Inna is awesome,she has the entire class on a powerpoint,which means you can print notes from online.Bring them to class and just fill in what ever you need to.She has the class actively involved in little activities.I recommend her if you are really into learning about psych.Get the book, pay attention,show up for tests..and it's a solid A.

This is the second class I have taken from her and as a Professor, she is the greatest. I would take a class from her every semester if I could. She's been very helpful to me and I like her fairness in class. I like using Power Point. I would recommend buying the book and not depending on the on line version.

I really enjoyed this class and found it to be easy and very fun! She makes it interactive and easy to understand. Do all the work, turn it in on time and you should end up with an A, no problem. Don't slack off and you'll get a good grade!

Fabulous teacher! She's very knowledgeable, kind and enthusiastic about what she teaches. Her real life examples (her kids) are wonderful & really helped me to remember & understand the principles she was teaching. Inna's class was probably the funnest class I have ever taken. She fills your time with interacing activities and games to help you remember what you are learning. The test are not difficult, they are exactly what you expect from the class sessions. She made class exciting!

I love her! she uses“clicker” for exams so u know ur score right away, she explains well, her tests are easy IF you read the book. and she has all her notes online and on power point. Class is pretty simple and straight forward. For god's sake people, just review the info given in class and study for the tests. Its not hard whatsoever. She is really clear on what she wants and practically gives answers away on quizzes. Just do the homework, take notes, and understand the material.

It seems like she would make a better Math teacher than a PSYCH teacher. I did not feel that she knew much more about the subject matter than what was in the book. I don't think that she is active in the feild and that is what I was looking for in a teacher. Her politics/opinions were very offensive to me at times.

She is very entertaining in her teaching style. Her class is pretty straight forward and simple. If you like a laugh every now and then take her class!

This teacher is amazing! The first day of class I got a little scared of her, she seemed very intimidating. But after the first week she warmed up. Her russian accent is very strong, but you get used to it. She's fun, very helpful and her quizzes are not hard at all. She wants you to succeed! I enjoy her classes a lot, it's very interesting.

As far as teaching, you won't find a good one like this in a community college. Her class is demanding though,and the weekly quizzes become very annoying. She offers some extra credit though, and drops some low grades. Her exams are not tricky if u study. I would take her class again, but you need to actually study and perpare for it.

Take this class if you want an A for a transfer class. She is really cool, funny, nerdy and pretty laid back. As long as you show up for class, take notes and read the textbook to answer the study guide questions she puts online you will get an A. Her lectures are interesting but don't cover everything so be sure to read the book and study guide.

I'm getting 106% in her Psych 101 class, and trust me, I'm not that smart. All I do is take notes and pay attention to her lectures, I don't even read the book. She's funny and kinda nerdy too. Our homework consisted of "call your mother and ask her at what age did you start walking". If thats considered hard for you, you shouldn't be in college.

One of my top favorites! Very clever,helpful, and humorous. After a few days you get used to the accent!!the weekly quizzes never bothered me because they're tooken with clickers so I just sat next to a smart kid and watched as they clicked away!! VERY ORGANIZED which helps a lot. Being absent can really hurt you though so just show up and have fun

Kanevsky is a good professor. She keeps class discussions intresting and doesnt waste time. She's got a good sense of humor and she's very knowledgable. Dr. Kanevsky is an AMAZING teacher! I really didnt know what to expect upon first coming into her class, but she is really good. She is funny, is very passionate about what she is teaching, and always made class interactive and fun. She is very approachable, and her main concern, is that her students, learn.

I loved this class. It was so easy. Just go everyday, write notes, study them every night. There is a test per week, but if you study, you'll pass. Plus, she lowers what an A grade is on the quiz.

She is SO cool and funny, makes class interesting and interactive. She is always willing to help, she also gives you IMMEDIATE feed back on tests and lets you CHANGE YOUR ANSWERS! The only negative things I got to say is that she has a Russian accent but understandable, and you have to buy a clicker, which is gonna end up being like 30-40 bucks.

She admits that she is disorganized (doesn't reply to emails right away) and I wouldn't recommend taking her online class. She's a great story-teller so you're better off going to her class anyway! Very helpful and fun during class and office hours. I have established a great relationship with her and she's been a sort of mentor for me. Great prof!

Professor Kanevsky teaches like a college professor should; this is not high school. She is clear on what she will teach, what she expects of you, and what it takes to receive a good grade. Her accent is somewhat hard to understand in the beginning, but you get used to it quickly. She has a great sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed her class.

She has a Russian accent but it only took me a day to get used to it. She's a great teacher and I enjoyed her class. She is one of the best professors at Mesa. I had her for two classes and I loved both. She is funny and even though she has an accent, her lectures are clear and interesting. She also plays videos to elaborate on the material. Take her! She is the reason I changed my major!

Apparently her online classes aren't good, but if you are taking a standard, on-campus class, take this lovely woman. She's the best teacher I've ever had. Her class is crazy fun, she's is always engaging and loves her students, and she has this lovely little accent that just adds so much character to the class. Love her so much!

Her accent makes everything more scientific! I love the way she expresses her self, if you love psyc you'll love her. She wants everyone to do well and she loves what she does. Yes she will talk about her family ... but psyc is about living beingfs and even if her example go on for a bit SHE HAS A POINT and it will stick with you if you listen to her. Everyone of her behaviors is proof of what she teaches. LOVE HER

very good teacher! Show up, do the online open book tests (11 of them), there's two exams that you will be given to practice on and one group project. You don't have to read the book even though she says so. Easy A!!

Great teacher and very passionate. Encouraging and works with the students. The whole class ends up participating because she can make it fun. The tests are extremely hard so you need to study.

She has a lot of experience in her field and I felt that she made the class interesting. Definitely read the book and it helped A LOT to have a study group to discuss the concepts and get a better understanding of the topics. I felt like i was really confused at the beginning, but by the end it all clicked.

She's a great professor. When she reads the syllabus to you, she means everything she says on there. You better get ready to read and have time to study. People give her bad ratings, but let's face it we are college students, and if you are looking for an easy class, don't waste your time. If you want to learn something take her class.

I enjoyed this class and learned a lot. I was not surprised by the amount of work necessary, as I had taken Psych 211 with her as well. Reading the book is mandatory and was beyond helpful to my success.

She's an incredibly intelligent person and it shows. She makes harder concept easier to understand by using real life examples. There are a lot of work which means more opportunities to earn points. Quizzes are open note. If you have questions I suggest you see her in her office, she's very easy to talk to. Would definitely take again!

She honestly made me love psychology more than I already did. Just show up, pay attention to the lectures, read the textbook, do all the mindtap mastery trainings/ quizzes (which are basically the questions on the final) and you'll be set. She gives so many extra credit opportunities, and makes the class so entertaining, by far my favorite class.

Inna is awesome, she's a nerd at heart who enjoys inserting clips from Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Monty Python's the Holy Grail into her power point presentations. She's engaging, understanding and gives you the opportunity to conduct your own research. 10/10 would take again.

Dr. Kanevsky is an amazing person and professor. Extremely intelligent and driven, but will put in the genuine effort to help as long as you try hard. Definitely a hard course but entirely manageable with planning, especially READING THE TEXTBOOK AND SYLLABUS. She has high expectations and pushes her students to excel, but will help at every step!

I went in thinking 211 was going to be a piece of cake, but I was wrong. Dr. Kanevsky is a wonderful professor, and the class is hard because of the new concepts taught. My biggest piece of advice is to go to her office hours, she loves when her students really want to understand the material. Overall, a great class, but make sure you put in work.

Amazing professor. Definitely not an easy A but she warns you on the first day of class! Small assignments are given for participation points almost every class so don't expect to get a good grade if you never show up. She always makes class interesting, take her if you actually want to learn the subject !!

She's 100x better than I thought. The more you participate n class you'll learn to love her accent. She's very smart & yes, she'll make you work hard for your grade. Lots of xtra credits & tests r easy, if you study. APA paper is behavior mod so it's easy if you're honest about it. She uses real life examples to make the text easier to understand

She's a really great person and teacher as well. I didn't think her class would be very difficult so i didn't put in enough time and skipped too many classes and now I'm struggling. Only take this class if you're prepared to work & READ the textbook cover to cover. Because reading the textbook is a big part of her class, I wouldn't take her again.

I took Dr. Kanevsky's psych 101 class fall18. She clearly explains the expectations in her syllabus. You will need to read and be an active learner, shocking for college right? But, you will learn a lot from her. You can tell she's very passionate about her work. There are weekly little quizzes based off the reading and one midterm/one final.

I really enjoyed this class. Although its a lot of work because it requires heavy textbook readings, she goes over the material we read during lectures. She's funny and shares her own personal experiences as well. She does give extra credit and many opportunities to receive extra points. Put in the effort and you'll receive the grade.

Dr. Kanevsky always makes class interesting and she always finds ways to connect psychology to events in her personal life. I love hearing her stories about the Soviet Union! There were weekly quizzes based on the extensive reading and the tests were very hard. Although the class was difficult, Dr. Kanevsky made it fun for me and I enjoyed it.

Take Her Class!!! Especially if you are a psych major! She is compassionate, wants you to learn and do well in your field. She made transitioning online smooth and gave extensions on group projects if needed. Easy to talk to, accessible outside of class, and was willing to deviate on time to make sure all students understood the lectures.

Ive taken psyc classes and this was one of my top fav. I love her! shes such a mom as well v funny and cares about her student especially with transitioning to online. she also gave extensions. I learned more from her than other psyc profs I have taken esp from my 101. TAKE HER! many say they can't understand bc accent but I understand clearly.

I learned a lot from Kanevskys behavioral psychology class. While she can be snarky, she is also very insightful and witty. The class load was reasonable and what should be expected but as long as you come to class and turn in your assignments she can give good feedback. I recommend her to anyone majoring in psychology.

I took Dr. Kanevsky in 2018 and then went on to CSUSM. Dr. Kanevsky is the best professor I've ever had and is very clear in her explanations of everything. Because i took her class, I have found mistakes in textbooks and other professors lectures. The material can be confusing so READ THE BOOK and show up to class ready to ask questions.

Dr. Kanevsky is the best Professor Ive ever had, hands down. I passed this class with a 97%, and ultimately decided to pursue Psychology as a career because of her. I absolutely cannot recommend her enough, I wish she taught every psychology course, because I would take her class again and again if I could.

I had Prof. Kanevsky for an in person PSYC 101 course during the fall 2023 semester and her class was among the best academic experiences I've had throughout my entire life. The course was interesting, well paced, and participation is rewarded. The workload is manageable but if you have any questions she is always helpful and thorough.

She completely changed the trajectory of my undergrad. Her lectures are incredible and engaging. A lot of note taking but if you're consistent and do the readings you will do well. Her emphasis is on learning and understanding material rather than memorization. She tells you exactly what she's looking for in HW / on exams so it's easy to get an A

Dr. kanevsky is extremely intelligent and teaches in a way that enhances your critical thinking skills. Her teaching methods are excellent and engaging. Her exams are not easy but are a great experience. Her personality is beyond amazing, and she also cares a lot about her students.

She knows her subject well and tries to tie the lectures to real-world situations. She can take a long time to grade things. Her grading criteria are easy to understand. Be prepared to read; she doesn't use a textbook but attaches a lot of reading to each module, which can be included in the exams. She does have several writing assignments as well.

255 is the second class I have taken with Dr. Kanevsky! She is very passionate and knowledgable in research and I would highly recommend her class especially if you are looking for an honors credit. The opportunities she offers the class are great for those who are looking to transfer to a good school. She has very clear grading criteria.

Prof Kanevsky, is a great instructor who truly wants students to succeed. Her course is heavy around 3 tests but offers a final that can drop lowest score. Make sure to use the textbook she provides since that is helpful for tests. She is very kind and helpful if you approach her after classes. I would say do this rather than email her.

If you have the opportunity to take her class, PLEASE do so! She's passionate about what she teaches and is very clear on how to pass her class. Don't miss lecture, most of the exams are based on in-class notes. I recommend following the module goals since exams are open notes. Such a nice professor, would definitely take again!

she knows her stuff, tells good stories, and is a good teacher. but, dont expect your stuff to get graded. stuff that ive turned in at the beginning of the semester have still not been graded. i think im going to get an A but i dont even know yet. aside from that. she is a bit liberal though which is fine but conservatives beware.

Very informative class with a knowledgeable, approachable, and supportive professor who is often hilarious during lectures. Exams require heavy self-study beyond class materials. Outlines help, extra credit is generous, but Deep Dives receive no feedback, making expectations unclear.
