HARD HARD HARD...VERY VERY VERY UNCLEAR! You ask her a question in class and her is "yah" Makes class very boring.
very busy woman. a good instructor and a very nice person.

she was a very hard teacher but so caring! I loved her class and learned so much from her. she was always willing to help me and made me work to my fullest potential...i am so thankful to have had her because i learned so much and would recommend her to anyone!!
I really loved this class. She's helpful, understanding, and there isn't much work at all. The tests are easy if you look over her powerpoint and you can retake quizzes as much as you like. Take her if you can!!!
Knows her****. Hard, but you learn... you have no choice. If you want to actually know the stuff, take her.
Hard Hard Hard VERY unclear. I couldn't Understand a single word she said!!! Attendance is needed and lectures are very boring!!!
great teacher. simple as that.
Very very very hard to understand....

very hard class and even worse professor after taking this class i hate psychology
Material was unclear and unexplained. Think of this course as a self-taught.Slides are given that cannot be read because the print is too small to read.Grading is <subjective> since the majority of test questions are short or long essays. This class is taught as if you have had previous knowledge of the material.Study sessions are treated the same.
Really tough class but she gives extra time to help if you need it. If you think this class is horribly unclear maybe you should be a business major. haha
Embrassment of student in front of class pertaining to makeup work, unexcusable. Difficulty speaking English, and her commitments after class leaves here a bit unfocused for lectures. Keep good records when dealing with this prof, she will not only forget her agreements, she will ostercise you in front of class.

She knows when students aren't trying, and she will act appropriately. Stay on her good side by learning the material and proving it. Ilsun is driven, multi-dimensional, and inspiring.
She is hard to understand and has many catch phrases, "Are you kidding me." She talks fast and moves even faster. I would not advise taking her if you cannot devote time to learning the material on your own, because that is the only way you can really learn in this class.
Teaches out of here head instead of book.Extremely smart, but hard, very unhelpful. Mocks students, bullies, ridicules in class. Be prepared to teach self. Teaches way over students heads-expects you to know advanced brain/neuro material b4 entering class. Uses mainly essays-if she doesn't like you, it doesn't matter how correct your answers are.
I had Ms. White last semester and she has no business working with people. She is nice some days and one of the meanest people ever on other days. You never know what your gonna get from her. She was dishonest and talked bad about the people she worked with. I got a good grade but by the end of the class I had lost all respect for her as a person.
Dr. White is a really great professor. I had a hard time understanding her speech the first week then it was fine. She taught me alot and she made going to class fun. I always enjoyed going to her class. If you want to learn this is the class to take.
pretty good teacher...it's a little hard to understand what she is saying at times, but overall she makes the class a lot of fun and interesting...
She's fun!
Dr White is very knowledgeable in her field. She was a good professor and I enjoyed her class. She expected her you to put forth the effort, which offends some students. She was great to work with me on anything I did not understand. I loved the opportunity for extra credit! She is all business and there is nothing wrong with that. Good class.
She is extremely hard and very confusing..She likes to randomly go off on tangents and get off of subject, then never teach the material, but still expect you to know it. I know college is difficult, but she makes it so much worse than what it really is.
She is very hard to understand sometimes and she loses herself in tangents from time to time. I feel like she never actually taught anything, but still expected us to know the material. I never got more than a C on any test and studied my butt off.
She's rather hard to understand at times and attendance is required. She gives several in class assignments everyday. I find her to be both inspiring and very knowledgable in her field. She is an excellent teacher because she loves what she is doing. Also, she is entertaining in class because she gets so excited about what she is talking about.
she made a girl cry when she was giving a presentation.
First of all I did end up with an A in the class, mostly b/c I think she curved at the end. But as a teacher she could be cruel. If you're a psych major take her for your one required class and avoid her otherwise.
If nothing else, she's hilarious. Her class is easy as long as you attend lectures. Some complain about her accent, but I found her easy to understand.
Ok...she is by FAR the worst professor i've ever had.. she is no help at all, and when people would ask questions in class she would get annoyed and make them feel bad for asking it. She is unclear with assignments, expectations, and general material...she would tell us that we needed to turn in things that we were never assigned... She's crazy.
she is very hard to understand. nice person hard professor only reason i stayed awake in class was due to the fact i was so confused. she did curve my grade on the final like 2 letter grades. lol so if you go to class and try she will hook you up.
Really hard & really unreasonable. She can be nice, but also extremely rude. It is imperative that you attend every lecture and study very hard and pay attention to the specifics of topics because she will throw curve balls on the test. However, I found she typically grades a little leniently on her exams but you still NEED to study hard.
Hard class. She makes it easier by putting bonus questions on test. She has a heart. But she can spot a slacker a mile away and they get NO sympathy. Textbook a MUST!
Exams and quizzes were very easy and straight from the material that she provided.
Worst professor I've ever had. When i asked for help she was extremely rude and unhelpful.
Better have it together before becoming her student! She is extremely intelligent and this makes class amusing- but the exams...well you better know your stuff! Extremely difficult - the hardest professor at MSU by far- I have had several - she makes biology courses look like a joke- upside of it- you will leave her class educated- The truth! :)
Extremely rude, not helpful, and makes students feel like complete crap for asking any questions. She is very hard to understand and thinks that it is her world and you're just living in it! Never would I recommend this professor to anyone, Frankly, I don't know how she got a job at Morehead State University
I had Illsun for Brain and Behavior. She is helpful, kind, and can be quite amusing during lecture. Her greatest and worse quality would have to be she is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches, which can result in hard exams and sometimes not being able to dumb down the material a bit. Overall she is a wonderful instructor.
She doesn't take attendance but she will notice and remember every class you missed. She is tough to understand when it comes to assignments but her lectures are very interesting and she is quite funny. She will make you work for your grade and encourages class participation. She uses multiple teaching techniques which aloud me to learn a lot!
The lower level classes are not bad. She pities undergrads. But when you're forced by the department to suffer through PSY 421, she is ruthless, unnecessarily harsh, and rude. It doesn't help that the woman doesn't know how to teach anything other than improper usage of 90's lingo. Please complain to the university. Worst professor I've had.
Easily the most insane person i've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. She uses full on word salad. "I um, the brain, lines, sometimes, You know?" she speaks like that and is defensive when you don't understand. Constantly lies about assignments and does not finish her test unless you complain to the chair. Her presence insults psychology
She is without a doubt the hardest professor I've ever taken a class with. Very knowledgeable but has some difficulty with getting her point across.
I can't express how unpleasant this course was. I have never encountered a professor who so adequately bullies students while simultaneously ignoring their educational goals. It's certainly unfortunate that her obvious knowledge and talent is going to waste for a horrendous attitude. Pulled an A but literally sought therapy in the process.
She seems like a professor that students will either love her or hate her. I love her! She teaches a boring subject but she tries to make it as entertaining as possible and she really wants her students to succeed. As long as you go to class everyday and make the effort to study, she will help you if you need it.
I had the opportunity to do research with Dr. White, while it was the most interesting thing I have ever done it was very stressful. I respect Dr. White and her opinion, I got along well with her and would do research with her again in the future. Work hard and you'll be fine, she's really not that bad.
Dr. White is a rather intriguing woman. She seems to insist upon you having her female brain class if you're going to take her Physio class, I could see why since the material is practically the same. Sometimes she is hard to understand and her tests are worded awkwardly; however, she is entertaining. very intellectual, but is at times too critical
Avoid at all costs. Very bad experience.
Honestly she knows her stuff. Illsun is very knowledgeable, but at times she is hard to follow or understand. She moves very quickly, and you are expected to read the textbook to already have a little bit of background, or you will be completely lost during lectures. Attended every class, and study sessions and NEVER skip a friday class.
Ilsun definitely knows her stuff, but the class is hard. She's not very easy to understand and goes off on random tangents all the time. She gives pop quizzes frequently, especially on Friday's. Honestly, she is the reason why I changed my major from Neuroscience to Social Work. She made the subject unbearable.
I enjoyed her lectures for the most part, because she is extremely knowledgeable. However, sometimes her lectures could be a bit hard to follow. She always responded to my e-mails quickly. Sometimes when you ask questions in class she will respond rather harshly. Her tests are tough, and sometimes badly worded. You have to work hard to pass.
She can be rude if you ask questions, she doesn't listen long enough to answer. She interrupts and goes on a tangent, which happens often during normal lectures. She gets mad if you look at the clock. She can make you look like an idiot during presentations, especially if you're nervous. Articles and quizzes are unhelpful for the 2 exams.
The course would be much more beneficial if another instructor taught it. If you have any questions, you would be better off asking a different professor.
The concepts in the class were interesting, but the instructor was rude and under prepared. She was extremely unorganized and regularly provided little or no feedback on course assessments. Exams were based on lecture material which was haphazardly presented. She seems to be a very sloppy instructor who puts very little time into the course.
This class is difficult, not just because the material, but largely because she tries to make things harder with her poor lecture style and horrible attitude. She throws tantrums like a child. She threw pencils at a student, and even cuts off and disrespects other university's professors at presentations. She did that twice this semester.
Gets to bully students as much as she likes, which is often. Sadly, she has tenure and is protected by the university. The head of the department admitted he's trying to protect her because so many people don't like her. She abuses this power.
Avoid, will actively belittle students in class, does not permit any type of recording device in class to avoid being caught at unfitting behavior for a professor, adds things to quizzes not covered in tests. If you must take her don't ask questions, keep eyes on her at all time or else.
Professor White is a strict professor. If you skip class, then prepare to have consequences. She knows when people skip her class, even though she doesn't take attendance. Beware of pop quizzes, complex exams, restricted access to the clock if she lets you see it at all, and absolutely no electronic device usage.
It's really hard to understand her, but if you just listen to the lectures and take notes, you'll do well on the pop quizzes. NEVER skip a friday class. I would study all week before her tests, so I did fine, but you have to actually learn it instead of memorizing it. I only used the book for studying.
Dr. White is a character! She's funny even when she doesn't mean to be! For a gen. ed. class, I would definitely recommend taking the course. She's all about attendance and quizzes. Easy class if you attend and fail if yo don't go.
Dr. White is by far the most ambitious and determined intellectual I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She is my advisor (as well as professor) and while many people tend to dislike her, I have nothing but respect for her. She cares so much about the well-being of her students. She is tough, but only if you're a slacker & skip class.
She expects you to come to class , even though attendance is not taken everyday she knows if you miss a class. She gives you her slides print them out. She wants you to ask questions and participate in class. I really enjoyed her class. Her test are tough but she does a lot of in class work so you can make up for a bad test
I really hope they eventually get someone else who also teaches this course because being forced to take Ilsun should be illegal. Don't miss a class or she'll hold it against you and her test??? Impossible. I don't think I ever scored above a C and I was a 4.0 student before her.
Worst professor on Morehead's campus.
She is so hilarious and fun to learn from. The content can be difficult but she tries to answer any questions and be as accessible as possible. As long as you review the study guides/slides, youre passing. Love her!
With an Engineering BS and MBA, I don't mind hard classes, but this prof is absurd! She said the book wasn't needed. I wouldn't have passed without it. There were no lectures/videos for her online course. She used different terms on tests compared to slides. Many test questions weren't on her slides. Some weren't even in the book. Ridiculous!
Avoid her at all costs. Her exams are the hardest exams I have ever taken in my education career. She belittles students in front of everyone. If she says something is not on the test, study it because it will be half of the exam. I will forever be avoiding taking anymore classes with her because she is that bad.
She is one of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered. I’ve watched her belittle other classmates numerous times. She has horrible communication skills and unfortunately for neuro majors she is the only advisor at Morehead State. If she does not like you, she will not be helping you get into grad school.
She will post lecture slides at 3AM and expect you to be awake at 7AM-9:30AM to have discussion on it. She will post an assignment at 3AM and specifically say *all questions must be asked before 9:30AM*. Neuro genius but can't understand the questions students ask or properly work blackboard. is also incredibly rude.
Dr. I White is the worst professor I have ever had. She males the content harder to understand because she goes off on tangents. Then proceeds, to expect students to read her mind (especially when it comes to the quizzes and exams). She has an unethical view of schooling. Expecting her students to prioritize her class over everything else.
I do not recommend ilsun white for anyone. I have managed to avoid her up until this last semester and I can say that, she lacks in the teaching department. Her exams are worded confusingly, yells and belittles her students, and overall has an unethical standpoint toward students priorities. This is a horrifying professor. Run.
Dr. White is a tough professor. But by the end of the class you know the material forwards and backwards. People say she gets off on tangents in class, but she does that to give students a break from the lecture. She's actually really funny and is always willing to help. She just expects a lot from students because she cares about what she teaches.
Quizzes and tests are timed, given no feedback, and you cannot go back to any question you've answered during them. Does not "do email" and is not afraid to embarrass or berate students in front of the class. No clear grading system and says a poor grade is due to not paying attention enough. No longer online after Spring 2023 - either way, run.
I.White is funny and cares about her students' grades and futures. Obsesses over grades to ensure everyone is succeeding. Content isn't EASY, but w/ a lot of studying, you can succeed. Gives out bonus for being in class,if you don't show up, you WON'T understand the material. Everything is provided on slides, for better understanding, read the book
Dr. White has a great personality, but it doesn't translate well into her lectures. It's a good thing she offers in-class activities and quizzes, because her exams are extremely hard. She tells you what to study for and what not to, but at the end of the day you'll get asked about every single thing which can be overwhelming.
Her tests are hard however if you attend class she's one of the few teachers that actually explains whats on the powerpoint, in a way that you will remember. She gives plenty of extra credit during classes, over material that was covered. Wouldn't recommend to people who don't like putting effort to show up and study. Overall she's my favorite.
She's very hard to understand. She has an accent, as she is not white (I promise I am not racist, it's just the truth). You have to have an excuse for every missed class (school-related excuses as well...), and she does not really care for her students. I am in high school and took her class as a dual credit, and it wasn't enjoyable. Thumbs down.
Professor White is a very smart woman, and she knows what she's talking about. However, she is extremely rude and belittles her students if they ask a question about the lecture that she thinks is "common sense." While emailing her, she answers extremely quickly but her responses are the equivalent of her in-person ones, rude.
I think she is truly a very intelligent, passionate, and caring person, however she has no business teaching this course for psychology students in my opinion. Her redeeming quality is how much she cares (even if she doesn't seem like she does). Be prepared to take some of the hardest exams you've ever taken.
Dr. White is very passionate about teaching and it shows. She is kind and cares about her students. However, she is sure that all the students in her class are taking the material seriously and that they are understanding it, this can come off as mean.
Crazy hard class, never felt like her lectures gave me a clear understanding of it so I pretty much had to do self-study on everything (which is very hard for neurology). Really hated the in-class assignments. Tests are graded very hard and insanely dense with almost no multiple choice (pretty much need exact answers/spelling for every question).
I took two classes with her and I would never take a class with her again.
ATTENDANCE IS ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY!!!!! She gives many lectures and provides notes. She is super hard on attendance, like I can not put into words how important attendance is to her. She gives in-class work almost every class but gives you a hundred for just doing it. If you are absent, you get a zero. Please if you take this class show up!!!
There are only 2 exams in the class - Midterm and Final. They are pretty difficult, but that doesn't mean you can't pass them. I didn't use the book that much. She is an incredible teacher and is passionate about what she does. My tips are to come to class, look engaged, don't get on any devices, and sit in the front row. Good luck!!
She's an intelligent woman, however she's extremely mean. She's not very understanding if you miss class (for any circumstance) her lectures are confusing, and she gives very little time to answer questions on in-class assignments. Just know if she's rude to you, it's just her. Not you. Stay away.
please, save yourself.
You have to show up everyday if you miss one class you got to hope you do well on every single assignment. There are 2 exams both 50 points with the class being out of 200 that are extremely difficult.
I honestly don't understant the hate Dr. Ilsun recieves. Her exams include the materials on the slideshow what is mentioned in class. Honestly if your just respectful of her and your classmates there will be no problems.
I had her for psy121 and while she's very strict, I learned a lot in her class. As long as you pay attention, don't go on your phone, and aren't coming in late, you will do just fine. However, if you're one to skip classes often, don't take her courses, as she does class activities every class. She's very funny too, so overall, i'd take her again
Ms White is a very intelligent professor who clearly knows what she is teaching but can sometimes be a little hard to understand. I don't find her to be rude, just strict and generally wants her students to do well. Attendance is important as she does assignments for participation every class. Content is heavy but isn't awful to study.
She's overall okay. She can be rude at times but I do think she's a good person who wants her students to do well. If you're someone who misses class a lot DO NOT TAKE HER! Attend every single class she has. There's in class work every class that goes towards your grade. Also just remember, if she says something it's never that deep. Move on.
She is a good professor; she can be sarcastic sometimes, but it's nothing too crazy. She gives you the answers to the in-class work majority of the time. She doesn't want anyone to fail, and she looks at you like her child. Definitely go to class; the in-class work counts as attendance. If you don't miss a class, she will take into consideration.
