Alright teacher. Test Extremely easy if you study the practice test in the book. They are short 25-30 questions muti & T/F. No heavy reading. Gives study guides. 5 quiz an 2 lab exams.Lab exams are harder. Good response time.
She is a wonderful teachers. If you have any problems, shes likes to help. It is an easy class, if you want to get a A/B take her! She gives alot of extra credit oppurtunities, and probably a couple of homework assignments. Labs aren't too bad, and tests are easy. She posts the test questions online midway through the semester. I'd take her again(:
I was mis lead by the commits posted. She knows her materials but has little control over the class. She also very soft spoken and has an ancient that makes it hard to understand her sometimes. The work load is not too bad. Few MC test, some extra credit. You will be using your book. If you take good notes you'll be ok.
Extremely disappointed by this professor. Even with what little extra credit offered, I will be lucky to earn a C. Never used the book. Hard to understand due to Indian accent.
Was very understanding when a few students didn't see the last five questions on the first test-let students answer them "believes in second chances". She does have an accent but as long as your paying attention its not too much of a problem. Covers all of materials through slide shows and tests on that material-allowed one 5X3 index card for tests
Terrible Professor, She cannot teach. She reads power points and that is it. Labs are useless and don't count for enough points whatsoever. You don't use the textbook yet she says the answers to the test are in the power points when there not. My bet is that she got fired from her other job because she acts like she is a scientist.
Very understanding professor, however I do not recommend taking her. She reads powerpoints all class period and the text book was RARELY used.
The textbook was never used at all, except for one in class extra credit opportunity. over half the class was failing the course so she ended up giving an 80 point extra credit, that is the only way I pulled off an A. All she does is read off the powerpoints and attendance is not mandatory.
This proffessor is very inspirational. Like many students I dred anything relating to science, but this proffessor made biology relateable. Her test are a piece of cake because she will give you a practice guide before the actual test. This class is very beneficial!
Its Biology! It can be tough! but if you ask questions she will be happy to answer them.Anything I was unsure of was cleared up immediately by her.She said the first class that if anyone misunderstood something to Just Ask and she repeats!Tests are easy if you study and an easy A if you bring your 3x5 notecard.I enjoyed this class and learned a ton!
Extremilly goooooooooood
Professor Sindhuvalli is an awesome professor. The class is engaging and interesting, and I actually looked forward to attending her lectures. She allows a 3x5 notecard for each test, and drops your lowest test score. She is very interested in your education and gives you the tools needed to succeed. I highly recommend Professor Sindhuvalli!
I just completed her class and it was the best. I learned a lot and I finally had a professor who cared!!! I recommend this lady to every student!!!!cool cool lady very cool!!!
They don't make professors like Sinduvahali anymore..she cares and hopes all her students achieve an A...Attendance and respect, along with some studying will earn you an easy A.
Sindhuvalli is a wonderful professor with an overt passion for the sciences. She employs the use of clear and concise lecture slides with the accompaniment of class discussions to build a fluid comprehension of the topic at hand. Before every test, she goes down the bullet points of the past lectures so the students are refreshed on the material.
If you want a teacher who cares about you as a student then I suggest you choose Professor Sindhuvali. If you are interested in biology than this is the person you want to teach you. No question is stupid, unless she just answered it and you ask again, and she will go out of her way to help someone who at least tries in her class.
this professor made the class interesting and a pleasure to learn in. she has a way of getting the message across that induces memory retention. she has a wonderful smile and a personality to match.
All I can say is- take her...nice lady and smiles all the time..her class the best!!!!
Just finished her biology course and let me tell you I am a different person now. I learned so much about myself and genetics.I recommend taking her lab along with the course. Very professional teacher and she makes you wanna learn.
Dr. Sindhuvalli is extremely passionate about teaching. She goes to great lengths to give every opportunity for students to succeed in her class. If students actually try, they can come away with a high passing grade. No student should have any complaints about Dr. Sindhuvalli. Students are not given a grade in any class. They have to earn it.
This class was awesome. Teacher was always available and ready to answer any questions.I would recommend her.
Very good class, liked it overall.
Easy class overall.
Good teacher, knows her stuff and she makes you wanna learn. Her class is straight forward go to class and you should have an A in BIOLOGY!
This class is very hard to get a B in, and imposible to ace. She is a very nice and helpful teacher but i spent as much time on this class as all my other courses combined. Dont take her course unless you wish to be a bio major. She puts material on the tests youve never seen before.
shes a nice lady but horrible class structure. every time you come in she has changed something because her other classes are confused. when you have tests like the one im preparing for now you will realize that you never even went over chapter 12 or she said 2 things and moved on, but now you have it on the test. she sees it as we studied it
If you don't know something automatically, she has a very condescending attitude about it, which made me intimidated to approach her if I didn't understand something. I'm watching Biology Youtube Videos so I won't fail a lab exama, and I'm learning more now then I did an entire semester. I am an A/B student. I feel like I will barely get a C.
Easy class. During lecture she shows video clips and reads off a powerpoint. All of her test questions come from the online homework.
Horrible Teacher. I loved biology till I took her class. She expects you to know everything! Lecture Test are super hard since she doesn't go over the material properly. She literally reads her PowerPoints out loud and word for word. If you miss class you cannot make up the assignments. I missed 1 class because I had surgery and still was not aloud
Awesome teacher. Gives tons of extra credit!! Would take her again!!! Easy A, if you do the Practice Quiz.
Awesome teacher! You will get an A if you do the Practice Quiz and go though her PP. Book is not necessary...TAKE HER!!
Book not necessary. do her practice quizzes and mastering and you'll ace the class.
This class is probably not as hard with any other teacher but with her she makes everything difficult. When you get confused, if you ask a question she will be condescending and give a smart remark. Also, her material in class she goes over does not correlate with what is in mastering biology. Do not take her for this class!!!
Very helpful and positive!! This is my first time taking a Chemistry class and I was a little intimidated going into it; but Dr. Sindhuvalli eased my concerns with her smile and her awesome reviews. She incorporates specific lesson planning to fit the needs of her class and their learning styles. I'm very happy I ended up in this class!
Professor Sindhuvalli is a smart lady but does not know how to teach. She is very disorganized, does things backwards and reads straight from the power point without going in depth of the terms meanings.Tests are random and nothing like what she has you study. Also she cares more about the texters than trying to get through a lesson. DON'T take her
I took an online course with her and hated it, you only get an hour for 50 questions on the tests and there is very little that is in the homework and quizzes that are on the test... the quizzes are pretty easy though even though you only get 15 minutes for them.
professor sinduhvalli is wonderful . She is very helpful and her lectures are fun and interacting. She keeps everyone engaged. the homework and work is very easy and she helps in any way she can. I well take her again for the other classes .She gives a lot of clear instructions.
r. S is super nice and helpful, if you have any questions just ask! Do the HW! She uses the test questions straight from the HW online, almost word for word! Everyone in the class would just used flashcards of online HW questions and study them for the tests, really helped! Dr. S knows her stuff and is more than willing to help. Gives EC opps too!
Mrs. Sindhuvalli is an extremely helpful professor. You dictate how hard the class is. As long as you go to class and do the homework and quizzes online, you will be fine. Most of the test questions come from the online homework and quizzes. Mrs. S was great!
DO NOT TAKE HER ONLINE CLASS. She never answers emails, tests are hard and timed, and she is very unorganized.
Highly recommend this instructor. Available for questions & quick responses to emails. Genuine student concern. Invites active class participation. Lectures and power points taken from the text. Exams from power pts and Mastering Prac Quizzes. Devotes extra time for students in need both in lab and class. Very approachable and personable.
Professor Sinduhuvalli is a very sweet woman with good intentions and very intelligent, only she's very unorganized. During her lectures or power points she'd jump from subject to subject making it almost impossible to learn anything. She get's distracted easily by texters ,sleeping students,or late arrivals. Her curriculum doesn't correlate at all
Her curriculum doesn't correlate well with the test. At the end of the semester we had 4 test within a 2 week period. It was as if she believed we had no other classes. I like this woman as a person but as for a teacher, she's awful. Therefore, if you're not a genius or premed student DO NOT TAKE HER!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!! PLEASE!
Had her for my first semester in college after 2 years off of school. Labs were explained very well. Most of the questions on exams come from Mastering, with some more complicated things in there, but if you have an hour to study after class, not hard to pass. Consistent 70's on all tests but got a B. Easy HW. Everything in class posted on BB.
Professor Sindhuvalli is a great biology teacher to take. Very easy class if you pay attention. Would definitely recommend. This was the first biology class I had ever taken and I got an A.
Great Professor. Just study the power points thoroughly and do the homework. Do not procrastinate. Easy A.
Honestly, labs were easy but She was not helpful. She always told us to refer to blackboard when we had a question. The tests are very different from our lectures also, confusing. She was very sweet but not helpful. She moved too fast and wouldn't go over anything. Not a teacher I would recommend for Anyone. It was hard.
Very rude professor. Not helpful at all. Don't take this class if you need to actually learn the material. Put in at least 20-30hrs a week just memorizing.
Dr. S was awesome, if you study hard enough you can walk away with an A, but I kinda slacked and got a B. She was always more than willing to help me, in person or email. She knows her stuff, the course load honestly isnt that much. I would take her again if I could! She might seem intimidating but shes actually really nice! Dont text in her class!
She was very helpful if you GO TO her office with questions. You will not learn everything in class, but study the powerpoint and DO the MASTERING. Tests cover about 75% from mastering. and extras are from other sources. I received B but I was close to an A.
I've taken Mrs. S for Chemistry and Biology + Lab. This class is easy if you just do the online homework and quizzes. Anyone who thinks this professor is hard is a joke. She genuinely cares about her students success. All exam questions are covered in the chapter quizzes, so be sure to pay attention when taking the quizzes and you'll pass the exam.
Honestly, the tests are what will get you. All homework is online, and is always an easy 100. But her lectures do not even start to prepare you for the tests, which make up for most of your grade. If you want a good grade on the test, you have to get a tutor (unless you already know biology.) I would not take this class again.
Took her because of her ratings. She has a thick accent and likes breeze through lecture. Gives you high school quality worksheets and considers that helpful. Takes most of test material from the online homework. If you want to learn, don't take her. If you're cool with doing everything yourself, even teaching yourself, go for it. She's very lazy.
As long as you do ALL of the online homework, you will do fine in this class. There are 4 Tests and they are all 50 questions, multiple choice. She also gives extra credit for every test. This class was very easy. I would take her again.
I do not recommend taking this professor! Very rude professor. Not helpful at all. Don't take this class if you want or need to actually learn the material.
I chose Prof. S based on recommendation from a friend. I am glad I did take her class!. I was nervous about biology but she taught well and was always available to help with a smile. She made me comfortable with the subject. Her lectures were good and interesting. I would highly recommend her.
I took the hybrid course over the summer and found it to be very easy. She responds to emails faster than most of my other professors and explains things in ways that are easy to understand. You do not need to turn in your labs, if you show up and do the lab you receive full points. The majority of her test are online as well.
I am better at Biology today for having taken this class in Summer. Dr. Sindhuvalli is very knowledgeable about the subject matter. More importantly for me she was very helpful and was there to give good feedback anytime I approached her. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking to get deeper into Biology.
My intro to Biology was this class. Dr. S helped me along the way. She took time to clarify things to me when I did have questions outside the classroom and met her at her office on many occassions. I worked hard and she helped me succeed. I will sign up for her majors bio class next semester.
Rude. I emailed her telling her I couldn't make it to class because of something really important and asked if I could have the make-up work the following class, she agreed and I was like awesome! Then I went to get it and she said oh, you can do it but you won't get credit for it. Really, then why did I even want the work to begin with?!
This professor is interesting. Read the book and DO THE MASTERING! She does powerpoints but they do not help very much with the test so you need to read on your own. Many of the test questions are Mastering quiz questions so do them and remember the answers. She can be a little harsh if you have questions during class. Labs are easy too.
This is my second course with Dr. S. She is very helpful and cares for students. I like her lectures and how she encourages student engagement in the class. I have been to her office for help several times and have received needed support in a timely manner. She has inspired me to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. Thanks Dr. S!
Just come to class, do your work and participate And your good , it's an easy A !
Took hybrid class, only met for labs and tests. EXTREMELY difficult class. Was often tested on material not yet covered. Slow grader. Time consuming and all over the place. She was nice as a person, but there are unfair and disadvantageous kinks in the course setup. I DO NOT recommend this class. Several hardworking classmates' 4.0s were ruined.
She is very helpful, courteous and student friendly. Willing to help and respond to emails.
Takes time to explain concepts, and is always approachable.
Topics are not easy, yet she explains them pretty well.
She responds to emails promptly. Full course was made available at the start and I worked ahead. She sends weekly reminders, that was helpful. Interesting discussion board. Overall had a good experience. I plan to take her for hybrid bsc2010.
she is good. Gave timely help for any questions on assignments. good with email responses.
She is an amazing proffessor I would definitely recommend her ,she is helpful and gives extra credit and she always want u to pass !
Easy course! Enjoyed the professor, she cares about her work and her students. Very quick to respond. Make sure you take advantage of what she offers-working ahead, practice quizzes and extra credit! Excellent tools to help you succeed. Slower at grading, but it really wasn't a big deal as it was just the discussion boards.
She is extremely personable. Replies to emails regularly and she is willing to explain repeatedly. Sadly she does not post your grade so you have to do the calculating yourself. Very lecture and note heavy. Tests are every other week and long. She has a great personality but I wouldn't ant to take this class again.
Highly recommend her it's really a good person and she is always try to help us take her she is the best
She is wonderful take her
She is amazing take her
I enjoyed taking Professor Sinduvalli's class but only because I love biology. Classes consisted of PowerPoints and labs. The tests were based off of notes on Bb, but they also had questions on there that were left for critical thinking & were difficult if you didn't have a firm grasp on the topic.
I took this class as a hybrid and Dr. S was totally not what I read on rate my professor. 6 tests and she drops your lowest test grade, which is okay. she does not have a clear grading criteria. She doesn't lecture at all in class, you come to class for the labs and you get credit for it. The tests were extremely difficult. Would not recommend.
DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE HER! I could write an entire novel on why NOT to take her! She doesn't teach anything at all! You do labs that has nothing to do with the test. The tests are impossible to pass. She tells u not to read the book just study the notes for the test but the entire test is from the book. She's also very rude!!
Does not lecture at all in class. You must read all book/note materials, which is very broad. Tests (5) make up your ENTIRE grade, besides 100 pts that go towards labs in class & participation. Labs are pointless, they do not relate to tests at all. Does not go over study guides or give general ideas to tests. Very nice nasty. Rude. DO NOT TAKE!
CONDESCENDING. NO STRUCTURE TO HER CLASS. TESTS MAKE UP YOUR GRADE. NO HOMEWORK. NO QUIZZES. NO LECTURES IN CLASS. POINTLESS LABS. I DONT RECOMMEND
Most unorganized professor i have ever had. Makes study guides for test but does not lecture. Labs don't help with the test and are a waste of time. I honestly didn't learn anything at all. Doesn't grade things or "loses" your papers. DONT take her!
She is so helpful and she always open for any help in her office I love her and if u study u pass for sure take her
Took her for BSC2010C. Never gave a lecture and used whole class for lab. Book is online, but she posts unit notes for you to study and then tests you on items not covered in the notes. Would never take her again
worst teacher ever. be prepared to fail. if you like pop tests then take her. she is no help at all.
The worst instructor at fscj. she doesn't teach and she is very rude. please please do not take her. you will fail this class.
Dr. S took time to help me get caught up. Spent time outside class tutoring me. Knows her stuff. Good prof, take her.
I had her for 1005 before and then took her for 2010. In both courses, Dr. S helped me a lot whenever I had doubts. Took time to help outside of office hours too. I like her a lot.
She is very nice and respectful teacher. She takes the time to listen to you if you are not clear about assignment or exam. She handle you all the materials you need to succeed in the course and all you have to do is study.
She takes her time and very patient with all the students. She wants you to succeed in every way & just learn the material from what she provides in class, you'll pass this class!
she picks and chooses who to like and be fair to
We did a lot of partner work due to this being a lab incorporated class. She was very sweet to be but treated my partners like trash even when they didn't give her a reason to which honestly made me respect her less. Class work is moderate. Study everything or it will be hard to pass unless your super good and already enjoy science
Professor enjoys her subject but her accent makes it very difficult to understand sometimes. The class was HYBRID, met once a week! There is ALOT to remember for 50 questions tests- studying is a must. NO phones or she will pick on you to answer tough questions infant of class. 4 easy discussions, 1 short book review and 2 extra credit work sheets
She is very good in her subject and cares for the students success. I had difficulty with the subject but she helped me a lot. I did get better as the semester progressed. Thanks to her extra help.
Glad I listened to my friend's advice and took this class. Dr. Sindhuvalli is so passionate about her subject and super nice. I got lot of extra help whenever i needed. Take her, she is good.
She is good. Gave lot of extra help. Very accessible after class and helpful. Good teacher and nice person.
This class is absolutely AWFUL. You will do labs weekly that have absolutely nothing to do with the material that you are tested on. The midterm and final account for nearly 80% of your grade with little other assignments to help your grade. Thick accent makes it difficult to understand her, you will be teaching Biology to yourself. Horrible class.
This class was 3 hours long, but she lets out early most times. Class work and labs are really easy, but you have to do the work. She does not allow any phones or drinks/food in class. Tests are easy if you study the practice tests that she gives. No reason you shouldn't earn an A if you attend class and do the work.
Does not teach her class. Lets the class out early every class. She was absent more often than the students in the class by comparison. She presents questions on the the test that she has not gone over in the classroom and because of her lack of presence and lecture time in the class room. She is not attentive to the needs of the students.
I attended every class and did every homework/in class assignment but in the end it did not matter because the majority of your grade is based on how you do on 2 tests. Also, she doesn't make it clear but the majority of what is on the tests is in the notes she puts on blackboard. The in class review and the lecture notes were basically useless.
most interesting class i have ever taken!!!! all about plants and animals ! if you like science at all take this code or her b botany course!
BEST CLASS EVER!!!!!!! TESTS ARE SOOOOO EASY ITS LIKE 3RD GRADE SCIENCE
Professor Sindhuvalli offered patience and understanding when I failed to meet assignment deadlines. She was proactive as we discussed how to overcome the deficiency. I ended the class with a very high grade. She took the time to help me through the problem even though she didn't have too. Great teacher!
This professor was great. She was always there to help me out and see what I needed in order to help me pass the class. No matter what the situation was, she always cared for my own benefit. I would defiantly take her again.
really great prof. If you need any outside help she is really willing to be there for you and do anything that she can. Tests are most of the grade yet there are only two so watch out for that. but over all great time.
Dr. Sindhuvalli is one of my best teachers I've had. Her classes were always on interesting and current topics and presented ideas very clearly that would otherwise seem very foreign. She is also very respectful and gives a lot of attention to every student. She covers a lot of material but easy to follow along.
Shes the best! I would love to take her class again! She made bio so easy! I love the way she teach! Going to her class with no stress at all! She dont give stress to her students. Thats why I always feel happy in her class! jyp
She is a good teacher
I liked this class, I do not have much of an interest in biology but it was very interesting.
Attendance is mandatory only meets once a week which is the perfect amount of time for her to convey the points you must learn and study. As long as you show up and pay attention you'll be fine! Was not a fan of her PPT slide lecture style but it didn't hinder me either.
mostly powerpoint lectures, very little homework, 2 exams, study and you will pass super nice lady!
Only 2 Test, Homework Is Just A Few Discussion Question And Show Up To Class And You'll Pass The Class
Very good prof. two tests and couple of discussions. If you study you will pass
Professor Sindhuvalli is great professor. She explains material well, and gives you a chance to bring your grade up with extra credit. Overall i would recommend upcoming students to take her.
Very clear grading criteria. She cares about the topic and her students.
Very caring about the topic and students.
Professor Sindhuvalli was very kind and gracious towards me when I was going through a rough time. So grateful, and would definitely recommend her.
I took this class online and it was unbelievably easy. The only coursework is through the Pearson website and there weren't even any proctored tests. I wouldn't recommend taking this course if you're actually trying to retain information related to biology - but if you're just looking for an easy A, go for it!
This professor is really nice. I mean there is still work you have to do in her class, but she explains it thoroughly, gives you access to the power point lectures online and help you to prepare for the test. No essays!
BOT1010C Professor was caring, knowledgeable and passionate about Botany. There were two test, which she gives study guide for the first test. Very few assignments but you must have them before class starts. Mostly lecturing by Power Point and she makes it available on line. Take notes in class because she lets you know what will be on the test.
I took her online & regret it. It felt like she pressed a button to start the class and then didnt look at it again for the rest of the semester. She posted all of 3 announcements. The exams had almost nothing to do with course work and she never told us what ch. the exams would even cover. That said, shes quick to respond to emails and seemed nice
Great teacher, I took her online class and worked at a comfortable pace that fit my workout, personal life and other school schedule. Take this teacher, it's an easy "A" as long as you put your best foot forth!!!!
I did not enjoy this class she would tell us we could turn things in online and when we did she would give us a zero. When i tried to ask her about it she said she didnt want it online after she said " You can turn it in to me or online to my email".
If you want an easy A then this is the class for you. There is no assignment guideline with due dates. Each week is a surprise and you have no clue what you are doing until she puts up an announcement.
Dr. Sindhuvalli was very nice but not professional. It took her FOREVER to respond to emails if she even did! And she would say that she was going to get information to me that I needed and never did. I had to email her multiple times for each question or issue I had. Incredibly easy class and didn't learn a thing.
loved her class, i took her for biology and she made the class interesting and enaging. i always felt safe to express my oppionin on subjects and participate in class. she valued every student and their thoughts on the topics. she used tecnology and out "textbook" was online. i took the hybrid class and it was enjoyable. i 100% recommend her!!
Professor Sindhuvalli was a great professor, due to many circumstances we were faced with during our semester (as a class) she didn't want to put any stress on us so we had no tests in her class, just homework and readings that were done online. She is a great professor and is really big on participation.
Professor Sindhuvalli shared her knowledge and I enjoyed what she had to teach. She truly cares about each and every student. She has a fun personality and lives feed back from students.
As someone who has never been good at science related material or courses, Professor Indrani Sindhuvalli has not only gone above and beyond to make this course easy to understand but has shared a passion that creates an enjoyable environment to learn difficult material.
A great teacher who made the class fun by telling stories and showing videos. Not hard as long as you don't forget to submit assignments.
She was just as confused as the students with the new online textbook. It was a crazy easy class that a 5-year-old could pass. If you want an easy A sure take the class but you won't learn anything and are just wasting your time.
She's a great teacher and everything is online there is also no test.
i loved her come to class listen and you will pass
she does not accept late work unless you are on your death bed.
Dr. Sindhuvalli is a great professor in terms of work she hands out. Her class was easy but a little hard to navigate at times. As long as you show up and do the work this class will be no problem. When it comes to makeup work she will not accept it, so be sure to turn everything in on time.
Always made the class enjoyable and she wants students to become successful
I took this class as a hybrid, with labs on campus. The professor did also do some lecturing. She's very clear, and I'd take another class with her. We had two exams, a research paper (about 1000 words), an assignment that involved growing a plant, and occasional homework. Work load was relatively light, with several opportunities for extra credit.
She is very helpful when someone is struggling in the class or during the labs.
Kind and caring teacher!
Show up to class, do your work, study and you should get a good grade.
Very easy class
Passionate about the subject matter.
The professor was very caring. If you needed help , she would make sure you would understand the topic.
very easy class. straightforward teaching.
She is amazing and helpful, easy class.
An absolutely great class! Professor Indrani Sindhuvalli is very passionate about this subject, she really knows her stuff and very caring!
Very nice lady, very passionate about what she teaches.
She is such a great teacher who loves her job and what she does! Definitely take her, do you work, come to class definitely can pass with an A
Professor Sindhuvalli is AMAZING!! Her passion for her field is obvious and she encourages students to express their ideas and opinions on what is taught in class. I highly recommend this professor if you are looking for someone genuine, upbeat, and helpful to the 1,000,000 degree. She is winner winner chicken dinner!
Fun, easy class if you like plants and want to learn something.
Good teacher.
Great professor. Gets back to you quickly. The course is divided into units, usually lasting 2 weeks that you do on your own time. One big test in the beginning of the semester. (*Not good for bio majors, too easy*)
She is a great instructor who clearly knows the subject. She utilizes this knowledge and formulates it in a way that allows you to connect it to real world applications and examples. Gives you direct access to whats on the test and if you study it you will pass.
Nice lady. Teaching style awful. ALL of the work was by McGraw hill connect extra 90 dollars on top of tuition. never graded or looked at work. does not respond to emails. did the math and it came out to 8,546 qs over the 12 weeks which is ridiculous. if planning for 4 courses next semester, your time would be gone. so unhappy :( BEWARE!!
Does not respond to emails! This class is on connect, and the only thing she grades herself is the end of term research paper... it requires MANY sources you MUST cite, but then she took points off because I "plagiarized" by citing sources. Very unreasonable teacher, very condescending when you reach out about ANYTHING.
Professor Sindhuvalli. I think the only thing she made hard on us was spelling out her last name. Other than that she made this online class feel much more at ease than Biology can actually be. I have not taken Biology in a while and the textbook itself involves a lot of reading. But Mrs. Sindhuvalli did a wonderful job and is quite inspirational!
I took this class online during 7 weeks. Lots of reading, but it was ok. Each time I had a question about something, emailed Dr. Sindhuvalli, I always received a response. Although, I didn't meet her in person, I could tell from her email responses that she is kind, caring, and enjoys what she does. Take her, you won't regret it.
Very supportive and helpful.
I enjoyed this professor so much! She was very understanding when you missed class and followed up, wanted to know if you were ok. Her teaching style was straight forward but she also was very hands on. She was interested in things relating to the course and wanted to bring it outside of the classroom into everyday life. Loved every minute.
If you want to be taught by AI, this is your prof. She uses textbooks software, which you have to pay extra money for to complete the course. Absolute waste of a so-called teacher. I emailed her a dozen times to clarify concepts, and she just told me to reference the textbook. If I wanted to teach myself, I could have save alot of money.
Hybrid? Expect these: Mainly graded on Connect assignments, in-person labs cannot be made up (no 2nd chances but not too big of an effect on grade), fun to grow your own plant as a home project. As per teaching skills, in-person class somewhat lacks clear structure, no outlines or ordered points. Loves answering questions, and explains well!
I took hybrid botany, participation and attendance will benefit you in the long run. The class is heavily structured online, no book just the online version so the sooner you pay for mcgraw hill access the easier the class will be for you once you start digging into the chapters, the grading is straight forward. Highly recommend.
Amazing professor, she is very patient and understanding. I learned a lot from this professor.
She literally was non-existent online, but she was open source so it was very easy to pass. If you're just trying to make the grade I recommend, if you're trying to actually learn do not take this course, at least online.
Professor Sindhuvalli class is broken down in two parts. A lab and a lecture. You meet and have lab one day and the other day you have an online meeting to go over any questions about material. She is very understanding of the personal circumstances that students may be going through and makes it a point to try to help in any way she can.
Professor Sindhuvali was great. My only issues were that she had to cancel lectures 4 times due to covid issues (not really her fault) and there is a ton of homework. She uses McGraw Hill Connect for assignments. The assignments weren't too difficult but there was a lot of them. I enjoyed lecture nights, she has a passion for what she teaches.
Professor sindhuvalli is a great professor. She is very caring and will help you through any problems in the class. She has a lot of experience and will always respond to emails. If your looking for a biology 2 professor i highly recommend her.
Professor Sindhuvalli is a great professor. She appreciates engagement and explains questions very well if you're confused on anything. The course itself is easy as long as you keep up with your work. I plan on taking her again in the spring for BIO 2 :D
She is a very understanding professor and the class was very easy. Tuesday 6pm
Professor Sindhuvalli is a great professor. She appreciates engagement and explains questions very well if you're confused on anything. The course itself is easy as long as you keep up with your work and show up to class on time. Took this class in person, professor loves to communicate with her students and wants to be sure no one is stressing.
Professor loves student engagement, helpful and doesn't want you stressing. If you need to actually learn material it is hard because there is so much work and it's easy to get behind on assignments. Show up to lab as it counts toward grade and complete all assignments and you should pass no problem.
Good professor, and understanding. However, not very organized and doesn't reply to emails.
The professor made the class very fun which made me very interested in biology. I am looking forward to take Bio2 with her.
Class solely online, she rarely interacted w/ class. Not responsive w/ emails (took 3 days). Don't take this class if you want to learn new topics, I didn't learn much- class is easy though if you need an A. HW heavy with infinite retries, Assignments & Labs are 70%, Quizzes & Tests are 30%. Uses McGraw, (2) tests total are proctored through McGraw
Professor Sindhuvalli is genuinely passionate about what she does. Both in the field of teaching and the field of botany. She delights in talking about the labs in class and in talking about her garden at home. The pacing of this class is fair, and the lectures/labs are informative. She expects you to put in the work, but understands when life happens
Best Teacher Out There!
I took a hybrid version of Sindhuvalli's BSC2010c course. Probably 90% of the grades come from online textbook (Connect) assignments and labs, some of which were online. In-person labs were always fun and hands-on. Great lectures but few and far between. Start work early & keep up with pacing guide. Clean up after labs. Don't be scared to ask q's.
Great professor, just the homework is tedious. She is nice and friendly communicates well. Just know that all the homework is open the first week of class and that it takes 5 hours to complete just one chapter HW.
One of the better teachers I've had.
She is an amazing professor! We had 2 field trip this semester and a lot of hands on work. Im a very visual person so that helped me alot. There is a bit of work but as long as you keep up with it its easy. Labs are mandatory so you HAVE to be there. She is very sweet and I will definitely be taking her class again.
She's incredibly sweet and understanding! There is a lot of textbook work but it's easy to manage if you schedule it out.
Professor Sindhuvalli is one of my absolute favorite professors. Her teaching style is very hands on and inclusive. She knows how to get the class to participate in her lectures and lab assignments. She is a fair grader and has constructed very good lesson plans for the class to study and excel in. She is very punctual and helpful with her emails.
This professor is very sweet and is very passionate about the subject. The class is insanely easy if you do the work she assigns. Overall I feel like I learned nothing from this class and do not feel prepared to go to the next level at all. If you want an easy class just to get the credit and not the education than this is it.
She is very kind and teaches well, and interacts with the students. I kind of wished I talked more during discussions looking back on it, but I will remember her.
This professor made this class very easy, but if you want to actually learn about biology and be ready for the next level, this is not for you. She gives great extra credit assignments, and as long as you complete the assignments you will pass with an A.
Prof. Sindhuvalli's labs had absolutely nothing to do with the actual content of the course. Everything I learned was from our online textbook assignments. I received little to no guidance throughout the course(she didn't respond to a single email). I asked for resources to help me study, I was met with no reply.
Mrs S was my favorite teacher this semester. All assignments are online except for the in class labs, which are mandatory. She's very sweet and helpful, goes over the material and answers questions if you have them. Easy grader for the labs. I'm taking her next semester for bio 2! Definitely recommend taking her class :)
I took this class asynchronously. The due dates are fixed, but all of the modules are available ahead of time, so you can get through the course very quickly. Quizzes at the end of the chapters have unlimited attempts (except True/False), so you can go back and correct wrong answers up to 100%. Should be an easy A class
the professor is an extremely nice person but all the materials is online. she does not give any lessons in class, so for someone like me that learns by seeing it was very difficult to learn the materials from an eBook.
Professor Sindhuvalli was easily one of my favorite professors at FSCJ. She is an easy grader and made biology very easy. The labs were fun and interactive and I would recommend her to anyone looking to take a science class.
Love the way she manages and handles situations. Very understanding I enjoyed her class and her personality!
Shes sweet online test lightly proctored w cam ( didn't prepare me for next course ) . Its a lot of assignments due at one time because i took the hybrid class its a self-paced class. She assigns the work a month in advanced but its actually impossible to leave it to the last day and get an A don't be like me DONT make that mistake. Easy grade
She cares a lot about her students well being and is very considerate.
Professor Sindhuvalli is an amazing professor. I took Fundamentals of Biology with her and the labs we did in class were always fun and engaging. She's very clear on how the course will be graded and you can genuinely tell she wants you to succeed in her course. I wish I could take her class for all my science credits.
Professor Sindhuvalli is one of my favorite professors thus far. There are a lot of assignments, but she paces them out and provides a pacing guide to make sure you can keep up. Her instructions are very clear, and she provides extra credit opportunities. I enjoyed taking this class and her teaching style made information stick.
A lot of the feedback here is related to the professor directly, and they're right. She is kind and respectful. That said, you are taking this course for two reasons: the course itself and the lab. Her labs are mundane and boring. Be prepared to spend HOURS a week on homework and quizzes. The content is far above entry-level.
Dr. Sindhuvalli was my Biology teacher and i would. take her a million times over. Science is not my strong suit and I have been out of school for a long time but her class was a great way to get back into it. She is patient and answers any questions you have!
DEFINITELY TAKE THIS CLASS! I dropped out of my first biology class because it was ridiculously hard. In this class, you met only for labs that are clearly instructed. There was ALOT of work to do online each week, but she is very compassionate and helps in any way possible. If you want a teacher who cares about your success then take this class.
Dr. Sindhuvalli is such a genuinely kind person. The hybrid mode is mostly self-taught, but the online course is easy to navigate. Dr. Sindhuvalli is always happy to answer any question you may have and is quick to respond to emails. I have really enjoyed this course!
learned a lot more taking this class on campus.
This was my first college level science class at FSCJ and professor Sindhuvalli made it great! She is a very helpful and caring professor. You do have to stay on top of the work load online, but overall it's a very easy class and the labs in person are always interesting. I'm definitely going to take Biology two with professor Sindhuvalli.
I took Dr, Sindhuvalli's hybrid Principles of Biology 1 class. She's very sweet, if you need help very willing to assist, and not at all uncaring. Attendance wasn't mandatory per se as you could still technically pass the class missing a lab or two but because the class was hybrid our meetings were only for labs and you only got one freebie.
This bio course was my first college course i have ever taken and Prof. Sindhuvalli made it super enjoyable on the in-person side. On the online portion i did catch myself falling behind so you do need to keep up with the pacing guide that she posts since it is very homework and quiz focused. I would recommend her class to anyone though.
She is a very helpful and understanding professor. There is a lot of work online but as long as you keep up and do all the work, you should be good. The labs are easy and interesting. She is willing to assist you and she is quick to respond to emails. I recommend taking her class.
She was very nice to me. Also very understanding towards my medical condition. The class was hard though and had a lot of assignments and it was hard to keep up sometimes.
I absolutely recommend taking Professor Sindhuvalli. She is very understanding, answers emails and questions in a timely manner, and cares about her students. She does use McGraw Hill Connect online for all the homework assignments. The labs are in person and informative. I would recommend taking an, all in person, version of this course. :)
Professor Sindhuvalli is an excellent instructor. She is very friendly and explains information in detail. If you have questions, you can just ask her right away. I loved the labs that we did in class.
Professor Sindhuvalli cares so much about her students. She never fails to answer any question any students have, and her biggest goal is to make lab the most inclusive experience. Despite having all the course material online, Dr. Sindhuvalli made it very clear that she would make time for her students after lab. Both exams are lightly proctored.
Dr. Sindhuvalli was very clear with requirements and grading. When there was any issue, she was very responsive and helpful.
This professor gave good lectures. Was enthusiastic. She was understanding about how life circumstances can occur during the school semester. Her class had a lot of work...however she gave a good amount of time to get it done.
Professor continued to teach efficiently even through personal matters. The class was updated on changes to schedule and understood the content she was teaching. Worth to take
Dr. S is truly amazing you will be lucky to have her as your instructor. She cares deeply for her students and finds joy in what she does!
Dr. S is amazing, she is very nice and care about her students. I loves her class and I would definitely take her class again.
Amazing professor, she made biology really fun and I enjoyed our labs. Most of the work is online. Class time is meant for labs only. You can miss one lab and still have a good grade. Mrs. Sindhuvalli is so kind and a great professor I definitely recommend her as a teacher. Im taking her class fall semester online
Professor Sindhuvalli was great she really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. I would say the class itself is what I struggled with. The class is all online except the labs in class and they are super easy! If I were to go back I would have taken the online work more seriously and done a chapter a week instead of precasting.
She is really kind and helps out a lot. I recommend taking an in person course with her if you don't learn by teaching yourself. The online course is very very difficult, it isn't taught like a regular biology class and the chapter are hard, so I recommend the in person, but overall she is a great professor and I will take bio2 with her.
I am a freshman at FSCJ and am taking Bio 1 with Dr. S. I am a couple weeks into the class and really enjoy it. She has given us a week extra for our midterm, and has answered the emails I sent her. The online lab we use is also a really helpful platform for labs and reading. I have already signed up for Bio 2 with her.
I LOVE her. She reminds me of my grandma honestly. I look forward to our in person labs and the prof is great but the workload is VERY heavy. Lots of reading, lots of homework, lots of quizzes. Make sure you stay on top of everything especially the dates. She doesn't remind you of any deadlines so make sure you are aware. Would def take again.
she's a good teacher, but the information on the final and midterm was absolutely nothing like the quizzes or homework, of which there is so much it was so overwhelming. She did take us on a field trip to the downtown campus, but it really doesn't balance out the amount of work that had no correlation to tests, and barely any relation to the labs.
She is a very nice professor herself, but the workload was awful. It was all online and I learned absolutely nothing from it. If you prefer to learn online by yourself then this class will work for you, it just wasn't for me.
She cares deeply for her students and finds joy in what she does. The resources for studying are interactive and they will give you good grades and knowledge, I 100% recommend this professor.
She is a professor that has a passion for teaching, always willing to help her students and offer them excellent resources to learn. I recommend this professor.
If you are self-motivated, you're more than welcome to take her class. The material's mainly online where you learn everything by yourself but of course, she's also welcome to help you out if you have any trouble with it. We had some great labs where you make your own slides. I would've love it if she does lectures herself.
Dr. Sindhuvalli is a lovely professor. She cares about her students and her labs were always so fun. She's so good at responding to emails and answering any questions you have. Most of the work is online so study the chapter quizzes!! They base your midterm and your final!
If you want to have no life outside of school, then this class is perfect for you. On the weeks that we had to do 2-3 chapters a week, there would be a minimum of 7 to 8 hours of homework. I have taken multiple AP's (made 4's and 5's) had a 4.7 GPA, and this is the most rigorous and brain melting class I have ever taken in my life. Stay Away!
Easy class structure. It is a bio class so get ready to read. I have taken prof for two classes and the final may or may not be proctored depends on if she remembers to set it. Easy class if you use the book and quizlets. roughly 4-5 assignments a week that can easily take at least an hour each if you truly try to read and understand everything.
I took this professor based on the ratings! And I am so glad i did take this class. Coming to class matters! Lots of homework on connect but in your peace super easy! Tip: If you study the Assignments specially the Quiz!! You'll def pass the exam! I have no complain from her!
I took this class online, the instructor didn't need to teach you b/c of MGH Smartbook, however, was accessible regardless (acc. to my peers). I can not stress enough that due to the self-paced nature of this class, you need to pace yourself otherwise you will fall behind, there were ~70-80 assignments. She gives guides/pacing, so you'll be fine.
The grade for this class was mainly based on the Mcgraw hill done outside of class. Make sure you pace yourself or you WILL fall behind!! 70ish assignments but you'll be fine if you actually use the pacing guide provided!! Labs weren't too bad, if your struggling just ask for help.
No lectures or specific times to attend just do the work and work ahead if you can. DO the coursework on McGraw Hill. Make sure to pay attention to the homework material and don't fall behind and the course is easy to complete. Professor Sindhuvalli answers Emails but you may have to wait for answers so be sure to ask any questions right away.
Professor Sindhuvalli's class has a hefty workload, but with the right study tools like unstuckstudy AI, you can ace it. Engage with the material and you'll learn a ton!
I took Principles of Biology with Professor Sindhuvalli in a hybrid format and highly recommend her. She is a great communicator, providing clear grading and an organized itinerary. Homework and quizzes are completed independently, and labs, held once a week, are engaging and well-structured. If you need this class, take it with her!
She is an amazing professor. I took this class online and it was easy. There is a lot of work but it's worth it. The final is proctored so make sure you read. Lucky for my class no one could find time to go and take the exam so, we got to take it online. She answers very fast and is always willing to help you. I would recommend her for biology.
Very nice proffessor with a great knowledge of biology. Everything you need to learn is on Mcgraw Hill and you can do all of the labs without learning a drop of biology. Many of them I recieved creddit for just looking at something through a microscope. Good class if you are able to teach yourself but if not you will learn nothing in this class.
This class overall was not bad. The tests are only worth 25% of your overall grade which is the only reason I finished with an A. Got between a 95-100% on every assignment we had, so I thought the tests would go the same, but that was not the case. Tests were supposed to be from the same pool of questions but I hadn't seen most of the questions.
Fairly heavy workload with very little input from the professor. Extremely self paced course. The coursework is all in McGraw Hill and each chapter has its own homework, assignments, and quiz. Very few actual labs, which are dissections. This course was adequate but I wouldn't take this professor again due to the lack of engagement.

Got between a 95-100% on every assignment we had, so I thought the tests would go the same, but that was not the case.
