She is the best psychology teacher to take by far. You have weekly quizes, but she tells you exactly what will be on it and their very easy. If you do all the work and do it right you will not fail this class.

Dr. Gat made a completely uninteresting (to me) subject, one worthy of attention and care. She is understandable, approachable, and clear. If you put in the work, you'll pass the class, learn something, and enjoy it at least a little bit!!

Dr. Gat is very nice and a very fair teacher. Her quizes and classwork/homework is very easy. Her exams are TOUGH. You have to take her SI class with it to pass the exams. That is the only downfall.

She's a terrific instuctor and willing to help her students in and outside of class. She genuinely cares for her students and works with them for the best grade possible. In her Honors course however, she didn't offer enough assignments, and 1 bad grade significantly lowers your overall score.

she is awesome. I would and have recommeded her for her psy classes. she is truly concerned about her students. if needed she makes her self available for student, she wants to help any way she can. She makes the students feel like they matter. as far as your grade goes, if you do the work and participate you'll pass the class with a high grade.

I wouldn't take her again, but I wouldn't tell you not to take her either. She seemed kind of nice, but I didn't care for her. She only engages the students she already knows and her laugh is really annoying. The class itself was easy though, albeit completely boring. If you're looking for a more interesting Psych professor, try Wanda VanGilder.

Very upbeat, happy-go-lucky, super-nice, optimistic personality. Took her Honors PSY 101. Almost too easy. Don't buy the book. Loves dark chocolate. Hates giving tests, so she gives out candy on test days.

Absolutely loved this class. Very easy and enjoyable. Made my day. I've never met anyone as enthusiastic as Dr Gat before. Do the APA paper early on, have her read the draft and you'll basically get an automatic A.

Thought she was great for psy 101 and 112. Easy grader and very nice, but if she gets to know you it can be very annoying because she treats you like a little kid. Other than that...easy class.

By far, one of the best teachers I have ever had. For your main ppr thats due, she bascially gives you a chance to get 100% she will proof it and let you make your changes to get 100(as i did.) Shes very willing to work with you and it was a fun class to be in!

Great teacher! Makes Psychology fun which I did not think was possible. This class is very easy if you follow her instruction. Quizes com from the book and tests come from her notes. For the paper you should turn in a rough draft! Not required but if you do she will give it back to you with corrections so when you turn it in you should get an A!

LOVE this class!! its my favorite! she is so funny and very interesting! i took psy 101 and it was by far the easiest class ive taken. If you have the chance to take her DO IT! test and quizzes are easy as long as you take notes or even just listen.. A+++

Read the text and go to SI because that will help you with the tests and quizzes, also do your paper early, I did all that and got an A also her lectures are interesting. She is passionate and fun.

Her research paper is EXTREMELY important and pretty much the only thing that matters in the entire class. I got As on all of my tests and good grades on my quizzes, but I didn't bring my Research paper to class on the right day (yet still did it) and she marked me as not having it, giving me a D in her class. Time and money wasted.

One of my favorite teachers in AVC. She is extremely nice, and she knows what she is talking about. When I am talking to her, it feels like I am talking to a friend than a teacher. Also, go to the SI session because that helps a lot. APA Essay is madatory but make sure you turn in something. Study for the test and you should pass. Take this teacher

She's cool. She's really nice and funny. However, I was disappointed in that in the beginning of the semester she brought up all this stuff that we were supposed to discuss but we never ever did. Also, we spent nearly half the semester doing group presentations. It was a little disappointing. But everything is super easy and it's a chill class.

Great teacher. Helpful, supportive, passionate about her subject, and knowledgable about her subject. Gives students the sense that they matter to her. Makes you genuinely interested in the class whether or not you started the class feeling that way. Highly recommend taking her.

The class was fun and interesting, but I was a little bored toward the end, we spent a majority of the semester listening to group presentations. Overall the class good. The teacher is awesome.

She was intimidating at first, you DONT need the book, her exams are based on her lectures, the 1st half of the semester is pure lecture and 3 exams, the other half is group presentations that were pointless, in my opinion the class wasnt what i expected it to be, passed with an A or B,shes really nice, but i wouldnt take her class again.

Dr. Gat was given quite a heavy burden with this class due to the fact that most of the Psychology professors do not wish to teach Bio-Psych. Even though we were here guinea pigs she was quite an extraordinary professor, never have I had such an interactive class in AVC. I learned much from Dr. Gat. Dr. Gat you rock!

Had a great time in this class. Fun teacher. 3 tests, 1 two page essay, and 4 super super easy homework assignments. Tests are all from the notes so it would be a good idea to attend class. Book wasn't really necessary, which I wish I would have known ahead of time because it was $300. Will take this teacher again!

Dr. Gat's personality is a hot pepper. She's an amazing professor, HIGHLY recommend. She loves her students, very helpful. The material is fascinating-I'm a nerd, but the human body is complex & beautiful. Her attitude definitely brightens the topic. Read the syllabus before asking questions. Make sure to print the PowerPoints and the textbook.

Human Sexuality. Very fun and interesting class. Cracked a few jokes but kept us interested throughout most of the semester. Exams over material learned in class. Only downside is her powerpoint slides were sometimes in weird colors that made it hard to read. Other than that a lot of fun, I would take her again@

Amazing teacher! the class was soo chill! it really wasnt a hard class, three tests and a ppt final presentation at the end. her personality freaking rocks!! this is a sex class so if you feel uncomfortable about the topic DO NOT TAKE THE CLASS!!! But overall fun class and great professor!

Fun teacher, but when her and the boyfriend get into it. She reflects her bad mood on some of her students which is NOT fair! The book is too darn high especially when its only a few chapters that u need it for that you can get from her notes instead! I hate that she is busy texting during presentations instead of focusing entirely on her students

Dr Gat is so smart and made a very difficult subject easy to understand. PSY 201 is very challenging and I felt she made the extra effort to explain it clearly and so concepts applied to our daily lives and future as psychologist. I highly recommend her.

I was afraid to take it because it is about the brain but professor Gat makes the information "down to earth" - she won't force the info down your throat- she wants you to learn because this is for your own future. Shes a good teacher and the class is interesting. But she did fail my paper which was a huge part of my grade because the format was wrong. She said other than that it was perfect. I didn't see a grading rubric like I would've liked to see. I knew the format was wrong and asked her if I can go reprint and she answered very rudely.

Dr Gat is fantastic- best teacher at AVC - she is NOT rude or self-centered and anyone that says so is just blaming her for their own lack of motivation. She does not tolerate people that can't follow instructions but this is college. she puts her heart and soul into every class- don't miss out on the best!

The BEST teacher I've had ever. She is so nice and caring - patient and kind. And I learned a lot- she can be tough when needed but sometimes students try to take advantage of her being so nice and she puts her foot down in those cases. Can't go wrong with her :-)

The homework and papers were easy in my opinion, just follow her instructions and put effort into them. Her tests were on the hard side. So I suggest you study the book and your notes. Take down your notes! She really wants her classmates to succeed.

There are 3 easy tests, lectures are on tested material. Rented the book but only needed it once. No research paper, but there was a group presentation, which she graded based on how entertaining&informative the presentation was. I don't feel like I learned anything, but I got an A.

AM taking her for PSY 201 and LOVE her! Smart, caring and funny - I'm learning so much. Obviously LOVES her job and students. A MUST take before you graduate from AVC. Challenging

I just finished taking her class and she has by far changed my life. Best prof ever taken and cares about her students. She almost cried the last day of class-- you'll learn a lot but you better study for her tests - although class material was dry she sure made it interesting.

Professor Gat is one of the best instructors I've had. But beware you better know APA writing style and how to find research articles. She has a research paper with high expectations and does not take late home work or assignments. I had a rough semester and she was really supportive and understanding but still expected me to turn work in.

The best way to pass is to attend every class and take notes from Dr. Gat's power-points and read the textbook. She is incredibly nice and I wish I could take her other classes as well. There was a midterm, final, research paper, pop quizzes, random extra credit, and hardly any homework. I highly recommend students to take Dr. Gat! I love her!

Doc G is AMAZING!!! Now don't get me wrong - this is a hard class and she expects you to read and go over notes- we have quizzes but they are helpful for the exam so pay attention to the questions she asks. She also gives practice exams that help. But she expects you to be prepared. She has a wonderful personality is nice and CARES. TAKE HER!

I really like her a lot - she is super smart and really gets into the material. She applies the stuff to everyday life and why you need to know it to be a good counselor. I can't wait until she teaches Human Sex class again because I heard that was a great class - one of the best professor's I've had at AVC.

I didn't study enough so it was my fault for doing poorly and had to drop but I will take her again - funny also and keeps it "real" - but you have to come to class and study or you won't pass

Dr. Gat is very passionate about teaching and getting her students involved. This is displayed through her constant positivity. she welcomes questions and makes everyone feel valued. She is a tough teacher when it comes to asignments/due dates - this is good for the younger students to teach them work ethics. need to stud for her exams!!!

If you're expecting an easy A, this is NOT the teacher for you. You work hard for your grade. She does NOT give study guides, only a few hints here and there on what will be on the tests. You will have random quizzes, a BIG research paper, and 3 tests with 100 questions each. The book is NOT necessary, just the study guide that comes with it.

You have to take her!!! She REALLY REALLY loves teaching and cares about you - she even sang us a love song one day - but you do have to put your time in - she says she does it because she knows we are smart enough to meet the challenge. I will say that I get frustrated but am learning a lot. She is always upbeat and happy. puts me in a good mood

I heard so many positive things about professor Gat and finally got to take her and she did not disappoint- she is probably one of the BEST teachers ever! I am starting Abnormal Psychology with Professor Gat. She was my instructor in Physiological Psychology and Ioved her then and am so gald to be in her class again. We just started the semester but she is so awesome I wanted to write a review. She is smart funny and really caring. I do recall her exams are HARD but she says she believes in us.

She's great- she emails me back immediately and grades papers fast. I just love her inspirational emails - she encourages us to work but is also supportive. I wish I had her in person but don't have time so take her on-line it's work but clear and easy to follow if you read the instructions.

She inspired me in so many ways, not just in the class material but she sometimes would talk about things that I used in my daily life that helped me. Best on-line instructor I have had at AVC. She always sent updates and grades assignments fast and gives feedback. She is super positive and says she believes in her students. I went to her office for help with the paper and she was so nice and helped. BUT she WILL make you work and does not take excuses - you gotta read and keep- hard paper.
