I had Intro to Economics over the summer. Hated the subject, did not want to take it, and pretty much failed the final. He always offered to help after class and he was definately fair. I passed the class with a C when I know I should have failed.

His classes are for people who want to learn. If you're lazy go somewhere else. He uses real world examples to illustrate his points and does use raunchy humor but he is usually being honest in what he says. He is also a fair to lenient grader, but you have to do the work.

THE TRUTH ABOUT STEINBURG !!! if you tried on your own then his stories, examples and humor make sense.. if you don't then your lost and you FAIL ..MISERABLY! Great Guy outside and inside of class, MOST PROFS. Say you can come see them..but with him he means it !! 1 of the few where I Learned :-)

I would not recommend steinberg to anyone that is already taking a full courseload. He expects alot of his students and there is alot of reading and assignments to complete. He was clear of what he expected of the class and that is why I dropped it.

If you don't think that he cares go to his office after class, he will spend as much time with you as needed! He is very misunderstood! He is tough in the classroom but cares!

If you're looking for an easy class, do yourself a favor and do not even consider Steinberg. However, if you are looking to not only learn, but intellectually challenge yourself, take this professor. He's very dedicated to his craft albeit a bit unorthodox in his teaching methods. The amount of extra help he offers goes beyond fairness.

he takes pride in teaching. study the material and dont be afraid to ask questions. he is very informative, and understanding. he wants you to come to him for help if you do not understand. - overall you will learn a lot, and he really cares about his students academic studies.

He does have a sense of humor. Just read the book show up to class and understand what he is saying and you will be fine. He offers help make sure you take it!!

Not the easiest class in the world, but the professor is very engaging.

he's really informed & has a pragmatic approach to teaching.i read all da crazy stuff bout this guy be4 n i was like "i ain't takin him". but he's one of da best profs i've had so far;challenges one to THINK not just give back what he gives one...so if u up to a challenge,take him+he gives credit if u show interest;show up to class n u'll be iight.

Steinberg comes off as a tough guy but just read and ask questions and you will be fine! He gets a bad rep because he actually expects students to do some work. Do the work and if you have questions go see him after class he will bend over backwards to help you!

i dont see what's the big deal. he's hilarious and he does get to the point even if he has stories to say..it get's to the subject matter. he's not boring at all because he tries to make it interesting. his grading is fair and reasonable. he will even teach you some things about making money.

Taking his class is wasting your time and money.He give grad but you don't learn in his class.You have to do the reading by your self.i don't really recomed him to get the best for your money.

Dr.Steinberg is a great listener and cool, funny, highly intellectual professor. He loves to talk to students about life in general and himself. He is a really good guy.

I don't know what everyones problem is. Just because he's a hard teacher, doesn't mean he won't pass you. It's not the Professor! It's you! You chose the class, YOU chose the professor. Steinberg is amazing! He helped me when I was in trouble. Not just in class, but outside of class as well. Study hard in his class, that's it! DUH!!!!!

One of my fav teachers at the school. He does talk about his personal life but is more in terms to help you remember stuff he talks about. He is very knowledgeable on the subjects he teach and is very passionate on what he does teach. If you want an easy A this is not the class but if u want to learn eco~ his the perfect teacher

the class is difficult, but he is one of the few proffessors in njcu that cares about the students learning. Steinberg treats every student the same way, and challenges all his students to work hard to pass his course

its college, apply urself. not easy but if u come 2 class, study, take notes, ask 4 help, u can get a b or c. have some coffee w/ him. he's an economist, they're weird in a cool sort of way. gear up, do ur part & u'll b fine.

He is a hard one. You should study the text book and cover every material before the exam. I think his classes are interesting.Gives good examples during the class with his own style.

Steinberg is a great prof. All you have to do is show up and read the book a bit to get what he's talking about. Also, if you ask ANY quesiton pertaining to the subject matter he'll take up to the entire period to make sure you understand it. Not to mention he's freakin hilarious! :D

Steinberg is an interesting individual with an onorthodox sense of humor. I would recommend this professor to anybody who is interested in learning.

If u want to learn, take class with this Prof!Not an easy A but he challenges your intellect and wants you to think for yourself.Text is needed but common sense is also a must.Exams meant to test your comprehension, not reiterate book.He's quite understanding n helpful so speak up n ask questions!

The Prof is great he helped me out in class, gave me stock advice, and fun to talk about politics and life with. He is the best Prof I had since I transfered here from Bergen CC. My GPA is good the class isn't as hard as he makes it seam from the start. If you apply yourself and want to learn take him for sure. I had him for micro and he was great.

First off I rated him not hot because I'm not a homosexual. (lol) He'll throw that coment in at various times in the class, he's a funny guy. He is a really great teacher and takes the time out to help you if you need it. One of the best teachers in the school. Really nice cool teacher.

I love this professor!! He challenges you like no other professor will! If you actually want to learn something at NJCU, Take Him, He knows what he is talking about, very very smart man, he may act stupid on occasion but that's just his personality, I learned so much about investing that I actually did it myself!!

For those of you that are upperclassmen and know the value of unorthodox (out of the box) thinking of economic issues and politics and care for the application of modern concepts in socioeconomic theories, he is a must professor to take at NJCU. Very smart guy. If you take one of his classes you will learn. Your grade in one of his classes is a true reflection of your effort. It is not easy and requires a lot of reading to understand the concepts. Did I mention hilarious. He has to be one of the best if not the best professor at NJCU.

I took this class knowing what i was getting into. At first, he seemed intimidating, but soon after i started enjoying it. this class is not an easy A, but if you commit, then you have nothing to worry about. just listen to the lectures and read the book. the chapters aren't even that long. If you are looking for an easy A, this is not the Professor for you. If you are looking to actually learn something, the Steinberg is the person to take. If you read the book, pay attention, and aren't afraid to stay after for help, there should be no reason why anyone cannot get an A in his courses.

Steinberg is my favorite member of the faculty at NJCU. He is an advocate for his students as well as the teachers!Sincere, willing to help all his students.People do find his teaching approach strange but his realness is what allows the student to learn things they will never learn in any other class. GREAT Prof delivers an NYU education at NJCU!!

Prof is great cares for his students and makes economics interesting by relating to real-life situations. Did you know according to the theory of utility that today, you achieve no greater satisfaction after obtaining $220,000 annually? Steinberg teaches you cool stuff like that.

This is a great professor for every economics student. In his wonderful lecture, if you can 100% catch him, then you would learn many useful things which books doesn't show. But his course is hard, it really needs to spend time to get a good grade. Also he is a good person to talk, you can have a lot of chances to fix your grade.

He is great professor. Before I chose this class, other students said the professor is hard. But if you attend the class and read the text book carefully again and again, you will get the grade that you deserve. If you want to study Economics for Major, I definitely recommend his class. I took Macroeconomics and It is hard if you don't study. Remember you come to school to learn something and use for your future. If you take his class, you can know economic issues and you understand how the economic works in this period. You have to do your part and read/study the chapters you are assigned. Taking Steinberg over other professors is like an opportunity cost. Study hard,learn, and you will end up with a solid B if not an A. On the other hand, you take an easy professor, you will end up with an A and not learn anything. Economics is something everyone needs to learn!

I find it hysterical how many people go to college and think it's going to be a joke and a breeze. Then again they make finding a job for myself after I graduate much easier. Steinberg tries to teach his class through a 20 year olds mentality. His class isn't hard, you don't even have to use the book. Just pay attention to what Steinberg says.

He is one of the most difficult professors I have taken. He does play favorites and tends to favor attractive females. You have to work hard in his class. Know the material well. Most end up dropping him. But you will learn some stuff that may come in handy. You have to go to his office for help. I think that is the only way to pass the tests.

He is always in class and only takes attendance 3 times for financial aid reasons. There is only one essay that you have to hand in for the final. He answers any questions you have at the beginning of class and they are extremely in depth. Buy the textbook. If you take his class you will learn A LOT about economics. I took macro and micro.

Prof. Steinberg is a great guy. I took him for History of Economic Thought and his class and tests are no joke, but he makes himself available to anyone who asks. He appreciates those who take an interest in the material and he will take that into serious consideration during the final evaluation. Take him and learn something.

This is not a class that you can pass by just picking up the book last second. This is a hard course but it is completely worth it. He explains everything and offers to stay after class every week if you need help. Best professor I have had. Don't believe me take his course pass and then take any other econ course. The rest look like easy As.

The grade you get in this class is the grade you will get taking this class at NYU. He is only hard if you believe you can get through this class without studying and putting in work. Otherwise you asked to fail. Only negative comment is he is unclear about some of his work. He believes most are as smart as he is so he moves very rapidly.

Do the work, study hard and this class is a breeze. If you put nothing into it, you will FAIL! A great prof who expects nothing but the absolute best from his students. He's usually available before and after class. He breathes Eco, you cannot BS him. He prepares numerous handouts as a counterpoint to the texts. He wants his students to succeed.

One of the best teachers, period. It's hard finding people who are passionate about something, and this man is passionate about his students' education. He expects his students to do the work, and be prepared for class, as any good teacher would. If you wanna learn something from someone who gives a crap, he's definitely the professor to take!

I have taken him about 5 times; and each time Steinberg ultimately wants you to learn. Keep up with your readings, attend lectures, and do your best and you should excel in his classes. He's had a great impact on my academic career and if I was able to take him again for my graduate studies I would without a doubt. Also always available; he cares.

I took macro,micro, and labor economics with Dr. Steinberg. I have a son in college which tells you my age. He is an excellent teacher for those who really want to learn economics. The other classes I am taking are a lot easier because I have a solid foundation thanks to his lectures. Easy, no. He will help you, he cares. He is a true master. Do it
