If you're not passing this class at least with a B, there's probably something wrong with you. He's helpful, the class is not that hard. the test average for our class is 65% but thats because people dont put enough effort into the class.

Honestly, the workload was NOT difficult, especially if you don't procrastinate. The low ratings are a surprise to me because the majority of our class passed with flying colors. He has review classes right before a test and everything on that review is on the test, maybe not in the same wording or exact numbers, but the subjects are all covered.

Yes, I sometimes didn't understand him. But the work was easy and attendance wasn't mandatory. As long as you know what your doing you can pass the class without coming to class. Great guy, boring class

AWESOME TEACHER. In highschool math was my worse subject, with this teacher it seemed very simple as long as you go to class (but he doesn't care about attendence). Will help you as much as you want to help yourself. I would take him for every math class if possible.

He was a very help instructor taking the time needed to make sure everyone in class understood the problem. If you were having troubles doing homework he was available on line, durring office hours and in class. His lecture notes were easy to follow and the book was not needed for this class.

He is quite difficult to understand because of his accent. Other than that, I would recommend this class. Enjoys teaching math, very helpful, easy for me. Hands out study guides EXACTLY like the test! Take him! I liked it!

Online class & math for me was terrifying. But this professor understood & gave us unlimited times for quizzes and hw on mathlab & extensions if we didnt finish but there is alot of work to do with his class, 150+ questions on hw plus 1-3 quizzes a week. But eventhough it is alot of work, it has helped me tremendously with my fear of math.

He helps you understand by explaining as much as you need. He was always available for questions, and answered emails promptly.

Professor Ivan Melendez was GREAT! Took him for Liberal Art I and now for II. Super helpful and will explain same formula many times until all understand. He does provide extra credit as well. All homework is online and quizzes. For test he lets you use index cards and than all of the previous ones for the final. Not an easy class but what math is.

Professor Melendez is a great teacher. He is there for you before and after class if you need additional help. He does whatever it takes for you to pass the class.

This class was awesome. As someone who struggles with math, Melendez made the material easy as pie. He lets you use a notecard on each test (I was getting an A each test because of this) and you get to use every notecard you made for the final. He gives you every opportunity to pass. Fast grader, uses points system. He's funny, too!

Professor Melendez is amazing. I needed so much help and he was always available. If you struggle with math like I do, just ask him to help. Can say enough about his caring.

This wasnt a difficult class. The professor tries to make sure his students dont fail. He gives extra credit and gives you many oppurtunities to get more points. If you need a math class and dont need a special math, take this course. Easy way to get credits.

Great class! It's a bit of a workload on homework and keeping up with lecture videos (I took an online course) but he was a great professor who wants everyone to do their best and pass. He is caring and will help you on any problem you're stuck at thoroughly. If you do your homework and study for the tests, then you will pass.

Honestly, I was very timid to start this course, because I thought he was going to be very difficult, but I was completely mistaken. He's a funny guy, and explains things as much as they need to be for you to understand. Gives reviews for test and final. Overall, a great math professor.

He is an amazing professor, all the homework is given online. He gives a practice test before every test and the final that is almost identical to the test. So if you do the practice one a few times your guaranteed to pass the class. He is a great teacher he explains things very well and will answer all your questions. Best math professor I've had.

Professor Melendez was a good online professor for Trigonometry. However, with any math class, you have to practice daily to retain the material. I blame myself for slacking off and getting a C. There are three proctored tests (including final). The final is worth 30%. Watch the videos in MMLP/practice, you will do just fine. Workload manageable.

It is a quick-paced class; the homework is so much, so many questions. Math is difficult. It is a long class, and it can be dull. If you struggle, I suggest meeting him outside during office hours, he will explain things much better one on one and very helpful. The class itself demands a lot.

The class was definitely an easy A. The quizzes were the same as the homework on MLM so definitely do the hw cause it will definitely help keep your grade up in the long run. Scientific calc is needed as expected. Didn't use the book at all cause the class is very MLM heavy. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does keep track of your attendance.

Haven't done math in 5 years and didn't know what to expect going into it but still was an easy class. If you just do the HW and the reviews you WILL pass. If you ask him a question he'll do his best to answer it to the fullest.

Honestly he should get higher rating. He is probably the BEST teacher I've ever had. He made me understand math. If you want to succeed in his class do the homework and the practice quizzes. You get unlimited attempts for the homework, and he provides step-by-step example problems. Also do the practice quizzes the tests are almost the EXACT same.

He was very good about helping out his students if they needed it, though the information he put out about each section was very much confusing, I often ended up using the campus tutoring centers for help.

Lots of homework, tests, and quizzes. Very lecture heavy but easy class to pass if you pay attention and do the homework and practice quizzes. Several attempts for each. I've seen poor ratings for him as an online teacher but I had a great experience in person.

Melendez was a great profesor he is very relaxed and ready to help. He talks a lot and his explaining can be confusing but once you combine the my labs + his lessons you pretty much figure things out. He makes sure you are ready for exams and always reviews the class before. Nice teacher take him.

I've never been confident in math, but Melendez's lectures, examples, & (funny) stories made understanding the concepts really easy! His homework is not hard, & the quizzes are almost identical to the tests. But if it's difficult for you to understand hispanic accents, don't take his class. Just know you would be missing out on a 10/10 professor!

STUDY THE EXAM REVIEWS! Do well on the 2 quizzes, this will SAVE you. I'm the King of being horrific at math(or Super King) especially after not being in school for 10 years. Homework is ok a lot, but u can keep trying until you get a 100%, quizzes you have 3x and he takes the highest score. I would recommend this class, just prepare for homework!

He was fantastic engaging students.

Easy class with difficult exams. the class has only two homework assignments per week, but make sure to keep atop the material. if you work ahead you can review your mistakes in lecture and then fix. The exams are super important so make sure you can do the work in a timely manner. Excel only so if you aren't fond of excel take another class.

Melendez was a very good professor, note I do really enjoy math so I may be bias but if I was ever confused on a question he was always available to help out students. Suggest taking notes during his lectures as it'll help you on the homework. During test he always you to have an index card with whatever you want on it to help you out.

Professor Melendez was great. No lectures or example questions in class. In class, he did the homework with us and whatever we didn't finish was expected due the following week. The only difficulty was he has a pretty strong accent, but once you get used to it, the class is smooth sailing. I recommend him to anyone and everyone!
