Tracey is a great teacher. I had taken her in ESL 5 class. We had six essays including in-class essay. I like the way she gave us a chance to correct our paper by using second draft. I learned lots from her about how to use MLA, she took really serious in this part because this is researching class. I like the way she grading very fair. should take

I can't say she is easy, but she grades fairly. U have 2 times for rewrite at the beginning of the class, but u have to write 2-3 essays in the last 2 weeks. She has a lot of hw too. But u can learn a lot from her. Also she loves her job and knows how to teach. This is real ESL 5 class.

Iva is really nice teacher. Her teaching style is extremely great and clear. There are seven essays including one is in class and one is final.

She is the best teacher at De Anza ever. Even though she requires us to work hard, really hard on materials, her grading scale is easy. I bet you can get more knowledge when taking her class, and your writing skill would be improved. She always gives you feedback on your essays so that you can fix you mistakes, and your grade change at all.

I'm completely agree with comment below. Yet, let me put my two cents in. Other than teaching you how to write well-constructed essays, she also teaches how to work hard by properly managing the given time. Also, she is very nice and kind human being willing to help you as long as you show a sign of interested:)

Great Professor. Four writing Essays at home. + one research paper you choose topic. In class final essay allowed to bring the articles for writing. If you pay attention, you will know the hint for prompts for final. She is very kind and full of knowledges about writing. Reading a novel and respond 400 words. HW is reading 2 articles & ans 4 questi

Hella homework but she's nice just do your work and you'll get full credit. Make sure u follow the rules while writing your essay with complex thoughts. Just do your work it doesn't need to be perfect. You can get full score. But you need to word hard for your grade. Easy grader yet full of work. Every-week there's 2-4 homework that requires atten.

Consider yourself lucky if you get into her class. She's a wonderful person and an amazing teacher. Her way of teaching is completely different and inspiring. Furthermore, her syllabus is so systematically organized that it won't overwhelm the students with tons of homework. Additionally a pro tip: Engage yourself in class discussion.

She deserves a 5.0 overall quality :) , I hope shes also teaching ewrt1a and Ill be one of her students again. Her syllabus states that the highest is A but I got A+ which I didnt expect. Take her class! Work harder! Bring your A game coz its survival of the fittest.

She is an awesome professor. However, if you decide to take her hybrid class, be aware that there r a lot of HWs and you have to spend most of ur time doing it. She is not a hard grader, but you have to follow her instructions, put an effort, and you wil get a grade that you deserve. Take her class and you will learn lots of informative lessons.

Took two of her class. ESL5 is a hybrid class that meets once a week. Lots of Homework but are partially due on Tues and the rest due Fri. Time management is very important!!!

She's one of the most genuine people I've ever met. If you need extra help with understanding linguistics concepts she will always explain and talk to you about it. She's been very supportive and kind.

Prof Iva is such a lovely and caring professor! She is truly passionate about linguistics and always tries to help her students out by suggesting tips&tricks. Not a lot of hw BUT she does assign a lot of reading. Tests are NOT open note but almost identical to study guide. We do the study guide in class before the test + she goes over the answers.

There are no surprises in her class-- everything on the exam is on the study guide she provides. The lecture is based on the textbook, so self-study is always an option if you missed something. She is extremely kind and is always willing to help you out with any questions during or after class.

Took her linguistics class. She's an amazing professor but circumstances were bad. She had to leave right before quarantine so we lost week of class before virus. We covered maybe half of material and really didn't learn much, not her fault though. I want to re-take this class asap, because it was good, just too abbreviated to learn.

I took this professor for ESL 5 course. It was hard, the students had to read and write a lot, but it was interesting, and worth it. I really improved my writing English. Strongly recommend this professor!

Her linguistics class was great. It was challenging at times with weekly assignments that were all graded, but it was really interesting and I learned a lot. The online modules were well organized and she had a good structure of different topics every week, so there was always something new to learn. She is super helpful and compassionate.

Took her ESL 5 class in the summer. It was very fast pace because we had only 6 weeks but it was a great experience; with her guidance, feedback and support I learnt so much about writing advanced essays. I loved the novel and articles we read. She was so encouraging, kind and patient. Highly recommend this professor.

Well,100 questions in 120minutes. Lots of readings, videos. Weekly discussions and textbook practice exercises. 2 exams, 1 fieldwork project, and 1 research paper. She's a fine person, the only teacher teaching the only Ling 1 class. This class was the only option. If it is not for the sake of transferring, I would've dropped this class.

My best teacher. she is so kind and patient. She teaches you good strategies to help you learn English. Zoom learning is very hard but she make it more interesting. She really helps her students and she is very nice.

Professor Tracey helped me improve not only my writing but she also helped me believe in myself again. She genuinely cares about her students and gives very thoughtful and constructive feedback.

Follow the instructions and you'll get full points on the paper and field project. Midterm and final based on textbook and is open book. Mostly MC and some word answers for final. Most work is completion-based.

Took her linguistics and english classes. She is an perfect college teacher. organized, patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. Even though her classes are now online because of pandemic you still feel supported. She responds to emails quickly and if you need help you can join online office hours or schedule zoom meeting.

Currently still taking her class, a few weeks into the quarter I got hit with some family stuff that resulted in me needing to drop a different class. I sent her an email after two weeks of absolutely no participation and explained my situation, she gave me the opportunity to make up all of the assignments that I missed, 10/10 I absolutely love her

I took this class on top of 3 other heavy lecture/reading based classes. Despite the workload of new readings every week, I rarely felt overwhelmed from this class. Awesome professor. Dr Tracey was so supportive and understanding. Summer esl 5 is fast pace and there is lot of work but she gives you feedback and and accepts revised essay for better grade which really helps.

Nice professor but gives a ton of homework. You have to spend a few hours almost everyday to catch up on your studies. But she is a easy grader if you do your best to complete each assignment.
