cheating, hence, Proctorio. If you truly want to learn, take her.
She's wonderful! She doesn't suffer fools gladly and nor should she have to. This is college now, and people should be able to pull themselves together! This is a tough class with a large volume of work that moves at a quick pace. But she is brilliant at explaining everything, extremely supportive IF you are willing to put in the work for yourself.
Ms. White is not understanding at all. She has no sympathy or cares to be helpful to her students. In her syllabus she states she won't take any excuse if you miss class or need an extension. As someone who occasionally gets sick due to medical reasons, class would be very inconvenient as if I were to be ill once, she would drop me from her class.

Starting off, I have above 90% on MATH 3A. I am not that good in math but I do put in the work to get the grade I desire. I ended up dropping this class despite the work I put into it. The test questions were on another level compared to the homework. On top of that, she is rude and yells at her students when they ask questions. Ms. White is a caring teacher. Even though this class was online because of COVID she kept on top of things with synchronous lectures. You attend lectures, you do homework, it is an easy A. If you are weak with matrices study those ahead of time. I also like that she introduced us to MATLAB.
I took this class with coreq support. I am not good in math. I attended her office hours online. That is a must. She went over thing step by step. I ended up with an A. My first A in years and my confidence in math soared. I highly recommend her. Not for the light hearted though. You put the effort, she is your teacher.

Easy A if you can work through the material yourself. Exams do not use proctorio, nearly every HW, Quiz, Exam problem directly out of textbook. I took this class as online only. All of my learning was self taught through the textbook. Prof. would take days to get back to you, was rude, aggressive, and would make you calculate your grades with unclear instructions. The coursework and textbook was all through Pearson, which was amazing, but was the only highlight of the course.

Follows a script when teaching and has to change questions that match the exact script and can't do examples on the spot. She tries to answer students' questions but basically if its in her notes, but if they're even the slightest bit confusing, she shrugs their questions off and tells them to basically figure it out themselves.

I had written her a handful of emails about my assignments and I would usually receive one word answers back or she wouldn't answer my questions fully
Fully online course during COVID times. I wish I could have waited until fall when I could take her in person. She responded to my e-mails promptly. I ended up with a good grade. I heard she is now teaching in person. That would have been a lot better.

Statics is not an easy concept and unfortunately Professor White made it more difficult with her short lectures. She only does three (sometimes two) problems a day and the rest is on your own. Exams are heavy as well as the H.W. Take the class somewhere else.

Professor White's remarkable kindness sets her apart. I recall one day I found myself facing three exams in one day. With little hope, I approached her, asking if it would be possible to reschedule our math exam. To my amazement she agreed to accommodate my request, considering my dedication and performance in her class up to that point.
Her RMP score isn't indicative of the quality of her teaching now. While lectures were a bit tedious, she was able to teach the bare minimum and basics of the course. It was up to you to self-teach if you wanted a more sophisticated understanding of the concepts. She also plays favorites HEAVILY so watch out for that. A is possible if you work hard

Ebras-White is an unapologetically belligerent woman who should not be teaching. I advise you not to take her course as she makes students cry and has no filter. She has favorites in her class so if you aren't one of them be weary of her treatment. I asked her for assistance and she screamed at me in front of everyone to purposely humiliated me.

Terrible organization. The Canvas page is unstructured, her grading policies are scattered and she is disorganized. Two weeks before finals week she posted on Canvas that there would also be an online final on the same date as the in-person final. Many students already had prior commitments including other finals.
Awful experience- did not respond to a single email thoughtfully. Online stats takers, beware, there is a surprise second final not listed on the syllabus that she announced a week before finals! Canvas is unorganized and difficult to navigate. Does not respond thoughtfully to emails and getting in touch is quite a hassle.
The canvas page is very clear and unorganized. sHe also never responded to any emails. I wanted to take the class because it was online, would not recommend; going in person to a better teacher is worth it.

It was her last class before retirement, and she just read off answer keys, didn't really explain when to use formulas for certain world problems, just explained them for that specific question because she had the answer key for only those ones.
Her class was a nightmare. There were moments where I felt like she did not even know what she was doing and don't bother trying to get help you will just end up more lost. I feel like she does not bother making sure students understand the concepts, I had to spend hours relearning the material after class.

She is a very disorganized teacher always yelling at people for no reason. The material she goes over does not help with the course work as she uses McGrawhill so you have to teach yourself majority of the information in this class. She also gives many mandatory assignments that are not graded which does not make sense
Professor Erbas-White isn't all too bad of a professor. While I wouldn't say she is exceptional, she definitely is very proficient in the field of math and engineering. I ended up withdrawing from Calculus 2 because I fell behind, so I unfortunately cannot give a well developed review. Nonetheless, this professor isn't bad.
Honestly don't take her!! She will spend 20 minutes trying to come up with a problem only for it to work on the calculator
Words cannot express how bad this professor truly is, if you don't take it here. Take it Saddleback or Santiago or ANYWHERE ELSE. If you're wondering why, here's an example a student asked her to do a fresh problem from the 5-year-old notes she (still) teaches from, GAVE up in the middle of the problem. Class finished in 30 mins of 1hr+ class.
DO NOT TAKE WHITE. IVC has amazing professors, but White is not one of them. Lecture notes are outdated and illegible. Any question about her lecture notes will be met with an insult such as: "Whoever your physics teacher was did not do a good job, I can see that your geometry skills are lacking". Publically humiliates her students. Rude. Stubborn.
She will give you second third chances. Make sure you get involved in class

unprofessional and rude! picked on students that didn't speak very good english, often made snarky remarks, not good at technology (never uploaded hmw or test grades on pearson until final grade came out), math concepts not explained thoroughly, just a really bad teacher especially if math doesn't come naturally to you.
Rude and unprofessional. She reads straight from the books, notes are completely illegible and our grades were inaccurate and essentially had to pull teeth to make our grades accurate, then changed it back to the false ones. Kept old assignments from the previous semester that threw off grades and sewed confusion. She hated answering any questions.
Her midterm and final were worth 70% of your grade but she practically gave them out for free. She did her midterm on the board and let you collaborate with students on it (it was 10 simple basic Log problems and you couldve turned it in at home) She made her final online 5 questions, with infinite retakes (they were like 7th grade algebra level)
Took her for Spring '25 and got an F due to excruciating circumstances. I thought her class was easy since it was my second time taking statistics, but everyone else in my class thought her class was extremely confusing and hard. Pay attention, take notes, and listen to her lectures because her Canvas is lacking. Take her as a last resort, please.
