(had her for 2B also)She was an amazing professor. Lots of assignments and essays, but she's very flexible so if you're having any trouble, just talk to her, she'll help you out. She's very nice and I'm glad I had the chance to take her for my spanish courses.

Very nice and social teacher! Shes very easy going and kind hearted. She takes one on one time with students. Attendance was a pain but you show up and you get more than half of your participation points. Her tests were simple as long as you know somewhat spanish. However, the Quia program on the computer was a bit stressful.

Very nice professor, loved her!!! She's understanding of her students, does anything to help them and makes them participate. A lot of writing but not hard at all 1-2 page papers, journals, and two presentations...must really know how to speak and write spanish well though.

If you need to take a spanish class take her if you can. Nice, helpful, smart and very reasonable when it comes to assignments.

Class was so easy. All you do is pretty much talk about topics or assigned readings. 3 Cultural Activities. 1 Group presentation. 3 Journals. 3 small papers.

Her lectures are interesting but have discussions among class. Have hw assignments but easy and simple. Overall class is a great experience real eye opener. One midterm, final several quizzes, 3 journals, 3 papers & one final paper. Professor great attitude towards students and very helpful. She wants you to succeed and makes sure you do.

Awesome class. She is a great teacher. She naturally allows you to get to know your classmates and everyone feels safe in her class. You learn a lot about Hispanic culture. Eye opener in many of the issues covered. Great class even if you not Hispanic.

Great class to take. she is really passionate about teaching this subject. she cares a lot about her students and is very understanding. She will also joke with students. As long as you follow the readings it should be an easy A.

i love her! shes really the only teacher you will find that cares for her students, if you would need anything outside of the class she is there for you. the class is fun and lets out early if in night class. easy a but a lifetime teacher

She is a great compassionate teacher! Class was super relaxed and she made sure that we were all comfortable with each other. If this was my major I would have her for more classes.

She goes above and beyond to make the classroom a comfortable setting. Dont need to buy any textbooks since a majority of the material you need will be available on blackboard. She also encourages class participation during discussions (even if it isnt perfect spanish). I really enjoyed her this semester. Such a sweet lady, Id highly recommend.

She's okay. She is very stubborn & wants thinks her way. You have to approve with everything she says. She teaches students what too think instead of how to think.

I recommend her as a professor. Class is pretty easy just do the work. Participation is sort of crucial she picks on students for opinions on material. I do not think she is stubborn, she is actually objective she lets you express your own opinion and does not interject. Exams are based off material you read and material she presents.

The easiest class you can take at Fresno State. Easy assignments and homework. You are required to read, but the readings are short and easy to understand. Midterm is based on the readings and the final is one easy presentation.

Professor Sanders is the best professor I took as a student at Fresno State. She is very understanding and very attentive with her students. She uses her experiences in a positive way and makes the class very engaging and interesting! Her tests are very simple and the readings are simple as well. I highly recommend Sanders.

Enjoyable class, some reading to do and some class participation but nothing that will ruin your semester. I actually would look forward to her classes since you learn about culture from different aspects. Potlucks once a month. This is how a G.E. should be, not too much work, but also learn something in an entertaining kind of way.

Dr Sands is my favorite professor. She can teach you to speak Spanish in a unique way. I love her class. You need a textbook, and need to take notes and study. Many examens are based on what you learned and you must be able to write out clear sentence structure (in Spanish) on them. I feel she overlooks petty mistakes, so as to keep you confident.

Read the poems, stories and books because it will help a lot on the quizzes. She really takes the time to educate the students more about the culture. Many discussions in class where your opinion matters. Group presentations from your desk, nothing too serious. She is kind, understanding and helpful. I recommend, highly!

4 short papers(1-2 pages), midterm over the readings & videos, final is a group presentation, attend 2 cultural events. Its a Spanish class, she encourages you to practice the language but you can still speak & write in English. Loves group decisions & class participation. Dr. Sands is soft spoken, nice, knowledgeable teacher. Strongly recommend!

Profesora Sands is a great professor. She is caring for her students and her class is really entertaining. However the class does require a lot of reading and papers based on the readings. The papers are quite easy but they do require a good amount of time. Her grading is not to harsh. Good class to take.

I really enjoyed her class. You do have to read, but the reading assignments are short easy reads. Speaking Spanish is not mandatory, but participation is. She gives a lot of online quizzes and essays. Cancels classes pretty often during my semester.

By far one of the best professors at Fresno State. She is so inspirational, motivational, and understanding. There are readings in this class, however, for the most part, the readings are very short and very interesting. Study Abroad Rate: Dra Sands is an incredible person. She truly cares about her students. I went on the study abroad class with her and it was amazing. Spain is beautiful. Dra Sands is definitely the person you want accompanying you while you visit Europe.

Dr. Sands is AMAZING! She teaches in Spanish but if you are more fluent in English and have a hard time speaking and writing in Spanish she will let you do all your projects in English! This can be an easy A or B if you show up to class everytime and do your work. And I can assure you, you will want to take her again at the end of the semester!

Dra. Sands is a great professor, the way she teaches is very interesting and all topics discussed are relevant. The online homework is always quick, just do the reading and you will be fine. We only had one real test for the midterm and it wasn't bad. She is very accommodating and makes the class easier on those who prefer to speak in English.

Shes great. Shes very laid back. You always do something every day according to the hwk you read. Class is more of a discussion of understanding the material read. Test were easy if you went to class and participated. Shes a great example of a Latina with power, would definitely take again. Easy and you learn, everything you want from a class.

So easy. If you need an IC course, take Spanish 125 with her! You will not regret it! The class itself is mainly discussions and movies. She also cancels class super often. She is very caring and it's just a fun, relaxed class. Take it! Easy A.

Very easy class and great professor. There are a lot of small readings that need to be done before class. Reading is important for class discussions and quizzes (6 on blackboard ). Also, a couple of essays and one group essay. There is a midterm exam which is really easy if you read and went to class. The final is a presentation in groups.

She is awesome, understandable . And fun!!! I would take her again ! All the quizzes r on bb only midterm in class. For presentation u dont have to get up and one group presentation super easy and lots of papers but they are small.

Loved her! Shes so kind and lovely. Speaks in Spanish in case you are not a speaker. You can do papers and projects in English too. I loved being in her class she was so nice I love her so much! Had 3 papers I think, about 3 pages each. 1 a month but really easy. Midterm questions based on books, final was a short essay. Wonderful professor.

I really enjoyed taking Professor Sands class. She is very caring, understanding, and an overall great person. I'm not sure whether attendance was mandatory as she did take roll often but that was never factored into the grades. There are a few assignments but its very manageable. I highly recommend this professor.

probably the best professor at Fresno State, truly cares about the students and explains the readings, poems and movies that we watch/read. Very interesting class learning about machismo, Mexico/Central/South America and mental health, makes you want to interact with the class and the projects are truly amazing/easy. 10/10 would totally recommend.

Professora Sands is so sweet, I recommend you take this class with her. She lets you finish your assignments either in English or Spanish. Overall easy upper GE class.

Sands is the most caring professor I have had at State and loves to discuss the readings in class to ensure all her students are caught up. The readings and assignments do get a bit tiring as the semester progresses but all assignments are totally manageable. She does allow you to do all the assignments in English for those who struggle in Spanish

Professor Sands is amazing her class is very easy and fun you mostly have class discussions on canvas as hw or a paper that's pretty short. She usually extends due dates and is very accommodating. She allows you to write in English and Spanish and doesn't deduct points. She has a few quizzes in regards to poems and books.

The professor really cares about all her students. There is reading and a lot of films to watch but all the content is interesting. She gives enough time to complete assignments. If you can make sure to take her!! You will not regret it

One of the books for this class can be found online free but the other you can purchase. We had two group projects but they were easy ! Also, she lets you chose spanish or english :)

I love Profesora Sands! She is so nice and caring with her students. Whenever I needed extra time on an assignment, she would grant it to me and still give me full credit. The assignments are not very hard. In fact, they can be interesting. Probably the "hardest" part was reading one of the required books in Spanish.

Dr. Isolina is an awesome professor she very caring and always wants the best for her students. She is very understanding with students. I would totally recommend Dr. Isolina we did have group presentation which were not bad. lots of reading which is good and very interesting books. Work is do able and you should not have any problems.

Class is super easy, just make sure you at least understand Spanish because she definitely uses her Spanish 99.9% of the time and encourages you to speak, read, and write Spanish. A couple of students dropped the class initially because they did not understand the language. Overall, her class is very inspirational and at times emotional.

She's amazing, I would take her just because she is amazing to talk to. The course itself is not difficult at all. She appreciates the effort you give. We have mandatory reading every week, or you won't do well on the exams, but they're all really interesting and fun to read. I 100% recommend her class!

Professor Sands was an easy grader. Be prepared to write discussions based off books and poems but honestly summaries helped me a lot. 3 paper, 3 quizzes, final project. Literally got 100% in the whole class since she was such an easy grader. Answers emails quickly and is super nice when you have questions. I would definitely recommend to take her.

So far during this semester i have nothing but good things to say about the professor. If you do the work and readings everting will be straight forward. Take this course as the readings and movies we watch are very interesting as well. Everything does need to be in Spanish though as it is a Spanish class so beware of that.

Amazing instructor who cared about the students and their work. If you ask for help she is more than welcome to do so and is very accessible. There is a lot of reading and videos but I did not mind as they were all interesting and reflecting.

I love this professor. All her exams where easy she is very understanding. I wish there where more reading because I love reading but it was mostly discussion and she canceled most of her classes.

Class is not hard, the only thing I suggest is make sure you get good partners when it comes to doing presentations, that's the only issue. The exams and quizes are in computer, make sure you read the books to pass with an A not hard. The final is a PowerPoint presentation creativity gives extracredit.

Dr. Sands is an amazing professor. She is very patient, understanding, kind, and always willing to help her students. There are readings/videos posted on canvas along with discussions. Two writing assignments based on the books required, one midterm and a final presentation. By far one of the best classes I took. I would recommend her to anyone. :)
