She is a very nice lady who is willing to help. She gives you the notes for each chapter plus she gives you extra credit. To get a good grade you need to do h/w because there are multiple quizzes. all in all she is one of the best math teachers i've had.

I do not like her teaching style. She doesn't always understand the questions people are asking so she spends a lot of time on explaining things that seems irrelevant. She is VERY helpful if you go to her with questions or problems.

She is just an okay teacher but definitely very helpful. There's a lot of homework. There are a lot of quizzes and tests, but she does let you use notes on most of them.

This teacher is very anal!!! She also doesnt seem to like girls. Her teaching style is great, there is a lot of homework quizes and class work, but they are easy. On exams she gives partial credit even if you get in wrong and tried. Nice if you need help.

A challenging class!! Make sure to come to EVERY lecture, cause she hands out 5pt classworks every lecture. She also gives about 40pts extra credit. Her tests are tricky and so is her final. Shes very helpful outside of class though. I learned a lot.

She is very thorough in explaining how to do statistics. She makes sure everyone understands before she moves on, which is great. She is a great teacher. There is kind of a lot of homework and quizzes but they prepare you for tests.

SUPERB!!! Stats and calc are not easy subjects to beging with, but with her she makes it really easy! Take her and if you're willing to give at least half of youself in doing some of the work, then you will pass or maybe get even an A!

No-nonsense teacher. Classes are structured and every minute is put to use. She is patient and fair and lets you do extra credit computer work. She makes her self available for extra help. I highly recommend her!!

Lets you use notes on every quiz and test. Prepares notes for you. Very easy... I never studied and I got an A.

Took class online. Online you need to be able to figure things out for yourself for most part because communication is slow at times. helpful and understands this isn't easy class. allowed cheat sheets for oncampus exams. Use previous exams on webpage to study for oncampus exams, are Very similar.

Easy class for anyone who is comfortable with math and can learn by themselves. Teacher was great whenever needed. Participate and don't fall behind and all will go well.

Easy to get an A on online tests and homework, and if you study those it is easy to get an a in the class. I'd take another one of her classes.

Standard class, homework but not too much, 3 tests, 1 final, and a quiz about every other week. She doesn't have the highest voice but other than that shes a great teacher and gives a fair amount of extra credit, just make sure you show up she doesn't like tardy or absent people

What an excellent teacher. Very thorough and clear speaking. Took this class over summer and got a B. If you understand the homework you will do good on the tests....there are no surprises. But you must know your stuff. Your points in class add up to what they add up to, she will cut you no slack.

Prof. Palacios was very good at teaching her class... I'm assuming I would've done better in her class if I just would've applied myself more!

Took online class - lot more work than attending a class, but allows scheduling flexibility. Very helpful instructor; always answers students questions and provides examples. Allowed to use some notes for tests and provides test samples. Very good online course, but be prepared to work hard!

Great teacher took online, and was very helpful and responsive in emailing me back, whenever I had questions. She also gave 100 extra creat points for the online class. Homework was fairly easy and you can do it as many times as needed to get an A+. My 3 on campus tests were C average and I still manage to pull a B out of the class.

If you are looking for an easy teacher - she's not it. If you want to actually learn something and be prepared for calc II then take her class. She expects you to turn in ALL your homework - She makes you work but is always available for questions during office hours.

She is very helpful. You just need to go to class and keep studying..AND ASK QUESTIONS! I didn't do that, and I got a C, when if I had, I probably would have gotten an A. She wants you to do well, she's on your side. Plus she's absolutely adorable.

Irene is a great teacher. Unlike Gordon who wants to rip you apart, Irene is nice and helpful. I highly recommend her to those who don't like Math,she's always willing to sit down and go over the problems. Just show up and if you get lost don't discourage, just ask questions.

I took this class online and really liked it. It wasn't easy, but she let us use notes on the mid-term and finals. If you put effort into your notes, you'll get an A for sure. I didn't even completely understand Stats, but I got an 96% in the class. I'd recommend her for sure.

Yes, she's helpful and great. But there are always lazy students out there who want to whine and complain about everything. Irene is great. She's helpful and almost spoon fed her students with materials. I took Stat w/ another prof. and dropped but got an A with Irene. If you show up and pay attention and ask Q you'll do fine.

I would recommend going to class everyday. She gives quizzes almost everyday. Make sure you do your homework before the quizzes because the questions come directly from your homework. I don't know what the those ppl that posted the last 2 reviews got in her class, but I got a B. And no her class is not hard. There's a lot of work but it only gives you more than enough practice for the exams. The Final was cake too. She seriously spoon-feeds you with notes and reviews.

Excellent teacher. Took a hybrid class. Her explanations are painfully thorough. Very available for assistance. Provided all material needed. Homework provided all the practice needed to do well on tests.

I took the online class. I blew it in the midterm because the problems were not the same as in the homework and quizes. It was my fault -I didn't know of the practice exams on the website I should have studied. Even though I did great on the homework and quizes, I dropped because the midterm was so heavily weighted I didn't have a hope of passing.

Absolutely the best math teacher I've ever had in my life so far. She makes everything looks easy and simple. Her class does require a good amount of work. quizes and online homework after each section. 4 tests + final, textbook homework was optional. She explains things clearly, although she has a tendency to rush. She is helpful in explaining things. She seemed overworked, and there were often delays in getting our grades back.

Professor Palacios was awesome. She does take attendance and has a seating chart, which isn't something I like, but it helped with my motivation to get a good grade in the class. I'm horrible with math and she made the lessons easy to understand and follow. Very, VERY helpful when you ASK for help.

I was spoiled with Palacios! She gives handouts, and goes over every single question step by step. So easy to understand and very helpful when you need it! I felt extremely prepared for my next math class. Also, she uses the program "MyMathLab" which will correct you and walk you through problems if you get them wrong! Wish she taught higher math!

Relatively easy class as long as you are consistent with homework and online quizzes. Prof. Palacios is clear as to what she expects on both tests and labs and is more than happy to offer extra help, if needed. Extra credit with each chapter, 4 tests, and a final.

Professor is very helpful. However, misses a lot of class and leaves you with bunk subs. All homework, quizzes, and statcrunches are ONLINE. Makes it very difficult when you don't have internet. Last time I checked I didn't sign up for an online class. Wish class was a little more hands on.

This was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken in my college career. Palacios did help me get through it, but I had to put in many hours to get a C. Math has never come easy to me and this class was no exception. Quizes, online hw, and tests is what your grade will depend on. She offered extra credit and that saved me. I do recommend Irene.

Irene Palacios is very clear about what she expects from her students. She is a tough teacher, but her teaching style works really well. She gives a lot of homework, but it is definitely doable, and I don't think I could have passed statistics without her.

What a wonderful teacher. Always there to help you. Class assignments are very clear and so are her exams. Partial credit is given. Practice exams are very much like the real exams. Makes math so much fun that what it is!! highly suggested.

Her class was fairly easy. It is a must to attend all of the online lectures to pass the class. Her lectures go over the chapters very clearly which helps you do the homework, take online quizzes and tests. There is extra credit, which is either a quiz or a test on a chapter. I am not a math person in the slightest bit so having a thorough math teacher makes a difference for me. Palacios uses the online math lab which I personally like because you have unlimited opportunities to receive a 100% on hw and a few tries on quizzes. She does give extra credit as well. Her lectures are clear and always willing to answer ?'s.

I hate math usually. I took this class online and I found it very easy. This was the first time I have received an A in a math class in a long time. She is fair and gives you unlimited try to get a 100% on homework, extra credit, and 5 try on each quiz to improve your grade. Excellent class!

Palacios is a good teacher considering how tough statistics can be. My favorite part about the class is having unlimited tries on the homework since they're online (a guarenteed 100%). The tests are a huge part of your grade and they are really difficult so make sure you study.

Class was tough, spent a lot of time working for a good grade. She was informative and kept the class mostly engaged. Would take again for another math class and probably the best option for Stats. Tests make up a large part of grade, but with extra credit and infinite attempts means you have a chance. Would reccomend.

To take her class over the Summer, you have to take the time to watch her online lectures and practice the homework with unlimited tries. The quizzes are doable as long as you practice the homework, and she allows extra credit if you take the tests as well. You're allowed one page of notes front and back on the final and the midterm. Overall, take.

Took this class for summer. Everyday homework is assigned. Lectures are about 2 hours long. Extra credit is given and very helpful since the Midterm & Final are worth 500 points! You are able to use a Cheat Sheet (notes on 1 paper, double sided) during the exams. Very fast pace and time consuming. Make sure not to slack off.

Only take online if you are organized and able to work ahead. Assignments posted early, thank goodness, because they require a lot of time. Not a class for slackers, genuine effort required.

Best math professor I've had so far! She gives you the notes and walks you through everything. The material is a bit tough and just requires a little effort to learn. I took the summer online class and it was a lot of work. The lectures are long, but they do help when it comes to understanding the material. You have to do all work to understand and pass the class. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities. This professor also answers questions quickly. I would take this professor again!

I took this class online in the summer. It was very fast paced and I really had to work for the grade I received. Since it was an online class, the video lectures were very long but you really need to pay attention and keep up with the work. It can be very easy to fall behind. You can use a cheet sheet on the midterm and final which are on campus.

Okay so STATS was a difficult class for me but this professor obviously wants he students to pass. She gives you multiple chances to get an A on your homework all you have to do is study the material. Out of all my professors she was the best she was very helpful and great at teaching.

She was nice teacher gave extra credit to add to exams but since it is fully online you are basically teaching yourself(she does offer zoom-chat hours for help). The TI-84 calculator is a MUST and will help you with a LOT. If you dont like your grade on a assignment you were given 3 chances to redo it. Only take if you can manage your time well.

Professor Palacios was a wonderful professor. I took her stats class over the winter session. It was an accelerated course. I was nervous to take math at an accelerated pace, but Palacios made sure her lectures were thorough. This class was a lot of work, but it helped me understand the material and I felt prepared for the final.

There's quite a bit of reading you'll have to do but everything she posts online is a summary of what's in the text book, which makes it easier. She also highly recommends you get the lecture notebook that's hundreds of pages long but good for keeping track of what's going on. Explanations of concepts are pretty clear but can ramble on sometimes.

Professor wants you to succeed and in a way the work is easy even if you aren't a math person and she gives you 3 tries on each quiz but the work load in that class was the most I have ever had. I found myself spending double the time stated we would need to spend in the syllabus, causing me to not focus as much on my other classes.

I spent an average of 3 hours every Tuesday and Thursday. If you are determined, you can take this online but it is not for the weak. If you hate reading, do not take this online. Lastly, review the study guide with her 3 days in advance, not the day before(crowded), and you will get an A if you do so. She truly does care and is flexible!

Irene is an amazing professor. She knows what she teaches and knows how to make students understand. The readings are easy and she gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. Exams are exactly like the homework, and they are not too hard either. The amount of reading and HW is okay. Overall, she is so sweet and this class is an easy A.

I never thought I would earn an A in Stats, but Prof Palacios really makes the topic understandable. There is a lot of hw and assignments, but they prepare you for the tests. Great and very nice professor! I will say there is a lot of homework due Wednesday and Friday. Be sure to never fall behind. The exams are very easy and straightforward. You are allowed to bring notes for exams as well.

"amazing lectures" is just informative slides followed by a handful multiple choice question quiz to see if you understand the topic + you get multiple tries on the quizzes and feedback for each one. Concepts were explained well and she provided good resources and answered questions quickly. Great professor, super nice, would 100% take again!

Fantastic professor. Listen, as long as you literally just pay attention and do the hw (which most of my class didn't) you will do great! It's a lot of homework honestly but it all prepares you for the exams. learn from your mistakes, you can do hw over again until you get it up to 3 times. My score on the final exam was 99.1% bc I paid attention.
