great teaching style. Dr. S is interactive with the class yet still maintains and organized lecture and lab. He is also know to give extra credit for extra effort. He welcomes questions and always willing to help.

Even though I don't like Biology, I still passed this class with an A. Now, it is a hard class, you really got to know your material, but if you just study then you will be fine. Dr. S, is an outstanding professor, not only does he love what he teaches but he has a great attitude about. He once was a student and understand students. Beyond terrific teacher! I hated biology before I took this class and now I love it. He really teaches in a way that makes you want to learn. Gives tons of opportunity for bonus points on exams and helped me a ton when I was hospitalized and missed two out of six weeks. Highly recommend.

Dr. S is great. The class was online but the lab was face to face. The atmosphere was relaxed and I learned plenty without being under pressure except at exam time. One of the best professors in the science division. We had a few glitches with the online course tools but he's responsive and approachable. Video lecture, power-points for notes.

I took ENVR SCI with Dr. S and ended the course with a 109. He does everything in his power to make sure that you excel in his class and is extremely helpful. If you readlisten to the lectures and do the reviews, you will for sure get an A. I did not even buy the textbook because of all the information he made available to us.

EASIEST LAB EVER. All 10 labs were online and he gives you extra credit for every lab if you answer all question. YOU DO NOT NEED THE LAB KIT OR MANUAL. He posts everything you need online and most of the work is simple and he gives you the results. I cannot express how easy this lab was and how I wish I could take him for all classes.

Dr. Schauer is one of the best teachers ever! His lectures are explained thoroughly and will re-explain anything until you understand. For me Bio 1 was a little harder than 2 because there's so many different cycles and systems, so you do have to study but there are ample opportunities to ask for help.(you have to attend class to understand though)

I had him for Summer I, I struggled with his exams. However, extra credit, projects and the final got me an A. He gives credit for effort as well as academics too. I changed my schedule for Bio II to fit his schedule. Awesome mentor!

I have taken Dr. Schauer for BIO1306 and BIO1307. He is an amazing professor he explains things clearly and truly cares about his students. He is one of my favorite professors. His lectures are fun and informative he really prepares you for his test. If you pay attention and put in a bit of work you will do well in this class.

He isn't a robot that recites what's on the lecture and moves on. He answers questions and goes in depth in a subject if it's important.

He is a great, laid back professor. What ever effort you put into this class will definitely reflect on your grade/exams. Give's lot's of credit so take advantage of that. Review is kind of deceiving, makes you think that's what he's going to ask, and it doesn't. Exam has only a few multiple choice, mostly short answer questions.

The best professor I've had!!

This is one of the harder classes I have taken. He is a great teacher but you must do your reading and studying and all SI group meetings. This is probably the most earned A I have ever received because his tests were very hard but it was well worth the effort. Schauer is a great guy! Absolutely one of my favorite classes, and this is coming from someone who really dislikes science. He makes it easy to learn, gives SO much extra credit, and really tries to make class fun. He is always within reach by irl visit, email, or sms on remind. Easily one of my favorite professors I have ever had.

I have really enjoyed the class. Dr. S makes it easy to understand the material in lecture and lightens the mood with his sense of humor. I like how missing a class doesn't kill you but if you make them all it's better. I would definitely take this professor for another class.

If you don't attend class and listen to lecture you will fail! The class is not too difficult but you have to study and listen. SI sessions are required and also EXTREMELY HELPFUL. Complete and study the review given by both schauer and SI. One last thing. Print out all of the PowerPoint slides on day one! Two slides per page is best for notes!

You have 4 tests and then the final! The 4 tests consist of MC, true/false, short answer, and an essay. Don't freak! It's really easy! Just as long as you study you will do fine! The essay at the end of each test you will know ahead of time cause he tells you them! The final is all MC from the 4 tests! He gives tons of extra credit!

He is very clear in his lectures and he makes sure that he teaches every subject that will be on his tests. If you show up to class and go over his PowerPoint slides and take advantage of the extra credit you will get an A!

Most of his lecture was 4+ years old with few updated slides. It wasnt the easiest class to keep up with as far as information in lecture compared to exams. THIS CLASS IS ABOUT HUMAN INDUCED CLIMATE CHANGE. If you cant put your political feelings aside, which I had to do, you wont pass. Very interesting class overall though.

Great with interacting with labs, also helps if you have a question or need to get a hold of him outside of class, he likes to give EC, is extremely excited about students interacting, make sure you do your Pre-Labs and the Expand your mind questions.

You can access all the material online and hes able to meet with you outside of class. Although his test are tough theyre all over his material taught in class. He's very excited about Science and makes you excited too. For essays, he provides you with many different topics to choose from, and you can pick what interests you. Needless to say, after his class, I subscribed to the magazine he made available to us, Scientific American. Science is no longer a foe, but a favorite.

His lectures are well done and informative so you have to study the material but taking good notes will help you pass this class/get a high A. He was amazing! By far my favorite teacher at this college. He definitely made class and lectures easy to understand and would also throw in a couple of jokes to lighten the mood. He will always remember all, if not most, of his students! He always comes to the college with a smile and made me enjoy walking on campus.

Dr. Schauer is the best professor BC has to offer. He truly cares about you and wants you to do well. The class will be hard though, but not impossible. You just have to study and not just the night before. Also he requires you go to 10 study sessions as part of your grade just hope you get a good SI leader.

He's super easy to reach, work with, request extensions from, etc. This class is so specific and detailed about biology that it can be overwhelming, just watch the lectures and attend SI sessions and you should pass. Dr. S is an amazingly gifted instructor. His PPT lectures were informative and very interesting. He made this study on Environmental Science a class that I actually looked forward to. It was a lot of information for me to absorb, but he is more than fair in offering extra credit projects to offset any problem grades that could be encountered.

Dr. Schauer is very clear on what you need to focus on in his lectures in order to make a good grade. Everything you ever need in his Powerpoint lectures will in some way grab your attention. His lectures are funny and normally relatable, which makes the course that much easier to learn.

Professor Schauer's has his students participate in small experiments that correlate with the material that he would be teaching. He encourages his students to socialize outside and within the class to strengthen the chances of retaining the information. He also gives tips for studying on D2L to help improve students ability to grasp the material.

One of the greatest professor out there for Biology, he was always available and easy going. I took him online for the first part, and now I am taking him in person for the second part. Even though I got a B, I felt it was well deserved but he is a very good teacher who gives lot of EC if you do it. Be prepared to study and work hard!

The lectures are used for each of the quizzes assigned, and the study guides provided on exams are extremely helpful. Don't expect many out-of-the-blue questions on exams or quizzes because they're all well outlined in the notes (AKA, don't just gloss over things you think aren't important because I guarantee they are LOL).

Dr. Schauer is by far one of the best teacher's I've had at BC. He is funny, engaging, encouraging, understanding, and supportive. You won't get past his lecture without a laugh or two. He gives you all the necessary material for the exams and quizzes, emphasizes what is very important & what you absolutely need to know. quizzes are easy. study a lil for tests & youll be ok. ton of EC. However, he's kinda childish. He sorta acts like a high school teacher.

As someone who will be going on to major in science, I can not recommend Professor Schauer enough. He is just an awesome professor to have, he is patient with his students and understands that A&P is a very dense topic to learn. He has no issues in taking more time to explain a concept that might have been complicated. Take him for ALL sciences.

Showing up to lectures is important. He posts all of the presentations for the lectures but he gives more details and explanations for everything in class. He is very interactive and wants students to talk and learn with each other. He brings a good energy to class every morning . He also provides really good feedback on exams and assignments.

He was one of the best professors I've had so far. He made the PowerPoints clear and studying for exams very easy. There wasn't any material on the exams and quizzes that wasn't in the PowerPoints. As long as you pay attention and take notes during lectures you should do great.

I really enjoyed taking bio 1307 with Dr. Schauer! I definitely feel like I learned a lot, and he made it enjoyable! There was some class discussion and reading aloud, and sometimes he would repeat back information to make sure we understood, which I appreciated! I would definitely recommend taking his class if you can!

Very good teacher I just wasn't very on top of myself I didn't read the syllabus thoroughly. When you have a late assignment it's only 10 points off each day for 5 days. Very straightforward easy class just don't procrastinate. Take responsibility.

Overall, great class and really fun. You will have to go on campus, or if you're taking it out of state or something, he has options. Most of it will be online, but you will go out of your house at least three times. I recommend taking the class with a buddy so it's more fun. But overall, great class. Would take again.

Dr. Schauer was an amazing professor, I took environmental science lab 1 from him. he had very interesting assignments. all the documentaries were interesting and made homework fun. I loved this class.

I took this class during a very difficult time in my life and Dr. Schauer was very accommodating when I let him know what was going on. He is a tough grader on written assignments (looks very particularly at grammar), but he cares about what is going on in your life and wants you to succeed.

He is fair, professional, and the grade you receive is truly from the work you put in. His course work is easy to follow, he does not add extra things that aren't in the videos he provides.
