He's a very good professor who wants his class to succeed. Not only is he helpful in class, but he is available during his office hours, too. I would recommend his class.

He gives great lectures and he makes the class very interesting. He knows his stuff and he also has a great sense of humor. Do your homework and write your papers and you can make an "A" easy.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS CLASS AND HIM! He's an amazing teacher, very funny, energetic, clear, and lectures are right to the point. You can tell he loves teaching history. Makes class enjoyable, exams are good if you study the material given. Got an A in the class, one of my fave! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Mr. Kimbourgh was very cool. Great sense of humor. A cool study guide for the exams. Papers were easy "1 margin...he wasn't kidding.Cool and interesting assigned reading. Text reading wasn't completely necessary.I just wish he taught more classes. I would take him a 3rd time.

Prof. "K" is an excellent instructor. One will be challenged and learn at the same time in these two particular Hist. classes. Test are somewhat challenging, however, if you study a little and pay attention alot, and do your assignments you can get an "A" effort goes along way with this gorgeous professor.

This guy is a really cool prof!! Anyone can tell that he loves history and he makes it very interesting!! He's not one of those ppl who makes you stay in class all day !if you know what he's talking about than he'll let you out early!!

If you do the work, which isn't a lot, you will pass. Also, if you have an A by the end of the semester, you will receive a reward for your hard work.

My god! You have to take this guy. Hes really respectful. He is laid back and alot of fun. You'll have no problem staying awake in the morning classes. Pay attention, the test are little rough.

Great teacher, awesome lecturer. Tests were easy, specially since he gave us answers after we read the text for a bit. Very few assignments (which isn't always a good thing if you don't do them) and is pretty funny. I definetely suggest taking him.

excellent instructor, not only does he want his students to grasp the facts our history but how they formed who we are today, he would like his students to walk away with a greater appreciation for our country and a broader knowlegde of the rights and responsibilties as a citizen.

Prof. Kimbrough is the bomb! Made history fun and interesting, I really learned a lot. Grading is tough as it should be, but if you get an A in the class you do not have to take the final! Take the class, pay attention, read the book, ask questions, understand your writing assignment = A+

Good teacher - for having no interest in history at all it was a fairly interesting class. You have to take history, might as well take it with a good teacher. Recommended!

SOOOOOO easy! All you do is watch movies then compare it to the text book and write a paper. I think we wrote 3 papers all together, but trust me it's so easy! Since i turned in all my work i didn't have to take the final :)

If you want an easy A take this class. You will learn alot about African American History if you actually attend and it is very interesting. This class was so easy it wasn't even funny. He gives you a mult. cho study guide with act. exam ques(70 ques, 50 on exam) before each exam, and gives you the pg #'s to find the answers. Memorize it, easy A.

He's awesome. The test he given out were take home. There is no way to flunk that, and the answers are from the book. He's easy on grammar, but as long you mention what he though on the lectures.

This class was so much fun, all we did was watch movies and compare it to the textbook and write essay's. he will ask you for questions, if you don't have any he will start asking questions. Easy teacher, very helpful. i would take him over and over..I will miss this class!!!

Professor Kimbrough is a very articulate and outstanding history teacher. He has taught me things about black history that should have been learning in my junior high and high school years. Mr. K reminds me of my 7th grade history teacher who always made sure his students participate in class discussions and did well on the tests.

If you want to learn African American History take Mr. Kimbrough. He makes sure that you finish the class very knowledgeable and on fire for more history. Great Professor, Good looking and very smart.

I have never been interested in history but this has got to be the easiest history class I have ever taken. He is awesome. Do all of your homework and extra credit and it will pay off at the end of the semester...trust me!

MR.K IS A REALLY I MEAN REALLY GREAT TEACHER. HE IS HELPFUL AND HIS TEST ARE EASY. HIS TEACHING STYLE IS VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND TOO. IF U WANT TO PASS JUST DO THE WORK.

Guys you know what if you want to just pass history take him no matter what. Really easy class, i mean easy A do your work. Three papers and two essay all take hOmE. nothing in class. if you have an before the final then you don't have to take the final. PLEASE GO FOR HIM. YOU WILL NEVER SEE HISTORY PROFESSOR LIKE HIM. Really cool and laid back guy. He is really knowledgeable about the subject. However, that being said, he tends to preach a lot; unfortunately, more than he lectures. If you really want an easy A, take his class. If you want to learn something take another class.

In regard to the prior rating, I pressed the wrong spot. Professor Kimbrough has excellent quality in teaching and teaches with outstanding clarity.

HE IS LAID BACK AND SOME PEOPLE SEEM TO THINK ABOUT HIM GOING OFF SUBJECT BUT WHEN HE DOES THIS HE BRINGS IT ALL TOGETHER TO KEEP THE SUBJECT IN TACT,I LOVE THIS CLASS AND AM PLANING ON TAKING HIS NEXT COURSE,I AM NOT EVEN SURE OF MY GRADE YET BUT WHATEVER IT IS IT'S ACCEPTABLE,MAYBE I JUST NEED TO STUDY MORE TO GET THAT A THAT I WANT.

Everything that is due in this class are in essay form. It doesn't even have to be in MLA format or correct grammar ( for the most part). There is extra credit every week and if you turn it in for sure youll pass.

Its a good class, but if you're a history major like me you'd learn more by reading the book. That aside, when he does teach and hes not talking about the 49ers, you learn a lot. Very chill, show up or not show up, your choice.

Just finished taking this course. Second time I take a class with Kimbrough and again it was super fun and easy. He is a very good instructor and his classes are not difficult. I honestly love him. He really cares about the students and he's funny so class isn't boring. You don't need the book. Passed with an A.

Easiest class at Bakersfield College. He has students read a lot, but it is fun. He is a good professor.

he's a super laid back teacher. i recommend him to everyone i know that needs a history class. You read one book and to be honest you don't really even need it. His tests are exactly like the review, so if you study the review you'll ace the class. If you have an A in the class you don't even have to do the final for his class.

Easiest history class you'll ever take. His African American history is simple, show up, read a book, answer some questions, and take 3 tests in total. The study guide is exactly like the test so don't miss it! That's really the only reason I went to Ckass

He's a pretty decent teacher. He certainly knows his stuff. He's very inspirational and you can tell he wants the best for the nation, as he tries to inspire students, the future of America. He also actually tries to get to know the class to deliver the knowledge more effectively.

No tests, only papers. Easy grader. Extra credit weekly. If you do all the extra credit and have an A in the class, he'll excuse you from the final. He tries to make history relevant. Most classes are spent watching movies or shows or just talking about current events. He lets you out early most days. Definitely not a traditional teacher.

Show up to class, learn and do the work. He gives exams which you can take home, a lot of writing. Easy grader. Great lectures. "Do the extra credit!". Watch a few films and then write an essay on it. Easy class as long as you turn in your work and extra credit, guaranteed an A!

Attendance is important, lectures are very interesting, he makes the class go by fast. Movies are very interesting and HW assignments are mainly Essays (very easy topics). DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!!! YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!!! Easy class overall!

Professor Kimbrough is not your average professor. His lecturing style is different than what i'm used to. Instead of just having a full lecture, he likes to touch on certain subjects, and relates the material to current events. Likes to play movies. There is a Lot of writing, but fair grader. Very approchachable. Great class for GE requirements.

I recommend him. He is an easy A. He is passionate about history and do the extra credit and only 4 papers. If you get an A you don't have to do the final. Show up and try and you will pass. I would definitely take his class again.

he only gave 4 pages of hw which is basically writing what your thoughts were on a chapter book he assigned for reading. besides the 4 reflection papers their isn't homework. If u have an A you don't have to take the final. by far easiest A ever. he gives study guides before each exam (3) and you just have to memorize the answers and ull be fine

His class is pretty easy. It's kinda fun. He gives you study guides before each test and the papers you write are basically just based on your opinion. Honestly if you just try, you should be okay.

He assigned 4 papers total (3 papers being only more than 2 pages required and the 4th being the midterm so more than 4 pages). Redo's are sometimes aloud. The book really helps if you struggle with history. He's an overall great teacher 10/10. There was no final in my class and/or no HW except reading. Easy to talk to in and outside of class!

Kimbrough is probably the one of the best professors at BC. Come to class with an open mind and be prepared to enlightened.

With professor Ishmael Kimbrough you do five papers. Two on a film, two over chapters you read in the book, and the last is the final exam also base on chapters in the book. You do not need to take much notes with him everything is based of the book. So yes you do need the book no access code is required. Would totally recommend.

HANDS DOWN the best professor I've ever had in my life. His class is unconventional so if you aren't disciplined you'll might slack off and forget about assignments. He is by no means a tough teacher though, in my opinion he brings the best out of his students in class.

If youre a pretty girl then this class is EASY! He is funny and doesnt assign much work. You use the one textbook required but on your own time.

He was the funniest guy ever! Only 4 two page papers, which was all opinion based from the textbook reading but I didnt even read just skimmed. No homework. He handed out the exams for the study guide so we only had to memorize them. Always let us out early. Easy A just do the work and youll pass. You wont regret taking him. Simple class.

I took him over the summer. His class is super easy. I finished all the work in the first three weeks. The professor does not have too much involvement. There is quite a bit of busy work but it is really easy and not very time consuming.

Super easy grader but quite some homework (not an impossible amount but a bit above average). However, he takes forever to grade things. There are 8 chapters and he will wait until the last few weeks to even grade, but he basically grades all your coursework from the beginning in one sitting. Also, he usually doesn't respond to your emails.

Professor Kimbrough is one of the most gifted professors I've ever had. He is a fantastic speaker, and his lectures are super interesting. He inspired me to learn more about American history than any other professor. He is very helpful, kind and fair with all of his students, so his class was an all round great experience.

Took this class online and he is very unorganized. Wont get back to you when u email him. Updates u very last minute BUT if you are just looking for an easy A or GE filler this is the class for u. Everything is on quizlet or chegg. Take his class online bc idk how demanding he is in person lol. Really don't need the book bc answers are online.

If you are good at using the internet, then you should have no problem passing. Attendance is optional, all work is online, and he is a cool guy with an enjoyable class if you decide to show up. I always did homework while he lectured and used his class time as a study hall. You can join in on conversations, ask questions, and/or just chill.

He is a great professor, very caring. Lectures were never boring. He cancels class often but it doesnt affect you. There is a lot of reading and weekly tests with 30 questions multiple choice. The exams cover 4-5 chapters each with 100 questions and 2/ 2:40 hrs depends. About 10 writing questions, you must go quick to at least finish the exam.
