Decent professor, somewhat unorganized though. You know what your doing and not doing and how you got the grades you got. Many students dislike her, but some think shes good. I would say shes better than many in the Math department at MC.
Prof. Scott is a good teacher. I took her class a couple semesters ago. Shes easy to talk to and willing to work with you if you need help. Be focused in her class and work hard because she doesnt give grades. She is a sweet woman and easy on the eyes too! grrr....

TERRIBLE-avoid! many kids drop b/c her tests are too hard and shes so tough. even the smartest struggle to get a passing grade. shes ok one on one but in class its another story - shes super quick, a bit ruthless and kinda disorganized. she means well but the kids grades dont show it! everyone fails
Learned alot from this class, shes very helpful and fun.
she knows the material very well.but dont expect an easy A.you have to focus and work hard.i recieved point decuctions for not following directions.i talked to her and fought for those half points. she added some points back, from then on i was A.K.A "half point" to the class. i speak very urban, and i bug her alot. overall, shes pretty chill. DO HW
Love Her, she is a hard teacher but she explains her material well. She's very welcoming to come to if you don't understand. As long as you keep up w/ the HMW and study you'll pass w/ an A
She is very tough, not helpful. She is not easy to pass and I went to class everyday. She is very unorganized and her attitude is unpredictable!
Whatever you do, do not take Calculus with her. She gives you an impression that she is careless but when it comes to tests she makes them very hard. She is really disorganized and she is not interested in the class at all. She doesn't really care about the students.
She's not bad; Do the problems in the book, you'll score a 100% in EACH N' EVERY TEST...... She's considerate.
Pretty easy class- do the work and you will be fine.Quizes and tests were exactly what she tought in class.
Professor Scott was the coolest and funnest teacher that I had at MC. She was very helpful with the stuff I didnt understand and had a great sense of humor. Loved this class!!
she is nice person. she likes to joke and treats students friendly. She teaches clearly. However, she is a hard teacher. Most of my class mates were struggling or failing. People complained about the grades.
MC generally has crappy math teachers, but Prof Scoot is one of the good ones. She is clear about the material, and she gives helpful handouts. She does give easy quizzes and hard tests. But if you study, do your HW and ask good questions she'll take her time to explain. She is younger and has a sense of humor unlike most other math teachers.
Shows you easiest problems during class and will give you the hardest ones on tests. Will not help you on problems involving algebra or trig. If you ask questions you must be specific, will not respond all the questions students may ask. She goes very slow with the easy material then when she's behind, she will speed up on the harder sections.
5/2/09 probably didn't do his or her homework lol. Professor Scott is THAT professor. I'll agree that at times she does go kinda fast and sometimes kinda slow, but she's an excellent professor for students planning on pursuing engineering (I'm not). Try to sit in the front, do homework, and crack a couple jokes. You should get the grade you want.
Professor Scott, is great. I do agree with the comment that at times she can go kinda fast and then kinda slow but overall. She is good. Math is not my cup of tea. It's definately another language to me; however I passed her course. As long as you study, do your homework, do all extra assignments, ask questions, you'll be fine!
she's the nicest person u'll ever meet but i felt like her teaching style ddnt work for me. I did excellent the 1st 1/2 of the course cuz i had my precalc stuff down, but the bulk of calc I was fail! she discussed the easy problems in class and then her quizzes are impossible. take home quizzes are THE WORST! fun & lovely lady but hard as shizzles
She goes through the material rather quickly, and since we lost a week of class due to a snowstorm, the difficult parts of the course seemed somewhat vague. She would always come late to class in a mess, and use the projected camera to do examples with her sloppy writing. She may be good with other math courses, but certainly not Ma 160
This was her first year teaching the course and I think she was pretty good. The quizzes every other class was annoying but it helps boost your grade. She gives you study guides that are very helpful. The book is used but she shows the problems on the overhead. Overall I would recommend her.
She's very scattered and disorganized. She doesn't show up for office hours and she never seems to have gone over the material before class. This was her first time teaching MA 130 and it showed. She is constantly confused or giving us conflicting information.
For the love of it, will someone kick her out of teaching MA 130! She was horrible I am a straight A student and got a C in the class. Not clear, very messy, always late, if she was having personal problems she took it out on the class. All I can say is good luck to anyone who has her as a teacher!
super hard teacher. goes very fast.always late(around 10mins) more than half my class dropped. Even the smartest kids were struggling. Shes funny and nice but her tests were HARD. different from what we worked on class. Im retaking the class. i failed. i never fail a course....
She's an awesome teacher. Just do what she askes on assignments and you should be be good to go. ...I suck at math, but taking her class made math seem easy. ...I recommend her to the hard working devoted students! :)
She is definitely funny and pleasant. However, wasn't fond of her teaching style. She goes through material entirely too fast. If you don't have a VERY specific question ready to ask she will not give you the time of day. Assigns a ton of homework, only works on easy problems in class and tests you on difficult equations.
Very unprofessional professor. This lady is all over the place and unorganized. She has a bad attitude and she gave us a 10 minute time limit on our quiz! Once she said "last call" I put my hand up for her to collect my quiz then she turns around to say she's no longer accepting it. Ok..
She is nice and funny. She kind of likes going fast, but she does not leave anyone behind... as long as you show your interest. Do the homework, come to class and you'll get a very good grade !
This teacher is very hard and strict on time. When taking a test or quiz if you do not finish in her time frame she will take the test. She is always forgetting papers in her office. Very disorganized. All homework are done in math lab program no need for a textbook. She allows eating in class and laptop use.
This professor made math enjoyable. She had a sharp sense of humor that kept students on task while keeping the classroom environment light. She was very knowledgeable and readily admitted when she made a mistake. I'd say she's strict but down-to-earth. Her sarcasm made math class less boring and I benefited from her grounded style of teaching.
The teacher has a nice humor and is kind but the homeworks are about 40-80 problems each homewoek and quizzes are extremely hard since she only teachers you how to do the easy problems on the textbook and then puts the hardest problems she can find on the test
She explain stuff clear, but don't be fool..her tests and quizzes are xtremely difficult..the stuff she go over in class are easy but then she put the hardest problem on test and quiz. Also homework is mandatory, not just for completion, she require you to write in a journal and turn it in every time you take a test!
Only 4 words, She is the best
First of all i think its hilarious Mrs. Scott commented on those who commented on her, secondly this class is tough and if your looking for challenging you've found it. Tests are the hardest problems in every subject bar none but easily the worst thing about this class is that she hardly gives partial credit for problems on these tests...
She was very good at answering all of the questions I had and for every test and quiz she gave an answer key which was nice because we could look at how the problem was supposed to be solved. She also prints out the notes for you, so you don't have to waste much paper, still make sure to have a notebook.
This class was extremely difficult for me, her lectures were clear but when it came to the tests it was another story. No partial credit for any work on it, no mercy. She will help you and she is very nice.
Prof. Scott is the best! I suck at math but in her class got an A. If you do each packet given to you, and complete the study guide you'll get an A. She does have a big attitude but the work is pretty easy. Also do the homework and you'll understand what she's talking about.
Cool personality keeps the class environment light. Tests actually require to know the material, but as long you put some effort, she'll give partial credit(don't know what that other comment was talking about). Gives lecture packets. Goes kind of fast, but won't hesitate to help if you simply raise your hand and ask for clarification. Extra cred
I think she is S U P E R helpful when you don't understand something. The program online was really helpful. She made everyone in the class be apart in the discussion atleast twice in a week. There were quizzes that needed atleast an 80 to pass but had numerous times to take it. You also needed an 80 to pass the exams. I learned alot from the class
Overall she does a very good job at explaining and making sure you understand. You just have to really study the material.
Great teacher as long as you do your part and practice! The lectures were very clear, and there is ample opportunity to boost your grade over the course of the semester with group work, homework, and quizzes.
The materials are clear, but her tests and quizzes are extremely difficult. If you are not good at math look for another professor. good luck.
Her method of teaching is quite weird, although she's very approachable, she's an extremely difficult grader/professor. She makes you do pre-class notes, but doesn't go over them in entirety. OMG her exams are like the DA-VINCI-CODE, her exams are NOTHING like the study guides. IF YOU LOVE YOUR LIFE DO NOT TAKE HER.
Cool person.. Not good at teaching in my opinion. She'll go over the easy stuff and leave the hard stuff for you to do with barely any help. The way she grades is petty. If you take this professor be on your p's and q's. Make this class your number one priority. SHES PRESSED OVER PRE CLASS NOTES. In my opinion theyre not helpful but do it anyways
I took her summer class for precalculus. You do not want to skip any class. Pay attention and you'll be fine.
Lots of homework online but the deadlines are shown days in advance. Uses mathxl. In class lectures are going over chapters from the book. Btw don't get the book. You don't use the textbook at all, just the mathxl access. Sassy from time to time but a more laid back fun professor.
This class shouldn't be as hard as it seems. The class is supposed to be easy but she makes it harder than it should be. Her grading is ridiculous if you forget a one detail she completely fails you and you don't receive any credit even if you get the right answers. Doesn't help with extra credit. Can be sassy. awful notes, she doesnt help at all.
at first the class was not bad but then she started going fast, going of topic and talking about things that were irrelevant to the class. she would give us the study guide 2 days before the test. for our final exam she stopped teaching until the last day before our exam and did not review at all for it.
She is funny, but she makes everyone afraid (and feeling stupid) with her random trick questions. She lectures from her Classnotes, which she provides in class (and on Blackboard). The online quizzes are subtle , you get no points for slightest errors. The hardest lecture problems WILL be the exam questions. Her exams too hard for the time given.
Statistics is not that hard, once you do a lot more on your own. Don't just show up and not do anything during, and at least after class. A bit of guiding is better than nothing. Professor Scott is a good instructor but, not the best. It's a shame very few people wants to help out with statistics, with this being said Professor Scott could put a little more thought into what she's doing, she doesn't explain as much as you'd hoped not as well as to leave you 100% confident you'll do well on a test or a weekly quiz. I'd find myself typing my own notes gathered from the textbook, class notes and powerpoints ready to edit at the begging of every chapter, I also have 2 tutoring sessions every week, and I'm barely passing! I understanding the material because I find myself doing the research but she words stuff so general and in an odd way to lead you confused.
She gives a lot of handouts for notes which is helpful. Tests are challenging but the notes help prepare you. Taking 181 now and her notes help. MathXL didn't help as much for tests. Fun class some days.
I would not recommend her, I got my first D in college because of her. Her teaching methods are very off and does not have patience to bring you on board. she's very approachable and funny but is hard to get to if that makes sense. i liked her a person but not a educator.
Prof. Scott is not awful, but you really need outside resources in order to get through this course. If you do not understand something, seek help from online videos, tutors, and maybe her (not recommended). She is very knowledgeable about Statistics, but she lacks the communication skills needed to explain it to her students. Beware.
Be prepared to do a lot on your own and make this class your main priority, read the textbook more often than her notes. Here's why I say that she doesn't give you enough, clarification, detail, and explanation and the material as you'd hope, so you'd do research outside of class to really understand what is going on. her lectures are at full spee

Professor Brown-Scott is great at explaining Precalculus. You need to put in effort to get an A in the class. Her tests are based off the notes and she gives an online quiz every week. You have to do the online homework. Math XL required and the online textbook comes with Math XL. I recommend her, she is a really nice and funny person!
There's a lot to say about professor Scott, Yes, you have to work hard and the questions might not be as clear as you'd want it, I typed notes outside of class and had tutoring sessions. With that being said, she's not perfect, she, however, tries her best, and teaches way more classes. She can't master them all and I respect her effort
AVOID HER I had her during the summer. She was rarely accessible outside of class and often belittled students in class when they had questions wrong during lecture. Her grading was horrible. She is a strict grader and often over looks grading on tests. I showed her that the answers she marked as wrong were actually correct on ALL my tests.
You'll have to do most of the work yourself, do think the teacher will help you with most of the material, And the option of buying a graphing paper. I bought it think this will be so useful, and we're going to graph and I was so wrong like yes you have to write exercises and stuff but you can just use regular paper!, useless save the money
Best math lecturer ever! But her tests are extremely long. Print her online class notes before attending. Add your own during class. Be sure to get a complete understanding of every (particularly hardest) homeworks. Use office hours. Identify hardest homework question: work through with complete accurate answer then memorize. It will be on test.
She's messes up a lot, even on tests. Doesn't seem so organized. You'll pass the quizzes an tests if you do the homework and actually understand it. She could help you if you ask for it but se does make up with her mistakes with very little extra credit points. She does give out some extra credit points on tests only.
lost of quizzes and by a lot I mean there some you won't even realize were due
Not easy but I feel like I learned a lot. She tells you exactly what's going to be on the test so if you know it you'll pass it. Trouble is some of the stuff she puts on tests is hard. She does give you a chance to earn back points on the test, drops home works and quizzes. Don't like all the MathXL homework
I Would not recommend her, while she has an amazing personality and is very kind she is not very understanding. Quizzes are 15 minutes long. It doesn't matter how difficult the material may be, you only have 15 minutes to answer everything. Lots of her quizzes cannot be completed under 15 min. very tough grader.
Advise trying any other professor before you settle for Prof. Scott. It doesn't appear to me that she cares much about her job. She's lackadaisical and holds no accountability despite a large amount of the class underachieving. If you make one little mistake in a problem you'll get 0. Grades during class on day they were suppose to be returned.
Apart from the fact that she is very intimidating, she doesn't have any patience for her students nor does she even bother to make sure her students understand the material she is teaching. She grades very though and one slip up means automatic failure. She is very strict and fascist in her method of teaching. I would not recommend her class.
2nd time taking Prof Scott. Like her handouts. Goes over stuff clearly in class. I started doing better when I went to her office hours. Study notes and you will pass the class. Gives MathXL homework but not very helpful.
It's a tough class but she's a great professor! Pay attention and do the homework and you'll be fine! Very accessible outside class! If you like math take her (:
Gives notes in handouts. Explains clearly. Tells you exactly what will be on test and lets you earn back points on test.
I totally agree she grades very though so there is minimum room for slip up. Indeed She is very strict and fascist in her method of teaching. I would not recommend her class. On the good side, she tells you how to prepare for test and exams but when that times comes it makes no sense because her test and exams are very difficult.
One of the worst teacher in my entire life experience. I can't even find a word to describe how awful she is. Impatient, angry, messy. I had her for spring2018, by the end of semester right before the drop date, 80 % of the students dropped the class including me. No curve at all. She goes over stuff in her pace and tells students you should know
I felt like I was drowning in HW. She reviews material by going through a handout that reflects the chapter. She doesn't teach the material, she reviews it. Your expected to know the material when coming to class. Gives a quiz once a week & will give a quiz off the homework you did. This class moves fast & we go thru chapters within a day or wk.
Prof. Stands in the front of the classroom and speaks the whole time and assumes every student has grasped it from her going over it once. She constantly has to redo lessons because she always wrongly teaches things. Her quizzes/tests are super difficult. All in all don't take her unless it's the absolute last option
Best Math teacher ever.
One of best math teachers I have had at MC. Very patient - answers questions. Gives notes handouts. Test questions come from handouts. Lots of chances to pull up grade.
Fun class. Was not ready for all the reading expected. Gave a lot of examples. Explained clearly. Hard class in the summer
She's awesome but i've never taken a class where very early on the whole class thought they were going to fail. MathXL quizzes are super picky and she's quite picky while grading. The online homework and quizzes are frustrating but when she goes over things it makes it way easier to understand. I think in my class of 30 only 4 people got an A.
Was pretty disorganized, forgot to grade things, wasn't very good at explaining things. This was the first class I have been apart of where more then 50% of the class has dropped and only 2 people were passing.
She is a great Math professor. funny and caring. You won't doze off in her class. she is a fair grader and encourages class participation. she anwers all question and gives good feedbacks. I will take her again if given the chance
Professor Scott really is a solid professor. She is available outside of class and is always willing to provide more clarity if needed. There are quick quizzes at the beginning of every class meeting, a lot of material being taught which can be overwhelming at times, and she's also a fair grader. Be sure to study and you'll do well in the class.
This teacher doesn't help at all and is vey rude. Gives you no time for anything
This teacher is not helpful DO NOT TAKE
She was very disorganized, she forgot to grade items, she wasn't quite good at describing things. This was the first class I was removed from class when you didn't answer her questions. more than 50 percent of the class fails and only two people passed
sayings this teacher tells you rudely "you need to put in the time" "no questions now" "I guess their not here" *kicks student out*
When in class, if someone didn't answer a question for "attendance", she kicked them and they could not return to class for the rest of the session. She also goes too fast when teaching. She doesn't give enough time for CW to turn it in. She can see what the students' grades are, but only continues to say "put in the time"," take notes," unhelpful.
Professor Ingrid Scott is not a good professor. She often ridicules and laughs at her students, and then gawks and wonders aloud why nobody is asking any questions. She routinely gives homework with material that she has barely gone over, if at all. She always has to be right and refuses to admit a mistake, unless it's glaring obvious. Awful.
She is arrogant and belittling. Her classroom a toxic place. If you have a question or get a wrong answer, be prepared for a lecture on why you are wrong. She flies through new concepts, doesn't teach effectively, blames the students for not understanding completely, and expects us to succeed anyway. Worst Professor I've meet.
I am entering my senior year of high school, and I found the class easy if you take notes. You complete homework assignments on Wiley Plus every week, but most of your grades will come from your test scores. Tests will be held and administered on Wiley Plus. You will pass if you watch her instructional videos and take notes.
Took her Statistics math class online for Fall 2021. Honestly, she made the class feel so easy. It was rare I didn't understand the concept of something. Her lecture videos thoroughly explain things WELL. I was surprised by how well I did. She breaks things down very effectively in a way that's easy to understand.
I took this class online, and it was honestly one of the worst experiences I've had with a teacher. She barely responds to students, and when she does, it's usually short or dismissive. It took her three weeks just to grade a single test, which made it impossible to keep track of how I was actually doing in the class. Run from her class
Not a good professor. Takes forever to grade anything. So you never know your actual grade very frustrating
Her lectures were a bit difficult to follow and sometimes a little disorganized, but she was willing to help. She can be very busy, but always makes time for her students during her office hours and before and after class. She is pretty funny and kind as well.
