Worst teacher ever! nighmarish participation grading
Very helpful, attendance is mandatory for a satisfactory participation mark
Don't sit too close, you may get hit by the flailing arms
Class was 12 weeks, we could've learned it in 2. other than being boring shes ok

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - She learned how to mark in pre-school

Worst teacher ever, and mean. She shouldn't be allowed to teach at all. don't expect she can give you any help because she think it's unfair(how the hack is it fair for me to pay for the class??)
Her voice is innoying and I can't understand where she makes her tests from. She is the Grinch.
makes crazy tests, exam was not at all what she said it would be. I felt like i was filling in random dots on my scantron...what was the point of studying??? Doesn't help much and makes students feel dumb for asking questions.
At first Treal seemed to be not tha bad. She definitely knows her economics pretty well. The midterms, weren't too bad, as long you know your stuff cold. However, the final was the hardest exam i have ever written in my life. My average dropped 14 percent. Never think of even asscoiating with trela
She was one of the worst teachers I have ever had. I'm sure she knew her stuff, but she wasn't able to present it to us in a clear manner. I was confused all year. Her exams were brutal, and our class average for exams was a failing grade! Goes to show that it wasn't the students, it was definitely
Seriously, it's worthwhile to get up at the crack of dawn to avoid having her as your prof (and I am *not* a morning person). The midterms were deceptively easy, but the final was ridiculous. There are no words to describe that disaster except 'failure'. The only enjoyable part of the class was the way she mangled the English language everyday.
i cant ****ing stand her
Easily the worst professor I've ever had in three years. She knows her stuff, but she doesn't explain very well and when she does she relies on graphs and mangles them in her effort to explain them. Speeds through things too quickly. She's horrible with any MC question she gives you. Problems are better, but not by much.
She is a very good teacher and her lecture notes are helpful. I learned a lot from her course.
The Final Exam is a killer !!! But she is nice and you can always approach her for help. Do not buy book.... i never really used it. She gives all notes online!
too strict.
Class is a slide by slide deal. No topics that aren't written on the slides on the website. Not very engaging that way. She explains things in detail but often will go to the board to explain a concept that doesn't need explanation. For example she once explained to us how you are supposed to make the same change on each side of an equation.
save your money, dont get the textbook. you only need to study her notes for the exam, and DO THE ASSIGNED PROBLEMS. her exams are all similar and really predictable, no tricks, and once you get the hang of them you can get an easy A in the class.
Awesome class and teacher. She speaks to the class as though you are in kindergarten, but is definitely a class worth taking. DO NOT buy the book. Make sure you do the assigned problems and know the notes and the exams will be easy. A almost guaranteed if you do this.
Shes very nice and she talks to you like your a child in a good way! do not buy the book! never read it. Make sure you do the practice exams, she'll take questions from it for the exam
A very responsible and approachable professor. She explains everything clearly. Her notes are highly self-explainatory. Exams are straightforward.
None of the exams is hard if you understand everything. Some wordy questions could be confusing, but the calculation questions are easy
don't buy the textbook it's useless. horrible prof. took 20 minutes explaining simple algebra. all over the place with the blackboard. goes too slow with material. left a whole chapter till the last day of class (snow day) and we had to learn it ourself. horrible prof
Overall was a good prof for this course. I stress going to class, asking questions, and doing all the assigned readings&questions as you learn them. Midterms were a breeze, scored high 90s on both. Final chapters are tough if you cram for them like I did, i suggest go to class and learn them well, cuz they are on the final. I recommend having calculus background to understand concepts better. Also watch out she jumps around in the textbook a lot so use slides as a template for what to study.
i don't know..
Irene shows a lot of enthusiasm to teach in class. However, when I went to one of her drop in sessions, she refused to answer me "basic and elementary" questions. This caused me to be absent from her class ever since.
She is absolutely all over the place. Her voice pitch changes constantly and the next thing you know she's nearly screaming. She twitched like a bird and it's really distracting. Her exams were fair though
She is clear and concise!
Prof. Trela is fair and easy to understand.
She is a horrible teacher. Never explains things clearly and never helps when you ask her a question. Avoid her.
Exams are multiple choice and fairly easy but be warned they WILL have multi-step calculations that flow through, so lots of opportunities to lose marks. 70-80% of what is said in class will not see the light of day on the exams. Nice lady but cannot explain concepts and answer questions clearly. Your time is better spent elsewhere.
Trela was a great prof. The exams are fair and she is not trying to trick anyone. As long as you put the effort in by attending class, doing the practice questions and exams and attend her office hours you will do fine. The textbook use is minimal. She is a great teacher and class is fun to attend. I hated microeconomics before, but now I love it!
Worst prof i have ever had. Worst and hardest exams I have ever written. She does not give you anything similar to exam questions beforehand. Useless when you ask for help. HORRIBLE teacher, shouldn't even have a job, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!
This lady is an all star! She provides all lecture notes on OWL, only used the textbook for the homework (if you can find a PDF, it's all you need). She is very excitable and sometimes does ramble a bit, but everything you need is in the lecture slides and she will walk you through any problem you have. She is always available for extra help too!
Trela is a good prof. Talks fast, but the material is all on the slides and the textbook and study guide are helpful. Her exams are VERY similar to the questions from the study guide (some are actually the same). If you are going to buy one of the books get that one. Was always available for office hours or if you had a quick question after class.
Horrible prof. Hardly anything from her notes were covered in the final exam. Textbook use was minimal. Avoid if possible.
she is a horrible prof. the content of her class is more than the text book! do not select her class!
Everything is clearly explained. It's easy to do well if you go to class and listen.
Seeking for help, and went to her office hour... ALl I heard was "Look at your lecture note".... After looked at the note... nothing....
She doesnot help when you ask her questions and kind of rude Don't like her at all Totally depend on my self in this course mandatory
Going to Trela's lecture is painful. She has the most condescending and grating tone I've heard since sunday school. I also didn't know that highly educated native English speakers could have as poor a grasp of basic english vocabulary and grammar as she manages to. Don't bother going in to ask questions, she will tell you just to figure it out.
This lady is a saint. Had her for 4 classes in my undergrad. I seriously don't know how someone can do poorly in her classes. DO WHAT SHE TELLS YOU TO DO. If she tells you to do the practice problems, they WILL be on the exam. She doesn't waste time assigning things that you don't need to know. To anyone claiming she's a bad prof, you are wrong!
Just as good (or rather bad) as the other 1021 profs. Kinda of mean when you try to get help and ask stupid questions - the expectation is that you have been coming to class so if you ask a question which was indirectly talked about during the lecture she will rip on you -pretty easy course in general so no real need to go to class but it helps
Generally, Ms. Trela is kind, and can explain contents really clearly and logically, making it easy to understand and remember. Her tests are fairly easy except the 2nd one, when she put in a lot of case-analysis questions in. The worst thing is about the tutorial class... But that's not her fault though.
She is a good lecturer. She speaks clearly and gets the point across very well. She is always available in her office which is great! But, seeing her in her office can be frustrating. She will constantly ask you questions which seems good, but if you don't already have a good understanding on the topic, it will be unproductive most of the time.
Honestly one of my least favourite professors i have ever had. Tests are infintley harder than any other professor's, she doesnt give you the answers to review questions so you pretty much are walking in blind to the exam. If you get her try and switch out because she moves at too fast a pace and makes test that are way harder than they should be.
The TESTS/EXAMS are SO MUCH MORE DIFFICULT than the other profs. Teach much much much much faster than the other profs as well. Anyway, DON'T EVER TAKE HER COURSE.
Her first midterm exam was extremely difficult and way harder then all the other classes. Friends in other classes were able to bring home the question sheet after the exam, and it was way easier then our exam. When the exam was over, almost everyone was still in the exam room. Try to take the class with another professor who has easier exams.
went for her office hours and not helpful at all, she won't hand out question for review questions which means that you need to know all the material throughly. not the type of prof i would go for
Her teaching style and exams are OK so far, but she is very rude when it comes to asking her questions.
There are two professors teach ECON 1021 in Western. She didn't give us answer for review questions plus she didn't let us bring exams back (the other one did). I asked her why , she said different profs have different ways. That is awful. She taught so fast by the way, never recall anything.
Probably one of the most condescending people I've ever met. But if you can withstand it and go to class (she does a lot of stuff in class that's not posted online), it should be a very easy course. I did not buy the textbook either. terrible prof, easy course.
If you want to do well on this course, you have to go to class. Take notes even you don't understand, just write down what she said. You will find your notes helpful when you review for your midterms. Do ALL the assigned questions, and understand ALL the review questions she gave out.
I went to every lecture which didn't benefit me a lot. Concepts usually seemed to make sense when she went through them but then quizzes and tests didn't seem to cover much of the same material. I used the study guide a lot which was really useful and basically taught myself the units before each of the exams as well as some of the quizzes.
How could you get low marks in her course?! Do the problems she assigns, go to class and take some notes. I took 3 of her courses in my undergrad and all get great marks, all close to 100. No tricks!
Easy. She also covers similar topics in 2159 and 2184, although 2184 is a bit harder. If you take these together that would be really easy for you to get high marks. Really glad I took her courses!
Lecture slides are really good but her exams are extremely hard! I would recommend taking this course with another prof iff you have the option.
I do not recommend this professor ever.
just about to drop the other class she teach next semester...
She seems like a very smart lady, however her lectures are all over the place. Don't need to print out lectures or bring a computer because her verbal diarrhea will be all over the board. One second she will be on board 1, then start writing on board 3, and then make a tiny blurb on board 2. Your notes will be messy so get ready for it.
Show up to the lectures and it's an easy A. She tells you exactly what you need to do to get 100 on the exams, definitely would recommend
Not too much to say. Only grades on a midterm and a final worth 40% and 60% respectively. However they are both 100% multiple choice and very easy. If you go to class, and do the readings and practice problems you should get an A.
Her teaching style is okay. Do the homework and tutorial questions she assigns and you should do well. The notes that are taken during lectures are messy when you come to study from them, but usually show up on quizzes
Every time I've been to office hours, I can't believe how unhelpful/undermining she has been. She has zero ability to understand kids needs or wants - She's been teaching for as long as I've been on this earth but somehow I have a better understanding of how to read people.
Lecture heavy. Extremely boring. You must read the lecture slides beforehand to understand what she is saying.
Amazing experience, She's a woman that likes to get things done, but when you go to her office hours and ask her real questions she's SO helpful and caring. The reason she didn't give you the answers for her practise questions is because she wants you to come to her so you can both figure out what you don't know, and prepare you.
10 minutes after I left class, I have no idea what I just wrote, because she's all over the place during lectures
Good prof, high energy teaching. Get ready to write because she likes the blackboard.
All over the place in lectures and makes questions on test worded more difficult than they have to be.
Tests are 100 ties harder than other micro econ courses. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.
She is always trying to make her tests different from others. She is not helpful at all. If you dare to ask her any questions you do not understand in lectures or questions from your exams, she will be disdainful and refuse to explain to you until you come up with the solutions. Do take her course really.
From the beginning fo the semester try to stay on top of everything because this prof goes fast. You have to read every reading before hand to understand the lectures. In addition, be ready to write as she uses the whiteboard a lot. I found it difficult because of the way she taught so fast.
good teacher, bad marks
shes an amazing prof unless u skip classes and dont come prepared and dont keep up, then shes ur worst nightmare, u also need to be a quick thinker, if u can do this, her classes are a lay up, if u hate readings, this is ur course and prof
She is the BEST. As long as you go to every class, really pay attention and are engaged in learning, you won't need to open the textbook. The homework and review questions are very representative of the difficulty on exams. She knows how to explain concepts so students understand them. She is the best professor I've ever had!
Trela may be one of the worst teachers I have ever had. In class she would just scribble things all over the board. The only thing positive I have to say is that she made the final exam really fair which I was surprised about since the midterms destroyed me. There are honestly so many first year teachers for econ I really recommend switching.
Professor Trela infuses enthusiasm into her lectures. However, it can be challenging to follow her teaching as she quickly jumps between the whiteboard and powerpoint in random orders. Trela will give help in her office when needed but rudely shuts down questions in class that are incorrect. This creates a stale and fearing learning environment.
Lectures are straight out of textbook, she just explains in more detail than the textbook and gives good tricks as to how to remember the content. Highly suggest doing the readings before lecture as I found it was easier to follow her lectures if I already knew what she was talking about, otherwise I'd just end up on Facebook watching time go by.
before this lady i was gonna dual major in econ and business now its business and poli sci lol
I've honestly never had a better prof. She actually teaches concepts well and her exam questions are straight from lectures so make sure you go to class. If you want a high mark, I'd go with another prof but if you actually want to learn economics, take Trelas class!!
great prof, make sure not to skip class, take pictures of your notes so you dont lose them, do her hw qs you will do well. she wont let you bring ur watch to exams so sit in front of a watch in the exam hall amazing women, 10/10 prof
One of my absolute favorite Economics professors! Her first year micro course was a little tough, but her upper year elective courses are amazing! Exams are straight forward and there are no surprises. 2172 was a great course. Definitely recommend it!
She was confusing, her lectures were not very organized, and she would randomly jump around topics. She has a ton of energy which makes lectures somewhat interesting. Overall, don't go in her class unless you have to.
I don't know why her exams are so difficult and her average always lower than other professors. She doesn't have an well-organized lectures, and I always can't follow her. You won't get high grade in her class unless you are genius. Do not choose her class unless you want to fail Econ!!!!!! So angry!!!!She makes me unable to enter IVEY!
Irene Trela is one of the worst and most terrible professors at Western. I went from loving AP MicroEcon in High School, to hating MicroEcon in University. She does not deserve to teach Econ!!!
I found textbook use much more helpful than her lectures as well as she makes very very hard midterms that are pretty hard to study for says all questions are from homework but not really. If you have her goodluck. You can still obtain a good grade in the class she is really no help in obtaining it. Also very unclear when answering questions
This professor is amazing she knows her stuff. Loves teaching and will be willing to help any student who needs it. Just put in the work and have a sense of humour and you will love her.
Professor Trela is the absolute best. would recommend. People say she is really hard but I can assure you this is only a perception she is fair and will help you if ya need it.
Very knoweldgeable and totally hillarious She makes the lecture a comedy routine MMMMMHHHMMMMMM yeeeeeeeeessssss
Lecture material can be a bit dry at times, but her enthusiasm in class makes up for it. As long as you attend all the lectures and do the homework & review questions she assigns in class, getting an A on her exams should not be a problem. The course is very straight-forward, there is not a lot of content, and mostly application based.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! Trust me on everything, you might think some of these comments are bs but I'm a 80 avg student and this class was nonsense, literally didnt learn a thing and just struggled! Her reviews are completely different from the midterms and she is lecture heavy and i went to all the classes. You will never use this stuff in life!!
Professor Trela is the best teacher ever. She explained things very carefully and her class is really interesting! I love her so much!
She's okay. Her lectures are kind of overdramatic, kind of like what you'd see in an improv show, and kind of heavy in content(as well as the the quizzes/midterm/exam). As for personality she was helpful but kind of strict. It wasn't the worst class ever and I've had worse teachers and profs, but if I could choose to have her again I wouldn't.
Switch from her class. I read the comments on rate my prof before but thought I could manage, barely got the 60 I needed. Very passionate but if you have no background knowledge and the subject isn't your forté then switch. She teaches her own way of doing problems that come on the exam so to succeed GO TO CLASS,do ALL my lab q's, &ALL assigned q's
I had her for econ of healthcare and you can tell she is passionate and knows her stuff. She's willing to walk through entire concepts during office hours with you and answer email questions right before the exam. She wants all her students to succeed and it shows. her exams are unique. study her way and you will do fine
must attend lectures. she talks really fast and gives a lot of info. use the exam banks!!! find them. and use them. her exam questions are often multiple-multiple choice so they are more difficult than the other profs. if you go see her during office hours, she is so helpful and passionate about economics.
Speaks way too quickly and yet we're somehow behind the other sections. Not a nice person either. She uses language that is different from the textbook too, which is confusing for anyone who's reading along (i.e. anyone trying to learn, since her lectures are garbage).
the hardest prof in the first yr of all eco profs and her exams are the most difficult than others, idk the reason why she makes the exams so difficult than others and the students in her section always get the worst marks than other section. she also told to make additional notes in class and will test it during in exam. Avoid her if u can
Trela is all over the place, she overcomplicates topics, acts manic in lectures. Reading the textbook makes SO much more sense than her confusing lectures. Her pace is WAY too fast - can't even comprehend what she's saying before she moves onto the next topic. Refuses to answer any questions before exam, just tells you to look in lec notes
Her lectures really wake me up in the morning. The lectures are dramatic. Her exams are manageable if you attend all the lectures and do the questions listed. She is accessible outside class, and very helpful, going to her office hours before an exam helps a lot.
Get away from her if you can. She is such an obstacle.
her exams are way harder than other profs, and its not even close how much harder her class is, dont take her!
No doubt that Trela is extremely knowledgable and passionate about economics, but compared to other profs she has by far the hardest exams. Textbook and her lectures do not have much correlation to midterms. If anything, she breezes through the hard concepts in the last 15 mins of class. If you have the option, I'd take it with another prof.
If you want to learn economics, take Trela's class but I assure you, you will fail. Her exams are unnecessarily hard and made from content out of the textbook. Tests on things that aren't even in the syllabus because she "taught it in class" Midterm 2 average was like a 50 and 9/150 people got an A. It's an interesting class that was made hard
At first, I thought Trela would be a good prof considering how passionate she was about what she was talking about so I stayed in the class. Needless to say, she was a horrible prof and half the time, it was hard to comprehend a lot of what she was saying. If you're looking to pass with exam banks, don't even try, she doesn't use them, only MyLab.
In my final year of school, taking this as an elective. One of the worst prof I ever had. Her approach to teaching people during office hours is very aggressive.
Her exams are 10 times harder that other prof exams. Switch out of her class if you are looking to use test banks
Waking up at 8:00 for Trelas class was the highlight of my week, every week. Trela is very passionate about economics, she makes boring topics exciting and engaging. Lol she low key cute too.
Irene Trela is the reason i have come to hate economics. Her lectures are not beneficial for the success of your grade, yet reading the textbook doesn't provide much help. She is extremely unorganized and is very condescending. She is entertaining to listen to in lecture because she provides gestures for every spoken word. she won't help with q's
Her tests were very different from the MyLab even thou she said that if you do them you will be fine. My roommate had also econ 1021 and his tests were so much easier because they were test banks questions, but Trela does not use it at all. Not recommended.
Unorganized lectures. Is not helpful.
Her lectures were hard to follow and she gave us some of the hardest tests compare with other profs'. The way she teach makes the easy stuff become much more complicated, plus she won't give you much time to think which makes her lectures hard to follow even if you try to focus. NOT recommended. I got an A with even more efforts than 3000+ courses.
If you have the option to not take a class with Trela DONT TAKE HER CLASS. If you dont go to class or you miss a few lectures consider your grade shot. Her midterms and finals relate to NOTHING in textbooks, homework or review. I read this website and didnt see good reviews about her and I understand why now. DROP if you have a class with her.
Love prof Trela, she is passionate, and a perfectionist. She is engaging and challenging at times. Favourite undergrad professor, her class was a treat for me, and taking my 2nd class with her taught alot about her expectations and testing style. Please at least attend a class before judging her, also, don' take if you believe you're intelligent
Professor Trela was an extremely unreasonable and unkind professor. During the Covid-19 crisis, she threatened to fail any students who didn't hand in their papers by hand rather than turnitin, even though the university was shut down. After Western told her she couldn't force people to come in during quarantine, she still continued to be harsh.
This prof is actually insane. Her lectures are impossible to follow and she just keeps writing small graphs on the board that no one can see. I wish she could watch herself give students lectures. I saved this course for my last year of undergrad as a gift and little did I know it would be the worst experience. She's the worst prof of my 4 years.
Prof. Trela was completely inaccessible outside of class, an unreasonable marker and purposely made a lot of the study material inaccessible before exam. I would give her a 0 if I could. If you're thinking of taking her class, don't. Take any other class I guarantee you it will be a better experience, less boring, and the professor will be decent.
Her exams were more difficult than other professors. But if you understand the questions on mylab, you can still get high marks.
Terrible professor. really tough. avoid
Good lecturer and available for out of class help. However, she makes her exams MUCH harder compared to other professors. USE THE PEARSON MYLAB STUDY PLAN AND DO THE WORKED PROBLEMS IN THE TEXTBOOK since quizzes are based on it. Don't bother using test banks for exams. The course is doable, you just need to put a lot more work into it to do well.
Trela is nice but her lectures are definitely difficult to follow, especially if you have never taken an econ course before. Not a terrible course if you if you actually learn and understand the material, memorizing wont help. Make sure to do the my lab questions!!!!!!
I can't speak on her ability to teach in person, but having online school which Irene Trela was a disaster. She didn't ever teach the class, only posted slideshows with the information for the week. It was a pathetic attempt at online teaching by someone who clearly does not care about their students. Dropped the class cause its impossible to learn
Literally the worst prof I have ever had.
Forget everything bad you've heard about Trela. She's a goat. You gotta go to class, because the way she teaches, you'll remember everything which will help you study a lot better for exams. With her, reading the textbook wasn't necessary, you just gotta do the practice questions she assigns!
Many people dislikes her because of her "tough" exams. However, I would like to point out that her exams are fair if you understood the material. Plowing through test bank questions won't help and she made it VERY clear on the first day of class. Go to her office hours if you have question! She is super concise and will get straight to the point.
Just posts slides no real lectures but super super helpful if you reach out to her. Responds to emails immediately and is always happy to host virtual office hours. Also a fair marker, very straightforward tests.
Do the Pearson Portal homework questions and you should be good. A lot of people say she's tough but honestly she doesn't lie when she says you have to comprehend the content, not memorize it. You're pretty much on your own though.
I have never experienced a professor who cares less about their students. During the pandemic I emailed her several times asking for extra help, only to receive very snide and unhelpful responses. Trela threw up powerpoints and called it a day. Had to teach the course to myself.
DO not take any course with her.
Don't choose her class. You will fail. No actual class, just powerpoint. And the test is not related with anything learned in class.
I thought I didn't have to use this site in first year and could go blindly into any class and be inspired to learn regardless of the prof. Trela taught me I was so wrong about this. An awful teacher who accused me of cheating when I stretched my neck. She is an awful lecturer who is unclear and mumbles nonsensical jargon. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES!
She was very strict about the late submission of exams, and any late submission could result in a 0. There are many questions on the exam and you may not have enough time. But in general the questions are basically the same as the examples she provides.
Tests are very hard. Horrible teacher/explaining. Draws on a little white board that no one can see instead of going off of the ppt, does not let anyone take a picture "it is my personal property" exams are all math/equations, does NOT do ANY math in class. All homework, my lab, tutorials do not help. Nothing will prepare you for this.
After taking Trela's class I have realized that "Rate my professor" is accurate. One of the, if not the worst teacher I've ever had, no exaggeration. She is unapologetic about being a bad teacher. Reads off powerpoints and draws small graphs for 300 people to see. Her class was so horrible it made be regret my decision of picking BMOS over Eng.
I was nervous going in. I read her reviews and was worried I was going to do poorly, but her energy is so intriguing. The only issue is that the exams always have at least one error in them, the good news tho is that the grades are almost always revised to be higher than they were before. I recommend pre-reading the txt, but if not, you'll be fine.
I'm usually a mid/high 70 student over my 4 years at Western. I took Econ 2150 w trela this semester and now I understand why everyone tells me to avoid her. I studied/went to class and did readings, i got a 58 on midterm #1 and 52 on #2... both midterms were curved up by 12% and 15%.... don't take her class. Serious impact on your mental health.
Makes her class harder than the other microeconomics classes. Averages for her classes are way lower. Just unnecessarily makes it harder for her students without providing any real feedback or lecturing in class.
trela is a solid professor and i found her lectures interesting. She uses good examples and is very enthusiastic about her field. Her tests are intentionally difficult, but if you study they are not unfair. Would take again.
She is good and helpful.
Trela is great a professor who understands the concepts she teaches very well. She does a great job of providing real-world examples that help understanding. Midterms are difficult, but questions are similar to those found in lectures. If you really understand the content you will do very well. Go to class - she emphasizes what will be on tests.
Heavy focus on understanding the concepts and not memorizing. Use provided practice quizzes after each chapter and before midterms/final to test your understanding and application of concepts. Textbook reading + note-taking, tutorials, and showing up to the lectures are important. If you put in the work a high grade is very achievable.
lectures aren't too bad, but compared to the other econ profs her exams are way harder. Other profs would put things that you learned in class or in the textbook whereas Trela's exams were more based on using the knowledge you learned in class. If you want to get a good mark, either avoid this prof or get ready to put in lots hours of studying
If you want to do well you have to show up to all your EIGHT A M CLASSES. Also the tests were really hard all multiple choice with multiple choice within the multiple choice.
She is very passionate but her lectures often weren't organized, especially the "diagrams" she drew on the board. Her examples didn't really help and would often get upset at students for not understanding the material. A good grade is still do able if you work hard and study on your own time.
She has pretty engaging lectures during which she draws diagrams on the board to supplement the slides from the textbook that she goes through. Tests were very reasonable if you understand the content and the curves were insanely blessed (could get 100+).
Trela was a good prof. She explained the math and graphs clearly and used many examples. Her grading criteria were easy, clear and fair.
I emailed her asking if I could write a quiz in a different lab time and she emailed back without even addressing anything. The entire email was comprised of a "NO"
Do NOT take her class! She is terrible at teaching and it's rude to her students. She has no respect for her students and will not answer your questions. Do not take any of her classes!
I would move away from her at all cost! Her lectures are very difficult to understand, she's been teaching for many years now but doesn't look like she knows how to. She does not want to help you understand or learn, she's here to do her job(read her slides and leave) and make her money. Do not expect to learn anything from her!
