She's very enthusiastic.

Great teacher!!! hot!
I've had her for two other courses, and I can tell you that she's one of the best professors at MU! Princeton-educated with a body that puts mine to shame, girls and guys alike love her classes and her enthusiasm. She's awesome!!!
She was great in both courses! She is so helpful and understanding!
She is one of the best teachers at Mizzou. Not that it matters, but yes she is hot :-).
Excellent teacher, easy to approach with questions during office hours and after class. Very well versed in subject.
Her teaching is interesting but not very helpful outside of class. She doesn't give out her office phone # b/c she says that e-mail is the best way to get ahold of her & then she never replies. Her test ?s need work, they have bad sentence structure
I thought she covered some very interesting topics. She was a little goofy and absent minded in class, but oh well. She did let us out early just about every class which is sweet. Oh yeah, definitely did have a hot bod, gotta appreciate that.
She is a pretty easy teacher, but she is incredibly absent minded. Her notes don't make a whole lot of sense, but the tests are really easy!
She is funny and keeps the class pretty interesting for the most part. She is very clear and the tests aren't very hard.
Probably the best professor I have had so far. The class is very interesting and she does not make the tests very hard...if you go to class and pay attention they you will do good.
fun teacher that makes you think. her tests are straight forward and she gives good examples with everything. great class
She's SUCH a great prof-if you can take a class with her, do it! She's interesting, a great lecturer and willing to work with students. She's very passionate about what she does. I wish I could have taken more than I class with her.
She was really funny and showed some interesting movie clips to make her points. Also there is lots of extra credit, often for just showing up.
The movie clips were an excellent addition to the lectures. Sometimes the hour and 15 minutes go a little slow, but she lets us out early every now and then. The tests are straighforward, but a little book reading is needed.

shes really cool and a great teacher. she makes the class fun. if you pay attention its an easy class.

Segert is quirky and interesting. She was great to have in class, because you never knew what she was going to say. The class was easy, the video clips were a nice addition. It was an appropriate intro-level class, and I really enjoyed learning the matieral.
Her tests were unbelievably easy, just look over the notes and it's fine. I suggest that you take her if you are interested in psych and want an easy time with it. I don't know how she compares with the rest of the psych teahers though.
Challenging class, but enjoyable.
Very soft spoken voice, but very genuine and nice. I like her alot!!
Good teacher, knows the material and works with the students.
She gives detailed outlines of her lectures so it's really easy to follow and study for tests. The only thing I don't like is that she talks about her days at Princeton and UCLA a bit too much and she dress a little too young for her age.
Her tests were extremely easy and the lectures were very interesting. I can 't think of one bad thing to say about her. Overall great teacher!!!
Segert is great! She is a great teacher, who knows alot and is very interesting. She makes note taking really easy and doesn't try to trick you on the tests!
If all teachers could be like her....that'd be great. The class is a good intro to psych, easy but very interesting. She shows movies to make the knowledge relevant. Study the notes and definitions.
easy A
She puts the notes online and you just copy her writing from the overhead for notes. Tests are pretty easy and reading is light. Not a bad class and a very interesting selection of material.
Dr. Segert is a great teacher! She always presents interesting topics and unlike many other professors, she does not make the class so hard that no one can do well in it. If you take a class of her's you will not be disappointed.
Very interesting class, some may say she is easy, but it's mainly because she makes lectures easy and interesting. Her tests are exactly what you should be studying, and she even gives review sheets that help out greatly.
Very smart woman. Most stylish teacher I have ever had bar none. Kind, helpful, and brilliant.
Extremely easy class...seriously, I think I got over 100%. She can be boring at times, but the material is interesting, and she'll show movies that take up a lot of class time. Probably my favorite class so far.
Soooo easy.. definatly take this class!!! I hardly studied and got an A.. doing the experiments sucks though. She's super nice and the class is easy.
I went in during her office hours to talk just because she was so knowledgable and cool, even if I didn't have questions. Her lectures are fascinating, which makes it easy to get a good grade. A great person, professor, and class.
This class was sooo easy....the tests are an easy A plus she gives extra credit periodically!!! The lecture may be boring at times but it is interesting. Take this class it is a definite A!!!
Prof. Segert has to be one of the best teachers in the whole world. When she says her tests are straight forward, she isnt lying. They are normally word for word right out of the study guide or your notes. Her lectures are always interesting, I dont see why you wouldnt want to go! I <3 her!
Dr. Segert is one of the nicest and sweetest teachers at Mizzou, she is extremely helpful and really knows what she is talking about!
This professor makes the class interesting and fun to attend.
nice lady. pretty good teacher for an interesting subject. pretty likable person, pretty awkward lady tho socially
She isn't a fashion queen...that's for sure, but she is a GREAT teacher. She makes class very interesting and genuinely wants people to enjoy Psychology, and she does a good job. She's very straight-forward, and isn't out to get students at all. I LOVE the class!
Professor Segert is the coolest professor I've had this semester. She relates everything you are learning about to something cool and she's a total genius. A good class to take and an EASY A! I'll definately be taking more of her classes later on.
Prof. Segert is one of the best teachers around. She loves coming to class, knowing everyone, and never keeps you the whole time. She will adjust her teaching schedule and throw notes out if there's not enough time to cover them. She has 3 multiple choice tests that are straight forward and taken from notes. Take her class if you can!
Really cute, and EASY! When she says she doesn't like to be tricky, she is telling the truth. Just be sure to read what she tells you to, because there WILL be questions on the (easy) tests from it!
Very lovely lady who clearly knows her stuff. If you attend lectures and study a little, you will do fine in class.
She is the best teacher ever. Classes are fun to attend and never keeps you the whole time. Don't buy the books because she doesnt put questions from there on the test. If you study the notes taken from class, you will get an A easily.
Love this prof! She is without a doubt one of the finest teachers at MU. Take her classes. You will have to do your work to do well on the tests, but if you ask her she'll offer you any assitance you may need.
Dr. Segert was a great professor. Always straight forward and at times funny. Great teacher.
love her!!!
She is a great teacher. As long as you go to class and get the notes the tests are easy. You would honestly be just fine without a textbook. Probably my favorite professor so far.
Prof. Segert is a fantastic professor. She is easy to follow, and willing to help you if you need it. You learn a good deal in her classes, the material is generally interesting, and as long as you go to class you're sure to get an A. I also had her for Psych 2220.
Dr. Segert is the best professor I have ever had. She teaches interesting subjects and has an enojoyable fun lecture. I have taken 3 of her classes and will take more if I can. Tests are just like the study guide, so study!! *You do have to study a little to get a good grade, but there is always a curve!
Prof. Segert is amazing. Listen in class, take notes= get A. Very simple study guides and exams are exactly like them. She is very clear in her expectations, occasionally extra credit for coming to class. I wish I could take every one of her classes.
I thought the class was very interesting! She shows a lot of videos and her outlines were always posted onlines. Plus, she hosts a review session before every test. She is a very good Professor!
She was the BEST professor I had at Mizzou. She genuinely cares about her students and she's very knowledgable in her area. I wish she could have taught all of my psych classes.
This is the best teacher I've had. She mad the class so good that it was the only one i looked forward to every teusday and thursday. she convinced me to switch from a journalism major to a psych major. highly recomended.
Best teacher I've ever had.
She was definately one of my favorite teachers at Mizzou. She actually makes the class want to learn the information. She was really fun! If I get the opportunity I will take her again!
Prof. Segert is by far the BEST professor I have had at Mizzou so far! Her classes are extremely interesting, her tests are straightforward and pretty easy, lectures are easy to understand and interesting, and she is a fair grader. I'm not even a psych. major and I have taken as many of her classes as I could. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Dr. Segert is possibly the easiest teacher ever. Her tests are straight from the notes and assigned readings. She also gave out a rediculous ammount of "extra credit" which was basically filling out a survey for her other psych major students.I ended up with over 110%, so I have no sympathy for anyone who doesnt get an A in her class.
The best teacher I've had yet. I really enjoyed this class with Ines, and felt like she really cared about the students on top of being very knowledgeable. I recommend taking any class with her, if for no other reason than to see a great professor.
AWESOME!!!! Take her every chance you get!!!
Professor Segert is a breath of fresh air! She is always straight-forward and willing to answer questions in great detail. She is different from many instructors in that she combines a good sense of humor with passion for her field. I cannot say enough good things about her. She's also not half-bad looking!
She is very interesting to listen to, and gives good examples to relate to the topic.
She's amazingly sweet and she knows what she's doing. The class is easy, but very interesting. I looked forward to going.
She keeps the class interesting
LOVED her. I took the honors section and it was a great class that was actually interesting. She's extremely fun to listen and talk to-and she treats you as equals in the classroom and remembers you outside of it. Hard to get a hold of sometimes, but the class was 5 papers, no tests-all on stuff you actually didn't MIND writing about...go figure.
Amazing and interesting professor! You will fall in love. My favorite teacher ever!
LOVE her and the class. Super easy...tests are very straight-forward and just about word-for-word from the lecture. Very interesting as well! Definitely my favorite class this year.
If you want to hear about the history of the Segert family, please take this class! That's all she talks about, her husband Yawn and her two kids. I don't like this class.
Took Psych 1000 - Prof. Segert is nice, but she is completely clueless and scatter brained. Her class is easy, but death boring. Notes really aren't that clear either. She hates powerpoint, so she uses a projecter (bad idea). But she doesn't even fill the outline she provides u with, she only does like half the notes. Very Disorganized.
She is a nice person, but she is super boring and scattered. I can't understand her and the way she teaches. It's all over the place. If you took psych in high school DO NOT take it again... I don't like it anymore.
She is great! A sweet and really wants her students to do well and rewards them for coming to class. She went to Princeton and really knows what she is talking about!!She is so sweet, I love her! I like that she talks about her fam its funny
I can't believe anyone would think she is scattered and boring. If that's how someone really feels about this class then it was because they probably didn't show up that much and simply didn't take the time to learn. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had, she gives great notes, and does an excellent job teaching. The tests arn't hard.
best teacher ever
This class is hard. She is really nice and funny but the material is not easy at all. The good thing is that she gives you a lot of extra credit!
Loved coming to this class! The daily music choice and her excentric outfits were enough to motivate me to go :)
simply amazing love her clothes and she went to freaking PRINCETON seriously loved this woman would take another class with her in a heartbeat also she tries to learn names it is super sweet
Made class interesting and fun, basically study the study guide and easy A on tests, she makes the class easy, favorite professor
THE NICEST AND SWEETEST PROFESSOR YOU WILL EVERY HAVE! TEACHING SKILLS ARE AWESOME! CLASS IS VERY INTERESTING, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE INTO HOW THE MIND WORKS. EXAMS ARE EASIEST YOU WILL EVER TAKE. DEFINITELY TAKE THIS CLASS!!
GREAT PROFESSOR! She is a delight to listen to and learn from. It's a shame she is no longer teaching Mind, Brain, and Behavior. She cares so much about the students and teaching. I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND HERRR!!!! easy A!
Although nice, she is scatter brained and the notes she takes in class are all over the place. The tests are easy, but the class - eh, she takes notes on a projector and hates powerpoint. And I always had missing info on my notes b/c she just skipped sections of her notes. I wouldn't recommend her. Pretty dull class too.
FABULOUS
Great discussions. Appreciates student input. Positive. Wants to make it as easy as possible to get an A while discussing great topics. Wants to make the class as relevant as possible. Absolutely great.
Professor Segert is so great. She is so incredibly smart and insightful. Makes class interesting. The material itself IS challenging, but she enjoys it so much and is so clear cut about what is relevant that it makes the test easy. She loves to help students and will always make time for you.
A-MA-ZING professor. literally cannot say enough good things about her. Extremely helpful, passionate, compassionate, and funny. She is an amazing professor, in it to teach, not to fail. Hands-down the best professor/teacher I have ever had. Love Professor Segert!
loved Dr Segert--- I had her for at least 3 classes, and I loved them all.
Took one class from her and couldn't help but take the next! Absolutely loved her teaching and enthusiasm and while she's hard at times she really pushes you to think outside the box and analyze what you're actually reading.
She is the best professor I have had here at school so far. She is very intelligent about a wide variety of topic and incorporates them very well into class discussions. Just be sure to go to class for the quizzes because it will definitely help you at the end of the semester!
Best teacher I have had! If all of the professors at the University were like her, students would learn far more and actually enjoy attending class! I can not thank her enough for everything I have learned this semester, I just wish I would have taken her other courses!! Amazing and inspirational woman! Keep it up Dr. Segert!
Good professor, but I don't see what these other people see. She wasn't the best I've ever had by far but it's not terrible. I think some people click with her, and some don't.
Fantastic teacher. Grade consists of participation in psych experiments, online homework assignments due before each test that are very short and you can guess till you get it right, and 4 tests. The textbook is extremely helpful but I learned best from Segert herself in lecture. Gives out answers to EC questions in class that will be on the test.
Pretty easy class with this professor. As long as you read your book, you'll be fine. Attendance isn't necessary, but it helps with EC. She talks about being open-minded but she seems closed off, which is ironic. The class helps with GPA for sure.
Not a tough class at all, but then it is Psych 1000. Either read the book or go to class and take notes, she doesn't post them online. Plays music at the beginning of class which is kind of awesome.
Slightly boring class. Lectures were boring. Very intelligent professor though. Memorize experiments from lecture and you'll do well on the exams.
Nice teacher, but definitely not the easiest Psych teacher. She says her tests are "not tricky," but in reality they are pretty tricky. The lectures are directly from the book.
WONDERFUL teacher. She teaches a lecture but still tries to take the time to learn everyones name. She genuinely wants you to do well on the exams. She gives a study guide for each exam as well. You don't need to go to class, but if you take down her notes word for word- there aren't many notes- you'll surely pass the test. LOVED her!
This class was very boring, it is mandatory to come because she dos not post her notes or provide them if you miss class, there are only tests, 40 questions, 120 points each. Make sure you know the research studies and you should do well, the book was not useful to me.
Very easy class. Show up to lecture, pay attention, and you'll be golden. The "textbooks" were a few small health novels. They're not necessary for the class, but interesting and easy to read. She is always enthusiastic and open to class discussions about topics.
This professor was not helpful at all. Her lectures were hard to follow and boring. The test questions are confusing and tricky. The class average on the first 3 test was a 67.8% . The one easy thing about this class is the homework.
Dr. Segret is awesome for Psych 1000. Sit in the front of the class and she will know your name if you participate. Read before class and do the homework for the easy points, also the Clinical labs. Exams are pretty easy if you go to class and take notes.
I was really excited for this class but only a few weeks in to the semester, I found myself not going to class. I found Dr. Segert to be incredibly boring. I only showed up on test days but I kept up with my reading. I barely studied for the tests and I got a B in the class. It's easy but definitely not worth the time to actually show up to class.
I loved Dr. Segert. Okay, I can see why people say her lectures are boring, but if you pay attention, her stories that she relates back to the material are quite interesting. She is VERY straight-forward on her tests, especially if you actually go to class and take good notes. I want to take more classes of hers!
Prof. Segert is one of my professors in college I will never forget! She is crystal clear during her lectures and I recommend to my friends that they take at least one her classes. Her tests are straight forward--she doesn't try to trick you. You either know it or you don't sort of class. I learned a ton. And she's extremely kind and attentive.
good professor, terrible at writing tests
This was "Human Sciences Sequence I: Personal Identity." There is a lot of reading every night, but the conversations in class were always interesting. Ines is so sweet and so smart, very easy to get along with. I recommend this class.
SUCH a sweet teacher. Makes the class interesting and easy to follow. Not trying to trick anyone or make the class difficult. I absolutely loved her and recommend her for Psych 1000
Segert is great, she has done a lot of research and you can tell. Her lectures are clear and she is always willing to stop and go over something if you don't understand it. The class isn't easy but she made it a lot better.
It's not a very interesting class, but I did end up with a 103% with minimal effort.
Although it isn't necessary, I would suggest going to class because if attendance is low she will give extra credit quizzes or answers to test questions. I went to every class, but put in minimal effort, and got an A+
Easy, easy, easy! Exam questions come straight from lecture. She's so sweet & nice. Class was great.
Incredible! After high school psychology I never wanted to hear the word again let alone take another class. Because of her, however, I'm now a Psych minor. Go to class (the exams are directly from her lectures), study, ask her for help if you need it (Because she is more than willing) and you should have no problem getting an A+
An extremely easy class. I missed quite a few lectures and pulled above 100% on every test (she does give EC questions during lecture). Can be a bit boring and oversimplified, and expects too much class participation. An easy credit and fairly interesting.
Professor Segert is very knowledgable about the subject and has a lot of experience. Only downside of the class is the required experimental participation which is a hassle. Each test has at least 50% of past tests questions on it so try to obtain exams from previous semesters. Overall very clear cut and easy course.
Mrs.Segert can teach me psychology any day of the week ;). Very hot teacher and total babe.
Professor Segert is by far the most fantastic teacher that I have had at the University of Missouri. She uses current information, provides ample study material, clearly explains test expectations, and offers extra credit. Plus she plays awesome music and is hilarious.
Dr. Segert is the best professor I've had at Mizzou. She taught me so much valuable information in the field of psychology. Dr. Segert is very helpful. In her capstone class you are allowed to miss 3 classes, but you won't want to because the material is very interesting! Best capstone class, I highly recommend Segert!
Excellent professor, excellent notes. Made me love psychology.
She's so nice and SO smart. Mind, brain and behavior was a pretty hard class but it was still the most interesting class I've taken in college thus far. You cannot skip this class because she covers so much material, and be sure to read the articles she posts in the syllabus.
Professor Segert was pretty great. She absolutely loves teaching what she does and you can really tell. Tests are super hard though. No assignments or quizzes, and the only grades are from the 3 exams. Her lecture material can be difficult, so go to class and take good notes. She is a good teacher. And she offers a couple extra credit quizzes.
Going to class is crucial, as she doesn't put anything on tegrity and the notes are identical to the tests. She also gives out 30 extra credit points throughout the semester that are based solely on attendance. Somedays were extremely interesting, and somedays were so boring you couldn't wait to leave. Regardless, the class was a fun, easy A!
Ines made Health Psych bearable for me, as I had to take it for my degree and it seemed like one of the least painful options. She is very personal, friendly, warm, and entertaining. She makes even boring material interesting and I didn't have any difficulty understanding the concepts. She's great!
She is very interested in the material and she tries to make it relevant and interesting. You get extra credit points just for showing up on random days. She is approachable and friendly. My only complaint is that she tends to speed through her powerpoint slides which makes it hard to take good notes. Either learn how to write fast or paraphrase.
Super passionate about what she's teaching. Always kept class interesting and fun, yet informative.
Professor Segert is by far one of the best professors here on campus. Her style of teaching is fun, engaging, and interesting. She incorporates current events into her lectures (i.e. Vacination debate, Ebola, etc.) and keeps you interested. Tests are easy if you come to class, take notes off the powerpoints, and pay attention.
If you get the opportunity to take an honors section of any of her classes, definitely do! It's clear that she has a lot of faith and trust in honors students, and the relatively easy tests reflect this. Her lectures are never boring. She's clearly very passionate about the subject and knows a lot of stories that help you understand the material.
Segert's 1000 class was awful and I hated it and I somehow managed to end up in her Mind, Brain, and Behavior class and I absolutely love her! She gives over 100 points in extra credit and rewards you for coming to class. Very interesting content and she always keeps it current!
2210 with Professor Segert was awesome. She gave out 60 extra credit points this semester just for showing up to class on random days. Tests are identical to lecture material, however she doesnt post anything on Blackboard so take good notes because she moves fast. This class has alot of interesting material and is definitely worth your time!
Segert challenges you- her lectures are very interesting, but she flies through the slides - pay attention and type fast! There is literally no work in the course- only three tests. The tests are difficult, but if you can swing Bs on each of them and not miss class, the attendance and exam extra credit points will cover you- I stll got an A.
She is a great teacher. She speeds through powerpoints so you have to be a fast writer or typer. Her tests are kind of hard. She does give bonus points on tests.
If you get the opportunity to take an honors section of any of her classes, definitely do! It's clear that she has tons of faith and trust in honors students, and the relatively easy tests reflect this. Her lectures are never boring. She's clearly very passionate about the subject and knows a lot of stories that help you understand the material.
Ended up with over 100% in this class. As long as you go to class and take good notes, her test questions come exactly from the lecture material. She also gives lots of extra credit
Segert is absolutely fantastic and a wonderful choice for Psych 1000. I was worried this class would be a bore, but she makes it so interesting and uses very current examples that make you think! She offers extra credit regularly, and her study guides are crystal clear. An absolutely wonderful teacher who I would love to have again!
Ines had very interesting lectures, and as long as you showed up to most of the classes you got the participatory credit and were well prepared for the exams. Would definitely take another class with her.
The best professor overall that I've ever had. She's very interested in and passionate about her subject which makes her a joy to listen to. She brings relevant current event information to lecture. She's also pretty funny. If you go to class regularly you'll get so much extra credit that you'll barely have to study for tests.
Her lectures aren't all that exciting. She doesn't record tegritys so you have to go to class (or you should because sometimes she does extra credit - and she tests on the material she teaches) I read the book to do the homework (it comes straight from it) and when I was confused about something. Otherwise her tests are simple, just memorization.
She challenges her students but as long as you go to class she makes sure she gives you ways to keep your grade up. Most people don't use it but her textbook has an online portion that is great for studying and it is all I use.
If you show up to class and don't leave early she gives extra credit questions. Dr. Segert is an amazing professor and you can tell she cares about her students.
Lectures are very boring and all over the place
Tests are pretty difficult and you have to go to class. However, she is the sweetest professor and is extremely eager to help her students. She also gives a lot of extra credit which definitely helps. I'm taking her Health Psych class next semester and am very excited.
Segert is a wonderful teacher. She is well informed and her lectures are interesting. She offers extra credit "pop quizzes" in which she goes over the answers with the class so it's pretty much free review sessions with points. I have well over 100% in this class with maybe 2 hours of studying outside of class each week.
If you go to class and take the notes, you don't need the book. If you go to class she gives "quizzes" where she gives you the answers so it's basically points for showing up. She always has extra credit on the exam. It would be extremely hard to fail this class. She does flip the slides too quickly though.
This was my first psychology experience and Professor Segert made it a good one. Her lectures are very informative and she gives clear examples. Talks a lot about her family but it usually has something to do with the lecture. Very, very intelligent woman. If I ever take another psych class, I hope to get her as a professor.
Dr. Segert is extremely knowledgable, and she is a great professor who cares about her students. Lectures are long, but if you go to class and take good notes, the tests aren't bad and you don't necessarily have to read. If you do pretty well on the tests, get points for the research participation and the inquizitive assignments, you can get an A.
This class was great! Although you do have to go to class because everything on the test is from lecture, once you hear everything, it is common sense. She gave out 120 points of extra credit which you will also get from going to class. She is very nice and makes lecture interesting!
Dr. Segert was a great teacher! You can tell she is truly passionate about the subject she is teaching. I really enjoyed this class. If you show up to class, she has extra credit quizzes, and for every test she gives out 6+ extra questions. I didn't study much for my first test, and my grade reflected it but it was totally redeemed by quizzes!
Worst teacher at Mizzou! Didn't understand anything and tests are extremely difficult
Professor Segert was by far one of my favorite professors this semester. The tests can be a little tough so I would recommend studying. She's fun, quirky and has a great sense of humor. She doesn't posts her lectures online, so coming to class is a must. She hands out over a 100 points extra credit just for attendance which is a great too.
Don't buy the textbook!!! It's $100+ and I never used it, got above 100% in the class. She does assign pages you can read from it BUT all her test questions come from lecture notes so it's pointless. Very easy if you go to class. So many extra credit points available that it's an easy A. Good teacher and makes the class interesting!
Dr. Segert was an impeccable professor. She really focuses on going over the most relevant information quite well and illustrates the concepts in a nice and understandable manner. If you attend class and pay attention, along with doing all of the homework, it will be an easy B+, A-, or A. She cares about her students and she is an amazing teacher.
The average in our class at the end of the semester was a 97%, and I think the median was like a 98%. So if the median grade is an A+, then you have no excuse not to get an A. She gives so much extra credit in class, and her lectures are useful if you pay attention.
Dr Segert is an incredibly knowledgable professor with a lot of experience. The course content was entirely relevant and material is combined with things we want to learn about to make it really easy to dig deeper and analyze while in this class. I sat front row every lecture and learned more in this class than my entire college education combined.
I had her for psych 2210 and specifically looked to see if she was teaching the next level psych so I could have her again. She is so passionate and knowledgeable about the subject which inspires you to want to learn more from her. She also gave extra credit when attendance was low. 10/10 would recommend her as a teacher in any psych course.
Best professor I've had at Mizzou! She keeps her lectures interesting, and you hardly have to do any work to pass.
Prof Segert makes class very interesting. I wasn't too interested in psychology before taking her class, but now I'm thinking of taking it up as a second major. She is clear and passionate; she's a great teacher all in all. Homework is due weekly, but it's fast and easy. Pay attention and you'll ace for sure.
Very nice
great teacher, just stay up on chapt. readings
Segert was so cool. She really made every lecture interesting and you can just tell how smart she is without her being rude or arrogant about it. 10/10
Segert was cool, but a little weird haha. Her class was very easy for me. As long as you study and go to class you will pass the class. She gives tons of extra credit so I ended up with more points than an A+ required.
Dr. Segert is very nice and a decent lecturer. Our tests were 50 questions and 45 of the 50 were from in class lecture topics. If you don't take good notes in class, you won't do good on the tests and if you skip class you'll fail. As long as you go to class you should be fine.
Dr. Segert is great! She makes class enjoyable. I took her Honors Psych class, and there were only 2 exams and a project - no final. Participation in class is good too - she encourages it. Psychology can be boring, but Dr. Segert is a really good teacher and makes every class interesting! I'd take it again!
Take this class! Although attendance is optional I found myself going everyday because of how interesting her lectures were. She is a great professor and very knowledgable, made lectures very interesting. If you go to most classes you will do well on the tests because as she says in the beginning 90% of the tests will come from lectures.
Go to class to get extra credit
Take her!!!! Easy A as long as you put in some work. If you come to class she gives sooo much extra credit which makes the tests easy. She also gives other assignments so there are lots of points in the class.
The content is a lot to take in, be prepared to take a lot of notes. She recommends buying the book if you want to learn more about the brain but she never assigns pages from it so it is your choice to buy it. She gives great study guides and all her tests are from her lectures so if you don't go to class, you won't pass!
Really sweet teacher who gives good interesting lectures. Gives extra credit questions on test and study guides
Professor Segert is honestly one of the best. Her tests are mainly all from her lectures but if you go to class you'll pass. She uses many examples that always end up on the exams. She also usually gives 6 bonus questions on exams that you get to ask so they're super easy. Definitely an easy A.
You won't want to skip any of her classes even though she did not take attendance. She won't put her power point on blackboard but that is not the reason. It is because her class is just AWESOME. You will learn a lot things you care about and she is the professor who will remember students' name! She cares.
Don't buy the textbook. Go to class! All of the test questions come from lectures. You do have to study and put some effort in but the exams were never that bad. She gives a lot of extra credit which makes getting a good grade pretty easy. She is really sweet and I enjoyed going to her class.
The class presents many intriguing topics. BEWARE if you do not go to class you will not do well. She doesn't post her lectures. There are 3 tests, if you study and go to class you will do well. There were 7 extra credit quizzes (4 for 10pts, 3 for 5pts) I missed the three 5 pt quizzes, 15pts is the difference between a B- (80%) and a B (84%).
EASY AND INTERESTING - THE PERFECT COMBINATION.
She loves psychology and loves her students. She does a great job lecturing and keeping students involved. Shes a great teacher all around and the class is pretty easy. Some online homework but its word for word from the book.
Professor Segert is the best! Super nice and a great teacher. Take good notes and you'll go great.
If you're thinking about taking psych, take it with Segert. This class made me add a psychology minor to my degree. She tells funny stories and is passionate about the subject. Tests aren't too bad & no final!!
One of the best teachers i've ever had. Tests are over all her materials in class and all of the information is so interesting. I loved this class and a lot of the stuff is in my MCAT prep book, so thankful that i have learned it from her. She makes the topics interesting and if you go to class and study a few days before it's hard not to succeed.
NOT available for help outside of class. Ines is stern and condescending.
Ines is a great professor. She really cares about her students and tries to get to know them. She is sometime's a little spacey but she loves to teach and cares if you learn the material. About 100 points of extra credit given through out the semester so go to class and take notes. Don't really use the textbook a whole lot except for references.
As long as you go to class and do the required Inquizitive's and Psych studies, this class is very easy to pass and no final!
Segert is a great professor. All you have to do is show up to class and take notes, and then study an hour or so before tests. Tests are straight from the lectures, so if you show up, it's an easy A. Lots of extra credit too. Only criticism is that if you miss a class, she doesn't post lectures or notes on Blackboard or Tegrity.
Dr. Segert is great! She is really passionate about what she does, and her lectures are really interesting. Show up to class and take notes, do homework, and do studies, and it should be easy to get an A. Extra credit alone can boost you one letter grade. HIGHLY recommend this class with this professor.
I really loved Professor Segert! Her lectures were always so interesting and she's the one who made me decide I wanted to minor in psych. Her tests are difficult if you don't go to class and don't study. I loved doing the research studies as well. Would definitely recommend her for anyone looking for a good prof!
Class grade is only three exams. As a Psych major, I found her very boring. She spends most of the time reviewing PSYCH 1000, even though it is a pre-requisite for the class. Material is interesting, but she waters it down in order to not "scare" people into thinking the class is hard. Despite this, her tests are very tricky and extremely difficult
Great Professor, cares about the class grades and really prepares you before the test. If you read the text book and do all the inquisitives it's an easy a. She's such a sweet lady, if you're taking psych she's definitely the right professor to take it with.
This professor really shows that she loves her job and loves to teach! Show up to class and you'll pass. She gives so many bonus points out, you just have to show up to class.
Ines is passionate about her class. She doesn't allow laptops, and doesn't post notes online. Going to class is the only way you'll pass. Don't skip the class after exams, she gives answers to extra credit questions. Homework is online and everyone is capable of getting 100%. Really easy psych class
The lectures are not very interesting, but you should still attend because she gives a lot of answers to extra credit test questions. If you read the chapters, you will do fine on the test (the lecture material does show up though).
Dr. Segert is a wonderful professor. I had her for Psychology 1000 and loved it so much that I am changing my major. She gives an enormous amount of extra credit; the final test had 20 extra credit points. The tests are based mostly on the lectures, with a few points from the book. There is online homework every week but it is very easy to pass.
She gives many good lectures and makes psych interesting. Attendance is not mandatory but many of the lecture material are in the exam and she will not post slides online to encourage attendance. Tons of extra credit too. I ended the course with over 100%!
Awesome professor. 118 points worth of extra credit throughout the semester and the final grade is only out of 435 points. Easy A.
I absolutely loved taking Psych 1000 with Segert!! She is very clear on what you will be tested over when giving lectures to ensure that you'll be well prepared. She gives out a ton of extra credit question answers in class, so make sure you don't skip!!
Loved her and the class.
Prof Segert is an amazing professor! She is clear and makes the lectures interesting. She gives study guides with clear instructions as to what is on the quiz. And she gave out 7 extra credit points per test! Take Prof Segert, she is amazing!
Segert is a sweetheart and really cares about her students. Her tests aren't hard is you were there for the classes and look over the material once or twice. The average on one of the tests was a 99%. Definitely recommend her as a teacher for any class, her content is interesting as well
Amazing professor, amazing woman. Very qualified to be teaching, interesting course material, straightforward assignments. I would recommend Dr. Segert's courses to any student at MIzzou.
Lots of extra credit. I blew off a test and ended with an 89%. All tests were multiple choice with extra credit questions that she gave the answers to in class. Lectures were kind of boring but she is a fun, energetic person who makes psychology as exciting as it can be.
very interesting lectures and she teaches useful clinical application
I have had Segert for three of my psychology courses and I adore her. She is very intelligent and quirky. I think she gives great lectures, but she doesn't post any lecture slides online. Your grade is comprised of three exam grades. She offers tons of extra credit so its very easy to make 100 percent or more on her tests. I highly recommend her.
One of the best professors! Her class was a very easy A, but I still learned a lot from her at the same time. She gives you everything you need to succeed, including LOTS of extra credit. If you need an easy yet fun, interesting class, I highly recommend any of Dr. Segert's courses! Show up and pay a *little* attention and it's hard NOT to excel.
I absolutely loved this class and Professor Segert! She really knows what she is talking about and makes the lectures super interesting. I went to every lecture and studied for an hour or two before each test. There is so much extra credit offered on tests and in class that I ended with a 120%. As long as you go to class, you will be fine.
Shes mostly a good teacher, but uses inquisitive which really gets frustrating quickly. It makes you bet on yourself meaning you have to get 1500 to get 100 on the homework, so if you think you know the answer to a question you bet a higher amout of points, but if you miss it you lose that amount. Takes forever to get to 1500.
Segert was the most amazing professor I have had in psychology yet. She makes the material interesting, and is super down to earth. She gives 5 extra credit quizzes per semester, so it allows you to get about 50 extra credit points just from attending class. Doesn't post lectures anywhere, so go. Lots of extra credit questions on tests as well
Professor Segert was the best!! She had such a deep understanding of Psychology and was able to back it up with so much experience. She made her lectures interesting and provided TONS of extra credit opportunities if you came to every class. She does not take attendance, but she does not post her lectures AND you must be in class to know the E.C.
Psych 1000 isn't the most engaging class, especially if you already took intro psych classes in high school. However, Dr. Segert makes it a class you are excited to show up to, which is good, because you don't want to miss any lecture info or extra credit questions. I love how she uses real life case studies to explain topics better. TAKE HER CLASS
Dr. Segert is a great lady, but not a good teacher. I didn't enjoy either of her classes that I took. She is very monotone in her teaching, which I don't enjoy. I don't like psychology in general, so it makes it harder to want to go to class. Overall, her personality is good but her classes are very eh.
She is so sweet and funny! Was a delight to see her each class and she made the class as easy as possible!
Dr. Segert is really great at making lectures interesting. She gives out a ton of extra credit in her classes. Be sure to read and do the homework and get all of your points for psych studies and you'll pass easily. I've taken two of her classes and she makes sure you have lots of opportunity to gain back points you missed.
She is a great professor. She explains the topics extremely well. She styles the lectures in a way that only the important and interesting parts are said. I do not feel like I am wasting my time. The class doesn't have mandatory attendance, but she only goes over the slides in lecture and doesn't post them online. So, you have to attend to pass.
Offers lots of extra credit questions on exams which helps tremendously. If you show up to class and create quizlets based off the study guide outline she has, you will ace every exam. Everything is very straightforward and easy to follow. I would take her class again if I had to. Easy A if you study.
Prof Segert is probably the best professor I've had at Mizzou so far. She is really easy to understand and makes complex subjects exciting to learn. As long as you show up, or just read the book you will pass easy. She gives so much extra credit that you could bomb a test and still get an A.
Great
She is one of the nicest people I have ever met! She really makes the concepts easy to learn and makes you enjoy coming to class. She gives a ton of extra credit, so I personally got over a 100% on every test. The homework is also super easy.
Not a hard class but she is one of the worst teachers I have had in college. She does not lecture well and grades extremely hard. If you have to take this class, do not take it with her. Unless you want a large load of useless homework every other class.
Professor Segert is so cool! I sat in the front row of her lectures and it was so fun to talk to her. She gives great lectures and loves to answer your questions. Be sure to write everything down, its on the exam. Show up to class and get extra credit for exams. InQuisitive takes up some time, but its helpful for learning. A really solid choice.
I took her drugs and behavior class and I 100% recommend taking it. You have to show up to class because she gives in class extra credit. Her lectures are easy to understand but she does a great job teaching and you still learn a lot! She is great at what she does. I ended with a little over 100% in the class. you gain knowledge and a good grade!!
This teacher ultimately costed me thousands of dollars when i had a family emergency and missed a test and she would not let me make it up and failed me. She was so close to costing me my college education for something out of my control. Horrible lady.
really nice & caring, textbook(dont need to read) & pretty easy homework online, tests are from lecture notes & really easy, points for participating in psych research studies, talks about a lot of real psych studies which is interesting, attendance not for grade but doesnt post slides so go to class-she also gives extra credit questions in class
Ines Segert is probably the best instructor I've ever had in my almost fifteen years of school. She starts every lecture with a song that relates to the topic she'll talk about that day, which is pretty cool. 10/10 would recommend.
Professor Segert was awesome. I took the online section. Lectures are 20-45 minutes, and there is a research participation portion that is quite easy, it's just filling out surveys. Every other week or so there is an online "quiz" from the textbook but you can pull up the page while taking it so you don't need to read it. Extra credit quizzes also.
I took this class online and prof Segert is amazing! Her lectures are always so interesting and she explains everything in a way to make sure that her students understand. It is clear that she is very passionate and knowledgeable about what she is teaching. She also gives a lot of extra credit so its very easy to get an A.
THIS WOMAN IS AMAZING! She gives out tons of extra credit and she gives the best lessons I've ever had. She includes videos and case studies that are super interesting and relevant and makes every topic easy to understand. She is the sweetest lady and I cannot say enough good things about her!
This is my first time rate a professor online, and she is amazing. You can easily get an A if you watch her lectures and do all the homework. I think she is interesting professor and explain a lot of useful stuff. You never got bored with her. She is funny old lady. MUST take her class during your freshmen year!
Dr. Segert is probably one of the best professors I have ever had. She offers a lot of extra credit and her exams aren't too difficult. The class content is very interesting and she posts relevant information all the time. She also cares about her students and always is accessible
Only take your Psych 1000 with Segert!!!!! So easy and so much extra credit! Finished with 103% :)
Dr. Segert is a wonderful teacher that I would recomend to both psych majors and non majors that need to fulfill behavioral science requirements. She is a very nice person who really cares about students learning. Make sure to attend lectures that way you can answer the extra credit questions she adds to her exams. She tells fun stories during lec.
Dr. Segert is a great professor. She is very kind and gives interesting lectures. There are 3 exams, but they are open note. All of the answers to the questions on the test come straight from her lectures. She also gives so much extra credit. I hope to take another class with her in the future!
Professor Segert is the best! She is so sweet, and is always enthusiastic during lecture! The tests are a little difficult, and sometimes not all the information on the test is provided in lecture or is somewhat unclear. However, she gives many opportunities for extra credit which makes up for this - take advantage! Overall, I loved this class.
This class is so easy to get a good grade in because of how much extra credit there is. There are 3 exams that are taken towards your grade and and homework and research studies you have to participate in which are super easy. I would never read the textbook and just watched the lecture videos and did fine on all the tests.
Overall I really enjoyed Segert's PSYCH 1000. The subject matter was fascinating and her lectures were both clear and well-done. I did experience a hiccup with communication over some assignments, but it was eventually resolved and it didn't affect my grade. I'm sure that if the class was in person then I wouldn't have run into those issues.
really nice & caring, short interesting lectures w/ current studies & real world applications, asks what topics student want to learn about, 5 15 question multiple choice exams 30 pts each & very easy if take good lecture notes, 5 easy discussions 10 pts each-post response & reply to 2 others, gives a lot of extra credit
I took the four-week class. It is doable as long as you are good at keeping pace with school work. Homework was fair, but a bit challenging at times. The e-book and questions were not related well. I know it sucks, but you have to watch the videos to pass. I made a comeback from 60% to 92% because I took 6 hours of my week to watch the videos
This professor was amazing and the class was just as great. She told a lot of personal stories in lectures that really made the material worth listening to. The tests were also pretty self explanatory and I thought the class was great! You can definitely tell she has been teaching for a long time and absolutely loves her job.
I love this professor. She does a great job explaining the info, but does not make class super hard. I would recommend her to everyone!
she is great! she is passionate about the material, so her lectures are actually entertaining there is no homework, so a majority of your grade is the exams she gives a ton of extra credit opportunities so it is easy to get a good grade don't pay for the textbook, she covers everything you need to know in lecture
Great professor with many extra credit opportunities. She drops the lowest exam score which is very helpful. There are weekly assignments but they are very helpful and fairly easy to get 100% on. She has great lectures that are very relevant.
Hands down one of the worst professors I've had. She doesn't know what she's talking about, and you're likely to fail every test if you don't live, breath, and sleep psychology. The questions on tests don't make sense, and nothing she says in the lectures correlate to the test. All in all I would not recommend taking her classes. She's a BS Prof.
Professor Segert doesn't give homework for this class, there are several discussion postings and quizzes, but they are all extra credit. The only grades are the three exams. Interesting class. I like her and would take other classes from her.
Professor Serget was great! This was the second semester I've had one of her classes, and the formatting was the same. Extra credit opportunities almost every week. If you glance at exam reviews and watch the lectures, you will do great!
I thought she was a great professor. The only real grades are exams, but there are lots of extra credit opportunities that allow you to easily get an A. It was an online class so all the lectures were posted on Canvas. The exams are fairly easy as long as you watch the lectures. I enjoyed the class and am taking another class with her :)
TAKE DRUGS AND BEHAVIOR! I still have not finished the class off, but it is extremely easy. There are 3 exams and one final. The assignments that you get are ALL extra credit. Do the extra credit and you will pass with flying colors. Exams are very similar to the notes, and open note/book online. Overall super interesting content and EASY class.
The only thing worth a grade are exams, the rest is extra credit (at least one extra credit assignment per week). So easy I am taking another class of hers for that GPA boost. Exams are very easy IF you take notes and/or go to the review sessions!
Easy online course and not lots of homework either. The most work we received is an inquizitive. There were psychological studies you had to participate in but thats in every psychology class so it wasn't hard to get done. Sometimes her lectures would be long, but as long as you pay attention you'll be fine.
I highly recommend this class and this professor. I learned so much but was never stressed about my grade. Lots of extra credit is offered and tests are open note and multiple choice. The online lectures were usually about 3 hours long each week, but were always interesting.
Really well-structured class and has plenty of extra-credit opportunities. Exams are very fair and based on mainly lectures and homework. Overall very easy if you keep up with homework and extra credit to boost your grade.
Best professor ever - helps you succeed with extra credit opportunities and very clear in her lectures. I find the lectures to be a bit slow so I speed them up. I would take notes during lectures for the open-book tests and would do just fine on the tests. Some test questions can be hard but the extra credit makes up for it
This is now my second class with her and she is the best! I took it completely online and it is an easy A as long as you stay on track with the assignments. Each week is pretty routine and you also learn a lot from her! Love her!!
Professor Segert is awesome. I took her online class, and even though her lectures were all videos, she still made it seem as though you're actually in class and actively participating. You can always reach out for help, and she makes sure everyone has a easy opportunity to earn a good grade in her class.
Love Prof. Segert. This is my 2nd class with her. This class is an easy A and a great GPA booster. 6 quizzes, 3 exams (open note), no final! There are optional extra credit assignments. Some of the material can be too in-depth but the lectures were interesting overall. Some lectures are long, but they're interesting enough that it is bearable.
I have taken professor Segert for all of the Psych courses I have taken at Mizzou, she always keeps things interesting and I never got bored in her class. My favorite of her classes was Drugs and Behavior I would highly recommend it. Lectures are recorded and test are online. Loved taking her classes, I wish she offered more.
Dr. Segert is amazing! Online courses can be difficult, but she sets them up in an extremely helpful way. She lets you drop one quiz, and provides extra credit about every other week. She has office hours set up at frequent times if anyone wants to ask questions, or just chat with her about anything. She's an amazing professor!
This class is best if you want to spend majority of your life studying the brain.
I have had three psych courses with Dr. Segert, she sets you up for success. Watching the lectures and taking notes will give you an A on every exam. There are a few exams, discussion posts, and no final. There are a decent amount of extra credit options which are super easy. I am ending PSYCH 3830 with over 100%. Take her classes if you can!
I had Dr. Segert for two courses last semester and she made it so easy to know what you have to do every week, there are tons of options for extra credit and if you keep up with the work the exams are very simple!
