Professor Grigorian really cares about your success. You need to study hard if you want to succeed. Do not wait for the night before to start studying. Do NOT come late to class or take out your cellphone. Attendance is a must! He will move through the lessons pretty fast, if you do not understand it visit his office hours he is really helpful.

He's really nice and great at explaining. He's one of those teachers that explains why things occur, rather than having you memorize everything. I'm not great with math, and most of the content was easy for me. He also has awesome study sessions before the big tests. I had a B+ the whole semester and bombed the final exam.

Strong Armenian accent, goes really quickly, and has bad handwriting. However, he's very nice in person, a brilliant mathematician, is helpful during office hours, and holds reviews. If you study notes right after class, attend all the classes, and work hard, then there's no excuse why you shouldn't do well. He works very hard for his students.

I love this professor, he goes fast, but he does lots of examples and is very helpful. I highly recommend him. Definitely go to class though, and stay after if you can. His tests are easier than his quizzes, so if you can pass those you should be okay. Definitely study and practice on your own. I feel like I've mastered trig thanks to him.

Hard to understand what he teaches if you have no prior experience with Trig. However, he will pound away at the material and make every effort to help you understand provided you make effort yourself. I like him. I withdrawal Fall semester because I felt like I couldn't wrap my head around Trig. This time around I feel like I am getting it.

People say he is super hard, but as long as you do the work consistently and try to learn you're guranteed at least a passing grade. Going to his 4 hour reviews helps a lot too. I dropped his class the first time I took it because I was intimidated. Took it with LeNoir and failed it. This is a real difficult class that requires constant work. Try to take this class in the summer, it's easier to stay on track. He's a big help in office hours and extremely friendly! BUT if you miss class, he'll know and he wont be happy!

Everyone says they hate him but Grigorian was probably the only math teacher I have ever had that gave so much extra time back to the students. He has 5 hour review days before the test and you can come in at any time and leave whenever. He just has pet peeves: using your phone in class & coming late to class that's it.

Very respectable teacher. he is extremely harsh but knows his stuff. He does not tolerate phones, being late or skipping g class. You will get penalized. If you miss an ICA. Dr. Grigorian is one of my favorite professors that I've had. Just do the online practice quizzes well before the quizzes and exams and you will get an A. GO TO CLASS! I was borderline AB but he bumped me to an A because I went to class.

He has high expectations. Once you get over the fear everyone seems to have of him, and go to his office hours, you'll be fine. Your notes will be your lifeline so take good ones. DO NOT SKIP CLASS! He gives extra credit randomly which will help or hurt your final grade and again you need the notes.

Here's how to succeed: study his notes the night after his lecture, visit him in office hours with questions from material before the next lecture. Repeat until the end of the semester. He holds lengthy reviews before tests and some quizzes. If he feels you deserve an A, you will get one. Great experience with this teacher, I highly respect him.

Don't take this class if you don't plan to go every day. He's definitely tough (he openly makes the tests as hard as possible) but he's fair. It's possible to do well, but with trig especially (lots of rules) you can't not study and expect to pass. Go to class, practice to make sure you have the concept down AFTER EACH CLASS and you're good.

I took this class over Summer B, which is only six weeks. It was EXTREMELY demanding, you will need to study nightly if you want an A in this course. I was able to do it, he is very helpful if you go to office hours and offers extra credit for attendance!

Grigorian is tough on his students, so they automatically don't like him. However, once you get to know him he is actually a lot of help and the best teacher I have had this far at FSU. If you take his class, be prepared to work; but as long as you put in the effort, he will too.

I took him for trig over summer B and knew nothing. The class is hard and requires a lot of studying, I got a 70% on the first test but by studying harder and going to office hours where he was very helpful I got a 100% on test 2 and the final. He is a really great teacher.

Extremely helpful. Almost every day he stayed after class to do more practice questions, and he did 4-5 hour review sessions on the Sunday before a test. He is intimidating at first, but he is so thorough and makes trig make sense. Just don't ever be late for class and never pull out your phone in class and definitely take notes and you'll be fine!

Although I received a D this semester, I can say with absolute certainty that Ishkhan is a great teacher. The course material is tough, but the only reason I didn't do well is because I didn't study and grasp the material as much as I should have. I am taking this class again. He goes to great lengths to help his students.

Grigorian is an infamous professor at FSU, particularly for his strict attitude, but also for his phenomenal teaching ability. He will crucify you for being late or using your phone in class. He takes random attendance which impacts your grade tremendously so try not to miss class. Sit up front, he'll be nicer if you're lost if he knows your face.

Everyone on campus knows "Grigorian" is Latin for "go to class or fail." If you're going to be late, just stay home. He will destroy you. But he disclipines students because he cares. Fortunately, I've always been great at math, but I watched peers struggle through his fast paced lectures. Ask questions whenever possible, even on lab test days.

If you actually go to class take notes, and study you will pass. I took Grigorian for college algebra and business calc and didnt have any trouble in either class. Just like any other class you have to put in effort. If you have perfect attendance you'll get a ton of extra credit but if your attendance isnt good you'll fail.

Funny guy and he helps students a lot. You have to go to basically every lecture, because if you don't then you'll feel like you missed an episode of lost and you won't know whats going on unless you already know trig. As long as you try, you will do well.

Grigorian takes attendance very seriously. I've seen him basically humiliate late students to his best ability the first few weeks, and students since then learned to sneak their way in if they're late without him noticing. I was a little nervous at first because his personality is a bit... intense. He turned out to be a pretty good teacher as long as you study and pay attention. He's absolutely OBSESSED with attendance so always go to class. Only grades were quizzes, tests, and the final (same for all trig classes). Gives extra credit if you go to class!

Excellent teacher. He seems very grumpy, but if you study, avoid using your phone in class, and make it to every lecture on time (every single one), he will help you more than any other professor is willing to. I was told that if I made a certain grade on the final that he'd boost my grade to an A.. I got sick the week of the final and made just shy of that threshold.. and he gave me a B+. Do not believe the bad reviews, most likely those students did not pass and therefore reflect that on the teacher. To pass you must go to class every day and do the practice problems he puts online. If you're doing well on the practice quizzes you will do well on the actual quizzes/tests. He gives a lot of extra credit to those that attend class.

Honest opinion, if you plan to skip just one class dont do it. He will not give you any extra credit, or round your grade. The class is difficult bottom line but if you go to every class he will round and help your grade. Make sure to have good study habits from day 1 because it will build. Trig is a hard class regardless of who you take it with. Grigorian is a great professor and he gives out a lot of extra credit and really wants to see you succeed. Teaches Trig so that you don't need that stupid unit circle or a stupid calculator. I'm honestly so glad I took this professor, he made all the Trig parts of Calculus 1 so much easier! I haven't taken Calc 2 yet, so we'll see about that, but until then, take this professor, do the practice quizzes, all of them, and you'll do fine!

Pay attention, study, and go to class. These are rules for any class not just his. He goes out of his way to make sure you know the material so long as you seek his help. He spent five hours on a Sunday standing in a lecture hall because he wanted us to succeed. I'm glad I know I can feel confident in trig without a calculator.

Trig is a hard class regardless. This class is a lot better if you are already good at grasping math in general. Hes very intimidating but super caring. The main reason i got an A in this class is i went to his OFFICE HOURS. If you want to undertsand the material and the questions you need to go to him. He wants to see that you care. Show him that your not like other students and he will help you. He gives extra credit if you get a 75 and above, but only if you havent missed a single class.

Grigorian is strict, the material is difficult and if you skip class, you will fail. However, despite the rumors, he is a very kind, funny, and understanding man, and offers more extra credit than any other professor I've had, in my case 10-14% on exams! All you have to do to succeed is DON'T ANY MISS CLASSES OR QUIZZES and ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION.

There are a lot of mixed opinions about him but the truth is- you don't need to have any background in trig to pass the class AS LONG as you go to class and do the online optional homework he assigns. if you skip class, you won't be eligible for any extra credit. So make sure you go to every single class because he only gives extra credit to the students that doesn't miss class. Do the optional practices on mymath lab, it will save you!! Not a bad professor honestly, just be prepared to work hard to pass.

Grigorian is a great professor. You can pass this class AS LONG as you go to class and do all of the online assignments he posts. If you do those things you will do great. Gives lots of EC, but only if you have great attendance!!!!!!

If you pay attention during the beginning of the semester and understand the concepts, the rest of the class is a breeze. Show up to class (don't get on your phone), review the material that day, do the homework and optional assignments, and you will get an A. He doesn't make the class difficult with bizarre algebra, it's all conceptual.

I know a lot of people are struggling, and trust me so am I, but I know he cares about his students. It has been a very challenging course, but it made me a better student. I literally study for this class every day. I love his reviews because, again, it shows he actually cares. I think if you try and go to his office hours you will get an A.

If you go to lectures, take notes, pay attention, and participate in his class it's a solid start. The catch is a lot of time out of class is required to pass this course. I took this in the summer of '19 and studied a few hours every few days. In the fall/spring I would have studied a probably 7 hours a week, maybe more depending on the chapter.

It's a love hate relationship with grigorian. He knows how to present the concepts but he moves really fast and expects you to get to know it right then and there. DO NOT MISS A CLASS OR BE LATE! and NO PHONES! he will take away extra credit if you do or he will mark it as an absence. Gotta have tough skin to take him but he's sweet in office hours

Grigorian is notorious for being tough, but he is not so tough that you can't pass. He offers generous extra credit and provides lots of optional HW problems, so that you can pass if you put in the work. He moves through the material quickly, so spend time studying outside of class to do well. Tbh he is funny, caring, and overall a great guy, 10/10

Many students think of Grigorian is a boogeyman, but he's really a great professor. He cares so much about his students, he will still come to lecture even if he's in pain or sick (he's an old guy). He expects the same dedication from his students, but not many students have it. He gives lots of extra credit, but only if you have perfect attendance

Grigorian was not a bad teacher at all. All the people who withdrawed are blaming him, when they shouldn't. Trig is not an easy class with a lot that needs to be covered, what do people expect? I haven't heard of a math class at FSU that was "easy" and didn't have weekly quizzes. If people actually did all the optional HW, they would understand it.

Grigorian's class is 100% what you make of it. if you do the practice problems online, go to SKOOLERS (yes, seriously get the packets, it will save you) and always show up for class, i promise you will get an A. With all of his extra credit it's hard not to. But it's easy to fail if you don't use your resources. He seems scary but he means well.

Grigorian isn't the sweetest guy but he's a great professor. The exams are basically the quizzes/in class exercises with different numbers. But if you want an A, you will have to work for it. Pay attention in class and do the homework. Perfect attendance is awarded with TONS of extra credit on tests. Tutoring opportunities & LA's also help a ton.

Grigorian is a great teacher. Although it was a tough at first to understand his teaching methods, as time went on it became clear what he expected from his students. He posts a lot of extra practice problems which are super helpful with quizzes and exams. He offers many opportunities to raise your grade and has a lot of office hours.

Grigorian is a great teacher and honestly gets a bad rap. He comes off as mean but he is the nicest person in office hours. You have to study a lot and actually pay attention in class (and go to every single one) but his extra credit is insane! As long as you're showing effort, he genuinely wants to help you. Could not recommend him more!

Ishkhan was honestly a great professor and was only rude to those who were rude to him/went on their phones while he was teaching. You definitely have to work hard to do well, but I feel like that is the case in any trig class. LOTS of extra credit points too

Grigorian isnt as bad as people make him out to be. He gives extra credit if you get a certain grade on tests and yeah the class is hard, you have to study. Hes mentioned once that he is tough in order to help you in the future. I took him about a year ago and so far I can say hes right

I had a great experience in his class. Through really studying the lecture notes, studying with a friend every week, and doing all of the practice homework assignments, I never visited a TA or office hours and I still managed to pass with an A. Hard work really will secure your grade.

This class isn't easy, period. I went to Grigorian's office hours after every class and I still struggled a bit, his quizzes are harder than the tests. He is actually a very kind man he just asks to be respected, and he really does offer all the help he can give you. If you are lazy and disrespectful he will notice!

He is a very nice man but only if you show respect for him. He will go out of his way to help you pass, but if you are not doing well there is not much he can do. Gives a lot of extra credit but only if you are doing good on the tests. Utilize his office hours. Gives a lot of take home quizzes. DO NOT be on your phone. Homework is not mandatory.

Grigorian is actually a really nice professor and cares about his students. Yes, he is a strict about calculators but you really do not need a calculator to pass this class because the problems on quizzes and exams are given with easy numbers. He does reviews before exams and is helpful during his office hours. I struggled but I learned so much.

Mr Grigorian is just as difficult as people make him out to be. He moves fast and its easy to get left behind. However, as long as you put in the work, youll pass. He gives out a ton of extra credit, as long as you never (and I mean never) miss class. But be prepared to get like 10 percent of your grade back in extra credit.

A very difficult class but easy to be successful in if you attend every class (to gain the extra credit) and every review session. The review sessions is where i learned everything since he shows you short cuts that there just isn't time for in class. Simply attending the class isn't enough you'll need to ask questions to actually learn.

Honestly one of the most caring professors I've ever had. Struggled a little in the beginning, getting used to his accent and fast-pace teaching, but he listens to everything we say and really tried to accommodate us. If we ask him to slow down, he will. If we ask him to repeat himself, he will. Very alert of how his students are doing. Recommend!

In the beginning Professor Grigorian was tough but he is actually very sweet and cares about our grades. Theres a alot of extra credit and does 5 hour tests reviews. He doesnt take attendance but you do have to attend class to get a decent grade. He goes really fast but will slow down if you ask him to. Overall really great professor

Ishkan really does want his students to succeed, even if it means inflating our grades with extra credit assignments. He does his best and is a brilliant mathmetician. Show up to class, focus, do the extra credits and you could probably pull of a B. And be sure to do all the homework and practice tests(not graded).

this class is super difficult. H/e, if you really put in the time to do the practice exams (for XC) before the tests, go to EVERY class and the review sessions he holds before the tests, and actually try, it's do-able. In my experience, he wasnt nearly as mean/abrasive as people made him out to be, and genuinely cares about his students.

I was nervous to have Grigorian after reading all of his reviews, but if you do all of the optional homework (he gives a ton of questions for every section in MyMathLab, each question has a step-by-step example) and go to his Zoom review sessions (especially in the beginning of the semester), you'll be okay. He really cares about his students.

Grigorian gets a really bad rep from a lot of students, and if you go in with that mindset you will convince yourself that, but if you just buy into the class it's manageable. Paying attention to his lectures is EXTREMELY important and if you do that and the HW you should be golden for the exams. Also he's really nice and gives extra credit!

This course is extremely difficult. Professor Grigorian assigns a lot of work which may seem annoying but it really helps your grade. The tests are difficult but the lab quizzes are extremely difficult so make sure you study. He makes sure to help out the students that show up to everything. I can't stress this enough SHOW UP TO EVERYTHING.

Grigorian gets a bad wrap but in reality he cares about students. If you put in the effort like he explains then the class is truly a breeze.

Grigorian was very tough but also very knowledgeable. NEVER be late to his lecture. If you put in the work the class is manageable, otherwise it could be very difficult. I will never forget when he kept asking someone that came in late for their name. The person tried to hide and not answer but eventually Grigorian got the name haha.
