not interested in teaching...doesn't care if students learn the iformation or not.
Pretty good teacher, had him for summer A. he gave take home quizzes and has pre-written notes online that are helpful...you still have to read the book. As a guy he's pretty cool, laid back didn't make me want to fall asleep in class. I would take him again.
Had Summer A. Great guy! Laid back and funny. Print out his Power Point Notes and add as you are in lecture. Also, READ, READ, READ! If I were to do it over again I would take Elements of Chem and Microbiology first. The Physiology is detailed.
Had Summer A. Great guy! Laid back and funny. Print out his Power Point Notes and add as you are in lecture. Also, READ, READ, READ! If I were to do it over again I would take Elements of Chem and Microbiology first. The Physiology is detailed. No matter what prof you get, it is gonna be a grind.
This is the only class he teaches at Santa Fe. He is clearly not interested in the success of his students, it appears he is only here for the extra money. Does not allow review of tests. Moves up the test dates leaving little time to study. Tests are worded obscurely and too much information is covered per test. 5 or more chapters per unit.
If you want to learn Anatomy, like many of us nursing majors NEED because we are going to use this forever, DO NOT take him. You will come out of this class having learned absolutly nothing! Teachers like him could care less if you have learned anything. My class started with 25+ and ended with 8. Save your time and money.. pick another teacher!!
AVOID, Especially for a half semester (unless your great at learning on your own). Really nice but he might as well not even be there. The material he provides is stolen from other teachers online and not even using the same book!
Well, if you don't like to attend school and you like to learn on your own, this is certainly the class for you! You will gain more knowledge not even wasting your time to go to class and study on your own. Reads DIRECTLY from powerpoint, which most people can do at their own desks. I have a C but may take it again, since I learned NOTHING.
DON'T TAKE MITCHELL IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER CLASSES! To learn anything you have to teach yourself at home. But attendance is a grade on its own so you have to attend his classes. Also, he makes tests unbelievably difficult even though A&P is hard enough on its own! The departmental final is easier than any of his tests.
The bulk of work is placed on the student which is fine if you have a few semesters under your belt and are a self-starter/motivator, have had some bio classes prior. Not highly recommended but helpful if you have tough skin. Only take with 1 other class if you can manage. Adjusts test scores after scored, sometimes a grade-saving opportunity.
This is a difficult class no matter who you take. His tests are very difficult! Study read and do the study guides! Otherwise he is a great guy but this is a hard class. NOT AN EASY A!
THe class is tough because of the amount of material covered. He knows his subject and does a good job forwarding his knowledge onto his students. The tests were hard but fair and he gives ample extra credit to boost your grade. Only problem I thought was that we were on our own during the lab portion making difficult to excel in lab practicals.
Good guy. Very entertaining and gives lots of help when you ask. Doesn't assign a lot of pointless homework all of it helps you on the test. Lab is kinda boring. Fixes tests to help you out if he made something unclear or if a lot of people got the same questions wrong. His tests helped on the final.
TERRIBLE!!!I would never recommend him. Slides and Book never relate to test questions. BEWARE!!!
Look, A&P is a hard course, no matter who is teaching. You gotta put in the hours. Israel is a great teacher, very fair and will help out if you need something clarified. Tests are fair, although one covered too many chapters, and even that was adjusted for a fair grade. I would recommend this professor if you are serious about A&P.
Great guy and really cares about his student's success. Tests are hard but it prepared us for the final which turned out to be a piece of cake. Funny and makes class interesting. If you want to do well, show up to class because he does many extra credit pop quizzes. Also whatever you do, READ the book.
Put in the time and you will be fine.
Very cool teacher, but some of his teaching weren't very clear.
I would avoid this teacher.. I'm a very good student who studies a lot and I am having the hardest time in this class. If you don't print out the notes, you're screwed since he just flies through the power points during class. His teaching is not clear at all. He's a nice guy, so it's not personal, it's just that he doesn't get the message across.
He does not make sense. If you ask him a question, he'll jump around it and make it seem as if he answered it just to sound like he knew the answer. His working does not make sense
Tests are hard, but he offers a lot of extra credit that brings up your grade. He adds a lot to his powerpoints during lecture that you need to know for tests. The book is needed for labs, but I never really used it to study for tests. Most material was from the powerpoint and lecture. Crash Course videos on youtube really helped me do better.
Israel was a great guy, but teacher not so much. He just reads off the textbook generated power points, and does not provide any in depth info on the material. Lab was pointless, he didnt go over any of the models. Also, the tests were not really relevant to the material presented. However, he was fair with grading and making adjustments in class.
He's alright. Reads from the textbook provided slides and doesn't add too much from his own experiences. Goes over exams and homework in class to see why students missed the questions they did. Limited lab time as he likes to lecture during lab.
You have to virtually teach yourself. There is no guide line for test, you just have to memorize all 300 slides for each exam. Other than exams, land and the clonnect assignments arent bad. Wouldnt recommend though.
He gives take home assignments before every test which are free points, clear power points in every lecture and the labs are fill in by yourself. He is very funny and teaches like your friend explaining anatomy to you. I thought the actual info was easy but I took anatomy in highschool. Tests are fairly short and easy, 1 take home on a holiday week
I found him to be a great teacher and fair as far as grading. Gives you the opportunnity to argue points if you don't think your test score was accurate. Puts his own personal spin on the material which helped me absorb it better. I would definitely take this instructor again.
Professor Mitchell is a good teacher with a lot of knowledge. He allows his students to ask questions and participate in the lecture. He is very clear about expectations on assignments. ANP is a lot of work, but he makes it fun. He doesn't give a ridiculous amount of work. Just enough so you can learn what you need to know while studying.
Mostly your grade depends on the tests and I dropped the class because I couldn't pass the tests at more than a 55% to save my life He constantly cuts class short but rushes through the next lecture to make up for lot teaching time in the previous classes HW isn't worth many points but it takes 2-3 hours an assignment and 2-3 assignments weekly
He's a very nice teacher BUT his teaching skills are awful. He get off topic A LOT. His tests are based off of what he talks about in class, not his notes. It take HOURS to do the homework. He's fair when grading tests but his tests can be tricky with his wording. The labs DO NOT go with his notes and he don't use the book. IT WAS FRUSTRATING!
One of my favorite professors, I wish he taught A&P 2 in the spring! If you come to class you learn everything you need to know for the tests. Very organized and he gives chances to debate test questions after the test for extra points. Lively and makes the class fun!
Great professor! Very fair, excellent lectures and extremely organized class curriculum! He made a challenging course as simple as possible. Highly recommend, just stay on top of material and an A is totally achievable.
P. Mitchell is an amazing person, I really enjoyed his classes when we were not talking about anatomy. He made this class more compicated. He never gave extra credits and even when he says "attendance is not mandatory" if you miss a lecture, you are screwed.
good professor easily approachable but his tests are on whats covered in class not in the notes l. ab assignments do little to help when studying. very tough grader give plenty of time to do homework but it takes HOURS to complete the assignments.
Professor Mitchell is a great professor. He makes the class interactive, allowing students to discuss materials. The homework can take a while to complete, but its done in note form which is helpful for tests/final. After tests he allows the class to go over and debate questions, and can award extra points to test grades.
I took his class during the summer and loved it. He makes sure to not talk about things that won't be tested (which is so nice). Make sure you study for the tests though! He was super accommodating with an issue I had over the summer, and I still managed to get an A in the class.
The subject is interesting but expansive, so be ready to study. He didn't really teach in-depth, and would sometimes of assignments about subjects he hadn't taught. If you do some reading out of class, it's easy to learn the topic and get a good grade, but I want a teacher who is excited to teach and interactive and engaging. Jokester
The subject is already hard and having an instructor that does a poor job of teaching the subject in a way that is understandable didn't help. He would cut lecture early a lot or would teach during lab and it felt like he was just rushing to get out of class asap. You will have to do a lot of self teaching in this course.
I really enjoy his teaching style very much. Firstly, he is able to take difficult material and make it very understandable. Also, he gets up and is able to speak on this material for an hour straight without any notes or anything. It's like a symphony. I don't think a lot of students know how truly impressive that is. To know the material thatwell
Teaches straight off the PowerPoint and its hard to know what to study because he just gives lots of info off the PowerPoint. Very nice family guy tho
The midterm was a big yikes. Quite the overload. Exams are fair. There is a lot of homework but much time to complete them and it's all open book. For some reason, it is still tricky for me. But that is on me. I have no complaints about him directly. He is a great guy, funny, and respectful (even to those not towards him). I highly recommend him.
Professor Mitchell was a great professor, he gives you PowerPoints to do your study guides on a he elaborates them in a way you will understand during class. Most of his grading is study guides that take a while, but are extremely helpful if you actually study them. If you go to class, and use the given study guided you'll pass the course.
Mr. Mitchell was a great professor. He gave us a lot of homework and labs and a lot of time for us to complete them. He's a great and friendly guy and has good lectures. His tests are pretty big and pretty difficult (If you don't study and prepare yourself).
Mitchell is part-time, enough said. He does not care how his students do, he's just getting a second check. He cuts class short, puts stuff on the powerpoints we don't need to know, and still blabs about it. It is an incredibly fast-paced course and the exams are typically two weeks apart which only gave us 2-3 class periods per unit. Do not rec!
Definitely not my favorite professor. Mitchell is super nice and wants all his students to pass but he doesn't really make himself available. He is an adjunct professor and prioritized his other job. Anatomy and Physiology is a difficult subject to begin with and it's hard to learn from someone who is just cramming the info in your brain for tests.
He lectures during lab time instead utilizing lab time, then acted all confused when most of us failed the lab midterm. His assignments are a lot and does not link to what is on his exams. What is beyond terrifying is he is sending most of the students into the medical/healthcare field with very little knowledge from what he taught.
Would recommend on taking!!
This professor was great. He really tried to make sure student had the information necessary to succeed in class. You do have to put in extra effort to prepare for test, but all the material is there.
Not the professor for everyone, but if you understand his teaching style, you can get an A Pros- A lot of areas to do HW and assignments to help bolster your grade. Can argue for points back on tests as well. Cons- Lectures and labs aren't super clear so must want to take independent initiative for outside resources. Not transparent with lab grades
All though I like professor Mitchell as a person, I really did not enjoy his teaching style. He often utilizes lab time for lectures and wondered why we did not do well on the lab practical exams. I don't think he lectured or answered questions very clearly, Overall he wasn't bad, but I wouldn't recommend.
Israel Mitchell made Anatomy seem not as hard as it is. He goes over a lot of important details in lecture and gives us helpful study tips! I would take him again for Anatomy 2.
This professor is very organized and informational for many of the exams and lab exams, he gives you all the resources and especially with tests gives you half sometimes the whole test to remember for an easy A, I definitely recommend him as a professor
Professor Mitchell was an amazing professor and really cared for his students and their grades! He offered lots of chances for students to receive extra credit. He was honest and made sure to give us lots of homework, take home quizzes, PowerPoint questions etc to make sure that we succeed. If you study hard and look over notes you should be fine!
Participation is important because he says when information will be a test question. He is extremely easy compared to my other stem courses like gen chem 1 and core bio 2. There are take home quizzes every unit and he reuses most of the questions on the actual exams. Exams are curved. I turned my lecture notes into quizlets and got As on exams!
Amazing teacher. Professor Mitchell is very passionate about what he teaches and demonstrates intellectual knowledge about the material he is teaching. Extremely helpful if you ask for help and super approachable. Would take again!
If I could give a 10 I would,he's a very chill dude who seems extremely knowledgable on the topics he teaches. If you do the work he gives you, then review it a day before the tests,it's a free B at the very minimum. He is very straight forward with what he puts on the tests and even gives extra credit for questions he believes were unjust on his end
Mr. Mitchell is an amazing teacher and made lectures fun. he made sure students were prepared for every test. I would definitely have him again if I could.
Great Professor. Pay good attention to the lab models. The class has a lot of homework and quizzes. He's very knowledgeable and gives opportunities for extra credit. The class goes over a lot of material so don't miss class, his lectures are very informative. Very fun class!
10/10 would recommend Professor Mitchell. Best professor I have had. Homework can be heavy load sometimes, but it averages out to an equivalent of a test grade, so it balances out overall grade. Offers extra credit opportunity and ensures a thorough job of teaching the lab material. I would take him for A&P 2 if offered.
My personal experience with this professor was fantastic. There is a lot of homework that takes awhile but it ultimately prepares you for your final. The lectures are interesting and engaging. Overall i enjoyed this class & would take again if need be. Professor Isreal is very laid back & kind to his students. I definitely reccomend.
Great professor. He teaches very well to make us all understand. I wish he taught anatomy 2!
Professor Mitchell is caring, professional, and overall good at what he does. His lectures are amazing, he likes interacting a lot and never minds stopping when you are confused, his homework is long, but they do prepare you for the final. Please take him! He is very accessible outside of campus. Attendance is mandatory if you want to pass.
My favorite professor ever! 100% cares about the success of each student, very professional, makes class fun, easy to reach and responds quickly. I wish this guy could teach everything I ever need to take. He's honestly an asset to any program and really wish he taught AP2. Definitely made going back to school a lot easier and less stressful.
By far the best teacher/professor I've ever had in all of my time in school. He literally gives you half the answers on his exams through lecture and take home quizzes. His lectures are phenomenal and will go out of his way to explain anything you could ask. TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. My only complaint is that he doesn't teach AP 2!
One of the best Professors to teach anatomy and physiology. His lectures were very informative and made it easy for me to follow along. Being able to visualize certain concepts, which he uses a lot of interpretations helped me to understand which he does a good job at. I would highly recommend this Professor to anyone.
Very good lectures! Tests are multiple-choice, and 50% of the questions are from homework. I would take him again
He was a really great teacher.
This professor was super understanding and available for his students. His exams are fairly easy because he gives you straightforward study material. I would recommend this professor.
Professor Israel is somebody I want to take again but he only does AP1. I really enjoy his class, i usually have a lot of judgement from teachers for how i learn but he has been such a joy in class. He gives half the questions on the test in class all you have to do is write it down and its a automatic C. its all also multiple choice exams.
He is a good professor! He gave us the opportunity to do a lot of extra credit. If he had AP2 I would take with without thinking twice.
Best professor EVERRR! I highly recommend taking his class for anatomy 1 or really anything he teaches! sadly he doesnt teach anatomy 2 so I won't be able to have him again, but if I get the chance to have him as a professor for another subject then I would choose him in a heart beat. DONT THINK ABOUT IT, JUST REGISTER FOR HIS CLASS.
Mr.Mitchell's lectures and take home quizzes are the guide to passing his exams. he gives opportunities for extra credit so just in case you're worried about a bad grade you can make it up. His labs are also easy and he will help you with whatever you're struggling with so you don't fall behind.
Prof Mitchell is great. I would take him for AP2 if he taught it. The class is not hard as long as you pay attention during lectures, take notes, study and do all assignments.
His lectures are really helpful and you can tell he really wants students to understand and learn the material and see them succeed. He's also entertaining and keeps the class interesting. This course is difficult but he does a great job of making the class feel easier to take on.
His class is very functional, and his lectures are always on point. If you don't understand something, he takes the time to clarify it. The exams, quizzes, and labs are all manageable and very helpful. I definitely recommend him! If he had taught Anatomy II, I would have taken his class without hesitation.
Chapter quizzes really helped with unit exams. Offers extra credit. Professor was nice and understanding. I wish he taught A&P2.
very understanding
He is a great professor. Everything you get tested on he gives you before hand so you have all the materials you need to study and he uses the same wording. He is caring and is willing to clarify things for you if you are confused. I wish he had an A&P 2, but he does not usual do it.
Professor Mitchel is a phenomenal professor. He offers a variety of extra credit and the assignments aren't very time-consuming. the tests are an exact makeup of the take-home quiz questions and PowerPoint notes, emphasizing certain topics that might be the majority of a test to ensure you're studying the right material.
He's honestly one of the coolest teachers I've met here at SF. He's very accommodating and very understanding when it comes to coursework and due dates. His class is really simple and is very much like basic high school anatomy and physiology. His coursework is all so easy to finish since he allows group work.
He is a great professor an offers extra credit which is very easy. He also has all his quizzes as take home quizzes and these really boost your grade.
This professor is awesome. His enthusiasm and knowledge is amazing. I wish he was my professor for A&P 2. His ability to teach a complicated subject in a simple to understand method makes him invaluable. Thanks!
The professor did a great job explaining the material and making the class a lot easier than it normally would be. There is not a lot of homework because a lot of it is groupwork and as long as you pay attention in class and look at the slides, the tests are not that difficult. I definitely recommend this professor, and I wish he taught A&P 2.
Mr. Mitchell is devoted to helping students understand all the important material and creates exams based on material that was covered and heavily explained. He is definitely one of the best teachers I have had, and if you do the assignments and hold yourself accountable to studying all the material you are given, this class will be great.
Professor Mitchell is a great teacher, and gives lots of opportunity for extra credit fairly to everyone. He explains the lessons well, and goes over everything we need to know for the tests. while attendance isn't mandatory for his lectures, it is highly encouraged to participate as he will have assignments that require participation.
Professor Mitchell makes A&P 1 easier to understand and thoroughly explains the PowerPoint material through his lectures. The homework assignments aren't too bad and are pretty easy. For the lecture exams, they are fairly easy also. You just need to study the notes, take home quizzes, and PowerPoint questions for a guaranteed amazing grade.
Loved this class. Professor Mitchell has engaging lectures, presents material so it is easy to understand, and genuinely wants you to do well in class. If you attend class/lab and read the chapters in text, you will do well. He gives extra credit opportunities to boost your grade. I wish he taught A&P II because I would take him again.
Professor Mitchell is genuinely amazing! Take him and you won't regret. He makes it very simple to succeed in the class as long as you show up, pay attention and study well. Barely any homework, arguably none, but he gives classwork that should be done partly at home. Half the exams are from practice quizzes and questions he gives you in advance :)
Lectures were easy to follow and well discussed/broken down. Lab was also very hands on and easy to follow along with our lectures.
Professor Mitchell made it easy to succeed in this class as long as you listen to the lectures and attend class/lab. His test are super straightforward and straight from the notes, he also drops hints about exam questions in lecture. Overall he was a great professor and I would definitely take again!
If you do good with lectures then I would recommend this class. The professor is great at explaining the material and you know exactly what will be on every exam. Definitely recommend.
Prof. Mitchell is a sweet guy with a "caring dad" vibe. While some aspects of the class could be more dialed in, it's pretty easy overall as long as you put the work in. He makes it clear that he really wants his students to succeed and is understanding about life stuff. If something doesn't make sense or you're struggling, just talk to him.
Professor Mitchell is a fantastic teacher! Lectures are super engaging and easy to follow. He has a way of breaking down topics into simpler terms, making it easier to grasp the material. Like previous rating said, very much chill dad vibe. He understands that we have lives outside of class, very appreciated! I wish he could teach A&P 2!
Prof. Mitchell is great, he makes class fun and interesting and is really personable with students, you know exactly what to study for the exams and have a low grade redo opportunity. He explains things very well during lecture and lab as long as your listening to him and doing the work theres no way to fail the class.
Prof. Mitchell was such an amazing instructor. I really wish he taught the second sequence. He cares about his students success by preparing the class for the test but for te departmental final and labs. If you want a direct professor that is easy going, honest, hilarious, and able to simplfy complex terms…. Then YOU NEED TO SIGN UP
Go to the lectures. Ask for clarification on EVERYTHING. He's friendly but not a pushover. Get the book online, trust me. Goes over every exam before and after. Has lab module videos and mini mock tests that are amazing. Slides are vague on their own. Read over every chapter before the lectures on your own. Goes over slides fast, have up on laptop.
Overall, although this course covered a lot of material and had a lot of coursework, Prof. Mitchell was great and very knowledgeable about the class.
He was AMAZING hands down the best professor I've ever taken at Santa Fe. He reminds me of high school. He's super helpful all you have to do is right down what he says is important. Everything on the test is EXACTLY what he teaches and tells you just pay attention and you will pass!
Great experience for A&P 1. He compiles easy to follow notes from the textbook rather than make you read the chapters, which makes it easier for the student to retain information heavy chapters. He says he doesn't require the textbook, but I'd recommend using it to fill out your notes further. Lecture heavy but he makes sure you're engaged.
He's great; He makes anatomy not as intimidating as I heard it should be. I would recommend it to anybody who wants anatomy to be like any other class instead of the class everyone makes it out to be. 10/10 when of the best professors ive had.
Professor Mitchell is great professor. He makes the lectures entertaining and informative. My only real complaint with his style is there are no study guides for his exams. But 40% of exam questions come from quizzes and PowerPoint questions. The other 60% of questions are from the notes and important things he points out during the lectures.
He makes the lectures very easy to understand and breaks it down with helpful examples. He stays on top of grading and his assignment schedule is consistent. He does take attendance but going to class is SUPER helpful and he'll let you out early most of the time. He's very understanding and lenient. Tests are very straight forward.
Professor Mitchell is an amazing professor. He is very caring and very accessible out of class. The lessons exams are very straightforward. Attendance is not mandatory, but he does talk about possible exam questions while in lecture (that are usually in the exam). If he taught BSC2086, I'd definitely take the course with him.
Professor Mitchell made anatomy 1 interesting. If you're scared to take this class, i recommend taking him. At first it seems like a lot of different assignments, but after the first chapter, it is super easy to catch on. Obviously, it is very lecture oriented, but he makes the information easy to understand, and is open to answer any questions.
I would definitely take Mitchell's class again. He uses questions from his powerpoints and take home quizzes on his exams, which makes the exams easier. He is not a harsh grader at all, and his assignments help you raise your grade! He makes anatomy seem easier than one would expect and I would recommend him to anyone taking A&P 1.
As my first college-level science class, this course exceeded expectations! Professor Mitchell was an amazing start to my science journey, by the clear guidelines, engaging lectures, and fair exams. The lectures and assignments help with the exams! Follow his structure and you will succeed. I would definitely take him again for BSC2086 if possible!
Prof. Mitchell made it an engaging and easier to digest type of class. Be careful with the exams since he doesn't give study guides but you can study the take home quizzes, powerpoint questions, and your notes. Make some friends/classmates that you can study with prior to the exams, it can be helpful!!
Though attendance is not mandatory, you should go to lectures to know what you're doing. He doesn't use the textbook, just the ppts which you can find on canvas, and in class he will point out specific information that will be on the next exam. Studying for them mainly consists of notes from lecture, ppt questions, and required take home quizzes
Overall the tests are pretty fairly written and align well with the lectures. He explains topics in lecture very well and points out key parts needed for the test. He does have some written assignments per unit but you can turn them in as a group. Definitely would recommend!!
The professor gave great lectures, and I thoroughly enjoyed the class. He would even remove some questions after a test if everyone agreed they were too difficult.
I had Professor Mitchell this Spring ‘25 and you can tell that he tries his best to make the class as easy as possible, the assignments are straight forward as long as you're studying the PowerPoints. Really and truly I don't think you need a textbook or lab manual for his class as he provides the digital copy for free on Canvas. He's chill too!
Explained tough concepts really well!
Makes sure to thoroughly explain all concepts to prepare you for every test. He is a great professor and I would definitely take his class again if possible!
Always study his Take home Quizzes and his power point Questions and you will do good on the exams.
Mitchell is a great professor and was understanding about extending assignments when I was going through hard times. This class does take a lot of studying for the exams, but as long as you attend the lectures and take notes, you'll be fine.
This professor makes A&P easy to understand by relating topics to certain situations in the real world. He is very understanding. As long as you show up to class and do the work he asks of you, you will pass. He gives you all the necessities you need to pass with a good grade. I would recommend professor Mitchell to any student!
I had Professor Mitchell for AP1 spring semester 25. he is a good professor he works with his students and tries to make their college experience easier. He's very funny he loves to YAP lol but his class is very enjoyable. he will call you out in front of the class if you are late and try to be funny but he's still very cool. 10/10 course.
Definitely would recommend this professor for anatomy! Super thorough and explains lectures well. Assignments are super easy and group work is encouraged. Gives take home quizzes and includes PowerPoint questions that are super helpful for studying- about 40% of the test consists of the study material, so tests are very easy if you study!
starters, AP is are in general but he made it manageable and understanding (easy). He uses real life example to help, his lectures isn't boring, there is no reason why you should be failing his exam , its all what we do in class! he gives out take home quiz and assignments to help. I would recommend 100/10. a lot of my friends are taking him now.
Mr Mitchell was a pleasure to have. Made sure every student was involved or was clear of the information we were learning very good teacher and really good at making you understand the difficult stuff easier
The course itself was difficult but Professor Mitchell really cares for his students and wants them to succeed.
amazing professor, and always available to answer questions.
Kinda rude, needs to work on his attitude. But hey, that just my opinion.
This course does have a lot of work but I wouldn't expect anything less. I will say that it's pretty important to attend lecture as the PowerPoints can be pretty vague at times and Mr Mitchell provides better explanation of the contents. Pretty easy going class. Easy grade as long as work is completed and studied. Opportunities for extra credit.
Mr. Mitchell is an amazing professor! His lectures really help you understand the material. A&P is a tough course with quite a bit of work but he really tries to make it enjoyable and really cares about helping you learn. I would definitely take his course again!
Professor Israel was very understanding when something came up. He was very open to questions and helping you on the lab manuals. He wants to make sure you are understanding the content. There is not a ton of homework, some assignments he allows you to do as a group.
Taking Professor Mitchell's class has been a really positive experience. His lectures are organized and easy to follow, which makes a big difference in a course as demanding as A&P. He's approachable, supportive, and really encourages you to do your best. I'd gladly take another course with him!
Professor Mitchell really cares about his students and provides tons of helpful resources in the modules and syllabus. The labs are fun and easy. He's straightforward and keeps things interesting with some jokes during lectures. Don't miss a lecture! If you can, record his lectures, he stays on topic and explains everything well.
Amazing professor. Expert in his subject area and only goes over what we need to know. Definitely would recommend.
Professor Mitchell knows a lot about what he's teaching and knows how to teach it well. He's also very understanding and receptive to feedback from his students.
All and All i think he was one of the better professors at Santa Fe he is very engaging and has a good sense of humor. He gives multiple opportunity to bring your grade up, and the way the course is set up the exams do not tank your grade. He gives plenty of extra credit all you have to do is ask and participate.
Israel Mitchell is in my top three best professors at SF. He really cares for his students and makes the lectures interesting and engaging. He makes you feel prepared for every test by providing good homework and quizzes.
The best!! Very understanding and makes his test based on what he teaches
Would not recommend even to my ex.
Just like the country, he destroyed me
Israel Mitchell is one of the best professors that I have ever had. He is very understanding, fair, and funny. Exams are exactly what are in the lecture PowerPoints. Even though attendance isn't mandatory you should still go to class and pay attention to get an A. You are able to work on all quizzes, assignments, and labs at home and in groups.
Professor Israel was great. He did a very good job at making everyone feel at ease and was very welcoming. He does very well at making the due dates and what is due very clear. The only thing I would say is to make sure you listen to the lectures. On his lecture slides they aren't supper in detail and he goes more into detail during lecture.
There are a lot of assignments that help balance out your grade, so you're never relying just on tests. If you go to class and actually pay attention, he gives a lot of hints and even mentions many of the test questions. Overall, he makes Anatomy much easier to understand and keeps the class engaging. Highly recommend taking him!
I highly recommend this professor for A&P1. He is very understanding with students and is the type of professor that wants you to succeed. The material he teaches in his lectures is what is on the test. Offers many extra credit opportunities. You do not need to buy the textbook, it is online. Will make you work in groups but tasks aren't too hard.
I absolutely recommend this professor! The lab assignments are done in groups, which is really helpful. He explains things clearly and makes sure everyone is keeping up because he really does want everyone to succeed. The class isn't test-heavy, and there are even a few extra credit opportunities to boost your grade. Wonderful class and teacher!!
His lectures are long but detailed and explained throughout every slide. The labs are very chill and you get to work at your own pace on a packet. He goes over quizzes and helps understand where the class was wrong and why. He also gives assessments to help us study.
I highly recommend Professor Mitchell! A&P is not easy, but Professor Mitchell makes the material much clearer and more approachable. He is highly knowledgeable and knows how to teach effectively. His Canvas page is well organized; he explains everything clearly in lectures; he's kind, caring, and has a great sense of humor.
I really liked Israel Mitchell as my A&P1 professor, he explained the classes really good, and give u extra credit options, exams are hard but if u pay attention to class and take notes it's helps a lot, he has a really good work ethic and good grading criteria, I would take a class with him a 100%
Professor Mitchel is an amazing instructor. He explains everything clearly, uses real-life examples, and makes every topic easy to understand. His exams match his lectures, and he offers extra credit and many chances to do well. I would take any class with him again. Highly recommended.
Professor Mitchell was a great professor, going into the class you do need to show up and pay attention to lecture but A&P is also just a difficult class. His exams are easy to study for with half the material on the homework questions and quizzes. I recommend just staying on top of assignments and to study before any exams.
He does work with you. His take home quizzes and reviews are such a great thing to get your grade up if you're not a good test taker! You're going to struggle if you don't show up to class. I would take this class again. A&P is such a stressful class no matter what so taking a strict or uptight teacher would be terrible. I recommend
Great prof lectures are full of information. Lot to take in but very thorough. Chapters have review questions(homework)= study guide for tests. Take home quizzes,(homework). Things said in lecture will be on exams, very clear about what & when things are due, and expectations for assignments. Uses good examples, very interactive during labs.
Professor Mitchell was amazing! His tests are 50% lecture and 50% from the take home quizzes (which you can use your notes) and PowerPoint slide questions. Tests aren't my strong suit but as long as you do good on the homework's and take home quizzes you'll be just fine! This was honestly the best professor I've had!
Professor Mitchell is actually a really good anatomy professor if you're willing to pay attention during lectures. If you're reading the slides, you don't get as much explanation when not in class, even though attendance is optional. He is very understanding and a well spoken lecturer. I would 100% take him for A&P 2 as well, if I could. Great guy.
He is by far one of the best teachers i've had. He really cares about what he's talking about and wants the student to succeed. Attendance is not mandatory but it's encouraged because just reading off his slides aren't enough. His take home quizzes and powerpoint questions really help on his exams. He truly wants his students to succeed.
Tests are pretty hard just make sure you study because he doesn't give any study guides. His lectures are good just make sure you take notes and look back at them before tests. He gives some extra credit opportunities as well.
Professor Mitchell is great, all the exams are clear in what to study. Homework is helpful and clear grading criteria. Overall, if you pay attention to lectures and the THQ you will succeed. He makes a hard subject easier to process!!
Professor Mitchell is good at teaching, he truley knows what he is talking about. He can sometimes get off topic a little but overall he is pretty good about staying on topic. He does not give study guides, so you really need to listen and take notes in class also review the THQ's.
He is a good overall teacher. He is friendly with the students and helps as much as he can. As long as you pay attention in lectures, take notes, and review the take home quizzes then you will do good on the exams.
Professor Israel Mitchell for Anatomy & Physiology 2085 is an amazing instructor. He is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely wants his students to succeed. He explains complex material clearly, and his lectures are well-organized, fair, and very helpful for exams. Highly recommend — I would definitely take him again.
Professor Mitchell was a great teacher for A&P 1 he really wants to help you understand the material and pass the class. He also offers extra credit to help you. I wish he was teaching A&P 2 so I could take his class.
He is a great professor and wants his students to succeed. Attendance is not mandatory, but it is helpful to attend to be able to understand the material in the notes. If you study the THQ questions and powerpoint questions and the notes, you will be good for the tests. He also gives you extra credit opportunities.
There are group projects which are just mainly about answering questions. For the lecture, the teacher will show powerpoint presentation; when you attend lectures, usually he will tell you what would not be on the test. You do not need to buy the lab manual if you don't want cause he has them in the module.
Attendance isn't mandatory, but I recommend going to class. His lectures are easy to understand and follow. Make sure to study the quizzes and PowerPoint questions because he will get some test questions from them. There are group projects, but they're only for answering questions.
Professor Mitchell was a wonderful professor who offered lots of extra credit. His homework assignments were helpful, and allowed a deeper understanding of the material along with his lectures.
Very helpful teacher wants the best for you.
He gives tons of extra credit/throws out exam questions a lot. + during lectures he will hint at exam questions. He's a great professor and makes lectures interesting. Tips 4 class - Quizlet (for everything!!) - be consistent
overall good professor. A&P is a hard subject but he makes it easy to understand and makes his class easy to past if you just do the work and study.
good professor 10/10 would recommend
Professor Mitchell is a good professor who cares for his students and through practical examples conveys the many important concepts in A/P 1. He is straightforward in what is required, always open to questions, and offers plenty of extra credit opportunities to enhance the learning experience. I would take him again and I highly recommend!
