I has Ismail for Chem 101 lab and had a great time. He's very informative of what needs to be done, helpful, approachable, and very knowledgeable. His grading is somewhat lenient, but he won't just let you slide. If you get him for lab, you're in good hands.

Dr. ismail is very experienced in the engineering field. everything we talked about in class was something he had worked with and could give us an application. he's test are not easy. they require you to be prepared because the time in the test goes by really fast. He always tries to help his students, but you have to seek the help.

Best well aducated professor at AVC. Nice sweet and extremely helpfull, never turns you down. Tough course but he makes it easy for you with many useful applocations. Extra bonus points. This is the hardest course I've ever had in sy life, BUT the instructor with his personality and teaching approach makes it acceptable and enjoyable! Long HWs covers everything engineers do: typing reports, doing math, excel professional technical problems, giving a PP presenation and doing THREE projects. Very rich course, lots of work, lots of fun, lots of learning. Nice decent professor, vey helpful and optimistic-always smiling and jocking. His teaching style takes a little time to get used to, but in the end, I loved the way he explained things, to make learning the material easier. Be sure to ask him questions, because he loves answering them!

Dr. Ismail has amazing ways in explaining science and engineering.I took his CHEM-101 Lab, ENGR-110 and ENGR-130 lectures. As subjects became complicated, he performed better because he masters the disciplines. He uses quick hilarious sense of humor to ease out tense atmosphere of difficult engineering problems. This is a hard-to-find professor.

When the semester began I hated chemistry but now at end of final exam I realized how fun chemistry could be specially for nurses. This is hard course.it takes several hours every week to do HW's. Dr.Ismail made it fun and enjoyable for students. Very capable and helpful and understanding students' needs. He is probably my favorite professor ever. Took him Fall '12 and no one has matched his charm. His class is a bit hard if you don't like chem BUT no fear, he is very helpful and explains everything. He will clarify all your questions so don't be afraid to ask. His labs are easy and his tests are not bad as long as you study. His class is a blast.

Dr I I is heavily experienced and fun Professor. I had him for lab only. He gave us an intensive focused review before each experiment. He said (in his funny way): "you study my lab review, you excel in lab, you do hw for lecture very well, you pass lecture test with a "C" and grandma will give you more$$". I listened to him and I got "B". Amazing!

Dr. Ismail is probably the nicest professor you will ever meet but he is reaching the worst most difficult course in college. He is great, the course is not and requires something like 7 hours to study at home. The tests and quizzes look tough but when he explains it is easy. Great instructor teaching crazy chemistry. Great easy going professor. Well organized and clear explantions:he uses the board then repears with power point slides. He followed the syllabus exacly as stated but added several bonus pop ups and assgnments to boost grades. You realy learn a lot in this class and you have to study hard, much harder than chem-101. CHEM-110 is the most difficult course I have taken at AVC. But with highly qualified professor like Dr Ismail, it becomes reasonable. Course needs a lot of hours every week and you still forget the information. It becomes worse as you take more chapters! He give pop Q and bonus points but you have to earn them (easily). He takes good care of you.

Only problem: chem110 was very difficult to me & I had to study 8-10 hours every week. Thanks Dr. With his help, I was happy to get my "B". Now I understand chemistry.

Dr II is such a nice decent guy, all students love him. He is brilliant in explaining chemistry and the heavy mass and equatios. When grades are down, he pulls a pop quizz (extra points) on you so you can score extra free points. He is good, very good with minorities and disabled. Had him as a substitute. WOW! The computer was not cooperative with him so he ended up giving 80 minute crystal clear lecture right of the top of his head. He didn't look at a book, didn't have any paper in his hand. Communicated very well with students, answered all questions. Great sense of humor. HW was a piece of cake after his lecture.

Dr Ismael cares very much about his students, a lot more than they care about themselves. Honest, straightforward, determined with great sense of humor. He writes fantastic colorful board, ONLY one board covering the entire lecture! Nice and decent, wearing the most expensive perfumes money can buy. He xplains Things in 2-3 differet ways. Get him!

I LOVED this man. I'm sad I only had him for lab but he understands everything about Chem and will try his best to help you too. I recommend him 100%. Expect a weekly quiz, and a whole lecture in lab. I promise you'll never leave early lol, but that's ok because he takes his time to go over EVERYTHING for you. Love him and his class. Take him!

Ismail was such a fun teacher! He made Chem 101 very easy to learn and he does it in a way that makes you laugh if you have an upbeat attitude about things. Lots of homework, but it's manageable. Would highly recommend.

Chem-110 is tough and difficul:I spent 8-10 hours a week, got A! Dr. Ismail made it easy and fun, he gave 3 h review for final exam and covered most difficult parts in each chapter. He gave 7 pop quizzes to earn free extra points. This is how I boosted my grade. Very caring loving/loveable person who wants you to excel in life.

Took chem101 with Dr Ismail, loved him and his clear lectures. Took chem110 with him, I adored him. Waiting to take chem120 with him. The only problem is that his classes fill quicly and you have to wait too long. It's worth it. Where else can you find such a competent confident charming professor like dr Ismail with smiles at all times!
