I have just one question. What nationality is this professor?
um...not good at explain difficult concept. She expect u to know everything in class. And, she doesnt like ppl go to bathroom during class...ehh...what can i say..? if you are good self-learner, she is ok for u...but if you're not...dont take her.
she has difficulties explaining math, and she is a tough grader. dont take her unless you are realllyyyyy good in math
No Comments
I had her last semester and I do not recommend her. She can not clearly convey the concepts and gave us problems on an exam where solutions did not exist. Decide for yourself.
Not Bad! If you listen in class and take careful notes then there is no problem. She explains concepts clearly. The only bad part is that she seems kind of rude.Seems ver arrogant. Other than that she is pretty good.
do not take her. she can not teach for the life of her she tries but cant once again do not do not take her grades horrible
she is not clear about anything she teaches..
Not a good teacher at all. She is very preferential. I took her last semester and saw a student got up like 20 times to ask her questions during the final. Got the impression that she was actually doing the exams for the student. She is a bad teacher.
i loved this prof. She is better for students who are good at math. A lot of people struggled in the class, but i think that has more to do with them than her. Just do the hmwk and you'll be fine. If you have questions during the exam she will help...just ask. i got an A
before her class i was always a good student in math. i never got less than an a and in her class i was forced to drop out. the only reason why you should take is should be because your very very good in math and shes the only clas that fits your schedule.
shes a good person, and she gave us a make up test to cancel out one of our 'official' tests which was really nice of her. That being said, you gotta pay a LOT of attention in class for it is easy to get lost. ALso take your time to study for hte tests, since the questions there are difficult
This Prof. has no idea what teaching is all about. Very very difficult exams, and she can't deliver the material effectively. Total disaster!
Calculus is not easy but if you do the hw from the sheet and go to her office hours and ask every single question you have trust me you will get an A.. she's really nice and helpful
I think she missed her calling. Try another subject that she is better at, because she is noooo good at this one.
Just listen to her and do your homework.easy A
she has a very thick accent but you get used to it. my first exam i got a 50 but the next 2 i got over 80's by going to tutoring and participating in class. She gave me an A-. She's not that bad if you're good at math
she is the wrost professor at baruch. you`re fired.
She looks friendly. However, her tests are not friendly. You got to study and do your homework, since this is a math class. She grades the exams very kindly.
Easiest Professor take her easy A
How was this class an easy A? There's a department-wide final, and out of a possible 35 questions I got 16 right. The class average was a 15 out of 35, needless to say most of us failed. Her classes may be easy, but if you want to pass you may want to go with another professor. She's nice and all, but that's not enough.
Ok...the only way this class can be easy is by having prior knowledge! Don't take her at the end of the day bcse she doesn't have any patience to explain u the material! Also, don't argue w/ her (it's useless). U ve got to put some work to get this A but it's College...Overall Ok but not the best prof I ever had
Nice Prof. But you need to do your job. Easy A
She is a great professor, explains the material very clear. Foe every class you take u have to put some work and she helps a lot if you dont understand and goes over and over again if she has to until we get it. Great professor take her! i've had really bad professor and she is one of the best!
a very good proffesor.speaks english with accent and makes mistakes during the lesson, but knows the subject preety good.if you are romanian take her.
Very bad professor. The review sucks. Its nothing like the test. She should understand that her class is required course not something students want to make to learn something. The stuff was waste of time beside the section on business application.
Her review sucks. Not a good professor.
She is really nice and she know her subject well. Even thought she have accent, but still easy to follow. She have good manner if you respect her teaching.
She's not a great teacher, but she's not bad either. Don't really need textbook seeing how she never did collect homework; however, it might be smart to get it if you are planning to study on your own. The things she tests on are generally harder than the examples she used in class so be prepared. Also, she gives many quizzes (about 12).
EASY PROFESSOR, JUST GO TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES. TESTS ARE IDENTICAL TO CLASS PROBLEMS. EASY A. TAKE HER :)
She is very good professor. Very easy and helpful. Just do your homework and participate in a class and you will be good!
ok the only compaint i have on her which is pretty serious is that the test problems are much harder than the ones she uses in class or assigns for homework. her accent is not a problem and she teaches clearly. i get the main concept but not compicated stuff. take her but be prepared that she will give harder and longer examples than in class or hw
very nice professor, easy A
This was her first time teaching this class, and I think she did a pretty good job. Very helpful, but she wasn't too familiar with some of the material at times. You probably will want to have some Probability and Finance experience before taking the course. 4 quizzes, 1 midterm and 1 final. I'd take her again.
Useless, inresponsive professor with very bad accent, not prepared for higher levels of MTH. She looks funny when trying to do her "job"-transfer formulas from the book to the blackboard. Recommended for people who just want to pass the course and not recommended for those who want to learn.
I took her 2610 and she did a great job. I am sure I can get an A. She was very helpful and gave a lot of question examples at class. Take her!!
MTH3020. Extremely bad teacher. Does not fully go over problems to questions which will make your life more miserable trying to solve questions. Quiz every week so you must keep up everyday. No HW and does nothing to help further understand the material. Spends time on one question but you will be completely lost because she won't explain anything.
Easy grader but don't expect to learn so much about Financial MTH. She does not really master the subject, constantly refers to her notebook. She might look funny but she is kind of annoying. Come on, it is a 4000 class. I was expecting a lot more and ended up learning almost nothing. Easy A but useless as a professor. Your call!!!!
I found her class extrmely intersting in theory. Maybe as a professor she might not be top notch, but who cares. She is a very kind lady who doesnt really care about details, but more of the overall picture as the class mostly circles around excel and financial theory rather then concrete applied math. Study for max 2 hours and you will be fine!
In my opinion, HORRIBLE prof! When we asked questions for clarity, she ignored us. When we brought hw questions to class, she put it off then would forget. She doesn't know when tests will be held until the very last minute. Stay away if you can!
Terrible professor. She does not go over the problems clearly and whenever she couldn't solve the problem correctly, she just skips it. She makes calculus more complicated than it seems. She always seem unsure about what she is doing. Also, she couldn't decide when to have the exams until the last minute. Not recommended.
Great Prof! I've taken two different classes with her. I've heard some ppl took 3. I wish she would teach more courses. She does a great job of explaining the material with relative examples. Tests are straight from class examples and homeworks. If you ask, she will tell you exactly what will be on the midterm.
You will learn a lot from her. She knows her materials and makes us easily understand concepts with SAS. Please do not be absent from her class. You will get everything from her lecture. After her lecture, it will be easy for you to understand to read textbook. As long as you do homework and understand the concepts, you will get A on her class.
She's alright. She goes over general concepts and does a problem or two. Exams contain questions very similar to problems in class. Exams are easy but she takes off a lot of points for minor mistakes. No curves are given. Be careful of mistakes.. my grades were 100,90,80(final) and I ended up with a B+. Kinda disappointed.
Horrible professor. Shouldn't be in such a good graduate program. Terrible explanation and no logic at all. What is worse, she is often pissed off by questions from students.
Whatever she taught during the whole semester doesn't relate to the department final. You just have to depend on your blackboard videos for the final. Please don't take her, unless you want to ruin your gpa.She has 0% mercy on her students and always late to the class. No Joke.
She teaches okay i guess. you could probably manage if you tried. Take if you either know the subject or you are willing to bust your ass off on blackboard and webwork going through each problem and finding out the solutions yourself. Best choose another professor if youre one of those that have trouble with math
She's not good at teaching. Very unclear, students get confused.
Sometimes her lectures may get confusing, but if you do some research online you'll understand what's going on. Her tests consists approximately 10 problems and based off of Webwork. She only takes attendance at the beginning of the semester.
terrible professor, I have to lower the rate of this professor so that people can try to avoid her. not helpful and not organized, late often, assign hard hw, and not return your hw in a timely manner, not answer your email, get your final grade out of your surprise
I WISH I had believed the reviews for this professor. DO NOT TAKE IF YOU WANT PASS THE FINAL. You will have to learn everything yourself. If you ask her for help she gives you a nasty look. She looks annoyed all the time. The only good thing I can think of is that she puts up notes online and her notes are color coded.
Received a low overall grade even though I did well on quizzes. Avoid this class if possible if you want to maintain high grade.
Listen to my advice, I went to this class reading bad reviews and thought to myself "Effort is what matters most" That's true, but so does your professor. If you care about your GPA (and therefore, your future),don't take her. The professor adds unnecessary steps to make simple math complicated and is hard to reach.Make the smart move, SKIP
she does not care about how you did on class so that there is no curve on class though you get really low grade on exam.it seems that her responsibility is to teach, however, it turns out that she is not good at teaching.
She gets upset when you ask for help, better off with a tutor dont take this class only good thing takes attendance at the end of class
Material is confusing and requires you to read the text book on your own. She posts all her in-class notes onto BB which is very helpful. Syllabus says grade is 50% on 1 midterm, 30% on final project and 20% on homeworks, but nobody really knows bc hw wasn't assigned and midterm never returned. She gave us 3 days to do the final project.
Contrary to what other say in her ratings, she is a great professor. She might not be as organized in terms of her assignments, midterms, and projects (she didn't collect any homework), but she delivers great lectures that are easy to follow and understand. Would take her again any time!
Worst calculus teacher or teacher for that matter. She is usually late to class and runs through the lecture soon after. She sends blackboard messages at 8:15 - when the class starts - to advise the class that she is stuck in traffic. Very unprofessional, if you ask me.
Secondly, I have never felt so underprepared for an exam in my entire life. Her exams were a total of 10 questions, questions which I guarantee were not practiced in class. Our second exam on logarithms - she was 20 minutes late to class btw - she had to cut in half because she didn't have time to print out the calculator part 6 question exam.
Thirdly, we had to beg her to do a final exam review. Only because its the right thing to do for your students as a professor; math teachers know that final exams are hard so why not offer extra practice? She had to clear her schedule for us for ONE review when she also cancelled class out of hero own convenience 3 times.
Basically, do NOT take this class if you're trying to earn a good grade and or pass the class. This class is a joke. If you're planning on taking this class, your best bet would be to skip the class as she stops taking attendance mid-semester and just attend SACC sessions.
She becomes irate when you ask her to show all of her work for problem solving - she expects you to know how to do the problems already. Not patient, rolls her eyes when questions are asked and she is frequently late. If you fail the final, you fail the class.
If you pay attention in class and copy all the notes while doing the examples she gives you'll be fine. Whenever I ask a question she always stops and go back for me. She does not take attendance and tests are fairly easy. Easy to talk to but could be absentminded sometimes. homework are online and counts, she would push back the due if u ask too.
She sometimes cancelled class minutes before it was supposed to start (I took the class at 7:30am). She goes over things as many times as people ask her too. She posts every single lecture note online. Not too many tests during the semester. Homework is online.
Three in class tests plus the final. Tests get progressively harder, but it will prepare you for the final. All hw is online but she doesn't really care about it. She never takes attendance but it would still be wise to show up so you know what is going on. She's not as bad as her reviews say. Not great either, but definitely not bad.
Easy class. Midterm was really easy and the final was cake. You won't learn much, but it'll be a good GPA booster if you need it.
Three 10 question short answer tests. To be honest, I felt that the final (which is departmental) was a lot easier than her tests, so that could be a positive or a negative depending on how you think about it. As for easiness, if you're good at math, there's no reason you should struggle.
She's alright as a person but her class doesn't not prepare you for the final. All stuff done in class means nothing and your entire grade is based on the final. So homework and test done in class are basically meaningless. Did no calculator work this semester which is half the final
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR... She will ruin your GPA. I am A student in Math classes but this was the class that i was struggling in. Final won't be what you expected. Do easy problem in class but Exam totally different. HW not mandatory but definitely helpful and Extra credit for HW 2 Exam Midterm with 35% and Final with 65%
Honestly, this was the hardest math class I've taken so far. The material is not easy, but the professor really tries her best to explain and be fair with grading. Midterm 35% final 65%. Midterm was straightforward but final was so hard conceptually. I'm pretty sure I did really poorly on the final, but she still ended up giving me a fair grade.
She's direct and gives clear examples to answer your questions. She's pretty organized and has a clear agenda for each class. Plenty of review in class, and will gladly help on WebAssign and will extend date if needed. Great teacher, but if you miss a class you may be slightly confused the next day. Would definitely take again!
Approachable and clear. Focus on the SAMPLE FINALS more than the HW if you have limited time, talk to her and she understands! Work hard on the practice finals and ASK her what you do not understand, SHE IS SUPER NICE! I also took Math 2203 with her. Professor Zamfirescu gets HAPPY is with your SUCCESS. Take her!
Midterm was 35%, final 65%. Both were incredibly easy as we barely learned anything in class. Reading the textbook is enough. I got 100s without studying . Homework was extra credit, but she never said how much extra credit. She reviewed before both tests and tested exactly what she reviewed. Didn't learn much but very easy.
If you are taking any math class, take hers. A very very nice person. High level math classes at Baruch are not easy, she explains slowly to make you easier to understand. Not much HW, relax class but you learn stuff. No matter what class you take with her, mainly focus on the review sheets before exams, they are very similar.
This is my best teacher so far. She teaches really well and is very clear that she wants everyone to understand. Gives a lot of homework on Web assign, but is very useful. I highly recommend her.
Laughs at you if you dare ask a question about steps taken to get answer. No calculator for exams. Each exam has 10 questions. Focus on her reviews before each exam. Hw helps but she doesnt give extra credit and doesnt incorporate hw in final grade.
Calculus is going to be tough no matter what. But this professor does an awesome job at explaining how to solve the problems. You will definitely need to study outside the classroom to make sure you get good grades on the exams. Like I said, Calculus isn't going to be a breeze. But you really can't go wrong with having her as your calc professor!
Awesome professor! Explains everything clearly and thoroughly, answers questions clearly. A lot of homework is assigned all in advance and is due the day before each exam, start it in advance so it doesn't pile up. Overall I loved her class and am very glad I had her as a professor.
Tests are only 10 questions but she reviews and you will know exactly what to study. You must pass the departmental final so she prepares you just for that which is great. You definitely need to study on your own time to pass the final. She wants you to pass, take her!
took her during her first-semester teaching Vector and Multivariable Calculus. She was extremely unprepared and at times struggled to be thorough in her explanation of some of the concepts in the class. All the kids in the class were great at math though so we'd catch on but still was mediocre and unprepared as a professor. 2 exams only.
This professor is caring and is very knowledgeable. However, she doesn't know how to teach and seems very laid back for a Math Professor. One midterm and final SAS project due during finals week. Two extra-credit homework assignments as well. She never gave back the exam nor the assignments so the whole class was very worried about the grades.
You will learn nothing but it is an easy A. Practically no coursework other than a midterm and final project, which in total take like 5 hours.
Great professor, caring and passionate. She breaks down math and makes it easy to understand. No surprises on test, do your homework online and you will be good. She gives clear notes. Highly recommended
Came in and left knowing the same amount of math. Please take advantage of the tutoring at school or you will know nothing.
Take this class for an easy A, if you have the choice between taking her class and taking a class with Tim Ridenour, or anyone else, take her class. That is not because Tim is good, it is because she is amazing, because Tim is not good.
She is an amazing professor. I learned a lot in her class. She knows how to explain math properly If you don't understand she tries to explain it in many different ways. Her class in manly graded on the 3 exams, homework and the final. The final exam grade is 1/3 of the class so to pass her class you have to do good on the final.
I felt like she taught this class thinking everyone had some prior knowledge on it. I struggled a lot because of that. We had 4 exams including the final. Her exams are 10 questions or less and you have to show work for all of them (no multiple choice). Her exams didnt prepare me at all for the department final. The homework was was online.
Giving practice exams before every midterms and final. the real exams are almost same as practice exam. Might not explain things clear, but it's an easy A class, Pretty nice person!
This professor is just one of the best that you can get for pre-calculus and calculus. she simplifies things, her notes are a gem and very helpful
She writes her notes on OneNote and shares them with you. You are graded on the average of 2 exams and 1 final, 5 questions each. She does review before each exam. You can use your own notes for the exams, but don't go on the OneNote during the exams. Most of the exam questions are similar and some are the same as the ones in her notes and review.
She takes the class time lecturing instead of teaching. She assumes we know what shes talking about and doesn't stop for questions.
Mona is really easy to understand. She's is really good at helping you visualize the idea taught in Mathematical Statistics. I think she's a great teacher, and She's caring.
Listen to her lecture, learn how she deal with the problems, and learn how to use SAS. If you follow those, easy A for sure.
This class is the continuation of Probability/Statistics in a more theoretical perspectives. Honestly, it could be a really hard course, but Professor Z. makes it really easy to understand, and to get an A. Pay attention to her notes/lectures and you're golden. Take her!
Hard class, but easy professor. She's nice and easy grader. Polish up your probability and statistics before taking this class to avoid headaches.
The easiest class I have ever taken, but that's only because she makes its simple. I'm always into Data Analysis, but the professor makes it so engaging that I really enjoyed the class. It was fun and interesting working on SAS for the first time. She's nice, lenient n a bit comical. Only a midterm & a final project. Wish she teaches more classes.
Nice professor, she made efforts for us to understand the material and reviewed it with us before the exams. She is a lenient grader, and to be honest, she could have made the class much harder had she wanted to, but she just wants to make sure you understand the bigger picture of the material. A little disorganized but overall a solid choice.
Easy grader, so take her if the opportunity presents itself. Very nice human, but disorganized so don't expect a hasty email response or even a grade on your homework. 3 exams, all with a dedicated review lecture with swapped values. Notes are uploaded and homeworks based on notes, so attendance is pretty much optional. A GPA booster for sure.
AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COST. She is not punctual, she is disorganized, unclear in her teaching and does not communicate or respond to communication and will make it your problem unapologetically, even if it ruins your academic career. Expect no sympathy even if it's her fault. She misses deadlines constantly but will hang you by yours AVOID
Professor Ingrid is very good at teaching. Grading criteria is very clear, 5% HW, 30% Mid-term 1, 30% Mid-term 2 and 35% Final Exam. If you attend class and do all the homeworks, exams will be easy for you. Take her.
2 Midterms(60%),HW(5%),Final(35%). 4130 was Easy A but not 4430, it's 4120 part 2. Unlike 4130, she gave no review for midterms and said the HW would be a good review but it was not helpful. Exams are 5 regular questions & no partial credit. Her lectures were fine and she knows what she is saying but very boring. Attendance required but not graded.
50% midterm+50% take-home project. Midterm review was similar to the exam but with different numbers. The exam was very easy, covered basic stats. Final was a SAS project. You don't have to pay attention in class, just follow the recorded lectures & can complete the project in a few hours. Guidelines were unclear but she was lenient with grading it.
Professor Z. is a caring instructor who makes the material understandable. Attend class, do the homework, and you'll likely earn a good grade. unstuck ai is a helpful study tool alongside the textbook.
This professor seems to care about the students but not the class. She's often late, does not respond to most emails, and even forgot about the midterm on exam day. She is more difficult than her class. Take this professor with caution
Had her for 4130 and 4430. Just attend class and pay attention and it should be an easy A- at least. She makes it very easy.
Easy professor as long as you know what you are listening to. Goes over a bunch of examples that you will use in your final project. Whenever she uses SAS pay attention cause thats the entire project. One midterm, gives out a practice which is the midterm basically. Unclear guidelines even on midterm and project so make sure you overprepare.
