can't teach; very low class averages; doesn't care about students
Very nice, neat notes given in class.
always late. sometimes absent. meticulously demonstrates calculating average

Great prof, and HE DOES CARE ABOUT HIS STUDENTS UNDERSTANDING MATERIAL!!

Very clear and neat notes. offers help classes. tough course taught well
Good teacher, wish he came to class ontime more often, is this ok? hehe
very clear notes, occasionally humourous
Doesn't actually teach you anything, you are on your own in this class
v. easy couse. he is a good prof. yes, it is ok (heh heh)
Very clear lectures, fantastic notes. Approachable, & very helpful. Awesome!

Good professor, you should show your abilitly to pass his class.
good guy, but needs to work on punctuality, yes it is okay so stop asking!!!
This prof makes sure that everything is OK but the final is extremely hard compared to in class!!
who sane?????????????????????????????????????????????????&#
Absolutely no sense of humor, and a very thick accent. He spends the first 10 min of every class erasing the chalkboard during the class. you'll find yourself counting how many times he says "is this ok?" (aprox10/class)and "right"
He says "ok?" or "is this ok?" after nearly every sentence. Even in the middle of his sentences. Yes, it's ok! And when he erases the chalkboard, it looks like he's trying to fly. Good guy though, he teaches well.

extremly boring. is this ok.
He writes notes on the board...Provides lots of help. Yet I found his tests had nothing to do with what he taught us.. I did great on the assignments...but sucked on the exams!!! Make sure you do your reading! Still...very nice guy.
He is an ok prof, not good, not bad, but its worth the cost of tuition just to watch him clean the board. He pumps both arms although he has a chalk brush in one hand
He was very unclear, the marker and him werent consistent. He went around in cirlces and his notes were not easy to follow
he's... uhh nice and he's a good guy...he tought me alot and helped me to reach my goal in life, to be a mathematician....lol ok...it was to be a math teacher in New Orleans....
He is very unclear. His tests are IMPOSSIBLE. Says he makes them super hard so we can do good on the final, but what good is that when EVERYONE fails his midterms. He needs to make tests easier so we can at least go into the final with a 60.
excellent professor and very helpful
Excellent teacher. bst math prof I've had. Always willing to help you out, and tries to find ways to help his students out on exam preparation. Would take a class again from him in a second. Make sure you attend class though, because tests are tough
Iqbal is GREAT!!! His notes are very helpful and so is he, he is also very accomodating to you if you can't make it to a class/exam. Math 111 is hard though, so MEMORIZE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. memorizationis definately the key.
Very easy to follow. Midterms a little tuff but always there to prepare you for the tests. I would take another course from him.
Alright teacher, hard tests, but CONSTANTLY says "right", and "is this ok?". It was sooooo distracting and annoying. We counted and in 45 min of class, he said "right" over 300 times! Ahhhh
ok prof
He is a great math professor. He is willing to help his students whenever they need it and he makes sure that they understand the important concepts. I highly recommend him for any math class. He's very friendly and easy to approach.
IQBAL is a great man. Super tough prof. Throws everything at you. Tests are tough and even the assignments are pretty crazy. If you don't mind working hard and paying attension then you should do fine...and better yet - leave with a mastery of the subject.
Awesome math prof, very clear, calculated and uses a ton of examples. Definetely one of the best that the U of R has to offer... right! is this ok? Rock on Iqbal.
Great prof. Knows what he's talking about and knows how to make it clear to his students. If you have a choice, pick him.
Iqbal is a machine in the classroom, he doesnt stop until you know as much as possible. He guaranteed made the material as easy to learn as possible. I would defintely love to take another one of his classes in the future.
Amazing prof. I really do not like math, especially at 8:30 in the morning, but he makes it easy to learn and understand. Although he does say "is this ok" and "right" alot, i'd still take another class from him.
He's fine if you know what you're doing. He seems to think we're all math geniuses. That's why some of us are in this class BECAUSE WE'RE NOT! That's why this class is for people with an average of 50 IN PREVIOUS MATH CLASSES. And he doesn't explain things which makes it so hard for us who are taking this class b/c we have to.
this guy sucks
If you are in his class, get out now. Sure, he seems great at first but just wait until the midterms. Have fun with that. I think it says something not so good about the prof when the class average of the midterm is 21/40 and half the class is failing the class.
His class is alright but does not give examples that are equivalent level to the questions in exams. Examples are easy. Tests very hard.
He goes really slow which is nice, but he seems sometimes to not have an idea on what he is doing. He is very confusing lots of the time, and many times I had to go back and re-do examples he had given us because the first time they had been wrong. He teaches like his students are really dumb.
Iqbal is ok, however I do agree with other people that say the examples are easy , and then the tests and assignments are hard. He also confuses himself on the board and when the professor is confused, then the students are confused in turn. He is very available for extra help if needed.
The assignments were very hard and the marking was unbelievable. He kind of thinks that everyone knows what there talking about. He speaks really clear so its easy to understand what he is saying. The material in lectures is always basic while the material on the test is really advanced.
Excellent lecturer. Goes through the material clearly and at a good pace. Assignments little tough but very good practice. Do and understand the assignments and this class is a breeze. Prof is very knowledgeable and helpful. Taking future math courses from him when possible.
I had heard that Iqbal was a good Math prof so I was excited to have him for Stats. However he is an idiot when it comes to statistics, he never understood a single question the students posed. His tests were unfairly graded and he never gives marks where they are do. He still doesnt understand why 40% fo the class is failing a SUPPOSEDLY EASY CLASS!
he's alright i guess. He gives really stupid prooving questions which is absolutely useless for anyone taking engineering... they need this class to learn how to solve engineering problems, not english problems. he's a really nice helpful guy though, he does know what he is talking about.
Yikes. Of four people I knew in the class I'm the only one who didn't drop it.. and I ended up failing. If you don't exceed in math, take it from someone else.
Terrible professor. Seems good at first, but his midterms are very unfair. He likes to fail students, our class has a failing average and he doesn't teach you anything related to the assignment questions. Save your money and teach yourself. Acts stupid when the students ask him why he made the midterm so hard.
His lectures are very clear and easy to understand. Overall he is a great teacher in the classroom. Tests and Assignments are unfair and alot more difficult than the examples he gives in class. If you struggle with Math i would recommend taking it from somebody else
The man knows math, but he did not treat our class like it was a 100 level class. He kept telling us we should remember things from math 110, and others. But there is no university prerequisit for the class. He asked if everybody had taking calculus, and about half the class hadn't, so he said he woudl not teach it ... but he ended up teaching it
Congenial person. However, texts/lectures/assignments/exams have little in common. To do well in this class, you need to teach yourself.
I have to agree with the others on the point that there is no correlation between the assignments and what is covered in class. In class, it seems like a piece of cake. But the midterm and assignments are totally different. He cares about the students, give him that. He confuses himself constantly which won't help. Take it from Andrei Volodin.
Is this ok? Is this ok? NO, NO, IT'S NOT OK! Nice man, not very confident of material. Moves through material fast, brutal final, assignments not correlated to what's done in class.
He teaches stats better than he teaches math.
Midterm and Final Class average failing. Its not bad considering the class average was a 60 with a 10 mark upgrade to that. So all in all, maybe he can prove this. Its suppost to be MATH not a THESIS paper.
Very nice, compassionate man. Tests and assignments are tough, however the final is common and the preparation is very rewarding. Recomended
Good Prof. Patient, clear in teaching and very organized in teaching sequent. Fair exams and assignment questions.
Nice guy, but this class is supposed to slow down Calc. for people who hadn't done math in a while. Not so good when the averages for both midterms were failing!
really nice guy...very patient and really loves to help his students. the assignments are a bit tough but the exams and finals aren't bad. All you have to go is take decent notes and go to class and you'll do fine
awesome prof, really enjoyed his class!!! I have never had a better math prof in my LIFE!! i would definately take another class from him, no questions
very organized and helpful but assignments are on material not covered. class avg on both 104/105 midterms was 35% so he gave a 100% final, good news for those failing, could be good for those with a good mark i guess, but all in all, not easier than 110. not worth wasting a semester for 104 with no credit.
His lectures are good. But his assignments/exams are very confusing on what he is even asking. I understand the subject fine, but he will try to trick you with use of different terms. AVOID!!!
he is good in teaching, explains very well. But when it comes to marking, he is dam hard. The class avg in final was only 63% and in the 2nd midterm avg was 50%... he is good in teaching but dam hard in marking..
Don´t take 122 from this guy.
Like someone else said don´t take 122 from him. Looking back the assignments were pretty useless and didn´t help very much for the mid terms or final as half of them were about proofs.
VERY NICE,VERY HELPFUL. how ever hard marker. very good about pushing assignments back. hes a tough marker and expects alot, but he will help if u ask. REVIEW all assignments with him before handing in. he points out mistakes, i usually had to redo assignment. overall, if u work hard, you will do decent
Thought I understood what I was doing, got to the exam, NOTHING like assignments or examples done in class. By the time I left about 5 minutes before time was up, almost the entire stats class was still sitting there, stupefied. DO NOT TAKE STATS FROM THIS GUY.
Went into his final with a 96 percent, studied for at least 6 or 7 hours, and still didn't finish the final or think I passed. Nothing like his class, very unfair. Also made a lot of mistakes in his notes including in formulas given to us in class which screwed some people up on the first midterm. Biggest complaint: no prep for a really hard final.
As stated by the other two people in my class THIS WAS THE HARDEST FINAL EVER. Bad final, bad teacher, bad class.
shows in class the easiest examples, then gives the hardest on tests. Makes mistakes all the time. He has very neat writing. for the first midterm he said 3 people of the class passed. BAD But cute man
Incredible professor. Seriously, I have never had anyone teach me math this well. Explains concepts clearly, uses lots of examples. If you have the opportunity to take a math class from Dr. Husain, don't pass it up!
A nice man and everything but for someone who was lookin for an intro to university after comin right out of highschool calculus I should have gotten a way better mark. He did easy examples and then everything on tests would be hard and lots of trig functions. Also very boring and dragged on while at the same time quickly moving through material.
Like said below, had the simplest examples in class and followed them up with hard assignement, ridiculous midterms, and an impossible final. He lets the curve do the grading.
Unclear, straight-forward teacher. Class is the same everyday, as he goes over a new unit every class. Attendance is crucial to passing. Tests are very hard, the midterm average in our class was below 50%. He uses simple examples in class but then strikes you with impossible questions on the tests. Final was hard. Textbook wasnt cracked open once.
This prof is uncleared for tests and quizzes, can't pass the class you don't spend more hours to work on something extra, something that you are not expect to see in the quiz (I even don't know what it is). very limited time to write your quizzes and tests. assignments are uncleared but so much easier compare to the tests, notes are not much used.
He is a great prof. He does a lot of examples in class and clearly explains them multiple times. You must do your homework if you want to pass. His mid-term was very fair (questions were all like examples), yet the class average was 49%. If you do homework and pay attention in class you will do fine. Gives handouts, don't need text book.
Wanted to fall asleep almost every class. I taught myself more at home than I did when I attended. He makes a lot of mistakes when teaching AND marking which is frustrating cause you have no idea what's right and wrong. He is not clear with his work and makes stats 100 a difficult class when the material is extremely easy. Would not take again.

Notes and lectures do not teach a lot. Can easily pass class by just doing assignments.
He makes the class example easy and the exams extremely challenging. It's like as if he is testing all the math knowledge, just not the specifics of the class. Very boring and dry....
tough marker, his test is much easier than quiz.
Dr. Iqbal explains the materials very well in the class, and expects his students to know them very well too. His quizzes are incredibly tough. Overall, if you review the stuff you learned in the class, I think you'll do fine.
The assignments, although not worth marks, are basically required for a pass. The quizzes are harder than the midterms and, for certain questions, the final, which should not be the case. Although the lectures did play their role, it wasn't enough and required thorough work that was not worthy of marks. If you have the chance, DO NOT take him.
Dr Husain is a nice guy, but makes this course challenging. He teaches easy examples to the class & gives easy questions on the practice assignments, then on the quizzes & midterms makes the questions very difficult. It is unfair for students with only having 20 minutes to write the quizzes when the questions are so difficult. The final was so hard
Lectures were super boring and he had to rush through the last 2 chapters and skipped lots of examples which really screwed us for the final exam (that was taken by all math 110 students). The quizzes were harder than they needed to be, midterms were fair, and final was so hard (some questions we didn't learn how to do in class). Nice guy though.
Iqbal was a good prof, make sure you understand all the practice problems provided in UR Courses and you'll do fine.
Overall nice guy who's always available to help you if you need it. Tests are kinda hard, quizzes were much easier. If you don't pay attention you won't pass.
He is the worst statistic professor I have ever had. The lectures are full of long paragraphs of words, very little calculation examples given on each topics but followed with wrong formulas or answers & I know lots of people get messed up when trying to study for finals. Definitely not recommended for anyone who are wishing to pass this class.
This professor definitely knows math but he is super monotone and quiet. Extremely hard to hear him when you are just sitting in the middle of the room. Goes thru topics and examples pretty quick and only pauses to ask "is this Ok" after he is already moved on. His tests and quizes are MUCH harder than his examples. He seems really nice tho.
Boring ang monotone. Always asks, is this okay -.-
He is so vague on what will be on the quizzes and midterms etc... then you get the test and its a giant what the f is going on. He's so scatter brained and does everything the hardest way possible I couldn't even tell you how he gets half his answers or what I did wrong on his midterms and quizzes. His class is pretty useless i taught myself.
The professor is very good.
Prof. Iqbal is good but can sometimes be confusing. MATH 110 is an easy class if you focus and practice well. Mainly asks from the notes which he makes us write in the class.
If you have a strong understanding of statistics (the equivalent of foundations in high school), then you will be okay taking Iqbal. However, if you struggle with math, I would recommend a different Stat prof. Iqbal does not explain concepts well, he assumes that first year students know more than the basics. His accent can be tricky to understand.
For a math prof teaching at a distance he did great. Offered to drop worst midterm and assignment mark which made writing final optional. Lectures were kinda confusing but he goes slow and likes to answer any questions. His online assignments are really hard but if you do all the questions he assigns you will do well in the class
He never replies emails and he isnt accessible outside class. His tests are always heavy and he tells you otherwise. I wouldnt recommend him to anyone.
Worst Mathematics teacher ever, period. He is a nice person but is severely unhelpful, gives assignments that have little to do with what he taught in class and refuses to give us any chance of passing his class, let alone learning anything. He rushes everything and doesn’t clearly explain the subjects. I strongly recommend not taking his class.
His lectures may be the most boring thing I've done in my life. He talks very quietly and is very difficult to understand at times, he will ask "is this okay" and instantly move on without time for anyone to ask a question. He is great when questions do get asked, it's just a matter of being able to. Be prepared to reteach yourself everything.
Not too helpful during office hours. 1st midterm is easy (5 questions). 2nd midterm is hard (7 qs). Final was 17 pages, and impossible. No one finished in 3 hours and he gave extra time. Assigns at least one Webwork a week..tough questions (not like exams or lectures). Midterms are like textbook questions. He stopped doing examples for last unit?
tests were about average except for the second midterm. I don't understand why he makes the second midterm impossible but it is. Besides that, he's pretty dry and just a below average teacher.
He is good at explaining the general concepts of the course. The quizzes and final were rather easy but the midterms (specifically the second) were very hard to pass. The class average for them were very low and it seemed like the questions asked on the second one was from material we were not taught (couldn't find in the textbook provided either).
The great Professor with moral support in terms of education and I will be taking his class in Fall 2024 which is Math 122. If you read well and do the things correctly your marks are not going anywhere from your hand. Frankly, Its only 20 percent professor hard work behind you else its you who have to go 80 percent far away for achievement.
Dr. Husain is very patient calm and clear. Not much more you can ask for in a math professor.
Don't take math classes with him
Decent teacher and person.
Professor Iqbal is hit-or-miss - lectures can be dry, but the material itself is manageable if you stay on top of practice problems. The quizzes are tough, so use Unstuck ai and the free textbook to supplement.
By far the worst professor I've had. Never replies to emails, teaches only the basics in class, but makes exams extremely difficult and unrelated to the material. You won't get a chance to ask questions — he just says “is that okay?” and moves on. If you value your time, money, and GPA, avoid this course at all costs.
Not the best not the worst. His lecutres are very dry, and midterms are difficult. Final was very simliar to midterms and quizzes. He cares about his students, and is okay at explaning concepts.
Do not take math classes with this prof. Examples in class and practice questions are completely unrelated to all quiz/test questions, and the tests are way harder than anything covered in class. During lectures he just runs through examples with little explanation. He seems very caring and sweet, but stay away if you want a good mark.
Quizzes were a little difficult but midterms were hard. Will give you grades for the steps in your solution if right but still do not take this course with him if you are not gonna study properly and attend his classes.
