Good teacher but his tests are hard and difficult. Don't recommend him.
Easy Teacher. Very helpful and Grade fairly
No Comments
He is not very helpful, makes you feel stupid, and doesn't know how to utilize the time given for the class. He is new at teaching the class, maybe he will improve, but I don't recommend him as a teacher if you want to actually be taught something.
Easy to get a B hard to get an A. Definitely recommend him, made the class very easy!
super easy teacher. fun class. always let us out early. tests were multiple choice, quizzez true or false.
He expected way too much for the class time, spent too much time for grammar. His tests are easy, but his grading is all over the place. He called my lazy and unacceptable. I wouln't take him again. He's a drain on my brain!
agree difficult, but fair. Tough class to make fun given topic. But I did learn a lot
never came to class on time>unorganized>provided little or no clarity>insensitive>Quizzes were an easy A>tests were not> beware>overall i would not take another class with this guy>i got an A but it was a drag showing up &waiting for him for ten minutes to start the class
Don't get previous ratings. If he makes you feel like an idiot, you probably are one and should rethink college. Challenging, and his first test is a surprise (hard!) But after that if you put effort in, A/B is no prob. Doesn't baby students, and knows his stuff
Waste of my time. Provided no further information to me. Could have learned more if I taught the class myself. Nice guy, but not good for this class.
Had him for a fieldwork practicum. Incredibly helpful and flexible. Very funny too. He can be challenging, but he knows his stuff and you will learn A LOT.
2 things. 1) I had heard that CAS classes were easy A's and 2) that CAS profs were softies. Wrong on both. As a humanities student, this parenting class was challenging. and this prof was very engaging and stimulating. tough to do for a night class, but i enjoyed it

He is definately not easy. You do have to do the required work. He is very helpful and gave us very useful information. He started me on a great start with the CAS classes. I would definately recommend him.
VERY NICE MAN!~
This professor does a great job explaining all the difficult concepts that you learn about in this class. Breaks everything down and gives you lots of examples that help students understand the subject matter. Always willing to help and responds quickly to emails. Take CAS 301 with this professor if you to take this class.

The class is not esay but he'll make sure that you understand the subject before doing the assignments. I recommend this teacher for all the CAS classes that he teaches. His reponse by email is very constant. He's a GREAT teacher!
This professor is great. I thought that he was going to be boring and hard but in the end he was very clear and made the class interesting. He has very clear ways of teaching the material and i definitely recommend him.
I do not know who these people are talking about! This guy is dry, unclear, and gives you a study guide of all the material. He does not narrow any concepts down to focus on for the test and his midterm is tough! My advice if you want to pass this class DO NOT TAKE this Class with Him!
I would advise that if you are looking for an easy course, DON'T take this professor. He takes forever to grade papers, the midterm and finals reviews are very vague, and there are limited points in the class meaning that if you screw one thing up, everything is bad!
I was disappointed w/ this professor. The positive ratings aren't true. His lectures are dry 90% of the time and he didn't want much input from the class. His study guides are a joke. The midterm and final are vague and usually cover only part of the information even though the study guide says to study EVERYTHING!! Also, he does not grade on a cu
i'm in complete shock reading any review that says anything nice about this "teacher"- it's probably him coming on here to give himself some credit. GRR. he sucks. his lectures are boring and he pretty much just reads his powerpoints which u can get from blackboard. his tests are hard and study guides tell u to study EVERYTHING. jerk
TERRIBLE TEACHER...if you can call him a teacher! He trys to confuse you on the tests, he is not clear at all. There is no way this guy could get good ratings! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this guy at all! BEWARE!!!
didn't seem too friendly at first, but helped me out of a big jam and went out of his way to let me continue with course. you just need to be active and work hard and he appreciates it.
i went to class everyday to his broing ass lectures and then the tests make no sense and everybody in my class pretty much got a d on it, he suxs, he knows way too much and doesn't know how to actually teach what he knows, BEWARE!
wah wah wah.. Fullerton students are such cry babies. Every prof that's tough gets rated low. CAS courses are generally a joke. I've slept through other CAS courses and got Bs. This class demanded more, but I actually learned something useful. The dude has unbelievable knowledge.
Liked him, don't know what the complaints are about. Yeah, people had low percents on midterm, but he curved them, which he announced in class. Learned a ton
Alright. The man uses pwrpnt, so all lectures on off the net. His midterm is tough, he gives you 10 chapters to study, but only uses a few of them. He curved the class at the end. Paper is semi easy, topic is fairly broad. He's kind of an ass, but ignore that. Ask him lots of questions if you're confused.
He was a pretty tough teacher. I thought i was going to have a good time learning about children, but those little suckers are more complicated than you think! It was more like a psych class so if you don't like psych don't take this class especially because this teacher is not easy! he's a cool guy, but you gotta work hard in his class!
Pompous. Teaches because he likes to be on stage pontificating and self-aggrandizing.
Old cliche..but he's tough but fair. Seems really tough because his lectures deliver a lot of content. But...ask him questions, ask for help and he delivers big time. As for seeming pompous, I couldn't disagree more. Informal in class and unlike other CAS instructors we all know, he doesn't insist you call him Dr. this or Prof that in class.
His class is not a piece of cake. You have to do your work and keep up with the reading if you want to get a good grade. I don't think he's as difficult as people make it seem. Just study and try to keep up and you’ll do fine. Besides, if you have any questions he's always willing to help. He also has a great sense of humor and kind of cute ;)
Great writing instructor. made me a much better writer and it showed in the cas courses I took after
I really enjoyed his class. I've taken other courses with this professor and he's pretty consistent in his teaching. He's always well prepared and is always willing to help students. The class is composed of a midterm, paper, quizzes and final. Every class meeting delivers lots of information so I would suggest you attend class.
Be sure to be on his good side, you will get the best grades. Don't upset him because he will have a full temper tantrum. He made the exams really easy this time, but I know that in one intersession class he made them so tricky that in the end he had to help his students pass.
He is a tough teacher but he is well worth taking. Sometimes he can be brutal when grading essays but I noticed a large improvement in my writing ability because of it. He is very approachable and laid back.
Everyone says hes tough, and its true. BUT..compared to previous class in series, actually learned something. laughed a lot too. All in all, not bad for a summer course
He is a really great guy. He knows alot and is very nice. His tests are really easy. Just read the power point slides. But doing the in class assignments will get you an A. I didnt do 3 and now I have a B.
Professor Boutakidis is a highly intelligent articulate individual with extensive knowledge. His effective presentation skills provides consistently excellent service in presenting the course content. The Professor is fair, flexible, and has a great sense of humor. If you miss a lecture, you miss a lot!
There is no text book. Just weekly articles, soem can be up to 20 pages long. You have to write a reflection due every week. There are online quizzes. The is no midterm just a final, if you follow along throughout the semester and actually study you will do fine. I got an A on the final. But a B in the class because of homework, so do it, its easy.
He is a good teacher that lectures straight from powerpoint...quizzes are online and easy...assignments are easy as well...don't really need the book but if you want that A get it and read it because there are def questions on the tests that are only in the book and not lecture.
Gives you a false sense of security in the beginning of the semester. You will be slammed come midterms and beyond with homework. Exams are HARD, few get better than a low C. Doesn't care if you miss a lecture, you are an adult and are treated as such. All lectures are based on power points.
difficult class all together but i liked this teacher. he lectures with a lot of examples that make u rly understand the material. Easy grader, not too many assi, and weekly online quizzes that are 5 ques. The only thing i would say is at the end of the semester got rough with the paper and final, could have prepared us better for the final.
He is a very great teacher to have..he does expect a lot from his students but he is there to help whenever you need it I would recommend this teacher to anyone who wants to learn and be challenged!
Lectures all class. Have some quizzes. One Paper. Mid-term and Final Exam. Nice guy. Relates in class lecture to real life. Don't take the 2 hour and 45 minute class at night.
Do not take this class! I wish I was warned about him a head of time. The syllabus is useless, half the class didn't know what was going on during the middle of the semester. It is the last day of finals and all the people in class have D's. I am warning you. Don't take him!
Bad. Do not take him!
Most boring uninteresting class. The class is hard as well and he is not clear with what he wants. Most of the people have "D's" in class. If you are smart, you should look into taking someone else
Almost as bad as Hobson! Don't take him!
very cool teacher. i took him for cas 300 and cas 340. he is a very easy teacher.
This professor is boring and unclear. The textbook is useless and tests are very difficult. About 7 online quizzes, 2 midterms, (one we took AFTER thanksgiving break!), 1 annotated bib.,1 research paper, 1 oral presentation and 1 final. In general, this class is boring and difficult, but Proffesor Boutakidis makes it almost unbearable. DO NOT TAKE.
This class is hard in general, but Boutakidis makes it unbearable. Several online quizzes, couple hw assignments, 2 midterms(one we didn't take till AFTER thanksgiving break!), 1 oral pres., 2 papers, 1 final. The textbook is USELESS as are his unclear lectures. Tests are very difficult. Positives are he is excellent with e-mails and is a nice guy.
Great teacher, summer class was a breeze hard subj. He would wait until everyone was in class to start a lecture it was good if you were the late student but if you were there since 8a.m it was unfair. 5 online quizzes 1 midterm 1 oral presentation 1 7 page paper and a final.
Best teacher ever, he actually cares about your grades and tries to help you!
CAS340 - With him you'll get an A if you do all work and get good test scores. CAS300 - I took him again in the summer, I DON'T RECOMMEND HIM FOR SUMMER. He grades tough on the research paper, makes the class harder than it should be. Got a B+ in 340 but a C- in 300. He's awesome as a person but grades very tough. If you're lazy, take someone else.
He is an awesome professor. His quizzes are 5 questions, his hw is graded in class and you receive full credit even if all your answers are wrong all you need to do is try. His midterm and final were very straight forward and everything learned during the semester was on the exams. I recommend you take this course with him!
Thoroughly enjoyed this course. He is incredibly helpful and answers any and all questions. The courseload is not too difficult and I feel as though I learned a lot by the end of the semester. Not an easy A, but you will leave feeling like you got your money's worth.
Have to be one of the few CSUF students to have had the same prof across 3 courses. Basically the best prof I've ever had. Worked very hard for my grades, 2 B's and 1 A in 490T. Can seem gruf and unfriendly at times, but he is very supportive if you make the effort and show him you care. Also great shoes.
Good teacher but he's very disorganized with his time. Doesn't follow syllabus. He would tell us that we have homework, but won't post anything. One week, no homework. The next, A LOT. Tests are easy (midterm + final). Didn't know what he expected from me when writing the 5 page essay. Met once a week, so it's important to show up. 5 easy quizzes
Tougher than I thought this class would be, but I did learn a lot, and was even able to apply some of the material directly into my work situation. Not easy, so don't expect a senior "gift" for this course, since its the typically the last one you'll take.
First online course I'd taken at CSUF. But experience was actually good. It was well-organized and responsive. I knew exectly what I needed to get done each week as Prof. B make a clear to-do list at the start of each week.
One of the best online courses I've ever taken. Nothing fancy, but clear, informative, well-organized.
Some of what he said did not match with his quizzes. He is knowledgeable but lacks organization. He seems to be too busy to really be there for the students. He comes in looking good, but seems lazy and laidback. I appreciated that there was no textbook.
really great. A bit intimidating at first, but just about expecting a lot and making it clear that we had to earn our grade, but that he would help as much as he needed to. Small class over summer so it was a unique experience. Prob learned more in this one class than I had the whole previous year.
Some of the material was repeat of other developmental courses, but i was really blown away by the material on ethnic differences and poverty. Have to say that it was the first time that I felt inspired in a class that wasn't a fieldwork practicum. He has a very strong opinion about some stuff and I think that may intimidate some students.
Had to study hard, but got the A. Felt I earned it. Second half of course lectures were fantastic. first half was a LOT of developmental theory.
Very unusual class in that it was a summer session and there were only 7 or 8 students in the class. So lots of material, including homework assignments every week, quizzes, midterm, final, and a final project. It wasn't an "easy A" but lots of opportunities for points. Last 4 lectures on parenting and culture and the role of poverty were great.
Scary prof at first, but very supportive. Knew his stuff. Handled questions well. a LOT of material. You WILL need to study!
It was a subject specific senior seminar---last classes you take before graduating--on culture and ethnicity and adolescent outcomes. Very interesting. Great lectures, very long final paper. Mine ended up being 17 pages. He did review a rough draft, so that helped me a lot. Pretty long oral presentation. No textbook, just research articles.
Not going to lie this class was difficult, but I did learn a lot. His exams are hard but I diff remember the information. Study study and you do fine this guy is great recommend overall
His lectures are very imformative. Take good notes! I studied hard for the midterm and did not do so well. No text book.
Good news is you do not need a textbook. Five quizes, they are multiple choice and only five questions and you have five minutes to take them they are worth 10 pts. A paper which isnt bad if you do the rough draft early he'll give you good feedback. I studied hard for the midterm and still failed more than half of the class did as well.
For 325B all we had was two writing assignments which were one page double spaced, one 5-7 research paper, midterm and final. His exams are fair, the answers are pretty much staring at you in the face. Also had 5 online quizzes at home for five minutes. NO BOOK. Very handsome and very good professor I highly recommend :)
I took him for a 5 week summer course and he was amazing. material was dense but as long as you listen to the PowerPoints and take good notes youll do okay. Consists of 5 quizs, a midterm and final both worth 50 points and a research paper worth 100. Only downside was the lack of direction on the paper. Other than that highly recommend his class
took him as a online/hybrid course, meaning that there were some in-person sessions you had to attend. A LOT of content to cover in a short session (over winter break). But his lectures were incredible and it's clear he knew what he was talking about. There were some crazy questions students asked, but he was really thoughtful about answering
Professor Boutakidis is a nice professor. 340 is all lecture with no book and is based off research facts. A few quizzes and later assignments. Be sure to study everything for exams (2) since he tests on specifics (numbers). But if you show up, take good notes, and study well, you'll do fine. He is very accomodating in assigments and stuff.
I took the hybrid class for 325B. Not much homework two assignments and one paper that was not too long. However, this professor is not specific on anything the tests and quizzes will be on so make sure you study all the content. Very tough course for adolescent studies.
Great class. Took attendance. The subject is a fun subject. I took his class after having to withdraw from the same course last year with a different instructor. This was better. More interesting, more engaging. Probably should have had an A, but didn't study enough for the midterm.
Prof B was one of the best professors I've ever had, but didn't like the hybrid format (some class meetings, but mostly online). I thought I would like it better than full online, but for me, in-person classes are better even with some meetings, it was sometimes hard to manage the online work. I did learn a lot and I did get an A, so there's tha
He is the best professor! You would think CAS 300 is a hard class, but with him its definitely not at all! Its an easy class! There is barely any homework. His tests are easy if you attend lectures and study notes. Take him!
A lot of the course material is either outdated or not specific enough or assignments. When looking back at the assignment descriptions if I forgot details about the assignment from the lecture, there would not be enough information to explain how to even do it. Some feedback comments are unnecessarily rude and non-constructive.
Comments on assignments are VERY rude. Feels more like he's insulting your work as appose to giving constructive criticism. I Don't even feel the need to mention the content of the class or assignments because the way he makes students feel with his comments is enough to want to stay away. Mental health is important and he does not help with that.
This is this worst prof I've ever had. He leaves very rude comments on assignments that are not helpful. Almost as if he's trying to make us feel dumb for making mistakes on our assignments. He seems way too busy with outside activities (which he has mentioned) to care about his class. I think he grades while tired or in a bad mood. No excuse!
He is a great professor and the class was pretty easy as long as you complete the needed assignments.
Worst Professor I've ever had. He's so rude and I left class feeling down about myself and feeling bad for others because of how disrespectful and rude he is. I made a simple error when researching an article and he shared it with the class saying it "makes no sense why you would do this". Do NOT take!
The exam is really hard. The quiz has 5 questions, but only 5 minutes, no time to think at all.
Took the class during winter, and there was a lot of work, but I enjoyed it. Not an easy A, but if you listen to all the PP & take good notes, you'll pass. He seems like he knows his stuff and sets the bar high for students. There were weekly quizzes, midterm, final, and one 5-7 page paper. Would definitely take his class again cuz I learned a ton
I took this class over winter break, so there was a ton of work in a short period. His lectures are prerecorded and he goes into great detail about the subject and he's pretty funny, too. His tests weren't too hard and he is a fair grader. I learned a TON in the class and would def recommend it.
Lectures are prerecorded and they drag on from time to time, only 2 assignments, 5 quizzes, a paper, and midterm/final very spread out through the semester, due date times are weird, will change them if enough students ask.
Lectures were narrated powerpoints, and they dragged. I wonder why he didn't have a video format where you could speed up lectures. Quizzes and exams were lecture-heavy, but you could get a decent grade with enough effort. Professor had some technical difficulties, and dates were moved around a lot. He did offer another chance for the midterm.
Professor Iokaim is a great professor. He is clear about his expectations for the class and assignments. He only has a few quizzes throughout the semester, a midterm and final, and a few other fairly simple assignments. His class is very lecture heavy and if you want to have a good grasp of the material; it is important to show up to class.
His lectures were prerecorded and dragged on, only graded on few things. Both test and midterm were lecture heavy. And beware he takes over a month to grade final paper. Also doesnt follow the syllabus due dates.
Took him for a Winter session course so very fast paced and had to stay on top of things. A bit shocked with my midterm score, but followed his advice and did much better on the final. There was a medium length paper. It took a while to get it back, but got a ton more useful feedback than I've gotten in pretty much any class up till now.
To be honest, I'm guessing a bit on my grade, but I unless bomb the final paper, I think I'm getting an A. I've never had a professor who would take one idea or discuss one study and then expand it to a universe of related ideas and things the way he does.
It's a complicated class in that the topic itself requires you to really think through lots of processes and theories. Also the midterm was tough. I've done well on everything else so I think I'm going to get a B. He is also by far the smartest professor I've ever had. When he digs into something, its like I'm learning more than I ever have
Overall, it was a tough class. I'm a A/B students and this was the only class I got a B in this semester. But I learned a lot, including new ways of thinking about some issues I thought I had made my mind on. Some delays in grading assignments, but whenever I emailed him with questions, I got a response back in a day or two. NO textbook=great.
Things were not looking good after the first midterm--hardest midterm I'ave ever taken. I got like a C- on that. But did much better on the final exam, which was similar format with multiple choice and short essay, and just got my final paper project score and it looks like I got an A!!! Yay! He's a bit intimidiating, but knows his stuff.
This class was pretty hard, it was based on just quizzes and 2 exams, plus the paper. Although the quizzes and exams are challenging, you have to study to get a decent grade. I didn't think this class would be so hard and lecture-heavy, it's the first class I didn't do so great on, or pass. I wouldn't retake a class with him.
Hardest class I took before graduating, although I've gotten lower grades in other classes. i bombed the midterm-I think most of the class did, and that concerned me, but did much better on the final exam and the final paper. FYI, one of the few final exams that had a mix of multiple choice and short essay ive taken
Not sure if this class represents what's like to take Prof B in other classes because this was a super-short winter session course (basically 4 weeks). At that pace, everything feels like it's coming all at once. There were weekly live Zoom sessions, everthing else was on Canvas. I learned a lot, felt like I earned what I got.
Felt like a lot of HW for GE class (quizzes, 5 or 6 assignments, final project, midterm, final exam) but there were days when the class was a blast. Good material, relevant, and good class discussions. I enjoyed it actually, which is not something I thought I'd say for A GE
just finished Dr. Bs online 325B. This was my second summer session in the major and this one was better. Much more engaging online content. More interactive. Had weekly live Zoom meetings, but even the assignment and the discusisons were more interesting. I searched him online and he is someone well known in the subject and it showed.
To start...I don't like summer session courses. Too much stuff in too little time, but needed it for prereqs this Fall to graduate. But as for as online classes go, this was a very good one
One of the better online classes I've taken here. Needed a fully online summer course as I'm in AZ, and this fit the bill. Much more interactive and engaging than other fully online courses I've taken.
I had heard Dr. B was a very hard grader. I think it was tough, but if you study and complete all of the assignments, a B or A is definitely in reach. Online assignments were actually engaging and he met with us all each week live on Zoom---unlike some other fully online courses I've had.
Not a huge fan of fully online classes, but this one wasn't bad. Felt I earned the B. Missed taking two quizzes, and that probly cost me the A.
Good. well-organized. thought grade was fair.
This was a tough class, but not sure if that was because I took it during the summer so everthing was jammed into 4 weeks instead of 16. Only choice I had since I am in Utah with family and needed it to graduate. I worked really hard and got the A, but it was a lot of studying.
Engaging online content with interactive Zoom meetings. Leveraged Unstuck ai alongside the free textbook for effective study prep. Challenging but fair grading, learned a ton in this class.
The only in-person class I took this semester and I'm glad I did. I had forgotten what a pure in-person experience was like. I will say that enrollment was super low. We only had 5-7 students in each section and I think there were only 7 or 8 total enrolled
Fully online class. Not the class I wanted as I heard that he is a tough grader, but the other section wasn't available. But it was good. Some really interesting assignments that were actually fun to do.
I don't know my grade yet, but the SOQ window is now open and figured I'd do it now before I forget. It was good. Not a big fan of fully online courses, but needed this one now to graduate by end of spring.
great professor. online course was structured extremely well, professor was attentive and had great communication skills with updates and upcoming assignments. lectures were actually interesting and assignments reflected lectures well.
