This is the worst teacher ever!!! She cannot teach.Her tests are impossible. Only students who already have a science degree pass her class. last semester 5 out of 30 passes her class and that does not mean with A. She is a nightmare. Stay away!!!!!!!
Nice But intimidating
This is a warning for all of you. Do not take her. Don't think you will be different. A students get D's in her class. She curves grades only for half of the class. Very intellegent person but that is whats dangerous. Be her friend, but never take her.

I agree with everyone else. She is the worst teacher you can have. She looks down on people, doesn't teach and expects students to do well. NOT helpful, rude, does not create an atmosphere for students to ask questions. Simply a ****.
Anyone who's been to the Math Science Center knows that all these negative comments are written by the same person who used to tutor there. The poor student is obsessed; go get some help.
Don't believe the bad stuff. She teaches hard classes and some cant handle it. She is a very nice and helpful person. Office is always open for you even after office hours. One student spread the rumor, dont buy it. Take her.
Mrs.Saber is the best math teacher I have had! Those who do not come to class prepared and are not qualified for her class will find it difficult. She cannot help those that don't want to help themselves! Excellent teacher, she is always there to help!

Ms. Saber is helpful if you spend the time it takes to learn and understand the material. She teaches high level math very well. Students must keep in mind that it is the material that is difficult. Ms. Saber will, and does, help when called upon for it.

She doesn't know what the hell she is doing. She memorizes all the proofs and just copies the examples from the books. No originality or clarity of explanation. She just plain sucks at teaching.
She doesn't do a very good job of explaing in the material. She does just copy from the book she doesn't take the time to properly explain to the students so we can do the hw on our own. she is very confusing. She is not a good math teacher.

You have to earn your grade in her class, she's not going to give any A's away without some hard work. If you aren't willing to put in the time, don't bother. I took her for precalc and she prepared me very well for calculus.

Last math class of GCC and the class got cut off because absoloutely no students remained towards the end. She will hate u as soon as u walk through the door. Mean mean mean, but shes an OK teacher

Saber is just ridiculous. Your entire grade will be based on only four tests, and an extra credit assignment that is unfair. She's unprofessional and extremely rude to the students when we needed help. She makes you feel stupid if you don`t understand... Please don`t take her, I wish I didn`t.
I've heard this teacher is soo unfair. My friend had her and barely passed with a C-. Teachers like her should seriously not teach...my friend said she was very rude and would make the students solve their own problems...without even offering to help them.

Students WHO did their work, got treated like s**t too OK. She does answer student questions, and if failure level is high she even does extra workshops, BUT she ONLY grades on 4 tests that is it. And SHE DOES HAVE A TEMPER PROB. and SHE DOES TREAT MATH KIDS THE SAME WAY AS CAL 3 students.

saber is a fairly nice woman. always prepared & had few absences, if any. she lectures well and you must earn your grade. try not to skip clsses b/c that's the sure fire way to piss her off. i recommend her for students who care to learn. she's reasonable and bearable.

This teacher is a very hard teacher. She was co-teaching with another fabulous math teacher, but because of saber hard style with no flexibility and it appears that she does not care if you succeed or not. I actually had to drop the class because her grading is sooo hard.
I agree that Saber is a hard teacher, however she makes you understand the material. That is really important for science majors taking 105, cuz you need to understand things to apply it. If you are willing to work hard and want to actually learn stuff, then YES do take her. Her teaching methods will surely prepare you for upper division classes.

this class reminds me of something.... This teacher probably wrote all the good things about her herself. She is horrible. If you want to do any good to the world, then don't take her so that she will get fired. If not enough students take her classes she will no longer be there. She knows nothing about teacher. Is the horrible and moody. All these bad comments are true about her.

Difficult but helps you understand the material. Good for science majors. Not good for people looking to coast by without learning material.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. For someone teaching at the college level, she treats the class like it's still in high school and under. Show any signs of struggle don't understand the material, she'll usually write it off as laziness. Most students hate her, likewise among faculty. Better off taking a self paced course over her class any day.

Ok,well I was scared when I knew she was going to teach me math 108 after hearing all the bad stuff. Now that I have hear,I must tell you the truth. In my opinion she is one of the best math teachers in GCC. She is clear,her lectures are good,she really cares that you learn..not as hard as students say. DO THE HW, LISTEN CAREFULLY TO HER LECTURE~
The person below me has to be out of her mind. She is super hard teacher. She doesnt care about her students, and she wants to fail them. I think she accidentall hit her head to wall while she was child. For chapter 5,6 test, she told math/science center not to answer any question. Her take home test was incredibly hard.STAY AWAY FROM HER.
Saber is one of the best and helpful math teachers I have ever had. She is great. If you are in math you should expect all sort of twists, if you do then her tests or lecture will not be a daydream for you, you will really learn. Lectures are clear tests are clear she gives extra points. She is awsom!! two tumbs up.
I have take three claseese with this teacher and my experience with her had not been that horrible;sure there are times that you want to chock her on the tests;but i do like her teaching style. her lectures are very helpful . overall good teacher; wont be able to live with her but she is a fair grader if you show her that you care about learning.

I just graduated from UCLA, and remember taking Saber's statistics class. It.was.awful. She was boring, unrelenting, uninformative, and it was one of the two worst classes I took during my entire collegeate experience. I advise you not to take her.
Ms. Saber was a refreshing learning process for me. Yes, she is hard and expects alot from her students. But isn't that what a teacher suppose to do. Set higher standards for the students so they can achieve their goals. Her class was a challenge and I had to apply all of my learning skills to pass her class. If you want to learn take her class.

Hey ppl what else do you want. She has more ratings than anyone in the math department. Most of them are negative. Listen when we say "stay away from her". She is very very mean. I'm just glad I dropped her class on time. I only attended her class a few times but that was enough for me to realize she isn't good professor material.
I hope I never have another professor like this one. The College needs to intervene. No patience, no sympathy, no understanding, and no flexibility. She has health problems and is always complaining. I work private sector with a variety of people, she'd never make it in the private sector. Negativity and meanness should not be in the classroom

Her tests are difficult but if you work hard, your effort will appear on the test even if the answer is not exactly right. She sees that and give you credit for overall concepts you have. I learned much during this Summer and I Thank you Prof. Saber!!!

She is one of the worst teachers I ever had. Calculus is a very hard subject and needs a great teacher to tell you how to work the problems and understand concepts. She does none of that, and when she does in a blue moon does it poorly. Out of 40 students only 5-6 were left by semester end. DO NOT take her, save yourself the heartache.
I can honestly say that this is true: 1. 24/45 students DROPPED the class 2. She uses powerpoints her lectures 3.If you do even one mistake in a problem on a test, you're already looking at half credit and 4. She is a very discouraging individual when it comes to questions(so you're literally on your own throughout the semester). Luckily i got a B.
This "professor" was useless, all she did was read the book to me, I can do that at home by myself. When I would go to her office hours if I didn't get it immidiately she would get irritated and pissed. Expected me to magically know sertain things. I had to spend hours on end teaching the material to myself. WARNING!! Stay away Take Kolpas!!!!
Not easy but fair. As far as asking questions go, she does get annoyed with the dumb questions (and people ask a lot of those!) I actually like the way she explains, because it makes sense. She doesn't just give out easy passes, you have to work for it which in turn makes you ACTUALLY learn :) If you like math take her! If not- take someone else:)
Please do yourself a favor and don't listen to the comment below. Either that person is crazy or Saber herself. I find it kind of funny because one of the first things she does in the beginning is try so hard to convince students that the negative comments here are not true. If you take her, I really hope you know what you're up against.
I took this professor in Fall 08 and I don't completely understand the comments here. Her tests were challenging but they prepared me for upper-division math.
teaches well, but her tests are much, much harder than the examples she gives in class. Makes mean, sarcastic jokes in class all the time, and everyone was scared to ask her questions because she was so condescending. You will learn in her class, but your GPA will suffer. I have never been so happy to receive a C. You've been warned
she isnt that bad but i had to spend A LOT of time teaching myself. her tests aren't that bad but it took me a while to get used to them. its possible to get a good grade(i got a B) but you will have to teach yourself. not an easy math class
This math class has more reading than doing math problems. If you comprehend and read, there should be no problem. However, her explanations most likely won't suffice for you. In that case, just ask for help and read and re-read. Bad thing about GCC is that she is the only Lib. Arts Math teacher. No other choice. Its like a monopoly! :'(

Acts aggresive towards the class. Assumes incompletion of homework as lack of effort as opposed to difficulty understanding the material. Verbally abuses the class for mistakes and threatens to drop students. Does all this while bragging about her impunity. Makes a tough class even tougher. If you need to take this, stay on top of the homework!
Overall, Professor Saber is a great teacher, who utilizes the examples from the textbook and her own to teach. HOWEVER, her exams are very difficult, consisting of many materials that the book does not completely cover, and many others from ALWAYS the last few problems of the homework, which is usually the hardest problems.BUY the BOOK + ANSWERKEY!
Professor Saber knows how to teach Calculus, and if you pay attention in class, YOU WILL LEARN CALCULUS VERY WELL. She lectures similar to how a UCLA professor would lecture. If you are good at math and like it, you will like this class. If you are not....she doesn't leave much room for questions. Tests are hard, but she gives EC. I got an A.
professor saber is a very hard teacher, but if you do your work you will pass. the average grade on her tests were low but, with time and dedication you WILL pass her class. She does come off as mean but, she is a sweetheart.

She's not easy at all, but her exams are fair,she gives a fair amount of partial credit, and she gives you great life advice in addition to math advice.And she definitely doesn't put up with BS.If you want to make the most out of her lectures, do the homework BEFORE she lectures on it so everything is more concrete.Awesome professor, awesome class.
Great professor. Very thorough and organized. She makes sure that everyone understands before moving on. Very crucial in such a difficult class. She's also super funny and really cares about her students.
Do not take her class on Summer or Winter. She teaches the hardest things she can, she will answer your questions if you're brave enough to ask them because she does not like people who are lazy and don't know what they're supposed to know. Honestly you like really hard challenges, go for her class. I've never been so glad to just pass a class.
Below Average teacher. She left me more confused about the topic rather than cleared things up. Her tests are difficult and review sessions are a waste of time. If you ask her a question she divides the class into groups and says ask your group. She also never answers homework questions. Thumbs down for me.
Summer calc. is intense, regardless of the teacher. There is hw on 2 sec.'s & readig on the next 2 sec.'s each day. Nevertheless, Prof. Saber is a very reasonable and organized teacher. She does divide the class into groups, but also answers hw Q's if you still have any. Tests are mostly covered during her reviews & u get them back the next day!
Great teacher, took her in the summer. A lot of self study was necessary and is to be expected with these upper level math classes. Exams were a little bit harder than the assigned homework she tests for understanding not memorization. Final was brutal so make sure you are thorough when studying.
She's a tough one, for sure. She doesn't teach the material thoroughly enough, she's kind of rude, and she doesn't give sufficient time for tests. She makes you figure out difficult problems with your classmates or on your own while she sits back and does nothing.
She asked too much from us the students when it came to understanding the topic during the lecture. Gets angry for asking questions. Avoid teacher if you can.
