Ismet Ozkilic is a great teacher. He knows what works to get the students interested in the material. He helps in anyway he can with assignments(short of giving the answer straight out). The only problem I had in the class was the % rate for the final was to stressful, and hindered my thinking on final.(55% of the grade was the final.)

The professor helped me to improve my English skill, and he was available for questions and mentoring sessions. He brought very interesting materials to the class.

Great teacher, but should make grading on assignments progressively harder as the semester goes on instead of being strict with grading from the beging. This would allow the student to progress with the class instead of being discourage from the begining.

In high school I was not taught the proper techniques to write a critique or research paper but with the help of Professor Ozkilic I believe that I am now a better writer. What I really loveD about the course was how open it was. He made voicing our opinions fun. And I think for that reason everybody respects him.

Definitely not an easy teacher. However, he's extraordinarily helpful if you're actively trying to improve your writing. Has a tendency to break off into tangents several times a week; though, they manage to keep things fun. He goes easier on your grade if you actively try and seek his help. I will never forget the time I wrote a thesis statement on the whiteboard in front of the entire class, and after reading it, Doctor Ozkilic erased everything but two words... It was embarrassing, and it hurt, but I ended up learning how to write an incredible thesis because of demonstrations like that. 100% worth it. Can not recommend enough!

Cons: Community college students have no business peer editing each other. That should be taken out of his course. Pros: He clearly has an extreme knowledge of writing. English101 was not easy(ask for help& its easier).I passed with a great grade. Hes available on zoom to help twice a week which is fair enough since he answers emails asap(includes assignment questions). Bc of his teaching, I learned what I needed to. This professor is very helpful and kind. He is not a harsh essay grader and most of the credit in the class came from discussion post and responding/interacting with your peers. Good class, very clear and concise grading and what he expects out of your work. If you don't understand something he will go over it with you and if you make any mistakes he tells you what needs fixing and comments on every single piece of work.

As an adult learner, I respect and understand his teaching style. Over the 15 weeks, my critical thinking and writing have improved. I truly enjoyed the class

Dr. Ozkilic's lectures are up beat and light-hearted while still being informative and interesting. He makes time to answer every question and get his students on the right path while still being fun. Moderate amount of reading and writing. Completely in line for the course. Just do the course work and participate. The rest will fall into place.

An excellent professor that encourages students to think deeply about the class material. Requires students to engage and apply themselves, the work is easier if a genuine interest is taken. Much can be learned through the assignments that can be applied to personal and scholarly development. A pleasure to be a student of.

This professor was very fair with grading. Offered positive feedback on assignments to strengthen work which reflected in my final grade. The professor was easy to communicate with. Always answered emails within 24 hours. I would definitely take a course with this professor again.

The last video we watched in class was honestly the best part of the class. I learned a lot and am glad I had him for English 102.

He is very lenient and grades late work, only knocks it down by one letter grade, A -> A-

I keep seeing students say how harsh of a grader he is but he really isn't! He really cares for his students and wants them to succeed. If you put in effort and show that you care about the class, your grade will reflect. Participation is part of your grade so keep that in mind!!

This online class was very well structured. Their were no surprises and the course was easy to follow along with. The professor was very understanding when I was traveling outside of the country and gave me ample additional time to submit my assignments.
