The professor was cool overall, he gave great feedback on our assignments. Class, though, was hard, especially as an undergrad (with grad classmates). So much readings, and some were so complicated and took forever to read. Discussions on those readings were hard too! The final project was somewhat easier bc prof broke it up into parts. No exams.
Nice, helpful, professional, and fair. We were always busy with a lot of assignments, but none were ever too difficult. Be prepared to read and write. If you don't get an A or B, it will be very dependent on your ability to just sit down and complete assignments. He's a very interesting person.
He is very understanding, supportive, and most of all inspiring. He cares about you as a person and as a student but never under-estimates. Best professor around.
His lecture is not related in ENG205. Didn't learning anything throughout this class. Ask students buy the book which the author is himself.
This was my best and most useful class. Professor Pandey was fun, helpful, and very understanding.
This teacher was cheerful and interesting and also very supportive although some of the readings were bit on the difficult side, and being with the graduate students was also challenging because I was taking this class as a senior with Mater's students. But the professor was patient and helpful, so it was all worth the extra work. Lerned a lot.
This professor made this class a lot of fun and practically useful. It was a lot of work sometime but directly relevant to be ready for the real world. He also respects your ideas and helps make them stronger.
Really nice guy and a solid teacher. Readings may be sometimes hard and he also expects you to participate a lot but it's worth the extra effort. He is super helpful.
Really cool professor and practically useful class
He was great and the class was very productive for my growth as a student
Great professor
Superb professor
My favorite professor! Nice, helpful, understanding, distinguished but approachable. He cares about you as much as you care about your class. Good feedback and available outside class. Best one around.
Super nice and helpful. It was not always easy, but I wish I learned as much in all other classes.
My favorite professor--super friendly, fun, and helpful. And oh he knows his stuff but he is still very modest.
Awesome! His class was so good that I changed my concentration as a result of this class.
We did a lot of work in this class, but everything was worth the time and stress. Yes, I said it. Awesomest (is that even correct?) professor!
Very nice and funny professor! Very supportive and understanding also
Everything is super good about this professor--friendly, kind, inspiring, and what not. I changed my major because of his class and may one day visit Nepal! No kidding!!
Very sweet and best professor around
Professor Pandey changed me and my writing because he was so hilariously smart, cheerful, helpful, and available to help me work on my analysis and writing, which I was already pretty good at but needed that extra push to get over the hump. So glad I took his class
Professor Pandey was great and very understanding. My favorite university professor so far.
Professor Pandey was fair, fun, accessible outside of class, and understanding. As a non-traditional student who came back to finish my degree, I really appreciated the approach he took to teaching this class (and helping me during individual conferences initially when I had trouble keeping up with the pace). Dr. Pandey is great professor.
In groups, there are 2 presentations and 1 paper assigned. Solo, 2 quizzes based on readings on his canvas page, and 1 final paper. The first 4 weeks include using a blogging website. It was a short class, not too hard, no textbook required (it's on canvas), and a lot of peer-grading. Short and fun hybrid class to go to, even on a Friday morning.
Interesting class. Mostly writing intensive and one group discussion that was done in class. He's a good professor that gives good feedback on writing assignments. I would definitely take him again.
Took him Fall 2017 for ENGL 205. Professor Pandey is one of the nicest individuals I've ever had as a professor. The text is available through Canvas, and there are times he forgets to collect things that were assigned, but never did I get the feeling that I wish I took someone else.
Professor Pandey was super nice, caring, and well-organized. The class was fun, and we did quite bit of group work and many individual assignments. I learned a lot and found this class very helpful. Most awesome professor!
Dr. Pandey is such a caring and intelligent professor. He changed my mind and outlook by assigning us to do research. It's a great class and he helps you. He's always there for extra help and has great class discussions. Highly recommend !
Most awesome and truly caring professor! He is also the least arrogant although he is brilliant.
Nice guy and good teacher. Understanding and helpful
Honestly, he is not a bad professor but he just does not give feedback at all during the semester. You basically will not know how you're doing in the class because he will not grade assignments until the end of the semester. Our class asked him several time but he never did. Overall, I do not like the way he teaches and gives a lot of hw
This was the best and most useful English class I have ever taken. I wish I took him earlier.
Best class. I learned the most in an English class so far. A lot of work on Canvas and practical course materials. He also made it available free. Now who does that?
Simply best professor I have so far since my transfer. He was very prompt with my questions and very helpful comments. He makes you work a lot but in the end every bit of it was very rewarding.
Pande is a brilliant and yet the least arrogant professor around here. I found his class super useful. He is also very clear and helpful.
1 group project & presentation, 5 business messages, blog entries, forum discussions, 1 research project, and 2 quizzes. Most assignments were also connected, so the transition from one to the next was smooth. Work was heavy at times but worth the time. Professer was also prompt with feedback and emails. Revised 1 paper for extra points. Cheers
Prof. Pandey is caring and hilarious. He makes you do a lot of work, but he explains everything clearly. Lectures are short and great. He is available to give feedback outside of class. A very helpful and nice guy.
I took this class during my senior year, and what a great experience it was to top off my college education! The prof. knows his stuff too well although he does not boast about it like some others. Don't bluff, he will easily catch. Plus, he is caring and helpful.
Really awesome and my favorite professor.
Dr. Pandey is brilliant and funny. He was the most understanding and helpful professor who provided helpful feedback on my writing as well as research and career choices. Amazing guy!
Amazing professor and most useful class. Take it before you graduate.
Although we had to read and write a lot, it made perfect sense since doing one helped me do better in the other. Besides Prof. Pandey was available for advice outside of class. Had a terrific class with an amazing professor.
Amazing class and my new favorite professor!
I went to this class with low expectations but ended with the opposite impression. Professor was clear and articulate. The course was well organized. Feedback was given timely and actually useful. Oh, Sorry prof. I used quite a bit of passive voice here! But sometimes it's okay, isn't it?
Funny and committed to helping students succeed. Loved that he was approachable and open to new ideas, always ready to give you nice feedback and very inspiring. Be ready to read and write quite a lot, but you will learn a lot also.
He is one of the very best professors I have had. He will listen to you and is always ready with good feedback. You will also actually learn something that you will use in real life.
He is super good and understanding. I like the way he organizes class and discussions. My favorite professor!
Take him. He is very nice and funny as a person and smart professor.
He was always encouraging, helpful, and very understanding. I am glad I took this class because I learned so much. We had to read a lot and did a lot of work, but we also saved $$$ on textbooks. Can't complain about that. Memos, letters, blogs, proposals, reports, group project, presentation and so
This professor is a real gem. He knows a lot and helps a lot. He is a genius but in a very non-arrogent way. The most gentlemanly professor.
He takes attendance every day, but he only lets you miss one time and he assigns a lot of homework mainly weekly assignments. He tries to make class interesting but it can get a bit boring. Some of the assignments are time consuming.
He is my new favorite professor. Interesting, helpful, cheerful and really interested in your success. Glad I took his class
Okay class. Professor Pandey truly does care for his students and wants his students to succeed. Although the class can get really boring at times.. Weekly news article discussions, in class work, 5 correspondence assignments, a blog, and one 10 page group report, and a research proposal at the end of semester. 2 easy 20 question tests online.
I really, really loved Prof. Pandey. His was the class that I really looked forward to every week. Although the readings were sometimes challenging, that only taught me so much new things. He was also a very kind and knowledgeable person.
I love this professor as a human being. He is a great person and very accessible. He is just a phenomenal human being. The only problem is that he expects you to know the how he wants you to turn in assignments without really clarifying. Also, he has a tendency of grading EVERYTHING at the last two days of class. Take him because you will learn.
Professor Pande was amazing. I am glad I took his class. He is a really nice guy and so is his class. Because of the pandemic, the class had to move online mid semester but the Professor made the transition very well. I loved getting back to Zoom class with him during the quarantine. I can't say that about other classes. Will miss it
He is hands-down the best professor. He knows his stuff and guides you as if he is right where you are like showing you how to do the difficult work of understanding complex messages, designing documents, and writing well. I found him very kind, understanding and humble. Oh he is also funny and gives great feedback
Professor Pandey was very accommodating during these trying times while still keeping this same level of upper division education. I would recommend him to people who are looking to improve their writing on a more professional level as he is very knowledgeable and understanding.
Prof. Pandey is simply awesome: kind, understanding, helpful, very knowledgeable and yet not arrogant like some of the other professors. He is my favorite professor!
Major complaint: quizzes are published without dates. Glancing at your calendar in hopes to see a quiz? Nope. Go out of your way to his weekly bulletin posted in 'modules' to see an actual date for a quiz. Just give things dates so everything can be seen on the calendar at once! Not good for busy students, It's laughably easy to miss a 50pt quiz.
This was my most useful class at the university. Dr. Pande is lovely, knowledgeable and understanding.
Pretty good professor, in fact one of the better ones I've had in college. Definately a ton of work in this class, Dr. Pande will give a significant amount. He does care though, and is reasonable. If you slack off you will have trouble in this class though.
Prof. Pande was brilliant and very understanding. I am just glad I took his class.
He's an all around great professor, but man is he tough. Don't even think of slacking off or you'll find yourself behind. Just make sure to check the class assignments/papers/etc, and stay in contact with him for any help. This class has a solid workload.
I took Prof. Pandey's graduate seminar last year, and it turned out to be the best seminar for me. It also set me on a path to my current doctoral work which I love. We really appreciated that he was accessible and knowledgeable without being pretentious.
He is very smart and understanding. Loved it
Worst Professor I have had. I sent him multiple emails concerning my grade in the course and he never responded. I am giving this review the day our final is due and let me just say it absolutely makes no sense. Again I am writing this the day our final is due and three things are in the grade book. I have no idea where my grade stands. Bad Prof.
Super helpful and best professor hands down! He was always available for conference and feedback. Although the class was asynchronous online, he was available for zoom meetings and gave really useful ideas and suggestions. He was also very kind and understanding. My new favorite
He never grades! Online with this professor is not the way to succeed. He doesnt even explain well for an online class. He doesnt keep up with the grades. Please dont take him
Dr. Pandey is a nice professor who is willing to help you outside of class if you need it. However, it took a long time for him to grade assignments, and his class schedule was not updated (many due dates were incorrect). We had weekly discussion posts (you host twice), an article analysis, lit mag report, CV/resume, abstract, and final project.
Awesome professor! He was kind and understanding. Very helpful and super good teacher. He always answered questions in timely manner. Best feedback
Excellent professor and great class. The work can be demanding but if you do the work, you'll be fine. Lots of writing, reading (with quizzes), and group work. Some of my group members didn't do the work and complained at the end even though he gave extension. Don't wait till the end to finish all the work. He is very understanding if you explain.
This guy is the real deal. Very nice and understanding and caring about your success
Great professor. Listens to you if you have something to say. Wonderful and nice, supportive
I took his ENG 205 class over the summer and he was actually a chill professor. He gives you solid feedback and assignments are generally flexible. You have two quizzes on the textbook chapters, and those are easy As! Weekly news-of-the-week posts, short assignments, and one major group project as well as a proposal, and lastly a resume.
Quite a bit of work but a great class and a really wonderful professor!
It was my first college class but this profesor made it great. Really nice and understanding. I hated writing but he made me like it. Thanks.
Great professor. Pretty intense reading and writing assignments but all worth the work. He is kind and interesting and will listen if you have a problem. Quick email response and good online also
Cool guy. You will read, write, & participate a lot! Offers a broad and transnational perspectives on English studies. He knows a lot and also offers a lot of good advice for further studies and career options. Take advantage of the one-on-one conferences if you are not sure what you want to do.
He didnt grade a single assignment the entire semester. His quizzes are based off the book so make sure you purchase it. Couldnt find any answers online. Gives too much work for a 16 week course. Had a couple of group projects, no presentations but did have to complete a group paper. Make sure to complete every assignment to ensure you get a c.
Super cool guy and very understanding. Very clear assignments. This was the only English class that taught me the most useful thing.
Amazing prof. Although it was a fully online class with no live meeting times, he offered to zoom and some of us were able to take advantage of it. He is great and super helpful. Very prompt with emails and questions. Best professor
Although Dr. Pandey was quick to reply to emails and held office hours it stressed me out because he had not graded assignments for months at a time. If you take this class I recommend (if you have the time) to attend office hours and ask him to grade your assignments so you can get feedback. Overall, nice person, and I learned a lot.
He is so awesome he knows what he is doing and helps you understand the course materials. Very understanding and nice professor!
Took this class because I needed an upper-level course to graduate during my final semester and was so happy I did. Prof Pande was very clear, thorough and understanding. My favorite professor
Doesn't like to give 100 to anyone, but doable A especially if you go to office hours. Biggest problem was slow grading.
Awesome. Best prof ever.
I used to hate English classes, but this profesor made this course very relevant and practical. Most useful English class.
This was one of my first classes at the university after my transfer and by far the best college class. The guy was super helpful and funny. We started the semester online and then moved to in-person. He made it easy. If any problem, contact him. He is so nice and caring. Best professor.
Most helpful and understanding professor ever!
Professor Pandey was amazing. He was clear, helpful and understanding. If you have any problem, email or see him and he will explain. The class helped me to get my dream job. I am happy I took this class. My favorite professor.
great professor and has great assignments. would recommend .
Honestly liked him and the course a lot, however this was definitely more work than I thought this class would've been. Grading was a tad late for most assignments as well. In class, he was a pretty nice guy, cracked some jokes and has an very unique and interesting accent (I say this because I don't think I've ever heard one like his).
He was awesome and I really liked his style of running the class. My favorite kind of professor
He was so good: first, very kind and understanding. Second, he was truly an outstanding professor. Third, he was also funny at times. Also, he knows so much but does not brag. I got into this class not knowing what to expect. But I'm glad I did before finishing my degree. As an English major, I found it to be the most useful English class!
This was one of my first grad seminars and remains the best as it provided a solid foundation for my further work. The professor is very nice and helpful.
I took this as a hybrid class. Lectures are kinda pointless. There are a lot of assignments but instructions are clear. Two large group projects at the end of the semester where he chooses the groups. Overall, I would take his class again.
He's easy to reach and understanding with students. He does not accept late work so be mindful of that, there's two group projects and three online quizzes based on readings posted weekly. Overall cares about his students' grades in the class, definitely take this professor.
Can't lie I struggled hard in this class, was not a cake walk by any means. A lot of assignments, and he definitely took his time responding to us. Overall he's pretty decent as English professors go to be fair, but man he'll make you put in work. Still would gladly take him over some of these other professors here lol.
honestly talk to him, and he will help you anytime you want. He truly cares about the future of his students, and makes sure to help everyone with what he can! The assignments are not easy, but not hard either. You learn a lot from his lectures. Make sure to revise your essays, and just do your best, and you will get the grade you want!
Great professor! We had fun discussions and amazing readings and he is a really nice guy. It was not easy though. We had to read and write a lot but I'd love to take this class with him any time beause he is that good and nice.
I passed this class so I really don't have any complaints. I didn't submit an assignment that was worth a lot of points, I emailed him about it and he let me submit it with no penalty. Really lenient with assignments but don't make it a habit. You do write a few papers since it's an English class. With it being a business class, it was easy.
You learn a lot of useful things in this class, but he assigns a lot of work. Not to mention he does not grade at all during the semester. As I am writing this the senior's graduation is about to happen and he has still only graded 7 or so assignments. He is very helpful when it comes to emails and everything else though.
Professor Pandey is a good Professor overall just needs to grade assignments in time cause it's annoying if we don't know if were doing assignments correctly but this was an online class so in person could be different. But the assignments were really well explained but there is a lot of work
This is a gem of a professor. He knows so many things and is so helpful and understanding. I am so glad I took his class.
He is one of the best professors of all. I loved the readings (which were heavy at times though) and he is super cool.
Pandey is a wonderful professor and my favorite one. He is great and approachable. He does assign quite a bit of work, so be ready to read, discuss and write a lot. I am so glad I took this class and it truly prepared me for my future.
Best professor. No, he is not the easiest because you will have to do a lot of work, but he is fair and professional and you will learn a lot. By far, he is my favorite professor.
Super nice person and really a great professor! He is also super helpful.
He was amazing and very helpful to me as I came back to college after a gap of few years as a midlevel manager. The class helped me refresh many skills and learn so much more. He became my favorite professor.
I learned so much while not feeling stressed or under pressure! Assignments are very manageable and overall a very smooth and great course.
Professor Pandey runs a challenging but rewarding course. The workload is heavy, but he's fair and engaging. Unstuck study was a big help with prep - definitely recommend it alongside the textbook.
Professor Pandey is the most unassuming but most engaging and inspiring professor ever! Ask him questions, listen to him, meet him outside of class--he is just amazing and always supportive with good feedback.
The class could barely maintain 5 or 6 kids, and half weren't really there or participating in any given session. Not that the work load was unbearable, but it was barely tolerable. 2000+ word essays one week followed by another the following. Even as someone who used to love English, this class stamped out the flame that was my passion for it.
Professor Pandey was just great. He taught the most important things that an English class could and I'm thankful for it.
He is a good professor. Just do the work and you will be fine. His instructions might come off a bit confusing sometimes but its doable.
I took world literature and theory class from him and it proved to be the most rewarding English class. I am now pursuing the research interest identified during that class for my doctoral work. He was very understanding, kind, thoughtful and helpful. He's just so awesome.
It was my first and best class in the university. He was very kind, clear, and understanding.Yes, there was a good amount of work, but it was all worth it. If you run into any problems, just email or see him and he will understand.
Professor Iswari Pandey is a great instructor. He is very clear and descriptive about what is required for each assignment. Turning in all work on time and following directions will earn you a strong grade. Be aware that the last few projects carry significant weight toward your final grade.
