So easy. I rarely went to class. I think that it was just because of into to comps. Not difficult. She would help you with whatever you couldn't understand.
very easy lots of extra credit would def take again
She has a funny accent and intersting name, but she's a very good teacher. I would definitely recommend Dr. W to anyone taking any class.
Extremely easy; lots of extra credit. Only needed a 50 on the final to get an A. She's adorable and really nice... Doesn't completely know what's she's talking about, but you still come out of the class learning at least the basics.
Best professor I have taken at WVU. She truly cares about her students & how they are doing, both in her course & as people in general. The material is difficult, but she goes above and beyond to make sure her students are comprehending the subject. Take this professor if you are talking any Calculus course.
Great professor, very easy. Hard to understand at first. "A creation" = equation. friends figured that out later in the semester. She cares about students and gives tons of bonus! I didn't study very much but I took AP Cal in high school. She is very nice and TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!!!
I took her for Calc 2 and I can say she's the best. it was hard to understand in the beginning, but I got used to it. she really cares about students. gives a lot of extra credit. tests and quizzes are really easy. I only needed a 85 out of 200 on the final to get an A.
Amazing teacher. I took her for Calc 1 and Calc 2, very helpful and very lenient.
I had Iwona for Calc 1 and 2 and would recommend her to anyone. If you put effort into the class you can definitely get an A. At the end of the semester she bumped my 89.26 up so I could receive an A.
Very sweet woman, loves to help out the students, however she can be hard to understand
I had her for Calc 1. She was great! I loved her so much that I am taking her for Calc 2, also.
EXCELLENT professor! Very sweet and helpful, teaches concepts excellently. If you go to class you will do fine. I took her for Calculus 1 and Calculus 2. Most definitely best professor in the department.
Dr. W is a saint. I wasnt one that many people expected much of in college. Dr. W. sees through the BS and will move heaven and earth to help in any way pos ible. Tons of bonus opportunities and
She is a wonderful instructor. Always willing to help and answer questions. If you try in her class you will succeed.
I was a freshman coming into calc 2 & was really nervous but shes great!Teaches concepts very well, passes around attendance sheet every day, gives a lot of bonus, a lot of practice materials, and stayed after class to help me all the time. She is hard to understand at first, but dont worry you will figure it out. Take her!!!
Iwona is simply the SWEETEST woman around. She radiates helpfulness and compassion. She cares so much about her students understanding the material. She has a lot of sympathy for those not getting A's in math. It may not seem like it at the beginning, but she gives out a LOT of extra credit. If you're nervous about calc 2, take her. She's an angel.
She is amazing. She has an accent, but you get used to it. She explains things very well and don't be afraid to ask questions.
Tough grader. Hard to get an A in the class and homework and quiz galore.
Dr. W is so awesome. Calc 2 material was really tough for me, but I could never have gotten an A without her! She is really sweet and great during office hours. She takes attendance and tells you she will help bump your grade if you are close to a letter up. She took me from an 88 to an A! If I could take her again I would. Lots of extra credit :)
Was very scared to take this class at first, but after having her this semester she made me understand everything very clearly. She is a great professor and knows her stuff! Gives lots of extra work for practice and extra credit. She truly cares for her students!
to be honest, I thought calculus 1 was a very tough class before taking it, especially since classes like this one always have a shadowy gloom. However, with enough effort, Iwana makes this class easy. You want an A? Study enough. A very fair class.
Dr. Wojciechowska is a helpful professor. However, occasionally it is difficult to understand what she is saying.
Really great professor, especially for Calculus. She does have an accent, but you get used to it quickly so it was never really an issue (for me) understanding her. Always willing to help you see what you got wrong and work with you. Explained things clearly until most everyone seemed to get it. Lecture on test days was optional.
I loved Dr. W. Smart, patient, & kind. My class had someone who would not stop talking; he'd yell his questions over anyone else who might have been talking (esp. Dr. W) because he was much more important than us & she never lost her patience. She's very understanding, I had a family member pass away and she let me make-up a lot of missed work.
She's so awesome! Do the suggested homework problems and don't fall behind. Weekly quizzes on Fridays. Gives a lot of homework, but it will give you a lot of materials to use to prepare for exams. She gives you old exams to study. Definitely take her
by far the best math professor i ever had here, her tests were fair and if you went to class and did the practice problems she puts online the tests were a breeze. would highly recommend to anyone who is willing to do homework and put in a solid effort.
Dr. W understands the material is difficult and is always willing to help.
I hated calculus until I had Iwona for Math 156. She made everything clear and tie together, and really made the class fun to go to. Her accent takes some time to get used to, but other than that she's very clear cut and never tries to trick you on homework/quizzes/tests. Quizzes once a week, usually on things very similar to homework.
Iwona is a tough professor but definitely worth the work!! She has an strong accent but you get used to it very quickly. She gives written homework and online homework-- do them both it helps your grade and test questions are very close or even the same! Do suggested textbook problems before tests
Dr. W is one of the best professors I have ever had. She gives lots of homework, but the homework really gives you an idea of how well you will do on the exams. She puts lots of resources on ecampus too with guided solutions. You can tell she really wants you to succeed. I dreaded taking calculus, but never dreaded going to her class.
HER TESTS ARE 8 PAGES LONG WHILE THE OTHER PROFS' TESTS ARE 3-4 PAGES!! She talks fast, has accent, & erases fast, so hard to take notes & listen at same time. RECORD THE LECTURES & TAKE PICS OF BOARD so you can pay attention in class & copy notes at home. Good teacher but length of tests lead to bad test grades which DESTROY your overall grade.
I got an A , I studied hard but she give alot of extra credit oppourtinity
Iwona is a wonderful teacher. She explains everything extremely clearly and her tests are very fair.
She made calc 2 easy
Iwona was the best professor I have ever had. She does lecture pretty quickly and if you are not fond of math you will most likley struggle. There was a LOT of extra credit offered on every exam and some homework. She is patient and will slow down if you ask. The nicest woman ever. If you just keep up with your work you will excel.
Calculus II is an extremely difficult subject and you should expect to have to study hard to pass this course with an A or B. However, Dr. Wocjiechowska does her best to make it as easy as possible to learn Calc II. Extremely helpful and extremely kind. Gave extra credit for bad exam scores, very insightful and prepared me well for the final.
Very much enjoyed taking her class. Homework is one or two written a week and one or two online as well. Master the homework and you will master the tests. Be a faster test taker though, one hour tests for all WVU Calc 2 students is very fast for a Calc 2 test. She did out-of-class reviews for all tests and exams. 10/10, very nice person.
Very nice professor, easy to talk to. A lot of bonus throughout the semester. However calc 2 is not easy by any means. First understand the concept, then do all the problem set she post on ecampus. Exam is not hard if you mastered the material. However sequence and series (exam 3) is pretty bad, but she gave us a bonus quiz to make up for it lol.
Dr. Wojciechowska is really nice, and very available outside of class to offer help. Her tests were really long, which is where many of my classmates' downfalls were. She also grades pretty toughly. We would have large amounts of points taken off for notation errors, even if we arrived at the correct answer. Overall, very nice woman, tough prof.
Wonderful experience in this class, her accent was nice to listen to in class and made me interested in the lecture. Despite the accent, you can understand her just fine. She was really great to talk to after class and brought the same enthusiasm to every class. Tests are out of 105-110 points so basically 10 bonus on every test.
An absolute angel. She deeply cares about her students and them passing. She doesn't make the course so easy that everybody passes, but she does care that you understand and will utilize the material. She is always available to talk to about personal issues that may impact your grades or attendance. She is extremely intelligent and wonderful.
Sweetest professor I've ever had. She genuinely wants everybody to pass her class and will do everything in her power to help you. She really cares that you understand the material, and is really good at explaining difficult concepts. Also very understanding of personal issues that can impact academic performance and is just really caring overall
This woman is the textbook definition of an absolute gem. She is so helpful and her lectures are so interesting. Also, she gives plenty of extra credit for sequences and series because she understands that no matter how smart you are going to mess things up. Absolute best teacher here.
Iwona is absolutely amazing. Calc 2 is the hardest class I've ever taken, but she made it slightly bearable. All of her exams had 5-10 extra credit points. Also, she give s lots of homework and webassigns for practice that are good for boosting your grade.
Very, very sweet lady. She explains things pretty well and makes Calc 2 somewhat bearable. My only knock against her is that I think she can be a tad harsh on grading/partial credit - I lost some points for some extremely silly reasons that I don't think other professors would care about, but oh well. Still a great teacher.
This class was so unhelpful because the exams are NOT what you do in class. She is unhelpful and an unfair grader. On exams you will get far less credit than deserved. She will sometimes "graciously" bump students, but the final was so outrageously hard that I didn't do well enough for her to even review to bump. Ridiculous class, teach yourself.
although hard to understand at some times, was still very good in lecture. genuinely cared about students, and wanted us to pass.
She is very good.
Overall, she is a pretty good professor. She gives weekly quizzes, homework, and pop quizzes. Calc 2 exams are very hard, so you actually need to study. She is helpful and provides good feedback, and she actually cares about her students success. Sometimes she can be hard to understand due to her accent, however she will repeat herself if needed.
I took honors 155 and the main difference was that we dont get calculators. She listened to the students a lot when we were struggling and let us bring notecards for the hardest exams (including the final). Gave us a bonus quiz to bring up grades at the end. Attendance isnt mandatory but there are quizzes every Friday that you cant make up.
Took her Honors 155 class and struggled the ENTIRE time I was in her class. That was mainly for the fact that I need a different teaching style. As a professor she is great, you can discuss things with her, she gives extra credit, and will also sometimes allow notecards for exams (including final). However, expect to get a lot of outside help
She can be hard to understand but she teaches very well. Explains things in a way that is easy to understand. The tests are difficult so study hard. She will provide study guides and resources. Attendance is not mandatory but there are pop quizzes so you may as well show up. She will ensure that all exam topics are covered in lecture, so take notes
This class and the professor was genuinely unbearable. Calc 2 is already hard enough, and being forced to take it online made it even worse. The professor was hard to understand, especially over the zoom calls. The tests and homework were nothing like what was taught in class. I had to teach myself or watch videos from much better professors.
Avoid taking her online at all costs. She did the absolute minimum for the entire semester. "Teaching" her class was giving us videos from Doug Squire. Gives no feedback at all on assignments other than a few X's or some question marks. If you take her online, you WILL be teaching yourself the content. Can't say for in-person, but AVOID FOR ONLINE
Professor Wojciechowska is an EXCELLENT calculus teacher. You will learn so much from her and she makes hard topics manageable. Attendance is not mandatory, however there are pop quizzes and her lectures are the only thing that will help you pass the class. She is super nice and cares that her students do well... reach out when you need help!!!
I know that Calculus 2 is already a hard class but I struggled with her teaching style. Personally there are better professors at WVU with this class. The only reason I passed was from extra credit and watching videos online. I would never in a million years take this class again.
Her lectures can be long and boring and sometimes she can be hard to understand but she is still a pretty good professor. She did give out pop quizzes every so often, but always gives extra credit on exams and especially at the end of the semester. She even let us use a cheat sheet on the final.
Really sweet lady. Class is hard but she cares about her students and offers test corrections. Also offers cheat sheet on exams. Pop quizzes often but encourages you to work with people around you. No surprises on quizzes and tests
She's a great professor that cares about her students. She has a tendency to go way too fast while doing practice problems and can be difficult to understand at times. However I think she does a great job teaching calc 2. She answers questions well and will stay after class and talk about whatever. Calc 2 is a tough class no matter who teaches it.
Professor Wojciechowska has been my favorite professor so far at WVU. Her lectures were extremely beneficial and the amount of time she puts into her eCampus and google drive allows for you to go through mass amounts of the previous semester's exams and notes. Loved her and her class
She would always be understanding and helped outside of class and extended deadlines a lot.
Calc 2 is a tough subject and can be boring at times, especially for 8:30 am, but I thought her lectures were pretty easy to follow. The sequences and series section at the end of the course is miserable (in my opinion) but other than that I thought it was a great class and I learned a lot!
If you aren't strong in calculus, don't take Dr. Wojciechowska. She's very nice and may be a better professor to those who are good at calculus, but she does not simplify topics in any way. Her teaching style is almost like she's reading right out of a textbook, which just didn't work for me. You'll have to spend a lot of extra time studying.
Iwona is an average professor with a big heart. She gives sorry feedback, some circles here, a -0.5 here, a question mark there. Be prepared for pop quizzes, but they are group. However, she truly truly cares about her students and wants to know every one of them. No surprises on exams. Make-up points on exam corrections. Bonus points everywhere.
This instructor is not very helpful during lectures to student's like myself. In class she just goes over examples and doesn't get into deeper explanations about topics how some student would appreciate and find helpful. If you can't learn off of just examples you will spend many extra hours per week teaching yourself the topics.
Lectures consist of example problems w/ little verbal explanations. Accessible outside of class and gives more extra credit than most. Pop quizzes are open note/collaborative, but the weekly quizzes are independent and closed-note. No calculator on exam, cheat sheet instead. Bad feedback - random circles and question marks. I prefer Bresock!
I love this professor, and I really wish that I was able to take her for more semesters than I was able to. She explains topics well, and goes through many examples so it is easy to pick up new topics.
She is a sweet heart and will help you if you reach out. You definitely need to go to lecture and do the practice exams and extra worksheets to do well on exams!! She offers extra credit on HW and built in extra credit on exams. WebAssign HW is easy but Crowdmark is tough. Overall, she is good if you put the effort in!
Shes a very sweet person, it gets a little rough when it gets to sequences and series but other than that she teaches the content extremely well. Just don't take the class at 8:30.
Very tough teacher to have. She doesn't explain the examples she goes through; she works them out and briefly explains them. It may work for some students, but if you struggle, make sure you don't get her for class, cause you will struggle hard. Make sure to practice a whole lot!
She's very nice and understanding (will give you extra days on homeworks if you are having trouble). Also, she gives A LOT of extra credit, and your lowest 2-3 quizzes will get dropped. Sometimes, it can be hard to understand her lectures. However, it will be fine if you ask for help, try on all the homeworks, and even watch some outside videos.
She does not convey material clearly, study tools are not like exams, and she goes way too fast.
Quizzes every Friday plus pop quizzes. Goes very fast in lectures without really conveying to the students. Uploads MINIMUM 5 homework assignments at once and the homework material is not covered until after it is due, so have to attempt teaching yourself the content for each homework. Usually 5-10 assignments at once, plus studying for quizzes
Incredibly personable and friendly professor!! Accent NOT a problem. Always available to students, extends deadlines frequently and is reasonable if you miss an exam/class. Take NOW! The lectures are a little too advanced for most students. I definitely recommend using the supplementary materials on ecampus (notes, videos, etc.)
Be aware of the GTA's grading!! Always look over exams and written homework because they make many mistakes. My grade would have been worse had I not argued my grade every time. Iwona is very nice and her door is always open. Go to office hours if you need it cause it is beneficial.
Many would disagree, but I think Professor Wojciechowska was great. She goes very fast, so definitely take notes. Her accent makes things a little difficult to understand, but she knows her stuff. Pay attention in class and do the work she provides for practice...it will definitely help! Don't be afraid to reach out for help, she is understanding!
Love her! She does have a thick Polish accent, but it's easy to understand after a while. Attendance is not mandatory, but she does do pop quizzes at least once a week and there are quizzes on Fridays (some take home). Likes to give WebAssigns and Crowdmark worksheets, but not unbearable. Ask questions and go to office hours, she's very helpful.
Dr. Wojciechowska is one of the best math teachers I have ever had! She is great at explaining the material and makes sure to give us enough practice problems. She's very kind and a fair grader. Overall, she's an amazing teacher!
Dr. W is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. She made sure to give us lots of practice problems to really understand the concepts. She gives good feedback and is available when you need her.
Great professor. Every single exam including the final had at least 6 possible bonus points. Gives tons of bonus points on homework, drops a couple quizzes, and the pop quizzes are extremely simple problems that you can work with others on. She is very heavy with lectures so try not to miss class. Slight accent but it is not a problem.
Calc 2 is not as scary as people make it out to be. Iwona is a great professor and takes her time to explain the material. She does give pop quizzes, so definitely go to class, but you usually get to work with others on them. There is quite a bit of homework, but there is also so much extra credit in the class (on everything, but quizzes).
If you want a professor who writes things on the board with no explanation and then gives a pop quiz after EVERY class, this is the teacher for you. She even admitted she never took calculus herself. Exams are extremely hard, homework is nonstop, and the pace is so fast it's nearly impossible to keep up (look away for a second and you are screwed).
Iwona is an Icon! She's super nice and understanding, even when asking her "dumb" questions. Sometimes lectures were fast, but that's calc. She holds 1-2 review classes for each exam (super helpful!) Go to class because there are "pop quizzes" that go over the material you learned that day (but you get to use your notes and work with others).
She was not a good professor. I only did well because I took the class in the high school. She would frequently make mistakes and go on rants that nobody in the class understood. Her accent is kind of hard to understand, but her teaching style is the main issue. Watch Tapia's lectures on ecampus. Also pop quizzes frequently so don't skip.
